Reviews for Hotel Hoge Venen Fagnard
Review 1:The proprietor,"Kirk" was very helpful to us. This was the town my Father stayed in during November 1944. With his help we located the place of the Hotel he stayed in - it was across the street. (now demolished) and where is went to sing songs around the piano (Cafe International), now a butcher shop across the street with delicious sandwiches.
Review 2:It is a little bit old fashion
Review 3:In my opinion this hotel has a good value for the money paid. The breakfast was excellent and the owner was very nice and helpful.
Review 4:Price for dinner was a bit too high.
Review 5:It wasn't easy to find a place to stay in this area. We were happy to find it at the end and to stay in this place after a long day of walking. We received a warm welcome. Breakfast was excellent, with warm croissants and fire in the fire-place.
Review 6:The hotel is currently undergoing major renovation work, which isn't mentioned on booking.com. There is Wifi however it didn't work properly half the time and there was no wifi in the rooms, only downstairs in the lobby.
Review 7:We stayed there for the F1 Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps. Distance wise it was only 25 minutes drive. The heating in the room worked well and the warmth didnt leave the room either
Review 8:The rooms are much bigger than described. We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. Free parking, free pets, very easy going staff.
Review 9:clients-smokers...
Review 10:Nice historic exterior and interior of the hotel. Clean room, excellent breakfast. Ideal place for dog's lovers :-)
Review 11:Very nice location in the naural park. Very friendly and helpul staff.
Review 12:When you arrive, from outside it looks like a closed place, there is a lot of maintenance to be done in the building. The stairs to the rooms are in a very bad condition. The feeling is like if nobody made any maintenance for a couple of years. It is really a shame because the structure of the building is nice, and also the rooms and breakfast room, but this hotel should better not receive anyone in this condition, just close it for a few months, make the maintenance, and then open it again. There is a dog going around teh parking and reception. I do not reccomed to come here with the building in this condition.
Review 13:The Breakfast was the best thing, very good. There was a lot of space in the room, with chairs and table. No problem for parking. Wifi was working. Close to Malmedy or Robertville lake.
Review 14:The breakfast was poor and at 15.00 the tables were still as they were when the guests left after breakfast. Poor renovation work, still a lot of work ahead.
Review 15:perfect location to explore the Vennbahn bicycle path, friendly host
Review 16:Reception area smelt heavily of cigarettes and the windows and curtains were stained yellow with nicotine. Bed had threadbare and holes in the sheets.
Review 17:Quiet location, good breakfast, nice interesting building, has potential. Bedroom light and airy.
Review 18:It was really awful, unclean, drunken staff. Will NEVER book this hotel again. Very disappointed with it and it is in no way shape or form a 3* hotel.
Review 19:I don't think there is much to do in Sourbrodt apart frombiking/hiking. You need a car or a bike to go to somewhere.
Review 20:Do you like a biking holiday? This hotel is located exactly on thebiking road VennBahn. Rent a bike at Monscahu Kalterherberg in theevening, bike ~10km to this hotel, and bring it back next morning(it costs ~30-40 Euro). It will make a lot of fun, and you can alsovisit Monschau.
Review 21:- The owner was drunk & not polite - The rooms weren't clean - We found fungus in the bathrooms - There were holes in the wall & the ceiling - ...
Review 22:- Nothing really...
Review 23:- Smell of cigarette... everywhere
Review 24:- Owner is very friendly and does everything to please the guests - A few km away from the best birdwatching spots in the Fagnes - Eveything is unformal...
Review 25:Room was ok but the pillows are MASSIVE, so unless you're a giant you have to chose between sleeping without a pillow or waking up with a seriously crook neck. The rooms were not cleaned very well with lots of cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling - and lots of spiders! We had to pay cash. Maybe this is normal in the countryside hotels, but when you're paying hundreds of euros to sleep for one night (admittedly on the busiest weekend of the year) it would be a better service if we could have paid by card.
Review 26:Beautiful location - 30mins drive from Francorchamps Spa Circuit. Breakfast was good - fresh croissants etc. Staff very helpful.
Review 27:Price/value Cleanness
Review 28:Simple but very friendly and confortable.
Review 29:Fireplace is nice but bar is a bit booring. Change the lighting!
Review 30:It looks better on the inside.
Review 31:The location is horrible combined with really expensive small and dirty rooms.
