Reviews for Senses Hotel Boutique

Review 1:Breakfast (Juices, pastry) old A 5 star bedroom with only one mirror in the bathroom? Connecting doors between bedrooms are terrible, specially when small Kids are on the other side Employees are too young and unexperienced, none of them could really help us with something

Review 2:great location

Review 3:The air conditioning was broken (which is articularly unpleasant in a tropical region for a so called high level hotel), the lock to our bedroom was broken (it kept unlocking every 10 min). We asked for a new room but never heard back from the staff. The staff was usually not helpful at all. The lock to the terrace was broken. The phone line was very poor.

Review 4:The location is perfect.

Review 5:Nothing.

Review 6:The hotel is beautiful and the room is very comfortable! The staff was very solicitous, offering us a courtesy for being on honeymoon. The location is perfect, overlooking the cathedral. Excellent care of employees.

Review 7:First night we were woken up every hour with street noise or noise from adjoining rooms. Further, the shower produced only scalding hot water. Very small room. We returned after a mission trip for four nights in this hotel and were given a very quiet , larger room. Here the shower worked fine. The hotel shows a lot of wear. We asked for the front desk to make us a taxi reservation for the morning we left, but it was not made. Staff seems very young and inexperienced.

Review 8:Location next to cathedral. Very good breakfast, comfortable bed.

Review 9:This used to be a nice boutique hotel. Over the years, no maintenance has been performed so that now this is pretty run down. So is the staff; nice, young but incompetent and not customer oriented. Not worth visiting anymore.

Review 10:Lighting int the room consists of lots of small spotlights and is not very bright. Couldn't find BBC or other international news channels on the TV.

Review 11:The location right on the main square is wonderful. Nice big rooms and very comfortable mattress for a tall bloke.

Review 12:Decor is trying too hard to be South Beach. There were seven people woking at the front desk, and it took over ten minutes to check us in. Longest wait of any hotel in Bolivia.

Review 13:Great location. Excellent room quality.

Review 14:wifi is terrible. only opens certain pages and very slow. I couldn't even check my mails. So its not good for business

Review 15:Excellent location and well decorated.

Review 16:Couldn't sleep at all. The location of my room for Saturday night was horrible. You can hear the music so loud until 4am. Even with my headphones was impossible. I was just spending a night because a fly connexion Had to leave the hotel 4:30 am. So I had 30 min of pease.

Review 17:Staff. Clean place

Review 19:I love a really hard mattress (orthopedic is just bearable) and found the bed was slightly on the soft side - but then I am not satisfied with many beds these days!

Review 20:The staff were courteous, responsive and helped every time a question was asked. The wifi was fast and free. Breakfast was great and the food very tasty and fresh

Review 21:Breakfast was good but twice it was later than posted and it delayed our day.

Review 22:The location was excellent. Facilities were comfortable, clean and attractive.

Review 23:We have asked recepition for a taxi to the airport one day in advance, but they didn't do it as they promised, the taxi has just booked after we mentioned when we check out in the next morning.

Review 24:Very good location, easily to accessible from anywhere.

Review 25:Check in was very slowly, it tooks at least 50 minutes, after we filled the chcek-in form and give them our passport to do the copy, their reception seems almost forgot us until I mention them. But they even forgot where were our passport copy they put when I mention them we were still waiting for the check in. This is the worst check-in time. The recepition also promised will send our receipt to our room 5 minutes later, but they didn't, we have came to reception to took it by ourself.

Review 26:Good location, cleaning room & good facilities.

Review 27:- Shower is not warm (30 degrees max because "the weather is warm there" according to the staff) - Noisy - Incompetent staff when it comes to solve small issues: they reply was always "we will call you back" and they never did so... - utilities didn t work (hair dryer, tv ...) - breakfast is basic

Review 28:Location

Review 29:Unfortunately I didn't think it was a five star hotel. If you think three and a half, four you will have a better expectation. Hotel fell short as follows: 1. On arrival at 4:20 pm we were shown to our two rooms and neither were ready. It was a poor start. 2. On check out we asked hotel to call taxi to airport and they did. A very old vehicle with two cracks on windscreen , jammed seat , no suspension and no belts in rear arrived . Really ? For a five star hotel this is best taxi service you can deliver? 3. Our room had lovely large picture window with view across lightwell through another large picture window four metres away of every detail of someone else's bedroom!! 4. Lots of blond beach wood . A bit like an ikea showroom. Beach scuffed by many luggage trolleys in corridors and looked grubby and poorly maintained. 5. Bed sheets cheap 6. Bedside tables bought to look nice but cannot place anything upon them as bend with weight.

Review 30:The location of the hotel is fantastic. Right on the main square. Great view of square at breakfast. The wifi is quick. The breakfast is very good. Staff were nice and tried hard. I liked the quirky furniture in public areas. Overall the superb location not really supported by rest of hotel offering. Consequently I rate value for money as only fair. I think this is reflected in the overall booking dot com rating which is less than you might expect given price .

Review 31:Insufficient lighting round the mirror in the bathroom.

Review 32:I had room 204, which had a nice view of the cathedral, although I think the best view is from one of the suites. Good breakfast and the breakfast room overlooks the main square. Great roof terrace for dinner. Excellent, friendly staff, especially Marcela, Rider and Yordy, who were all very helpful and attentive. I was given a bottle of wine and a cake on my birthday, which was much appreciated!

Review 33:Took suite room 201, great view to the plaza, but very noisy. 2nd night moved to room 311, less noisy but AA very, so disconected AA and room very warm. Hotel a bit rundown, windows a bit unclean, breakfast basic continental.

Review 34:Location next to main plaza, very attentive Staff, good Restaurant on top floor (terrace) facing the square, nice rooms

Review 35:The staff didn't seem well trained, and seemed a bit junior. As the restaurants were open to general crowds, it gave the hotel an "open" atmoshpere that I didin't like. Definitely not a hotel for families.

Review 36:The rooms were very comfortable. The roof top terrace restaurant was very nice, especially as it looked out over the main plaza.

Review 37:When you look closely rhe hotel need some renovations. The rooftop bar could be nice if they give it more atmosphere. However, the view over the square is nice. If you want to do some gym, ask a refer to another gym area in town because the gym equipment in the hotel are broken down and useless.

Review 38:Excellent location, nice staff.

Review 39:N/a

Review 40:Everything about the booking and senses hotel

Review 41:Nice modern place

Review 42:Great location! Excellent facilities!

Review 43:Muesli out of the package. Small swimmingpool without shade.

Review 44:Location, location, location, lovely roofterrass.

Review 45:Street front room very loud.

Review 46:Breakfast

Review 47:Poor sheets, no mattresses on sun beds, very poor wine

Review 48:Position

Review 49:Stop over 1day to go brazil. Best location to sight seeing in short time

Review 50:Everything was perfect

Review 51:The location. The staff. The pool on the roof. The ice creams !

Review 52:Modern furnishings, maintenance a bit neglected

Review 53:Decoration, swimming pool, gym

Review 54:Room, internet and staff.

Review 55:They were not always able to communicate in English and were not able to give immediate answers.

Review 56:staff was very friendly

Review 57:Weak lights, mainly in the toillet and the temperature of the beers. I mean, not cold enough.

Review 58:Kind attention of all staff and the size of the Bedroom.

Review 59:suite 201 is quite noisy.

Review 60:wow factor, lovely remember we are in Bolivia!

Review 61:Very noisy - walls are very thin.

Review 62:Good location.

Review 63:Room too noise because of the proximity with the street and lack of insulation.

Review 64:Vibe, Restaurants over the central place

Review 65:One of the 2 best hotels that I stayed in during my 20 days tour of South America....... Excellent!!!!!

Review 66:When we arrived noone seemed to be aware of our booking, so we had to wait while they found us a room. It was clear that organisation was lacking. Also, in our room there was no room service menu.

Review 67:We arrived late and hungry and despite a few hitches, the food arrived quickly and was great.

Review 68:Heater in the room is pretty poor, but staff brought us some good blankets. no hot water in the middle of the night. so I couldnt have a shower before going to the airport.

Review 69:Great location, right in front of the Plaza. Close to theather and nice restaurants. Staff is great! Beautiful building.

Review 70:The gym equipment was old, broken and just didn't work The pool is very small and only had 3 sun loungers Real problems with hot water in room and had to change room, but reoccurred in new room too and no manager at weekend to sort it out

Review 71:Lovely room, quiet (apart from very noisy air con) Very comfortable bed

Review 72:My room was noisy from traffic (Room 105), other rooms may be less so

Review 73:Staff exceptionally helpful, I was ill one day and they really went out of their way to make sure I was OK, but they were fabulous the rest of the time as well

Review 74:They had problem with the internet. Was resolved after 24 hours. I went to the restaurant La Pescana to have good internet drinking a coke....

Review 75:Great location, wonderful, helpful staff, big room and big bath, good breakfast, very strong coffee!

Review 76:The distrust of the staff of the hotel. Because we were a younger couple we had several discussions with the staff. We had to pay the room in advance, when I wanted to bring my girlfriend to the airport and I would return to the room. They did not believe us and they were checking the room if there were still personal belonings in the room. We asked for a taxi airport service, which they did not arranged. Really bad attitude towards us!

Review 77:The comfort of the rooms, beds etc.

Review 78:The equipment of apartments need renovation - our air condition worked like we have turbine inside, noise was horrible.

Review 79:Hotel stuff is very friendly and helpful, good location.

Review 80:Incompetent evening/night staff seems as if they had a lack of understanding of what 'customer service' means.

Review 81:great location just off the Plaza de 24 de septiembre. Good place to people watch and do some souvenir shopping!

Review 82:In their terrace overlooking the plaza there was loud music playing all the time as well as bright spotlights shining in your eyes during the evening which made it hard to enjoy the terrace. In their bottom floor restaurant there were 3 TV screens on all the time, one of them with music videos playing loud into the restaurant which was very annoying. Also the pool was dirty with algae and leaves in it. One night, one of the waiters tried to trick us into paying him directly for the service although it was included.

Review 83:The room was very comfortable and had a huge square bed that we could all fit in. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 84:Breakfast was not good we only had it the first morning. Hotel isBolivian 5 star not European. A/c fan was too high and nonadjustable. Pool area is tiny. Gym is outside and so way too hot to use.Cold and odd decor.

Review 85:Location is central. Bed was comfortable. Staff are very friendly andaccommodating. If you must go to Santa Cruz it's a fine option for afew days site seeing.

Review 86:Staff did not provide wake up call despite of two of them promising to do so. Staff said I could speak English if it was easier for me, but when I did they didn't understand me.

Review 87:Location, comfort, amenities, business center

Review 88:Little expensive, but considering our situation and the level of help we received, it was well work the money!

Review 89:The staff were excellent and went well beyond what we would have expected. Nothing was too much effort. We had some issues with out outing flight being changed by 12h, and they mad numerous phone calls for us and were great.

Review 90:Gym: too tight and the running belt not working. Staff not coordinated: when asked for the sauna it took them 2 hours to make it work when only needed 20 min. They forgot to wake me up once and the other woke me up one hour later.

Review 91:Location, value for money, kind staff, who effort for a nice experience in the hotel

Review 92:The shower is very ordinary. When adjusted to have hot water it is only a dribble. Requested information about laundry service and a laundry bag but it did not come. ( We found an outside laundry which was probably much cheaper.) Some information in the room about the hotel would be useful eg breakfast hours, facilities nearby such as hairdresser, post office, Although the Information is available from the desk sometimes things get lost in translation.

Review 93:The staff were always friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic. Liked the coffee and tea making facility.

Review 94:There was some confusion with my reservation. I had booked for twonights. When I checked in the registration was recorded for one night at$20 more per night. I had to change rooms the next day because the roomI had been given was reserved for three weeks. They adjusted the rate, but I never did understand the difference between the room I was in andthe one I was moved into. Through it all the staff was very helpful

Review 95:The hotel was very nice, especially for Bolivia. We enjoyed our shortstay. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and dinner on the roof wasvery enjoyable.

Review 96:I was not happy with the gym. The treadmill was not working. They needto upgrade their gym equipment.

Review 97:The staff were extremely friendly. They went above and beyond to makesure I was happy. In particular, Laura always had a friendly smile andwas very helpful, and accommodating.

Review 98:The service at the Terrace restaurant really sucks. We were waiting foran hour and the staff succeeded at ignoring us. Neither the drinks northe food we ordered ever arrived... Finally, we just left. As we wereleaving the staff didn't even apologize. Very, very poor service.

Review 99:Beds are super comfortable. The showers are probably the best ones inBolivia. Breakfast was really good.

Review 100:The floor rooms was very old and dirty, smok bad smell, the rooms wasvery noise, I had a problem with my charge, they made double charge. Itwas very dificult for resolve.

Review 101:It was not possible to heat the jacuzzi

Review 102:The personal was really friendly and helpfull. I liked a lot that it was located at a main place where you can go shopping or eat some stuff. The rooms were really clean and wiith a nice design.

Review 103:Although it was after 2pm when we checked in, our room wasn't ready. We were asked to wait and were offered bottles of water... But then weended up having to pay for them! This just seemed unprofessional. Theview out of our window was an interior "garden" with rocks anda single tree trunk visible against the next wall- kind of depressing. The top floor restaurant and pool area were under contsruction, which wedidn't know when we booked.

Review 104:Great location on the main city square. Nicely designed lobby. The roomwas very spacious, light and modern feeling. Beds were comfortable. Thebathroom was large and had plenty of counter space. The shower- once wefigured out how to work it- was hot and had great water pressure.

Review 105:The staff seems a little confused; they do not communicate efficiently among themselves. I arranged to be picked up at the airport and nobody showed up. No explanation, and the wanted to charge me for it.. Transfer from hotel to airport was fine.

Review 106:Location, comfort, breakfast. Pleasant staff. Once the booking was confirmed I received a welcoming letter from the hotel spelling out the charges, and their conditions.

Review 107:We had some minor problems with our aircon although that was fixed thenext day. Also we were in an adjoining room and could here everythingfrom the room next door. The neighbors were very loud in the early hoursof the morning which was disruptive. Most of the staff only speakSpanish although there were a select few who spoke English and wereattentive to our needs.

Review 108:A modern spacious hotel which was centrally located next to thecathederal, main square and a few resturants. The king bed was extremelycomfy and the flat screen tv was sufficiently large. Breakfast was thebest we have had travelling the last 2 month with a huge variety ofitems including bacon, sausages, omlettes, pastries, yoghurts andfruits. Wifi worked very well throughout the whole hotel.

Review 109:good location, service and value, would stay there again

Review 110:Extremely noisy at night due to hotel equipments

Review 111:Location right on the main square. Working wifi.

Review 112:Too noisy, especially air conditioning system

Review 113:Perfect Location, nice building complex, Amazing roof terrace restaurant

Review 114:Central location.

Review 115:Bathroom lighting was not great. Had a hard time getting ready

Review 116:Staff was absolutely helpful and friendly.

Review 117:Shower didn't work very well, and unfortunately the pool and jacuzzi were cold

Review 118:Comfy beds and good breakfast. Ideal central location

Review 119:All good

Review 120:Very bad food service.

Review 121:Good and quick atention.

Review 122:Due to the location it can be a little noisy in the evening.

Review 123:Central Location Clean Rooms Friendly Staff For Bolivia, it has very good facilities

Review 124:A little expensive

Review 125:Clean room, nice bathroom and excellent location at the corner of the main square

Review 126:great and safe location, great views of La Paz, superb and very helpful staff

Review 127:Good clean rooms with a lot of space. Good buffet breakfast. Nicely situated near the plaza.

Review 128:unfriendly reception / cannot be considered a boutique hotel

Review 129:location on the central square / spacious rooms

Review 130:Location.....facilities...comfort

Review 131:Quality and great location

Review 132:The staff were incredibly warm and friendly, very helpful.
