Reviews for Hotel 7 Colinas
Review 1:All inside the hotel territory is perfect. There are also amazing vicinities to those who are interested in the history of this Portugal colony. Not really suitable for any beach leisure.
Review 2:Shower leaked, staff fine in what they do but don't smile much
Review 3:Beautiful central location. Great gardens and pool and staff were helpful when approached
Review 4:There is a humidity/mould smell is some corners of the hotel. The staff was the least smiley people we met in our 4 weeks trip in Brazil and you even fear to have to ask for something at breakfast.... Reception desk gave very wrong information about which restaurants to go to (sending us to restaurants that were closed on those night, which is not a big problem elsewhere but in our opinion a big mistake in such a unsafe place as Olinda).
Review 5:This is one-off hotel, unlike any you have seen as it has managed to keep its arty 60's vintage feel. The garden is fantastic, large and full of art and beautiful varied plants. Rooms are big with private balcony. Probably the best place to be if travelling by car to Olinda.
Review 6:Like the all service in Brazil northeast, they are very ladyback and casual. The shower room 18 didn't espoiled my holiday but it was incredible rusted. Terribly uncomfortable! The plastic chairs around the beautiful swimming pool gardens are very ugly and uncomfortable. They are an insult for the natural environment. Hate it.
Review 7:If you re looking for a silence break during your noisy Brazilian tour, this is the place. Keep fingers crossed for not meeting any tourist group like me and enjoy it this beautiful paradise!
Review 8:Shower could do with a de-scale!
Review 9:Ideal place to chill after visiting a number of bustling places in Brasil. Great grounds with lush vegetation and swimming pool big enough to do some actual swimming. Best choice at breakfast of all the places we stayed in Brazil.
Review 10:Staff at reception a little difficult to deal with and not able to solve problems regarding food matters and 1h late check out. More like robots and don´t seem happy with their jobs.
Review 11:Location and swimming pool.
Review 12:The wifi is almost nonexistent
Review 13:The location is excellent. The pool is beautiful surrounded by mango trees, coconut trees and other tress. The staff is friendly
Review 14:The restaurant was inoperative for 4 days because the chef was absent. Only breakfast and appetisers were served. We asked for a taxi to do a tour of the city and the driver had no idea, was rude and surly (however, when we next had a driver for the airport transfer he was fabulous, Fernando). My flash drive with all its content was melted due to a malfunctioning (last-century) "business centre" computer. I mentioned compensation but no acknowledgement was made. Contrary to previous reviews, WIFI is available in rooms, but it is unstable.
Review 15:Location in a tropical setting with a refreshing pool, close to the historical centre of Olinda (though requiring a hefty climb). Friendly staff. Our room, overlooking the pool, was very pleasant, but in need of a renovation. There are renovated rooms in the lower floor.
Review 16:Internet was horribly inconsistent all over the property.
Review 17:The property is absolutely beautiful and located on the way down/up the hill from/to Alto da Sé. Although the resort-like property is its own unsuspecting, gated oasis in the middle of Olinda, guests can still enjoy the charming sounds of what is taking place beyond the gates of 7 Colinas.
Review 18:The grounds, pool, and ambiance are exceptional. We loved it. Breakfast was outstanding. The restaurant also provides good food at a solid value for other meals and drinks. We found ourselves eating in frequently.
Review 19:The room needs serious improvement! It had a funny smell when we arrived (maybe not in use for too long?). The furniture is too old and it doesn't look good... It had a nice balcony, though! Wouldn't mind to stay there again if the rooms and bathrooms would be improved, as everything else was very good.
Review 20:The location (very close to everything in Olinda). The gardens and swimming pool. The staff were really nice and helpful! The breakfast.
Review 21:No free safe-box. They charge safe box EACH DAY. I didn't know that. They don't have an insecticide despite of a lot of insects in apartment.
Review 22:Location is good. Good access to all sight seeing spots. Great pool.
Review 23:Never any problems
Review 24:Great friendly place, I have stayed here several times and have just made it my base for northeast Brazil because it is so perfect. Everyone is friendly and helpful, the pool is amazing and the location is perfect
Review 25:Beautiful grounds, gorgeous pool, pleasant rooms and balconies, and the breakfast is amazing!! You can pick your own tropical fruit off of the trees on the grounds. There are beautiful birds and we even spotted a couple little monkeys in the trees in the back. The staff was lovely -- very friendly and helpful. Location is ideal. I was there for work for some of the days, but my husband and 2 year old got to play! They had an amazing time. It was sad to leave and we would love to go back!
Review 26:Old/uncomfortable mattress, lots of mosquitos, wifi didn't work unless I was near reception
Review 27:Friendly and helpful staff, pool area with lots of seating, restaurant, location, good breakfast
Review 28:The decor is a little dated.
Review 29:The hotel has a fabulous outdoors area with a nice pool. It is an oasis hidden away in the centre of lovely Olinda. There was a good choice of food at breakfast.
Review 30:The breakfast did not measure up to other hotels similarly priced. The rooms were tired looking and not everything functioned as it should.
Review 31:The gardens were fantastic.
Review 32:Just they increase the taxi price if they call it. Better to go directly to the taxi station, 100 m away from the hotel.
Review 33:The hotel is in the centre of Olinda, close to a good taxi station and buses to Recife. The rooms are normal, but clean. The structure is in a very nice tropical park, the pool is nice and quiet.
Review 34:the food at lunch was lousy and expensive; 10% service taxes not mentionning that it is optional they to charge us, although that practice is ilegal in Brasil;
Review 35:Kindness of D. Rosineide who showed us the museum. beautiful gardens and location. Perfect for meditation and rest.
Review 36:room was not ready, when we came in at 15.30. service at the pool was done by trainees. It takes 30 minutes for every coffee. And to get the right drink they had to try 3 times, although we asked for a caipifruta which is not so exotix in Brasil .
Review 37:the garden and decoration of the hotel is a dream.
Review 38:Hotel is a bit run down and in need of a renovation.
Review 39:Great location. Hotel is in the middle of a private park with beautiful tropical vegetation. Hotel is very close to the historic sites.
Review 40:The menu for the evening is limited compared to a number of 1st class restaurants in the area & I felt this was the only area the hotel let itself down
Review 41:Great location, the hotel with the largest gardens & swimming pool.beautiful garden. Very helpful staff, very reasonable for what you get.
Review 42:Room was old and needs renovation, bed and furniture in the room are also old
Review 43:The choices in Olinda are very limited, so this hotel is really a great place to stay, it is secluded, has large outdoors area well landscaped and beautiful, the rooms however are old and outdated
Review 44:Nice oasis feel to the hotel. Good facilities - sadly swimming pool was out of action when we were there. We could have stayed there for longer which is always the acid test. Perfectly located for exploring Olinda which is sadly a bit decaying.
Review 45:The staff were all excellent and attended to our every need. The breakfast was great and really was a convenient start to the day. The location made it easy to walk to any of the sights in old Olinda. The front desk etl poured us arrange for a rental car and for us that was the best way to get around. Taxis and buses are options too.
Review 46:Internet/wifi worked sporadically, apparently a problem for the area with their provider
Review 47:Nice ambience Secluded garden and pool area to relax in English speaking staff Breakfast spread Location perfect for exploring the old town on foot
Review 48:The restaurant food was ok but not as good as other places in Olinda. The bar closed at 10.30pm but there are other places to drink in town so neither caused too much of a problem.
Review 49:We went for a luxury room and it was spacious and comfortable. The hammock on the balcony was an added bonus. The staff were very friendly and helpful and were tolerant of our poor Portuguese
Review 50:The resort could stand to be updated. A little pricey for what it is.
Review 51:Great location for sight-seeing in Olinda. Good breakfast. Free caiprinhas (liked but hated the next morning). Friendly staff. Conducive to interaction with other guests.
Review 52:Nothing, except the "beach" in Olinda is not very pleasant. But this is no fault of Hotel 7 Colinas.
Review 53:The setting, natural beauty, peace and quiet, and excellence of the staff combined to make our stay at Hotel 7 Colinas a memorable and first-rate experience.
Review 54:We had to leave.
Review 55:Free trays of snacks whilst having a beer and watching the World Cup games on TV. Wonderful, friendly & attentive staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Great pool surrounded by a mini jungle. Lots of wildlife to observe.
Review 56:Not close to the great beaches in Recife.
Review 57:Very clean and comfortable. Conveniently located in historical Olinda. Very friendly staff. Great location for access to World Cup venues.
Review 58:Mattress could have been more comfortable.
Review 59:Beautiful hotel grounds, whimsically decorated. Nice-sized room. Friendly staff a sufficient number of English speakers to be helpful. Nice breakfast buffet and evening "happy hour" snack buffet.
Review 60:Everything was fantastic!!
Review 61:The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. It feels like a tropical paradise with a fantastic swimming pool. Even if you don't care about seeing anything in Recife, you could spend a couple of days just enjoying the grounds of this hotel.
Review 62:We had a suite but the room (other than the bedroom) was a small empty room that served no purpose. If the setting had not been so pleasant I'd lower my rating.
Review 63:Staff was very helpful and solicitous. Good food and wonderful grounds full of greenery and set off from neighboring buildings.
Review 64:Nothing. Staff not helpful. AC didn't work moved to another room it was fair. Moved sheets from one room off the bed to another. Grounds were beautiful but I do not recommend.
Review 65:The hotel is set in beautiful grounds in the heart of Olinda - a must see whilst in Brazil. The pool is great as it is hot and humid here. But what really made this hotel great were the staff. They were extremely friendly and could not do enough for you. Thank you for making our stay so memorable

Review 80:rooms standard, bathroom a little dated
Review 81:Park and pool very nice
Review 82:A bit pricey for the region
Review 83:Quietness
Review 84:I thought the breakefast would be better and the room had a terrible musty smell.
Review 85:The nature
Review 86:The noise in the room coming from the upper level, due to tiled floors
Review 87:Excellent quiet location, nice breakfast
Review 88:The room furniture and the bed cover of the bed!
Review 89:The gardens and the swimming pool of this 3stars hotel
Review 90:stayed in the rain forest in the middle of a town

Review 93:The safe in room was too small to accommodatey iPad. Also it was a key lock which is it convenient
Review 94:We liked the location and the pool
Review 95:To stay in this hotel was really totally relaxing! We really enjoyed it everytime comming back from our sightseeing in Olinda.
Review 96:The closure of some night access, it means either you have to Climb Stairs or walk further.
Review 97:Most Everything, Beautiful Settings, Peaceful
Review 98:nothing.
Review 99:pool area is amazing! garden is wonderful and the restaurant offers a great breakfast! location is right in the historical center of Olinda
Review 100:Breakfast could have been a bit better.
Review 101:The pool and grounds are amazing!
Review 102:Mosquito
Review 103:Nature
Review 104:Hotel needs some refreshing, but is probably the best you can find in Olinda.
Review 105:The staff and the grounds.
Review 106:Lovely grounds, interesting artworks, plants
Review 107:Swimming pool was being repaired; ugly plastic netting marred garden.
Review 108:Excellent location and grounds Friendly, helpful staff Excellent caipirinha!
Review 109:Location magnificent. Lovely pool and grounds. So quiet and peaceful
Review 110:beautiful little town with colorful colonial building, lots of arts & crafts, music, and awesome view of Recife..
Review 111:Lack of toiletries and very simple bathroom
Review 112:The location , the place is extreme beautiful
Review 113:Very little to complain about. My only suggestion would be cushions for the lounge chairs around the pool, but obviously that's very minor. All in all, very enjoyable.
Review 114:Beautiful place in a great location in Olinda. Bartender makes great caipirinhas!
Review 115:Had to wait long at checkin because everybody arrived at the same time, even longer than some guys arriving after me (but I needed to have lunch anyhow), a little inflexible to extend checkout by an hour
Review 116:Excellent location (historic center, bus connection to Recife, walk on the beachfront), very friendly and helpful staff, eager to talk English to all the international football visitors, great garden and pool area, nice breakfast buffet
Review 117:We went during the World Cup so the room rates were significantly higher than what they normally are. Only a few staff members understand English, but they still worked hard to communicate with us.
Review 118:The grounds were beautiful - lots of trees and other greenery. The staff was very nice. The hotel is also in an amazing location in Olinda - very close to the cab drop off and walkable to anything.
Review 119:Slightly pricey, maybe due to World Cup. Some bathroom fittings broken or not working. Slight musty damp smell.
Review 120:Lovely ambience, great staff, extensive gardens, pool and central to many things.
Review 121:The hotel is rusty, the service is not good and it is definitely overpriced.
Review 122:The place is in an excellent location and in general the accommodations are OK.
Review 123:Sometimes the service was a little slow, but perhaps I needed to adjust to the pace of the North East!
Review 124:Beautiful gardens, nice decor. Great pool area. Delicious breakfast.
Review 125:The mattress was unconfortable, the bathroom venting system needs to be modernized, and the exercise equipment was a bit outdated and was not working well. Furthermore the front gate should be manned in order to increase secure.
Review 126:Location and the outdoor ammenities were excellent providing a great place to relax. The overall design of the hotel was well planned and several of the staff was very friendly and always ready to help when needed.
Review 127:Not so many staff can speak English though they are friendly. They forgot to arrange a taxi for me, but never apologize for that, blaming that I didn't confirm, which I did.
Review 128:The location is good. Very close to go anywhere.
