Reviews for Hotel Le Vieux Logis
Review 1:One small thing was that we had requested room at rear if possible as had seen on another review that traffic noise would be heard at front. However we were given front room, but although aware of traffic it wasn't too bad.
Review 2:The character of the building. Comfort of room and bed. Friendly welcome and staff. Good breakfast. Access to pleasant garden at rear of hotel. Value for money. Short walk to bus stop.
Review 3:They couldn't take our credit card which left us short on cash. Didn't speak good English. Bedding and pillows were uncomfortable.
Review 4:Beautiful garden, good breakfast.
Review 5:Wifi service is poor, and difficult to get anything out of it. The room needs an update, and the building is in need of some TLC.
Review 6:Lovely back garden. The bed was nice as well. The town was a little disappointing
Review 7:The room was worn and in need of an update. The noise from the street was bad and the was an intermittent knocking noise throughout the night that kept waking us up.
Review 8:The innkeepers were cordial and friendly.
Review 9:Poor wifi performance on the 2nd floor. 8.00am breakfast - would have preferred earlier, 7.30am so we could get on the road. Overpriced room compared to three other Belgian hotels we stayed in that week...
Review 10:not quite as central as I'd hoped
Review 11:free parking great breakfast room comfortable beds nice size room wonderfully creaky cute garden out back, looks like it would be very pleasant in warm weather.
Review 12:The floor in our bedroom was very squeaky. Not annoyingly so and rather amusing trying to walk quietly.
Review 13:The place had much character and we enjoyed the atmosphere. It was spotlessly clean. The table crockery was beautiful. The lady owner was delightful. We were surprised that Rochefort is such a nice town
Review 14:Stairs to top floor are very steep and tricky to negotiate with heavy luggage .
Review 15:Not for lovers of modern facilities but very comfortable and well located .
Review 16:Fabulous place to stay Enroute in Europe whilst travelling. Comfortable rooms and good breakfast. A number of places to eat within walking distance for an evening meal which was great too. Will definitely use again when travelling in this part if Europe.
Review 17:Wifi only worked in reception. Rooms are very old fashioned and a bit stark. Badly disturbed night's sleep due to an intermittent loud banging noise in the roof area - I assume it was rattling water pipes or similar
Review 18:Good location for the centre of Rochefort. Old style hotel, very dark but very quaint. Helpful staff and an excellent breakfast with personal service. Parking for cycles and motorcycles in a secure garage.
Review 19:persistent musty smell in the triple room (in the "dependance"). maybe slightly poor breakfast.
Review 20:Rooms decor, overall old wooden interiors and peculiar architecture perfectly blended in the surroundings. Staff courtesy... even when pressed. Easy parking.
Review 21:Everything was fine for us!
Review 22:Beautiful wooden traditional furniture and gentle pleasant attitude of hosts. Breakfast was excellent , served in a calm and dignified manner in a beautiful dining room with carefully laid tables.
Review 23:Staff spoke only Frech, but we managed :)
Review 24:Location (castle, restaurants and bars nearby) Rooms are clean Free wifi Staff friendly and helpful Enough parking space close to the hotel
Review 25:No internet even though advertised. No drinks facilities in the rooms and the hotel had no options. Pillows were awful, a single flat pillow with no support
Review 26:Quirky, nice old place with character
Review 27:With the name Logis one might think it has a good restaurant. But as far as we could see the restaurant is not open in the evenings. We were hoping to eat at the hotel.
Review 28:Convenient location en route to the south, and an attractive and interesting area to explore. Lovely old building, attractive and comfortable. Good breakfast
Review 29:The experience of this bed and breakfast put a smile on our family of 9. Unlike any hotel, the warmth of this unique family-owned time piece made you feel at home. This was a highlight accommodation during our visit in Europe. Only wish we had another night to fully enjoy this historic beauty and the owners.
Review 30:I had made an amendment to the booking, unfortunately Booking.com did not pass on all the details so a cancelled room not been cancelled with the hotel, the language barrier made this a little difficult but it was eventually resolved - just a little embarassing.

Review 47:Nice Hotel and good breakfast
Review 48:Needed to work on my French! Not alot of English around there.
Review 49:Location, decor, personnel
Review 50:There is only limitted on-street parking (not private as stated). No restaurant for evening meal. Rather poor value for what we hoped would be a special stay.
Review 51:Charming old hotel and quite comfortable. The antique nature comes with old floorbaords and stairs so not very quiet. Guests should be prepared for this.
Review 52:Breakfast fab - lots of it and big pot of tea. Big room for the four of us. Jolly comfy beds. Lots of character. Perfect for our stay on way back to UK from Switzerland. Discovered the joys of Syrup de Liege. Plenty of restaurants in the town to make up for no dinner facilities at hotel.
Review 53:The hotel is located next to a main road used by tractors and large trucks with the window open this can be loud. Vehicle traffic ran throughout the night.
Review 54:Not listed as a bed and breakfast, but it is very close to one. The owners are extremely friendly and create a family atmosphere. The simple breakfast is fantastic, particularly the hot chocolate and homemade rasberry jam.
Review 55:Rochefort's castle seemed to be privately owned and not accessible.
Review 56:Lovely welcome (in French) from couple running the hotel which isgenuine "olde worlde". Freshly cooked boiled egg, which was afirst on our continental trip. Te area is beautiful
Review 57:Lovely atmosphere, quaint rooms, antique furniture, we were able to choose our room on arrival which was nice. The owners were friendly and welcoming and prepared a wonderful breakfast, it was like being invited into their home. The floorboards in the hotel do creak a lot but we weren't disturbed by anyone. Great location, the town and surrounding area is very pretty. We would stay here again.
Review 58:The ensuite has a shower attachment in the bath but would benefit from a hook to hold up the shower and a shower curtain.
Review 59:The interior of the hotel is beautiful, the owners very friendly and a good breakfast. Very reasonably priced. The family room on the second floor with a double and two single beds was plenty big enough for a cot which they supplied.
Review 60:Breakfast only from 08.00

Review 62:Terrific atmosphere and friendly service.
Review 63:nothing all was good...

Review 66:Our room was at the front of the hotel and with the windows open the road was noisy.

Review 69:Un acceuil chaleureux et tres professionel
Review 70:breakfast with delicious eggs from the owners own chickens
Review 71:Friendly personell. Wonderful breakfast. Nice room.
Review 72:Plywood walls of the rooms, the staff does not speak or understandEnglish, terrible brunch
