Reviews for National Hotel

Review 1：Only bulgarian spoken, no attempt by the staff to make themselves understood in english. The area is a bit dark in the evening. No problem if you have a car (it might be a problem if you walk). Quite a long walk to the bus/rail station (I would not recommend if you have luggage or in bad weather conditions)

Review 2：Fantastic value for the money. I have paid more for a bed in a hostel dorm, than for a single room with bathroom in this hotel. Those who complain about anything at National hotel can simply open the wallet and pay more - and they will get a better quality - elsewhere. Here you will find a fully acceptable accomodation for a very very very cheap price. In my opinion you get far more than what you pay for.

Review 4：Hotel was just a short walk from both the centre and the train station. Thestaff were very friendly and helpful although they don't speak English (you just have to be creative with your communication methods). And the breakfast was excellent given the price of the rooms.

Review 5：They charged me more than my booking stated -- it was only $1-2 more (no, it wasn't the exchange rate), so I am not pursuing it, but it was irksome, and I'd assume you'll pay a bit more than listed. The breakfast is surprisingly meat-based if you're vegetarian (there are no options here). The shower is the 'nozzle in the bathroom' type (no separate shower stall). The balcony is nice to have, but looks into a sometimes noisy courtyard. Finally, my refrigerator did not work at all, which led to a sad surprise.

Review 6：It's inexpensive, even by local standards, for a 'real hotel'. The location is not far from the train and central bus stations -- in theory, walkable for people like me (a bit less than 1 km), but if you have luggage to roll, keep in mind that the sidewalks are pretty bad.

Review 7：Bathroom walls and a little run down. I think I was the only person staying on the third floor so I felt a little bit eerie.

Review 8：Great host, very welcoming. Hotel was very quiet in August. Room nothing outstanding but functional. Air conditioning was reasonable didn't work fully but really can't complain for this price which included breakfast!

Review 9：Small breakfast with everything on one plate. I said the evening before I am vegetarian, but on plate was also sausage - disgusting. Staff don't speak english.
