Reviews for Chateau Regina Hotel and Suites

Review 1:The temperature in the room was so insanely hot that neither of us could sleep. Tried turning the thermostat all the way down, but it did not affect the room temperature. Also, we chose this hotel specifically because it had a hot tub, only to find that the hot tub was torn apart when we arrived.

Review 2:A lot nicer than we were expecting. Clean. Conveniently located on the Trans Canada.

Review 3:On the website the hotel had a pool, hot tub and full restaurant. When we arrived the pool and hot tub were closed for repairs. The restaurant was also limited to fried food because of a Christmas party.

Review 4:The staff at the restaurant downstairs were very friendly and welcoming.

Review 5:When we got there, the front counter clerks made it appear as though our credit cards were declined. I cannot tell you how deeply angering that was...DEEPLY; this was in front of people. Both cards were fine (I knew that). He finally figured it out and did use our credit card (the same one that he could not process two minutes before... in front of an audience). The more I think about it the angrier I get.

Review 6:We stayed here for 2 nights. We got back to our room the second night after supper after being gone since the morning. Housekeeping had not been there. No big deal, but we were surprised. Then at 8:30PM, they knocked on the door. A little late for housekeeping services. The next morning at 9:30AM, housekeeping WALKED IN to our room, no knock or anything. Not impressed at all.

Review 7:The room itself was comfortable and roomy. I had added the romance package as we were staying in the Jacuzzi suite and that was nice, although there was some confusion whether it was available upon check in.

Review 8:No outside across from side doors.

Review 9:Facility was very clean and well maintained, however is dated and starting to show its age. Especially the bathrooms.

Review 10:Noisy, not current, poorly maintained. There was a distinct odor of someone smoking pot in the hall ways. I will never stay in this property again. Due to a special event in the city and of course rooms were hard to come by, they over charged. The value for the money was not there.

Review 11:Cleanliness was very bad moved the night stand to plug in a cpap machine found a gross toe nail. Had to throw away a pair of socks that would never come clean after walking on the carpet in the room. Hot tub was out of order but after seeing the cleanliness of the room it was no loss cause I wouldn't have used it.

Review 12:The staff was very friendly.

Review 13:I have never stayed in a darker hotel room. I brought over the tall room light and the room was still very dim.

Review 14:I had a special request that was ready for me when I arrived. Helpful staff at the desk.

Review 15:The front desk staff was rude and very unprofessional! The room wasn't at all what they had displayed on the booking.com website very misleading!! Very disapointing!!!

Review 16:The location

Review 17:It was a Thursday night I believe and it was dirty, dingy, people hanging out drunk at the front. We were 2 young females on a road trip but even at 26 this is so unappealing. People in and out, many of them looked high on something that's not pot. We went to bed that night basically thinking our car was going to be broken into. Not a place for the mature and sober. Also no toothbrushes which sucked because I had forgotten mine at the previous hotel.

Review 18:It was close to everything (Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Food)

Review 19:the pool was closed due to construction and no discount for this, bed was squeaky, unpleasant smell in hallways (musty or dirty feet smell)

Review 20:king size bed was comfortable, spacious bathroom, french doors, welcome basket, clean appliances, warm welcoming entrance

Review 21:The room given to us didn't have any Lights except one lamp in the washroom we called them twice the housekeeping guy wasn't able to speak or understand English was ridiculous experience staying there

Review 22:The bathroom definitely needs upgrading. The tub had cigarette burns on the edge and the drain was very rusty. The towels were really small.

Review 23:The room was clean and the staff nice.

Review 24:I don't know why this rates itself. I would have rated this hotel a 3. Yes it was clean but that was about it. Rooms were so small we couldn't move. We had animals so it made it worse. They gave us 2 towels for 4 people and they were permanently stained. We grabbed the swimming towels and they were stained and had holes in it. Bed was horribly soft as well as the pillows. The bedding is a hard duvet. Air conditioning was noisey and elevator small as we couldn't fit our family entirely in it. No breakfast. The hotel looks like it stayed in the 70s and got lost in the 60s. Swimming pool has too much cholrine and the hot tub was dismantled. For what we paid for the room..we got jipped.

Review 25:They allowed pets.

Review 26:Charged my credit card with room cost plus 50% when I checked in but this was reversed at checkout.Just seemed odd to do this this way. Bit noisy during the night.

Review 27:Price is good for what you get.

Review 28:There was hair in the bathtub. All 4 pictures in the room were crooked and had dust on top of them. The bathtub is beyond gross, so old, and the water was either boiling or freezing

Review 29:The only good thing about the room was the comfortable bed

Review 30:the general appearance of the rooms seemed to be a bit run down. In my opinion, there could be minor upgrades to the rooms. Plus you felt a bit squished in the rooms as they seemed to be in the small size. Generally expected a bit more for the price I paid.

Review 31:Beds are comfortable, and was in a good location. Also the swimming pool is nice.

Review 32:Windows leaked when it rained, towels soaked up the water. Noisy guests in the hallway throughout the night and our A/C unit couldn't drown out the chatter.

Review 33:Complimentary breakfast at Smitty's to offset the inconvenience of the pool/hot tub area being renovated. Reception and housekeeping staff were unfailingly courteous both upon arrival and departure.

Review 34:The beds were terrible. Only two double beds. Small rooms. Musty smell to the room. Fridge was leaking so the carpet was wet beside fridge. Hotel was very worn out. It needs a lot of renovations done to it. Front entrance to the hotel was awful. Wheelchair customers would have a very hard time getting in. They don't have nice ramps to get in. Pool was closed while we were there due to maintenance. Kids were disappointed with that.

Review 35:Location was good and the wifi worked well.

Review 36:The hotel does not offer a continental breakfast (however their brochuresays they do). But they do give guests a breakfast voucher for theadjacent restaurant. They do not, however, give a voucher to guests whodid not book their room directly through the hotel. Nowhere does it saythat on the booking.com website or the hotel's website. Pretty poorcustomer service.

Review 37:The staff here were very attentive, professional and friendly

Review 38:Booked a room with 2 queen beds and were told upon arrival that the hotel does not have queen beds but only doubles which was very disappointing especially since we had 2 young children and very little space for the 4 of us. Pool area was not terribly clean and there were lots of people loitering some of which were intoxicated.

Review 39:Staff were very friendly and helpful, location was great, and close to lots of restaurants.

Review 40:There was a dirty looking scummy film in the shower and the a/c didn't work properly in the sleeping area, so we were quite warm during the night.

Review 41:Our spa suite was well-appointed, although because we were in town for a wedding, we didn't make full use of it.

Review 42:After being harassed to the point where I abandoned half of my meal inthe lounge I was then followed (past the front desk!!!) into theelevator lobby to be further accosted! At this point I was too scared toeven get off at my own floor. Then there was a problem in the room so Ihad to switch in the middle of the night with a puppy. They alsodidn't offer to help me switch rooms and I had to go down and bravethe lobby again to get the new keys myself. Also if you are coming forthe jacuzzi tub, they spit out green bubbles. Don't stay here!!

Review 43:Nothing

Review 44:room was very small, rugs had several stains on them, bathroom fixtures were very old, tub , toilet was shaky when you sat down, no counter space by sink. bed was very uncomfortable, you could feel springs when you moved. no breakfast

Review 45:free wi fi, fridge.

Review 46:Well I was told by the front deck guy when I checked in that I would be getting $50 back as it was a deposit then in the morning a different front deck lady told me I don't get no deposit back as I was to busy to go on and on about it with her as I'm traveling across the counrty so I just left as it was 7:30 in the morning so I burned on that $50 deposit I was promised back

Review 47:Air condition they aloud pets the front deck guy at night was nice and cleaning lady was very nice

Review 48:I would like it if you could muffle the doors of the rooms so they wouldn't slam shut and wake their neighbours so readily. Everything else was great.

Review 49:I enjoyed my stay as my brother and his wife also stayed in another room and we could meet up for meals and have lovely swim in nice warm water each day. Coffee was always made up and fresh. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Review 50:Door slammed shut when closing- others did as well. Adjustment on the closer would help. It was very anoying throughout the evening.

Review 51:Bed was very comfortable, room was clean

Review 52:The staff is cardboard with zero personality. Badly run lousy security with noisy guests. Doors in rooms have no buffer so all you here is inconsiderate people slamming doors all night.

Review 53:At first glance, the room was decent. However, as we settled in we noticed that the room was not cleaned very well, that there were weird stains on the carpet and the bathroom was not clean. The room was also in sore need of TLC as most of the walls and furniture was quite worn. The non-smoking room had also been smoked in previously so the bedroom and bathroom smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke.

Review 54:The front desk staff was very pleasant and the layout of the spa room was very nice.

Review 55:Kids and family attending a hockey tournament so hallways, gym, and pool full and noisy until about 11:30 PM and then again @ 6 AM, couldn't get a good sleep. The fire door close to my door slammed hard with a loud bang every time it closed and shook the room.

Review 56:Staff was friendly, but when I complained about the fire door, "ll pass that on . . .' was all I got. Room was quite nice.

Review 57:Not the cleanest joint, but not the worst I've seen. Industrial area so not much to see. Housekeeping came at 7:30 one morning (but I guess that's why you put up the door hanger...)

Review 58:Nice bed, free WiFi. Very friendly and helpful staff. Smoking rooms optional (a huge bonus for me). The Smittys is consistent (mediocre but cheap and you know what you're getting) and there is karaoke in the bar! Also close to the freeway.

Review 59:The room was tiny, cramped, very stale smelling, no extra pillows (and none available!). Bathtub had a crack in the bottom and I cut myself on the toggle to turn the shower on. Hot tub in the pool area was not working and the elevator felt like it was going to fall apart. I didn't get the room I requested and staff made no attempt to remedy it.

Review 60:The thing I liked best, in all honesty, was leaving.

Review 61:Unfortunately my 8:15 wake up call came at 5:15 but it was a honest mistake and the night staff was very apologetic.I would like it if the hottub and pool were open through the night so those of us who have been traveling all day and don't get in till middle of the night can still get some relaxation before we go to bed

Review 62:I was welcomed when I arrived and was asked about my flight, my room was ready with my keys and I was given directions to my room. Staff that I met in the hallways were all very friendly. Check out was a breeze.

Review 63:But the booms could use abit more vacuuming around the edges of the walls and the windows really could use a good washing.

Review 64:The hotel was kept up for cleanliness.

Review 65:I booked this hotel because of the location and the hot tub and pool. The hot tub was not working. That was very disappointing.

Review 66:The quietness in our room was great. The black out curtains were great. The breakfast at Smitty's was delicious.

Review 67:The place smelled weird and the housekeeping carts were in bad shape

Review 68:The rooms were ok but other guests were smoking in their suites which made the place smell weird.

Review 69:I didn't like the way this do was dump was represented on Booking. Com . I book on here a lot, and have never been so disappointed !!!! Went to other sights after the fact, and got a realistic feel for this Dive!!

Review 70:Nothing to like ! Checked in went to a very run down Room, and turned around and Ran out off there!!! ...... Went and checked in at the Hilton.

Review 71:The tap for the tub was very loose, just a maintenance issue that needs some attention.

Review 72:We were able to get a late check out without any problem. Staff was polite and helpful. Bathrobes and bottled water were a nice touch.

Review 73:we got placed directly beside a room of partiers who were out all night but came home with a bang at 4am... lots of laughing, yelling and slamming of doors. the walls are paper thin so you can hear your neighbours having a regular volume conversation, so you can imagine how loud some noisy drunks would be. we called the front desk and he warned them (apparently a few times... like just kick them out already!) we got a discount of 15% the next day but I feel it should have been more. the hotel itself is fine (some things are in minor disrepair, but not the end of the world) but I dont think I would stay here again.

Review 74:rooms are clean, nice pool, smittys is right next door which is very convenient for breakfast the next day. beds were very comfortable. lots of shopping nearby

Review 75:The heat in our room didn't work properly. Also you could hear all noises in the hallway which makes it very hard for a baby to stay sleeping and there was grime and dirt all over everything. I will never stay again and recommend others not to as well. It's far to overpriced for the value of the room.

Review 76:I called the front desk to ask for two more pillows, and he said he's "the only person working and he'd have to leave to go find some." I said ok...and then he said he'd call me back IF he found some. It's a hotel, don't tell me you don't have extra pillows. I never got a phone call back and didn't recieve any extra pillows. The next night I followed the maid to the linens room and took 2 pillows myself.

Review 77:Quick cab service to the hotel.

Review 78:Didn't get the room I had requested Bathtub/shower was old and run down looking Hot tub was down for repair and was covered by hanging tarps in the pool area

Review 79:Bed was comfortable

Review 80:I didn't like that when I called and asked about my room and told them that it was an anniversary that they didn't tell me about the romantic package! Also, the soaps smelled quite nauseating

Review 81:I liked that the room was clean and the jacuzzi was exactly what I had hoped for!

Review 82:Was a bit rough! Blood on ground w Kleenex stuck to it not cleaned up! Had fruit and yogurt parfait was 4 pieces of honey dew melon from a pail and like a tbsn yogurt sprinkle with granola was $5???? Don't order that!

Review 83:Hmmm the room was good!

Review 84:When our room wasn't available upon check-in they upgraded us to the executive suite. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The location is great right off a main strip so access was easy to and from

Review 85:The fact that I booked the hotel in sept./14 was quoted the price of $129 a nite, when I checked in I was told the rate for the nite was$179/nite.(because everyother hotel had put their room rates up for Agribition 2014...

Review 86:convenience of having an attached restaurant.

Review 87:Have never ever had security check our room for damages before we were aloud to check out. For this reason, we won't stay here again. Had to wait 15 minutes for this. We are two ladies in our 50's on a shopping trip. Very degrading!

Review 88:Location

Review 89:I think they gave us the least desirable room available. We were near a rear entrance and although it is supposed to be key access only, I'm pretty sure it wasn't working. I have stayed here before and the room was really nice, but I think because we used a booking site, we ended up with their leftovers.

Review 90:The location is convenient to shopping, and not far from downtown. Regina is easy to get around in anyway.

Review 91:lots of loud noise in the morning [doors slaming etc] ,very touchy hot water in shower-make a slight adjustment and water was ice cold immediately, sure wakes a person up,lol

Review 92:smitty's restaurant and zahir's sports bar and chateau regina all in same complex - no need to go outside or drive anyplace- all 3 were excellent

Review 93:Stayed in a smoking room as it was the available. Horrible door in the room. A lot of noise in the hallway and from outside, runny faucet, broken phone. Would not stay again

Review 94:Parking a little strange. As well, the repair of the hot tub limited our access to the pool.

Review 95:Was a good room for the price was quoted. Friendly staff that always had a smile on their face.

Review 96:The staff member who checked us in was horrible. He tried to tell methat I had booked 4 rooms (I had booked 2), even after I showed him allof the confirmation emails and called booking.com to confirm, he wastalking to me like I was an idiot. Even after booking.com called him tosay that he must have printed off the confirmation twice (really? Comeon!), he was still extremely rude.

Review 97:Bed was comfortable, room was good.

Review 98:Room was Poorly lit with not enough light fixtures. Unfortunately we were on the main floor and it was very noisy especially early in the morning after a night of little sleep.

Review 99:Staff were helpful and cheerful.

Review 100:You could hear a lot of noise from the rooms around you, the elevator was not in very good shape.

Review 101:There were smoking rooms, the restaurant was decent and the bar staff were amazing. Housekeeping came every day and did a good job.

Review 102:Beds were too soft. Pillows gave no support. Pool was cold and no shallow bit for my youngest to play in.

Review 103:Customer service was friendly. Fast check in.

Review 104:hot water took a while to run-poor water pressure in shower, beds are worn out-need to be replaced, plug in bathroom(gfci)is old, plug on wall for a/c-loose(could not plug anything in)lamp cord behind bed would pull out everytime you sat on the bed, barfridge in room was extremely noisy, toilet kept on running all night long, door to suite had a huge gap in it & I could see people walking by door.

Review 105:location was great-close to everything.

Review 106:First the hotel put a $165 hold on my card, which I don't get back for 5 days. They have then charged another $103 to my card without my consent. Then my friend also paid for the room! I have called 4 times now to speak with completely useless receptionists who say the manager will call me back and never does!! BEWARE if staying here they don't do the same to you!!

Review 107:check in staff was rude when u asked for a debit copy for PRE authorization..and concerns on noise..they did not care..also we were checked in for multiple days and our keys cards had o be set up each day..pain in the arse..

Review 108:Dirt consisting of dust, food, etc. is visible around each piece of furniture. Carpet not vacuumed. Stains on carpet, walls, bedspread, and chairs. Strange lingering odor in elevator and hallway.

Review 109:Great location with being close to Hwy #1. Very friendly, personable staff.

Review 110:When I booked the hotel the final price was just over $100. When we checked in they preauthorize do my card for $180 because of our pet and a $50 damage deposit. When we checked out a few hours later after a very noisy and uncomfortable sleep I was charged $155. When I asked for an explaination (thinking it should be $130) the front desk man argued with my and kept praying my payment. I was tired of arguing and finally just paid the $155. WAY over priced for what we got. My experience at check out made me never want to stay here again. Way over priced. Not worth it!

Review 111:The hotel was clean and had a very convenient location

Review 112:The timer on the jetted tub was broken and the faucet and taps were ready to fall off. Parking lot is very small. We had to park on the street about half a block away.

Review 113:Bed was very comfortable.

Review 114:The facilities inside our room were falling apart. 1st the shower head fell off almost hitting my elderly mother in the head. 2nd the hook behind the bathroom door fell off. It showed 2 other sets of holes on the door obviously means that it had been screwd back before. Get a clue...the thing does not stay. Add glue or something to hold it there. 3rd they do not have a weighing scale for us to weigh our luggages so we can be sure we do not exceed 50lbs.

Review 115:The saving grace here is that the staff are nice and very accomodating and acts on our maintenance requests right away.

Review 116:Price was misleading. We thought we were booking at one price but didn't understand the cheaper rate was just for the first night. The pool was cold (heater not working) and the hot tub was very hot, but the jets were not working. The room was not well lit. I thought of buying light bulbs to put in the fixtures for our stay. The air conditioner in the room was not working well and when we opened our window, the staff was smoking outside.

Review 117:Location in Regina. Connection to restaurant.

Review 118:Hot tub jets (all but 1) were not working

Review 119:Hotel is clean. Staff were professional. Rooms are small and older, but beds are comfortable and adequate for basic overnight accommodation. Pool is small but nice, has extra towels. Access to adjoining Smitty's restaurant without going outside is also nice. Easy to find on Victoria ave right by hwy 11 interchange.

Review 120:Toilet not flush in washroom and noticed wet damp floor of bedroom carpet first night. The next day was moved to another room which was larger. Unfortunately there were problwems with the key entry on number of occasions as could not enter room Keys used x2 also recoded keys etc otherwise stay was fine.

Review 121:Location, staff friendliness and helpful, comfortable rooms, good value for money, free wi- fi free parking and availabilityFacilities

Review 122:the doors were poorly insulated on the rooms. so not only could u see the light all around the door. Everytime someone opened a door in our hall of rooms there was quite a thud. New hydraulics on the doors is needed. woke up several times from 5am on as guests left there rooms

Review 123:The staff was helpful and polite. The place was clean. And close to everything we needed

Review 124:No ice machine on third floor and room needed slight cosmetic repairs, burn holes in carpet

Review 125:The jacuzzi tub was excellent and the king bed was very comfortable- staff were courteous and accommodating.

Review 126:It was noisy, since it was a Fri. and the people didn't seem to care if they left dirt all over the carpet from their rooms to the front door. It is definitely an old hotel and we had to be moved as the deadbolt didn't work in the room.

Review 127:Nothing stands out.

Review 128:everything , did not try to accomodate us with my senior father,, rooms were hot, ac not working right ,, I recomend you take it off you list of hotels it is not worth the money

Review 129:nothing

Review 130:Pool room and hot tub area dingy rooms smell, and in need of upgrading. Found dirty sock in room under end of bed. nothing in gym worked properly. The pictures made us think it was a nice place but as soon as I walked through the door in new I was in trouble.

Review 131:Everything else. 3 rooms and all had broken bathrooms or beds. Gross showers. Power cut out and hotel old care less about it. Tried double charging me the same hotel room on same night and their horrible attendant( one in particular) tried telling me I was wrong about prices. Asked for discount and got nothing. So much for spending over a grand and getting horrible service ice and stay. Never again

Review 132:Restaurants attached to hotel. Layout of a king suite. Was close to good restaurants

Review 133:My reservation was for a non smoking room. It was not. But I did not know this until I was already in the room and unpacked. I ended up having to go find a doctor in a strange city to get asthma medication. I came back to the room and asked if the room was non smoking and they checked and said no that it was indeed a smoking room. I said I had specifically requested a non smoking room due to being asthmatic. They did give me an upgrade but the damage had been done by that time and I had to spend the rest of the night in the bathroom with the shower running on full blast just to be able to catch my breath

Review 134:the room was spacious, the staff at front desk were friendly, other staff I met down halls etc were very quick to greet me and make me welcomed.

Review 135:Air conditioner way too noisy. Carpark full so had to park in street. Over charged and it took numerous phone calls before charge was refunded.

Review 136:Pet dog allowed in room down the hall from us. Kept me awake with whining and barking. Pets should not be allowed in the hotel! Some of us have allergies to pet dander as well which can make for a rather uncomfortable stay in this environment.

Review 137:Everything else. The traps in the bathroom were outdated and leaked. The hot water only worked once. The window fell out, and the ac was so loud it was hard to sleep. Told the staff and they didn't seem to care.

Review 138:The bed was comfy
