Reviews for Residence & Conference Centre - Sudbury North
Review 1:breakfast, no cutlery, or cooking utensils or pans, etc, just a fridge ;-(
Review 2:Privacy, parking lot, safe parking, friendly staff, clean towels and bedding, no fuss! Great deal
Review 3:Free Wi-Fi but poor strength of signal. No TV so made for a long night. Room was only 64 degrees and bedding was sparse. No one at desk to check in. Had to call a phone number to receive service.
Review 4:We drove around for an hour and couldn't find it and couldn't reach anyone at the phone number. So we had to search for somewhere else at the middle of the night.
Review 5:The booking website was not clear. The website is not easy to navigate. Make it easy accessible user friendly.
Review 6:The hospitality of staff and comfort-ability of the atmosphore
Review 7:The only small drawback for us was that our business was in the south end of town so the location was a bit out of the way. Generally, the breakfast was fine except for the setup of the coffee urn. The cups that were provided didn't fit under the spigot comfortably and spills were the result.
Review 8:The Conference Centre provided all of the basic amenities (double bed, kitchen facility, bathroom) at a much better price than any comparable overnight accommodation.
Review 9:You need a car to get around. Some tables and chairs would be nice in the lobby for eating breakfast. There are some nice sofas and coffee tables, but not easy to eat cereal or to spread jam on your toast, etc... that way, especially with kids. Also, no recycling bins in the lobby or in the rooms. Some outdoor seating would be nice... A few park benches in the front perhaps??... All small details... All in all a great place to stay. Good value for your money!
Review 10:The rooms were spacious and clean. Towels and supplies refreshed daily and more if needed. Staff very helpful and courteous. Breakfast was basic, but abundant and good. Great for families or two couples as seperate bedrooms in a mini suite. Will definitely be going back next summer!
Review 11:Wi-fi signal in our room was very weak and the hardwired connection was inactive. Long walk from elevator to some rooms, use the stairs. No TV in suite
Review 12:Large space. Makes good use of otherwise unused college dormitory space (summer lull). Light continental breakfast available.
Review 13:Rooms are slightly spartan and certainly lacking in charm, but on the plus side, the lack of decor made it easy to see if the place was clean or not (it was).
Review 14:Clean and quiet accommodations - surprisingly nice bed and very clean. Great breakfast options!
Review 15:Nice hotel. But since it is the student resident so that's the only thing which will make it more like a resident than a hotel. But anyways it was a nice stay.
Review 16:Room condition varies. Some may need a bit repair but nothing major.
Review 17:Quiet location while still convenient and close to restaurants, shopping, and a short drive to city centre. Very clean and helpful staff. Excellent kitchen and in-room fridge and microwave. Two-bedroom suites. Best value for family trip over a long weekend.
Review 18:we are small family with 1 kid, the bed is a little small for 2 people to sleep, and it is too soft.
Review 19:Clean, open kitchen, 2 separate bed-room, quite. Price is fair.
Review 20:As with other reviews I encountered prior to our visit, I must say that the comfort of the mattresses was disastrous. It took away from the amenities to wake up non-refreshed from laying on a too hard mattress!
Review 21:We liked the affordability and value for our money.
Review 22:Loud people talking and laughing in the hallways late at night (students? the place is cinder blocks and cement so noise travels), and some difficulty finding the Residence after arrival at the main college entrance.
Review 23:Seemed like a safe place to stay, and included modest breakfast.
Review 24:Noise (baby's cry at midnight), stain on the carpet
Review 25:Price, breakfast
Review 26:Dificult to find
Review 27:Price is very good
Review 28:the bagels and english muffins every morning were with mold and the staff didn't even apologize.
Review 29:value for $
Review 30:Walls were dirty. Holes in walls. Smelled a little.
Review 31:charges for parking; other colleges did not charge for parking.
Review 32:nice room, quiet.
Review 33:Beds are very hard
Review 34:Had more space than a traditional hotel room. Very quiet. Breakfast offered more options than some hotel continental breakfasts
Review 35:Room was clean and well maintained. Loved the 2 bedroom design. MWave, full sized fridge. Nicely tucked away from the main drag. Free parking.
Review 36:no TV
Review 37:Beds were a little firm
Review 38:Very clean
Review 39:Breakfast was sparse and it took a long time for items to be replenished.
Review 40:Very clean rooms, friendly and accommodating staff, convenient location.
Review 41:No Television
Review 42:Full size apartment space. Good location.
Review 43:The location could be better addressed...but a quick call to the front desk resolved that problem.
Review 44:The beds were firm, but I prefer that, so I didnt mind. The room was super clean. Room was quiet and close to shopping, restaurants, groceries etc.
Review 45:The rooms are not cosy. Please pay attention to the fact that it is a residence of students of the college. So it might be noisy as it was when we arrived. The breakfast was served in the entrance hall and there were no comfortable tables to sit at. Our GPRS did not find the address so we had spent lots of time to find the place and there were no signs with directions.
Review 46:there is a lot of space in the unit.
Review 47:Misled on advertised accomodations to what is offered and what weactually recieved. No tv in the rooms...no desk chairs...breakfast waspoor and out of food regular...no housekeeping on weekends...no privacyin the bedrooms. The window coverings were broken in both rooms.Whatever we asked for from staff, they did everything possible toaccomodate.
Review 48:It was very quiet and peaceful. The staff did everything they could toaccomodate with our needs.
Review 49:I agree with a previous review that it was a little bit unclear as to how to get to the residence front door by car.
Review 50:The accommodation was excellent value. The price is right if one is looking for a good, quiet, practical place to sleep with all the necessary amenities and not a lot of unnecessary "fanciness".
Review 51:We found it very difficult to find the correct building, once we were on the campus. It needs signposts for hotel guests. We found the beds small and uncomfortable.
Review 52:After a usual hotel room, we found the space excellent. Breakfast was very good.
Review 53:It was a bit hard to find as the residence is on the college campus andthe address provided takes you to the college, not the residence. Betterdirections would be useful.
Review 54:I was travelling with my son in law. We arrived at 02:00 in the morningand left at 08:00. We needed a place to sleep with a breakfast. Thisfacility provided that at the best price I could find.
Review 55:Bed is very uncomfortable. There is a kitchen but it isn't equiped. No TV or phones in the room. No heat. Rooms were cold the nights we stayed there.
Review 56:Friendly staff and decent WiFi.
Review 57:We've stayed at quite a few college residences, and at the same price they offered a TV in each room, or at least in the common area and they had Ethernet cords to give out in case that the wifi didn't work - which, in residence housing is often the case. However, no TV was in the room and they didn't have any Ethernet cords to offer, so I had to go buy one myself since I needed the internet for work. Other than that, the room lacked some hangers and the beds were quite uncomfortable - the mattress being covered with some weird plastic thing, making a lot of noise when moving around.
Review 58:The price was good, and the location was not too bad either - a close drive to shopping and eating. The rooms were clean.
Review 59:- bed sheets and mattress cover were scratchy and stiff - next time, I'll bring my own - rooms were a little cell-like, especially the common/microwave area
Review 60:- good value - well located (for our needs) - surprisingly quite given it is a student residence - free parking - i think your site says something about $8/day - decent breakfast
Review 61:Extremely worn out mattress that no one should be sleeping on, the topof the mattress meets the bottom of the mattress. Temperature controlwould have been good-the room was very cold, need to use extra blankets. The bathroom could have been cleaner, it smelled of urine even though itlooks clean on the surface. The cleaners need to take a betterlook.(perhaps at the inside of the toilet, maybe the tiles needchanging, don't know but the room smells when you walk in after itbeing closed for the day and the bathroom is where the smell is comingfrom. It would be nice if there was a small sofa or something other thenkitchen chairs to sit on.
Review 62:The breakfast. Location. Price. 2 separate bedrooms since we wereparents with our adult daughter and her fiancé.
Review 63:It was not clear that these accomodations were part of a college. Oncewe located the address and it was a college campus, the site was noteasily found. We had to call 2 or 3 times to find the entrance. The bedswere very hard and there were not enough towels for the number of peoplewe indicated were coming.
Review 64:We were driving from Wisconsin to Quebec and just needed a place to stopand rest for a few hours. It was inexpensive and fit our needs well inthat respect. We didn't need anything fancy. Although the siteindicated there was no meal, a light breakfast was provided. The staffwho checked us in was extremely pleasant and helpful.
Review 65:beds were VERY hard
Review 66:economical good location for family event good size rooms separate bedrooms for adult children and partners, as well as us (parents)
Review 67:Cold floor, limited housekeeping - we stayed two days - towels were not replaced, could not close blinds enough to make the room dark... all minor stuff.
Review 68:The price... apparently, all college residences in Ontario can rent rooms to tourists at reduced costs! Towels provided with soap and shampoo and the bed was surprisingly sleepable on.
Review 69:Beds were ok, but I could see a lot of people not finding themcomfortable (covered in plastic).Signage to find it on the campus left something to be desired.
Review 70:Nice price especially considering you get a mini suite; ideal for longerstays. Everything was clean and staff were friendly and courteous.
Review 71:There was only a hand towel and no bath towels. It was a college dorm and the facility showed it. Spit in the elevator, blood spots down the halls. The beds were not very comfortable. There was no t.v., cups and we had to ask for toilet paper. Parking was quite a distance from the room which meant we had to haul our bags a ways.
Review 72:The room was large. The plumbing worked well. It was very clean in the room. Staff was fairly friendly.
Review 73:There was no phone, alarm clock, or TV in the room (cable tv was advertised as included).
Review 74:It was convenient for the trip I was on. I was attending the graduation ceremony at the college.
Review 75:Mattress was uncomfortable No TV in room Breakfast was minimal Condition of Exterior grounds of the building is pathetic
Review 76:The beds were a bit hard and no hair dryer.
Review 77:Great price since we had to stay for 4 days. The breakfast was good too.
Review 78:scratchy towels and lumpy beds
Review 79:safe and clean. friendly and helpful staff
Review 80:the beds were hard. no phone in the room
Review 81:the separate bedrooms in each unit. the kitchenette. good size washrooms. Sitting area is very spacious.
Review 82:The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Not enough blankets.
Review 83:Location and the price.
Review 84:no complaints!!
Review 85:friendly staff, and nice clean rooms.
Review 86:The bed was like sleeping on a box-spring.
Review 87:Simple to find, affordable, and close to many of the city's conveniences.
Review 88:Lack of facilities - no TV, radio, telephone,
Review 89:good internet service
Review 90:Horrible beds, no utensils in kitchenette.
Review 91:Separate bedrooms. Cheap specially if sharing cost.
Review 92:no lamps in rooms
Review 93:excellent staff
Review 94:No personal TV in rooms No personal telephone
Review 95:Staff especially Lea was amazing
