Reviews for Hotel La Fayette

Review 1:Everything was wonderful, our room was at the top of the hotel which was a very old building, the owners were very nice and helpful. We had the evening meal at the hotel and this was very good. We had the breakfast which was a hot and cold breakfast and was very good value.

Review 2:Unfortunately the owners/staff were not very friendly, we did not feel very welcome; ? wifi did not work in the room; ok downstairs in bar area; Steep steps but No lift in hotel so not good for more elderly people or handicapped;

Review 3:very cosy & nice restaurant in hotel, good food ; bathroom in room was lovely;

Review 4:Stairs are high and steep, would not suit someone with walking difficulties. Only CNN & BBC world in English.

Review 5:Good location, parking easy, lovely decorated rooms. Great value for money.

Review 6:Ontbijt is pas vanaf 8u (zondag)

Review 7:Er is alles wat je nodig hebt. Het is schoon. Ontbijt is lekker en ruim voldoende. Vriendelijk geprijsd. Parkeerplaatsen recht tegenover het hotel.

Review 8:Nothin really, but be aware that stairs to the top floor are very steep.

Review 9:We stayed here 7 years ago and at that time, although it had a certain olde-worlde charm, the place was very run down, although the food was very good. Pleased to say that it has now been refurbished and the public rooms have retained their charm and the bedrooms, whilst more modern in style are slightly quirky/eclectic and very comfortable with good showers. The food was as good as we remembered - simple, but good quality, well-cooked and nicely served. Rocheforte itself is very quiet, but close to the tourist attractions of Han.

Review 10:Not in the centre of Rochefort so you need to be fit to walk uphill.

Review 11:I arrived earlier than scheduled and it wasn't a problem. Small but incredible friendly hotel which ought to charge more than it does. Room was modern and had an excellent shower room. Breakfast was exemplary with fresh coffee, fried egg, juice etc, nothing precooked. I only stayed here because I couldn't get the date in Dinant but I'm so glad I found this little gem of a hotel.

Review 12:very welcoming staff. Excellent evening meal and fine Trappist ale. the town looked interesting, but we did not have time to see it properly. nevertheless an enjoyable stay.

Review 13:good location, nice rooms, above standards for a 2-stars hotel

Review 14:Just 10 mins walk from city. It is a very good distance for walk after dinner

Review 15:Nothing

Review 16:The staff were very helpful left you to do your own thing

Review 17:Spacious bathroom incorporating wardrobe .

Review 18:Staff was a little stand-off-ish

Review 19:Very nice hotel for an excellent price

Review 20:Very comfortable and convenient.

Review 21:No bad experience.

Review 22:Quirky clean and comfortable,do not be put off by rickety staircase , and volume of steps if you happen to be on top floor.

Review 23:Excellent breakfast and Demi pension evening meal. Very good shower.

Review 24:nothing

Review 25:the taste in the decor of the rooms and bathrooms the breakfasts the supper in the restaurant

Review 26:Very comfortable bed, great shower in bathroom, superb food in the restaurant in the evening and tasty breakfast.

Review 27:Reception in bar

Review 28:Modern and stylish room with good shower room. Wifi excellent.

Review 29:Room was great Food in restaurant was excellent Shower amazing Beds very comfortable Building facade very nice

Review 30:Busy road outside during the day. Parking is on the pavement. Rochefort is not a very interesting town and the castle is not open to the public.

Review 31:Close to motorway for overnight stay. Don't be put off by first impression. Room was small but the bed very comfortable and an excellent shower. There didn't seem to be many places to eat in the town so have the very good evening meal and then breakfast is free. House wine excellent.

Review 32:There was a fair bit of building work going on, which I had to walk through to get to my room. Broken bannister rail and very steep stairs to reach room. Would not have passed fire safety rules in UK.

Review 33:Location, easy to find.

Review 34:The heater on the room was turn off. It took hours before the temperature was fair enough. An heater witch is turn off it is an heater that make water sounds constantly when you turn it on.

Review 35:The staff was nice and helpfull. The hotel will soon be completly renovated. Rooms, bathrooms and common parts. Breakfast was regular.

Review 36:shower could do with a bit updating

Review 37:WE also had an excellent quality meal in the evening, top notch, and it meant free breakfast next morning, which was also fabulous

Review 38:No real issues to mention. You get what you pay for.

Review 39:The character of the hotel was what I liked the most - it was veryWallonian! The quality of the breakfast was very good & the host wasfriendly, honest & helpful. It's a good budget hotel.

Review 40:We do not speak much french/german (though we tried our best) and did not receive any information from the staff. On leaving I saw on the noticeboard that I think we could have had free breakfast had we eaten in the restaurant at night (19 euro per head = cheapest meal). This would have been more appealing, had we known about the breakfast. Consequently we found a takeaway one night and had a picnic in the room another, with no breakfast or morning coffee/tea either morning.

Review 41:We had lots of space and could turn up the radiators. I liked the freedom to cater for ourselves in the room, but was not sure we were supposed to. The downstairs restaurant looked charming but we did not use it as we were on a budget.

Review 42:No wifi.

Review 43:Good breakfast.
