Reviews for Hotel Imperador
Review 1:The building was shabby..falling apart....room was tiny and overlooked so had to keep curtains drawn; no hot water from shower, mirror so tarnished;light fitting broken, carpets dirty and threadbare; sheets had holes in, plaster falling off walls...didn't seem like hotel; had to change rooms....internet worked intermittently....all in all, very basic, but staff wonderful
Review 2:Excellent friendly staff
Review 3:Some personal does not speak English well. Bathroom was awful. Hotel looks worse than booking pictures. Wi fi does not work appropriately.
Review 4:Location is at the Santos beach. Breakfast was good.
Review 5:Bedroom was a totaly mess - it seems they had started to revamp it but didn't finished the works. Cable TV didn't work, bathroom was dirty, air conditioner was noisy, there was humidity in the ceiling of the bedroom.
Review 6:Staff were polite; Hotel is located in a conveniently neighborhood; Breakfast was ok;
Review 7:I needed Free WiFi for work and could never connect to it on any floor/network on my pc, my phone would occasionally connect but it was hit and miss. The signal was so weak always and it was non-existent in my room, depite the router being very close. I asked about it almost daily and the managers who could do something about it unlike the reception staff refused to see me over the WiFi issue, so I gave up. The room was paid up before and on arrival so you cannot receive any refund for awful places like this. Other poor elements were: Noisy place with traffic noise at all hours, Breakfast was lousy for Brazil...ended up eating out most breakfasts - everything in the place is below what you would expect for over $50 a night and what is acceptable. Room didn't feel totally clean and was cramped. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will never stay there again. Luckily I have had much better experiences in other places in Brazil - this "hotel" is not a good image for Santos or the country. Also the pictures on booking.com are nothing like the miserable place you enter. Booking.com should do a better job of verifying poor to lower rated places especially.
Review 8:The reception and waitering staff (not management) were friendly and tried to help sort out the endless problems but had no real power to do so.
Review 9:There was no safe available (even at reception) to leave valuables/ passports. The big light in room (even when off) flashed all night for 3 nights and they said it was not possible to fix and it was normal!
Review 10:Location
Review 11:Poor wi-fi signal in rooms, had to go into hall to connect; toilet stopped up twice, but they gave us a new room.
Review 12:Right across from beach, walking distance to beach, restaurants, shopping; wonderful breakfast buffet; helpful, friendly staff; secure parking; amazing view from game/tv room and terrace.
Review 13:Poor internet connection. Unfriendly staff. Very noisy rooms.

Review 23:Nothings!
Review 24:Issue 1 I have never been met by such a miserable receptionist in my life. I appreciate that there was always going to be a language barrier in Brazil but this lady had the rudest attitude I have ever come across making it all but impossible to communicate with her. Friends from Australia did the initial booking and had me sharing a room. As it was getting near to the end of my stay in Brazil I decided I would like the last couple of days on my own. I went back on line to Booking.com and booked a sea front room with the following quoted “Special Requests”: Special Requests I am already at the hotel in room 65 6th floor, I will be moving into my room tomorrow. Thanks, Steve She not only ignored/ never bothered to have my instructions translated she cancelled my booking. I eventually managed to contact the manager of the hotel and sort the booking out. Issue 2 During a rather drunken night out I got off the elevator at the wrong (1st instead of 2nd) floor. Unfortunately the key to my room also opened the door on the 1st floor where I found a couple in bed. Luckily I made a rapid exit to prevent the meeting ending with me looking like a “panda bear”! Issue 3 Road noise, due to the location of the hotel to the main road out front it was extremely noisy. If they can afford to have the windows sound proofed ,,,,,,, and the air conditioner repaired it would be a nice place to stay. There were lots of silly little things wrong that one would normally ignore but the receptionists attitude at the desk just made me want to nit-pick everything.
Review 25:The room was serviced daily and to a fair standard by the cleaning staff.
Review 26:No english speaking staff. They didn't make the effort to try and help, really not a good hotel to stay in if you don't speak Portuguese. Rooms where small, facilities looked really old and unkempt. Overall I couldn't wait to leave.
Review 27:Good location and nice breakfast.
Review 28:a bit noisy from the street. room design too simple. prices went up from last time.
Review 29:on the beach, near bus station to sao paulo, generous breakfast, cable tv with 2-3 english channels, staff proffesional and efficient, shower strong and hot.
Review 30:The condition of the building and of the room is very poor and the overall impression it gives is negative (broken tiles and moul in the bathroom, for instance. There was not even a a stool or a chair in the room for us to put our luggage. Won´t go back there or recommend it.
Review 31:The location.
Review 32:no baggage storage for the day of traveling; but, as the hotel is in process of reorganization, I was told that there will be one in the close future.
Review 33:very kind and helpful staff, close to the beach, excellent stay
Review 34:The software for booking that caused an increase of r$ 138,00 on myexpected fee of r$ 240,00 I had to pay in advance r$ 378,00 I understandis their policy but not usuall one. Let me explain about the software:when I did my search I searched for a hotel for a couple of adults I wasnot aware that I had to choose again the number of persons so thereservation came up as one adult and one child. Nontheless on the farright of the booking column ther was a green icon that said couple andprice r$ 240,00. So it would be very plausible that I received the extrar$ 108,00 that I paid (giving back the discounted r$ 30,00 for theparking they gave to me) They also gave me the wrong room with a sideview I had to go back to the reception and wait for the sea view that Ihad booked. That side view room was unaceptable with unfinished walls(no paint) and a noisy Air Conditioner.
Review 35:We, me and my wife liked the location, the people who worked there, theac at that specific room
Review 36:The room was humid, the walls were dirty, the double bed which I reserved consisted of 2 single beds put together, the minibar and the wi-fi dodn't work properly. I wouldn't saty there again.
Review 37:The hotel location is good and the beach is just across the street.
Review 38:Noise from traffic and neighbouring properties. Lots of dogs barking. Very basic rooms, no shampoo even. Staff did not speak any English.
