Reviews for Royal Tulip Rio de Janeiro

Review 1:The rooms has a strong mildew smell. The beds was very uncomfortable. The housekeeping staff did not clean our rooms for 2 days and we had to call front desk in order to get it clean. We were given towels out of the bags which left lint all over our bodies after washing up. There were no towels in the gym!!!

Review 2:The location is great. The front desk staff were nice and spoke English.

Review 3:There is a lack of places other than the hotel to eat nearby unless you take a 30 minute bus ride.

Review 4:Very nice facility and easy walk across the street to a much better and less crowded beach than Ipanema or Copacabana beaches.

Review 5:The staff is useless...pretty much all of them!

Review 6:The location is amazing. Yes, you are in Sao Conrado but it's 20 min cab ride from Ipanema (R$20) and much more peaceful! The swimming pool is amazing and you only need to cross the street to be in a fabulous beach not as crowded as Ipanema or Copa!

Review 7:Staff again, just doing there job, old approach to customer service, the whole company has to update there staff training program

Review 8:Place in great location

Review 9:Bad room service as we arrived late at night and there was no restaurant facilities. . generally a business conference hotel so main restaurant closed in the evening! Bar food only available.

Review 10:Good accommodation but only because the room we reserved had been released to the conference taking place in the hotel. However we were given a suite instead...

Review 11:The rooms I booked are with sea view. Finally I discover that the hotel rooms are all with sea view. I recommend rooms with view on swimming pool. Then you have a wonderful view ( sea pool and huge mountain)

Review 12:The terasse restaurant with wonderful sea view. Security staff are every where, really safe to stay with family.

Review 13:Wifi in a room was very terrible. Can not access Internet via Wifi in my room. It is necessary to be improved.

Review 14:Hotel Staff can speack English very well. and they are very freindly. So I feel good for it.

Review 15:Arrival in car nobody to help with bags, receptionist extremely un welcoming and unfriendly. The place has lost its character and charm of former years. The 17th floor had the bonus of private free courteousy snack room and has been removed. This was a very great added incentive for paying the extra for an executive suite. The removal of this and treatment on arrival means that next time I will be choosing a different hotel as the service offered is most definately not en par with cost when paying for an executive suite, with the unfriendly dry attitude on arrival.

Review 16:Local e o visto

Review 17:Location is remote, construction work in progress, maid not picking up laundry, maid leaving dirty footprints from construction at room, maid not replacing towels, driping water from AC almost broke my neck in the morning sliping on puddle of water in room.

Review 18:nothing

Review 19:The food wasn't to my liking, prefer food from outside.. And also I could get an adapter to charger my phone..kinda weird the entire hotel didn't have any..had to buy one! They should have that provided. people travel their from the u.s all the time!! And also the cable channels was bad need more English channels

Review 20:I like the fact that the beach is more quite, the location is very beautiful the fiew from your room overlooking the beach and mountain depending on what room you get!! But over all everything was okay..

Review 21:the bed was not comfortable the bathroom was not comfortable

Review 22:the staff are very friendly and helpful breakfast had a lot of variety of food and was very tasty they give a great massage

Review 23:Free Wifi Speed was quite slow Quite far from Rio's places of interest

Review 24:Hotel Staff was very friendly and helpful Good Gym amenities Nice bar Overall great experience

Review 25:We arrived late and tired at the hotel and it took us more than 15 minutes to check-in, because the front desk clerk was not available. The free wifi is close to useless since it is so slow. Premium wifi is paid.

Review 26:Good breakfast, confortable bed.

Review 27:The bathroom was quite dirty when we arrived, but they cleaned it quickly when we complaint. The all hotel needs a big refurbishment: carpets are ripped as well as towels... I do not recommend do use the tourist service. They have been really rude with us and do not have done the tour we paid for.

Review 28:Staff is nice and helpful. The swimming pool is really delightful. The view is wonderful even if the hotel is quite far from all touristic points. It is a nice stay to relax and really disconnect.

Review 29:Our bedroom window had a large crack in it, was further from Copocabana and Impanena than we had hoped.

Review 30:The comfort of the bed and the breakfast, and the sea view.

Review 31:The room was nice, the view was incredible, the pool was fantastic. The staff was very helpful and didn't give me any hassle as some hotels do with my family of six.

Review 32:All was great. The swimming pool was a bit crowded. to get to Copacabana yo hjave to take a taxi, just 5 minutes and very cheap.

Review 33:The views from our balcony were amazing. Breakfast has everything you can imagine and very good quality. the room is big and classy and the bar has very nice areas to relax.

Review 34:Sao Conrado doesn't have much choice in restaurants and entertainment, travel to other parts of the city at night. wifi was not easy to access on more than one device and was quite pricey for the speed.

Review 35:Very friendly and helpfull staff, certainly all front office staff. Good quiet location with easy access to beach and public transport to other parts of the city. Complete breakfast included.

Review 36:Not enough staff on front desk. More people needed for working concierge.

Review 37:Mango and figs with breakfast... but wait or ask if they run out and they will bring more. Changed rooms for a soft bed. First bed was like concrete.

Review 38:Strong sewer smell in neighborhood and beach made it very unpleasant to stay outdoors. Food wasn't very good, just ok and very expensive. Staff was nice but poorly trained.

Review 39:Nice view, comfortable room.

Review 40:・I asked the staff that I can not get a wi-fi signal in the room, she said,it shouldn't be happen. That's it. ・I asked another staff is there any way to access the international airport by bus?,she said, everyone use taxi. That's it. Also, ask for the place to buy water and beer, she just said "go to bar". Great helpful stuff,

Review 41:Just a bit far out from the day to day craziness of Copacabana and Ipanema, but has a daily free bus to the city centre.

Review 42:This is a 5 star hotel with all the facilities and bells and whistles, I had truly remarkable stay and would recommend this place for anyone and everyone.

Review 43:The location of the hotel is just great, with impressive views of the whole area. It's isolation off Leblon (and the other neighbourhoods) is partially compensated with the proximity to São Conrado Fashion Mall (less than 100 metres, if the back door of the hotel is used).

Review 44:I arrived to the hotel I put the gps with the address you provide me it was incorrect it was off by 7. 3 km check in to the room no remont control no iron bath Rommel don't work correctly and the windo was busted is this 5 star hotel ?

Review 45:Room was a bit small compared to luxury "American" hotels but decent size for "Brazil" hotels.

Review 46:If you are looking for a great hotel, beach and pool away for the craziness of Copacabana, this is the place, and only a 15 min cab ride to Copacabana/Ipanema.

Review 47:Awful wi-fi connection No iron for clients Extremely shallow pool No sauna in gym

Review 48:If y like to relax in Rio. This is the place

Review 49:The Location is amazing. And also next to a Fashion Mall.

Review 50:Overpriced. Swimming pool is not fil d'eau as it showed on the picture

Review 51:Help from front desk

Review 52:Good fair 5*. Compared to 5 other hotels in Rio ourselves.

Review 53:a bit far from city central.

Review 54:fitness central very nice next to the beach

Review 55:A bit far from the main beaches so u will have to taxi it to the copacabana and ipenema

Review 56:There were used band-aids in the bathroom.

Review 57:Oceanfront.

Review 58:No coffeemaker in the rooms. I'm addicted to coffee.

Review 59:Tranquility of the area. View from the room. Delta-flying nearby. Beach.

Review 60:Location is too far away from any shops or any city.

Review 61:The cleanliness and calm atmosphere

Review 62:Internet, room and bathroom conditions, problem with hot water

Review 63:Ocean view, reception, gym

Review 64:Staff was friendly, helpful and spoke English.

Review 67:Wifi is poor

Review 68:Location (away from everything)

Review 69:Very good breakfast.

Review 70:Very very good area, staff are marvellous. Leblon beach right there!

Review 71:Only two guest relation managers. After a long trip it takes really long to check in.

Review 72:The view was amazing. Beautiful location. Breakfast was lovely.

Review 73:Every thing

Review 74:Nothing

Review 75:little expensive

Review 76:Location

Review 77:Staff is really not on the level

Review 78:The rooms need revamping to a five star standard

Review 79:Well positioned,beautiful views.

Review 80:Bad wifi no remote control for Tv

Review 81:Location and view helpful staff

Review 82:Beds were too soft.

Review 83:Breakfast was rich, fresh and nice. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Review 84:no wifi at all for two nights!!

Review 85:price

Review 86:The wifi conection

Review 87:Nice locación Good services A Beach almost private

Review 88:Old bathroom, facities in the beach

Review 89:Leasure area, foods and room

Review 90:wifi not working, remote control not working, bathroom at best 3 star

Review 91:gym was better and bigger, than most hotel gyms

Review 92:Wifi was terrible. Service was poor.

Review 93:The rooms were excellent. The view was great.

Review 94:Too far from popular beaches and tranportation was limited to expensive driver services.

Review 95:Rooms were comfortable and staff made good efforts

Review 96:Too much noise for construction inside the hotel, it was very badly

Review 97:Food and ubication Beautiful beach ,great views Nice room

Review 98:Room cleanness.

Review 99:Pool area.

Review 100:There was a big crack in the window of our room. It was very nice but not quite 5 star.

Review 101:Breakfast was excellent

Review 102:10% service charge in rate. Which was wrong chsrged, because it should be before tax, so they stole 8BR. Poor front desk personal.

Review 103:Clean and friendly and close proximity to all attractions

Review 104:sewage visible in the sea from the cliff top and could be smelled from the outside patio area. bathroom needed updating, shower temperature & pressure hard to control

Review 105:Kind of isolated off of Leblon Beach and dark at night. but had good security personel.

Review 106:Beautiful sights in Rio de Janeiro, impressive views of Golf Club, São Conrado Beach and the mountains. The swimming pool, bar and shopping inside hotel was very good. I change from 2nd floor to 7th and the view was excellent. Staff all of them great. Security of Building inside and out was a must in that area.

Review 107:The pillows and matress are not the best! I developed a back pain. The remodeling is good, but some items were not renewed (e.g. Bathroom doors). Our bathroom door looked terrible (inside below - room #519). The black-out curtains are old and did not close properly.

Review 108:Wonderful staff. Very nice and customer oriented. The overall renewal of the facilities is good.

Review 109:Staff is not kind and very poos customer service. The Hotel is old and expensive and the location is really far from main attractions in Rio. Check in at 4pm it's ridiculous.

Review 110:The service at the in-house burger restaurant was terribly slow despite I was the only customer.

Review 111:I got a very large and comfortable room with great views.

Review 112:Pool is something to work on in terms of space and extra lungers in the pick time. Formal restaurant need bit of attention in few detiles. And one suggesstion will be great to maybe invest in staff and offer small english classes, it will help a lot specially during upcoming sports events when Worlds eyes will be there. Thsi is only sugesstions.

Review 113:we did enjoy location a lot even fact that was many guests around still we could kind of find our space. Reception staff was very helpfull at all the time. Service was great. Formal restaurant bit to quaite, presentation was great, some flavors need more balance, somehow food in Aquarella was much better and staff were extra mile, accomodating extra requests.

Review 114:Hotel is very big and you might find some of the large open area's a bit void of atmosphere.

Review 115:Swimming pool area is superb with the view of the mountains and people Hang gliding/parachuting from there breathtaking to watch whilst you relax! Breakfast was very good.

Review 116:same places the hotel need maintenance ; we do not have a good experience on the Aquarela's Restaurant. the minibar at the room was not clean enough.

Review 117:Staff was very kindly. Great view for the ocean .

Review 118:Refurbishment of the gym, staff does seem to have a team spirit, we felt the hotel was a bit unpersonal.

Review 119:We used to go when it was IC. We like the location, the fantastic view.

Review 120:The renovation works (already under way) should include all rooms and the outside of the building (balconies).

Review 121:The location of the hotel: one of the most beautiful sights in Rio de Janeiro, impressive views of the Gavea Golf Club, São Conrado Beach and the surrounding mountains. The facilities (swimming pool, tennis courts, etc) are a plus. An upgrade in the room type was given upon arrival (great!).

Review 122:breakfast; too far from any bus stop or metro, as you need 30 reals to get to the center; paid wifi; late check-in

Review 123:swimming-pool with amazing view, room with the same incredible view.

Review 124:Like most of the hotels in Rio, I find everything a bit dated and the facilities are not as nice as one would expect for the money being paid.

Review 125:I liked the food in the restaurants and the bar.

Review 126:With the traffic problems of Rio, this was hours away from most places of interest. The breakfast room is a poor cousin of the rest of the hotel. No good restaurants. No vegetarian options but Pizza.

Review 127:The room size, views and furniture. The pool area. The music bar.

Review 128:Expensive indeed. And the final bill was quiet high.

Review 129:The best part was the location and the beach view. The staff were polite. The stay was comfortable and the rooms were neat.

Review 130:The hotel is located very far from the center of the city and far from the metro (and one-way taxi trip takes about an hour and 50-70 USD!)/ There is no exchange office in the hotel or close to the hotel. We have seen ants crawling in the bathroom

Review 131:Breathtaking ocean views from the balcony, delicious and varied breakfasts

Review 132:Maintenance should be updated. The swimming towels had rust stains whichcan be easily removed. The lamps in the closet needed to be changed...

Review 133:Location...at the São Conrado Beach and beside the Sao Conrado FashionMall where you find great restaurants like ct Brasserie, Chez L'AmiMartin, Sawasdee, cinemas, theatre and fancy shops. The view isastounding and it is not far from Leblon and Ipanema
