Reviews for Desert Nights

Review 1:Where do I start? I got food poisoning from a side salad at their restaurant the night I arrived and spent the following 48h sick in bed. The room was absolutely infested with bed bugs but I was obviously in no mood to move. When I finally left I discovered I had a bunch of new friends in my backpack. You're also meant to have 10% off food at the bar as a guest but if you don't mention no one will ask you, even if they know you're a guest. In all, a stay to forget.

Review 2:Location is perfect, even though Huacachina is pretty small. Their buggy deal seemed good but I ended up not doing it for reasons mentioned above. Even though I got food poisoning from the salad, the rest of the food tasted good and the restaurant was always crammed. I'd eat there again, just avoid raw veg. As for the bed bugs they are aware of the problem and working on fixing it, I saw it with my own eyes. They thoroughly clean the rooms daily and will have some one come in soon to deal with it.

Review 3:Would be nice to have a separate entrance to the hostel instead of through the restaurant and also a fridge for guest use

Review 4:Spacious rooms and good common space.

Review 5:Hot water is not very reliable. The beds are very old and shake a lot. The sheets seemed a bit dirty. A bit pricey. I looked around and saw some other places that seemed to have a better price for the accomodations

Review 6:Good wifi, good location, nice staff.

Review 7:The room had a terrible smell in it. The beds weren't comfortable. You had to walk through a restaurant from the shower

Review 8:The food was amazing but obviously you had to pay extra

Review 9:The dorm I was in was super stuffy and airless. We kept door open+fan going all night.

Review 10:Nice food+view from terrace restaurant. good location. Staff friendly.

Review 11:no atmosphere, common areas not nice, mattress was laid-through, room without window (only rooflight) so not really fresh air, door of the dorms always open

Review 12:location, cheap, good restaurant with various vegetarion options, dorm quite big (room 300), they have lockers, staff english-speaking+friendly, very good buggy-sandboarding-tour

Review 13:It's quite old and looks a little shabby at first sight, but it is all clean. The internet only works occasionally...

Review 14:The staff is nice and the food is great. They offer different vegetarian options as well :) and that's quite hard to find in the desert ;) The rooms and bathrooms are old, but clean. The sand buggy/sand boarding tour was fun and well timed. We stayed there till the sun went down.

Review 15:The showers are quite public, but you can change in the bathroom stall

Review 16:The staff here was fantastic, so friendly and helpful - they even helped me when I missed my bus. It looks out right over the laguna and is quieter than most hostels when sleeping. The food was good and the showers were warm, and the wifi reached the dorm rooms.

Review 17:Basic toilets and showers

Review 18:They organize dune buggy/sandboarding tours Restaurant is good and cheap Spacious dorms Friendly and helpful staff

Review 19:International environment. Staff friendly and helpful

Review 20:Room at the front was very noisy at night until late from the restaurant outside

Review 21:Friendly staff and perfect English spoken, good restaurant

Review 22:Most of the people chosse it for lunch amd dinner, the most attractive place in the night. On the other hand very quite and cheap.

Review 23:the location was good!

Review 24:Rooms have no ventilation and fans are totally inadequate.Like sleeping in a sauna.

Review 25:Helpful staff

Review 26:We could book sandboarding through the hostal who made it all very easy. I recommend doing the sandboarding through desert nights.

Review 27:Restaurant pricey, no cheap breakfast options- would be nice if pancakes/ bread were complimentary as is common in other hostels in Peru

Review 28:Location is great, spacious dorm rooms

Review 29:None.

Review 30:The location is perfect, it is just next to the lake. It has an amazing restaurant with big portions and delicious food, it is a little bit pricey compared to the other places though. The rooms and beds are comfortable, the wifi is very fast.

Review 31:Found a little astma-pump between my blankets, certainly not mine. Wonder whether the sheets were clean... Staff unwilling to do anything for me. At night it was noisy because of restaurant guests (although they closed at a reasonable time). There's no airconditioning and even in this season it was warm. I would not recommend their showers.

Review 32:Friendly staff, heated up my food from the day before without making problems.

Review 33:No breakfast, I think they should at least prepare some bread and coffee to be fair.

Review 34:The location is perfect of you're a sporty traveler and want to go for a early morning sand surfing.

Review 35:The hostel is at the back of a restaurant, you feel like it's an extra bother.

Review 36:Great location for cheap.

Review 37:Huacachina was good, We might got Ameba from the salad from the food. But it might come from other places too. Avoid Salad!
