Review 1：There was no air conditioning and all the rooms faced onto one of the towns main streets from the station. This made it quite noisy and difficult to sleep. The problem was compounded by no air conditioning which meant that if you opened the windows to let some air in the street noise would be amplified.

Review 2：The hotel had more of a B & B feel to it which was nice and the rooms were very clean. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was extremely nice.

Review 4：Mieke was not only the innkeeper, but an excellent host! She does all she can to make your stay pleasant. Breakfast is very good, and the coffee is wonderful. It is more like a B&B than a traditional hotel. Both the bedroom and bath are huge by European standards. The bath is totally modern by any standards. The Tijl is in the process of making many upgrades to the hotel. Additionally, the innkeepers have a restaurant along the canal (I can't remember the name) that I would highly recommend - delicious salad, super view!

Review 5：Had to ring a telephone number on the door to get let in on arrival in the rain. Wi-fi, didn't seem to work. Very quirky let yourself in through rooms piled with personal items of the owner. Don't get me wrong though it sort of added to the charm and I would return.

Review 6：Clean and tidy room / ensuite, not bad location on the outside of the town for short walk into centre. Good breakfast. Very trusting and accomodating.
