Reviews for President Hotel

Review 1:There wasn't shoes polisher in the wardrobe which for 5 stars hotel is unusual.

Review 2:We liked the beds, they were very very comfortable despite the fact that the furnishing look a bit aged. The location is very good - 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral along the Jewish street where are located the most expensive boutiques. The breakfast is also very good with big variety of food.

Review 3:NOT a 5 star hotel. Room was old. TV was at least 20 years old. Broken curtain so light illuminated room at all times. Internet did not work. Old and dirty carpet.

Review 4:Location

Review 5:Although breakfast buffet was great, the service kept taking our plates from the table although we were still eating. They came back every minutes or so and spoilt the atmosphere. Parking fees are overpriced (but it was not a surprise) They could not provide me with an aspirin and sent me away to a drugstore. Five stars, really? Booking was cumbersome and I had to get the help of Booking.com to be charged the right fee for the extra bed.

Review 6:Clean enough although a bit old. Central location. Friendly enough and good overall service.

Review 7:The hotel s structure is old ... The service is not like a 5 stars.. One day we gone out of the room at 3 pm and no one clean it till the day after ... In a 5* it is unbelibeable ...

Review 8:Furniture is outdated

Review 9:The location and breakfast were excellent and the piano bar is a lovely compliment to the hotel. Staff also very helpful and attentive.

Review 10:Spacious room, beautiful view, excellent breakfast selection (their pate on a freshly baked baguette made a great start of the day), close to the shops, restaurants. Piano bar area is lovely. I like everything. It was my 3rd time staying, and I will come back again.

Review 11:Nothing bad to be honest.....but i believe in giving good hotel rooms to guests, ie-up-grades to river views as standard if rooms are free from use. Just makes it more pleasureable.

Review 12:Loved it all :)

Review 13:We tried to arrange a shuttle for airport pick up - but the shuttle never arrived. We were pretty frustrated when we arrived because of this. The receptionists claimed that they never received our e-mail and offered only an apology. It's hard to know if this is really their fault or booking.com's fault for not forwarding our e-mail to the property in a timely manner. Either way, we had initially asked for information (through booking.com) more than 3 months in advance and the hotel never responded. Seems like they don't respond well to e-mails sent through booking.com.

Review 14:Big rooms. Very close to old-town square. Friendly staff.

Review 15:No jacuzzi as stated on hotel info. No one eating or drinking in the hotel in the evening so lacked atmosphere. No spare 2 pin adapter at reception also stated on hotel info. Receptionist lovely on check in and not so friendly after that.

Review 16:Hotel was warm and clean and in a good location.

Review 17:Parking rate is insane, 40EU per day and we still had to vacate parking lot by checkout time.

Review 18:Room was huge with a fantastic view on the river. Separate shower and bath, and all the amenities. Location a 5 minute walk to old town market.

Review 19:The building doesn't look much from the outside. Location is within 10mins walk of Charles bridge and of Old town square.

Review 20:Room was spacious. Lobby was always warm and there was a piano player in the bar in the evenings.

Review 21:Wonderful location, breakfast area overlooking the river. Spacious room, comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff. I had a small problem with my reservation, which was resolved easily and painlessly - a special thanks to Kamilla for that. Lovely lounge area with live piano music. Highly recommendable.

Review 22:I think the staff of 5 stars should be more responsible according services which providing, for example i ordered wake up call, but nobody wake up me and told me just sorry; also i ordered taxi transfer service and it was late 8 min; so if we are talking about 5 stars hotels and rating system for hotels, this hotel is not 5 stars hotel, it's max 4

Review 23:I liked the location of hotel, the view from windows and during breakfest

Review 24:No recognition or reaction to requests made at booking, specifically early check in, late check out and dietary requirements. As these were important to me I would have chosen a different hotel if I had been told these were not available. There was no ability to confirm or even get information as to their status prior to payment. The staff made no specific attempts to accommodate these requests beyond saying "sorry I cant do anything for you"

Review 25:Position Room size

Review 26:Smoking smell in thé lobby bar.

Review 27:The location is fantastic: the view from my room was thé castle of Prague (Just Wow!) The heating was excellent and breakfast buffet was sont good and with lots of variety: I think I gained 5 pounds during thé week!!!!

Review 28:- cigarette smoke and kitchen smell in the lobby, even when you pass from the entrance to elevator - you will stink. - breakfast could be better for the 5 star hotel.

Review 29:Price, privat parking garage, perfect location, heating, personal, view on the river.

Review 30:It needs renovation . We didn't have internet in the room for two days and the staff was not very helpful after a lot of complaining we changed room . not good insulation very noisy

Review 31:The room was large and we had a view of the river near the historic center

Review 32:Before we booked we called the hotel to confirm breakfast could be served in the room as stated on their website and on booking.com, only to told when we arrived we would have to come down which was very annoying, when we had got in late the night before. Also it shows a kettle in the rooms Nothing there, there was no trouser press, robes or slippers as stated in the room details. View from our room was the hotels back yard with bins and car park.

Review 33:Hotel room was very clean and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was good, but the dining area was very busy and it we had to wait sometimes for a free table.

Review 34:The room even though spacious, the furniture were not only old-fashion but also old. I wouldn't considered this for a 5-star hotel but rather for an average 4-star.

Review 35:Great hotel location and room view to the river and Prague Castle. Spacious rooms. Quite good breakfast. Very polite and helpful personnel.

Review 36:Probably cheating with cabs/taxis. The concierge ordered a car, it came a private looking one, the cost (2 km) was 5 times higher and without receipt, than backwards with a normal cab/taxi with regular invoice.......no comment...

Review 37:The room was quite hot compared to North America, they weren't able to change that so we were sweating every night.

Review 38:Excellent location, large room, restaurant is good

Review 39:The moquette in the floor was dirty and was smelling so bad. Bathroom was very small. It's not a real 5 stars. Maybe it could be a normal 4 stars.

Review 40:Position was very good. Just a few minutes from the center of the city. Good value for the price.

Review 41:Average wi-fi reception (although I partially blame it on my iPhone) at room 227 where we stayed

Review 42:We had an early flight and arrived at the hotel around midday. Our room was ready and we checked in immediately upon arrival although officially check-in begins at 15:00. Room was cosy and clean with a nice view of Vltava river; staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much:)

Review 43:Amazing views with location by the river and historical centre easy to walk. The staff was friendly and helpful. We got a room on the top floor with balcony view of Prague churches and the river. The room was quiet and clean little outdated but it adds to the old-time charm. King size bed with king size mattress and pillows. Carpet on the floor! Tick curtains, great cover up in the morning. The air conditioning worked well, satellite TV with lots of channels. The bathroom with bath tub and shower is truly full extra! Thierry Mugler Hair and Body Shower Gel! Internet worked perfect in our room, featuring free WiFi. Breakfast till 10:30 with hot variety of choices in a nice environment. We loved the Spa Sauna after a long day to chill out. It is so much recommended for its price. We had a great time here! Thank you !

Review 44:The outside of the hotel looks very old and needs a serious reconditioning. Also, I wouldn't rate the hotel at 5 stars, but maybe somewhere between 3-4.

Review 45:The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean. In the morning we had to leave very earlier to the airport, so the staff prepared breakfast bags to take away. Breakfast was also very good, and there was a good variety to choose from. We really liked the location, everything was within reach so we never used public transportation.

Review 46:- not a 5 star hotel (maybe a 3) - tv was really bad, the only english channel that worked was CNN - Wifi didnt work sometimes

Review 47:- the view was great - room was very clean - breakfast was good

Review 48:Your day time staff needs to learn how to multi-task more effciantly and be more organized. I also was told to pay for my room when I checked in upfront. The people beside me were told the opposite and was just asked for a creditcard. This I thought was very odd and didn't seem correct.

Review 49:They do not buy back money you exchange, and parking was 40 Euro which is steep. Wifi was spotty.

Review 50:great location, had travel guide in lobby along with gift shop. Spoke great english and exchange money for us at a great rate.

Review 51:Old hotel with no ambience. TV set is from 1975, or older, no cleenex in bathroom, normally pretty standard in this category. They charge 40 EUR per night in garage-insane. Breakfast is pretty big selection but did not like the quality of the food: never ate such an orange with absolutely no liquid content, pineapple same, omlette strange taste and texture- but the latter can be a matter of taste.

Review 52:The location is awesome, they have garage, albeit very expensive. Room is spacious with nice view. Staff was mostly friendly.

Review 53:Some rooms have very bad WIFI. Car-parking is VERY VERY expensive: 40 Euro pr. night !!!

Review 54:Good adress close to center. Good buffet breakfast. Friendly staff.

Review 55:Absolutely nothing !!!

Review 56:Very friendly staff, large clean comfortable room with a great big bed. Excellent breakfast - tasty and fresh. Excellent piano bar

Review 57:The connection of wifi in room is horrible. We were told by receptionist that is our phones problem when we do not have any issue elsewhere. Stayed for 7 days and blankets are not changed. Breakfast can be much better.

Review 58:The service of concierge is great, thanks to Diana and Peter.

Review 59:Near the river and bus station, close to the square. Breakfast is really good ans the stuff helped to call us a taxi to the airport. The room view is So good in the balcony.

Review 60:The staff were very cold, not helpful at all especially in the restaurant , where the buffet was worse than a hostil in Zambia . I will not even give it a 1 star depending on the restaurant , when I asked for sugar the waitress gave me powder cream instead . It was the worst breakfast I had in my life

Review 61:The poor maintenance. Wash basin and shower unit didn't drain water. It doesn't match a five-star standard at all.

Review 62:The location overlooking the river, the large quiet room, and the piano bar.

Review 63:I had to contact the hotel directly because I was arriving late and they replied instantly and were extremely accommodating. For a hotel in the city it was so lovely and quiet.

Review 64:Dirty dirty room, so bad they moved us out of it. Air con not working, crazy hot. We payed for a superior room but no robes, no slippers, notea and coffee making stuff, no shampoo, just awful Moved us into anexecutive room which they told us was the best room in the hotel! No teaand coffee making stuff, when I went to the bathroom the door handlecame off in my hand and a panel on the bath was hanging off. Air con notworking in this room either, shower hanging off and soap holder broken.Worst of all plu fitting broked and gave my wife an electric shock!!This is no way a 5* hotel, it is maybe 3* at best. Do not stay here.Breakfast was awful, hot food was cold, flies all over food and juice, staff rude, room so hot it was uncomfortable

Review 65:Nothing, worste we have ever stayed in

Review 66:Need serious renovation. Windows are like 50 years old, no sound insulation. Requested early arrival but receptionist did not seem to care. After just one simple phone call the room was prepared. Typical American service. Totally over priced as in many Manhattan hotels.

Review 67:Location & view. Nothing more or less.

Review 68:service was terrible and staff are composed of better ones and worst . we were locked out the room at 11pm and staff refused to help until they heard we were going to call policemen.

Review 69:location is good

Review 70:The staff are rude and ignorant. Inefficient and most unhelpful. Would never return to this hotel! The concierge and baggage man were nice but the reception staff were rude to say the least. I never write reviews but felt this stay warranted a review. We had no air conditioning in the room and temp was 33-36 deg daily and after much complaining we were given a fan after a supposed technician came to "fix" the a/c. No other satisfaction and that's what we got after complaining at least 6 times! Most unhelpful and all we got was we are fully booked. Not good enough!

Review 71:The spa was lovely although seemed a bit rushed when we arrived for our appointment but overall was lovely. The breakfast was also nice and there was a wide variety of foods and drinks available.

Review 72:Slow Wi Fi. Uncomfortable pillows. Little over priced. Very bad air conditioning in room and it was extremely hot in Prague at this time.

Review 73:Good location.

Review 74:This is NOT a 5 Star Hotel by any means - be prepared for SMOKING in the Lobby / Bar area (open space area) - bland breakfasts - poorly trained staff.

Review 75:The beds were comfortable - that's the one saving grace for this place.

Review 76:A kettle should be provided in the room without a charge.Overall was great!

Review 77:This is my second visit. The reception staff and concierge were very helpful. Very convenient location. Was given the same room I occupied the last time with a beautiful view of the castle river and bridge. The breakfast was excellent!

Review 78:I didn't like that I paid my part of the deal wich is included air condition and the hotel have not air condition but a fan and we have asked them and many guests for maintanents but they where lieng to us and said the technition fix it and nothing was done.

Review 79:The location is quiet beside the river and also 10minets walking to the old city

Review 80:nothing as such. It a perfect hotel.

Review 81:Just in the river. Prague boats station is just opposite to the property. Tram and bus stop is 1 min walk. Metro is 2 min walk. The Charles Bridge is about 10 minutes walk. Superb view of the river.

Review 82:Not a five-star hotel, issues with the wellness, demotivated staff, old furniture, dirty rugs, issues with the hot water and the safe in the room.

Review 83:Location, breakfast

Review 84:I'm not sure how it claims to be 5 star. We had no wifi in our room and no one did anything to fix it, and someone came into our room at 8:30am. Staff didn't smile or want to help.

Review 85:The room was huge.

Review 86:5 star I won't give even 1 star. Staff was unhelpful with badattitude and very rood.hotel was dirty and dusty under the beds it wasplastic bottles and garbage.Rooms smell like throw up big box tv...shower,toilet and safe was broken. We hardly spend one night and itwas just terrified we moved to the hotel next door.because we cant spendno even one minute .I wish I can put pictures here so you can see howreally bad it was.they just playing with deals...they make people thinkis good deal hottel but trust me is not!!!! And you can not canceled sowhen you get the and realise is like the night mare the front desk staffmakes fun off you than you can not cancel and you will stay you wantedor not !!!!

Review 87:It was nothing good about it.

Review 88:There was water seepage on the carpet near the entrance to the bathroom causing the carpet to be soaking wet and when we told the front desk about it they simply didn't take it seriously and did nothing about it. We asked to switch rooms but they said that they were full.

Review 89:Well lit large room with nice bathroom. Excellent free internet in room. Good buffett breakfast included in price. Concierge was nice and helpful.

Review 90:Never been a 5 star hotel max low end 4 stars. Breakfast was simple, looked like 3 stars. Whole hotel needs to be updated. Wifi hardly worked. Piano bar but no music.

Review 91:Location, big room, good bed

Review 92:For 5 stars rating this hotel is very substandard. Executive suite looks like a standard room in an average 2-3 stars hotel (e.g. trashy wallpaper, old CRT TV, no tea/coffee set in the room). The description and photos of the rooms at booking.com are not up-to-date and not all of the facilities listed on the website are actually available. Air conditioning is not efficient enough, it was extremely hot in the room. Parking is available only for 10 cars, 32EUR per day which is highly overpriced.

Review 93:Live music in piano bar perfect for a chillout. Bathroom was OK.

Review 94:Terrible beds, smoking in the hall and at the bar, dirty carpets, general poor equipment that has not been updated for years (TVs etc.), tiny bathroom, poor breakfast buffet, somewhat demotivated staff.

Review 95:Location, in-house Thai massage

Review 96:From the outside, he building looks horrible relative to other architecture but who cares about that. Some of the staff were rude at times which was not warranted.

Review 97:Breakfast was amazing (try the scrambled egg) - Location was superb - Most of the staff was good

Review 98:free wifi connection poor very intermittent, room too warm could not turn heat down was told temperature could not be adjusted control, had water leak they were not too concerned about

Review 99:great breakfast, location, big clean room

Review 100:To Whom It May Concern,I would like to make a formal complaint about President Hotel Praha classified as 5 Starts which provides a 3 Start service or less. I stayed there from 07/05/2015 until 12/05/2015. On Booking.com it says they provide air con and Wi-Fi in every room. During Spring the air con and heater are switched off! When I made a complaint as I was feeling a bit hot in my room they told me to open the window, which I did and was attacked by mosquitos! After complaining again and again, one of the staff offered me an OLD and NOISE fan! The Wi-Fi wasn't working as well, and they told it was due to the big number of guests. Anyone would expect that the Wi-Fi capacity should match the number of guests capacity, right? But for my surprise I was told that by one of the staff that I was the problem! As I continued to complaint, they moved me and I found one of the rooms with Wi-Fi. In their add they promote A/C and Wi-Fi but they don't really have it all the time and in every room. This is misleading propaganda! I have never been so badly treated as a guest in a hotel like this one, and I have been to at least 200 hotels around the world. I could go on with the list, such as the bathroom was always flooded after showering, but I will stop here. I hope you could check these complaints and reconsider the classification of this hotel as it overshadow the beauty of Prague!

Review 101:Wifi was not very fast and connecting my cell phone was issue, I had to sit beside the door of my room to connect my mobile phone. Breakfast was ok, but the service was bit slow, things that finished were not re-filled quickly enough.

Review 102:Room and washroom were spacious and bed was comfortable. The location was excellent.

Review 103:My experience- after I came to the hotel, worn out carpets, odor at the corridor like retirement house, but NO wifi at the room, even NO internet on the room. I have contacted the reception the promised to solve the problem. Another day passed so I urged the reception, to my surprise they responded that they cannot do anything about it and they offered me other room with SMALLER bed without any compensation, I wanted to call the manager, the RUDE brunette female receptionist answered that she will NOT contact the manager. She offered me "the presidential aparment"- but I HAVE TO PAY additionally- without ANY compensation!!! I went furious, the offered me free massage, I refused- I had no time for massage. After I threatened them that I will find contact to the manager and will also contact booking. com the RUDE receptionist called manager who offered us larger apartment. We finally accepted the offer, but when me moved to anaother apartment wifi was not working there, too, The only internet working was LAN internet. I had no mood to complain again, som I made my work on LAN internet. Another issue- dust and dirt in the room corners, dirty plates on the breakfast tables and so on and so on...I have never experienced something like this in 5 star hotel... Terrible!

Review 104:That's a huge list - dirty carpet - unpleasantness and unhelpful staff - hotel management Unresponsive to customer's issues - no air conditioning - telephone in the room didn't work

Review 105:Nothing!

Review 106:1. Wi-Fi During complete stay there was no Wi-Fi in the room and hardly ever in the hotel lobby. When asked for tech support it took 2 days to get someone in the room for 30 sec who left saying "I don't know"... 2. Room Service (Iron) Asked for the iron (twice) and both times got something that probably only American Pickers would be happy to see... Result = 2 white shirts damaged with black water that was pouring out of the irons. (At the end receptionist even tried to charge for the dry cleaning!!!) 3. Breakfast Average breakfast at best, which I don't mind but the fact that they charge for cappuchino extra (in 5 star hotel)!?!?!

Review 107:Location is quite nice

Review 108:The location is superb, just a short walk from all major attractions and close to the metro stations for easy access to different parts of the city. Room was huge, decor a little dated but it added to the old world charm of Prague I felt.

Review 109:That the staff or management did not apologise for the problem of double booking my room, it was like a joke to them. Near Midnight they came in! I could not get back to sleep. Not good enough. One of the staff on the 'help' desk charges more than he should. One of the bar people was not pleasant - I do not think he liked his job. Taxi's always late as they did not book them when asked - I heard other people complaining. I feel I have been overcharged as staff did not take the room costs out in one lump sum - a bit here and there. Certainly not professional. I am still waiting for te extra pillow I asked for!!

Review 110:Breakfast plus the man in charge was very pleasant and tried to make everyone feel welcome.

Review 111:I had ask Counter staff for taxi to go central train station where just 5-7 min from hotel , she said 300-350 krone CZ that I'm accept but when we start to depart she said 25 euro about 600 krone that crazy price and cheated , she said this price call by conciege countrr , I didn't agree and looking for others taxi on the road who charged only 140 krone . But They had charged 400 krone on my credit card without permit from me then be careful if u choose this

Review 112:Breakfast and wifi

Review 113:Don't buy things from mini markets nearby.. They suck. A bottle beer costs 15 czech kr in supermarket but they charged 69 kr. This was a loot. This is just to aware others.

Review 114:reception and restaurant staff is not professional and transparent, pity for such a nice hotel

Review 115:Federico was great and helped us with his advices. Great location and nice big rooms

Review 116:This hotel is good if you are lucky and all is OK. If you run into a problem, then do not expect much. They lied about the TV said routers will be changed and I am sure until now they are not changed. Earlier guests were told the same story. There was no English speaking channels and nobody war offering any solution. This hotel needs a new management who knows how to run a hotle and keep guests happy. The room was not ready when I arrived and I had to wait for a couple of hours in the lobby. I am sure I will be hesitant to stay with them again.

Review 117:Interior design and furniture should be modernized.

Review 118:Located in the downtown by the river with a nice view of the castle. Helpful staff and good breakfast. Would stay here again.

Review 119:The hotel is a little dated and some of the linen/towels/etc are now quite old. Our shower screen was dysfunctional and was not fixed during our stay.

Review 120:The location is excellent, just on the edge of old town, and on the Vltava River. The breakfast was pleasant. The staff were helpful and the room size is very large. The sauna facility is basic but nice.

Review 121:They have got a great location;however, they didn't have a coffee machine at the room.so I can't say it's a 5 star hotel. It is a one reason from a lot

Review 122:Apparent lack of attention to detail. A yoghurt 5 days beyond best before date presented for breakfast. Hole in the pillow cover - smack in the middle, nearly covered with a throw.

Review 123:television did not work despite 2 visits by serviceman. shower door did not close well and water leaked all over floor refrigerator was poorly stocked and never restocked. rooms and lobby are dark housekeeping did not make up room on day of paid late checkout and generally did not do thorough cleanup of rooms no concierge in sight - though front desk helpful spa offered special deals each day but was always fully booked. they need more staff

Review 124:front desk was wonderful price on booking.com was great room good size free wifi all over

Review 125:We had a communication problem with the shuttle service. They came to the airport to pick us up. But we didn't know it and went to the hotel with a taxi whIch costs arround 23 euro. First they asked us to pay the shuttle but when we explained what happened they didn't resist, and I appreciate that!!

Review 126:Room was cool. Couldn't get the heating/ air con to reach the set temperature. Kettle & mugs provided but no tea, coffee, sugar or milk. When I asked at reception was offered a choice of tea or coffee sachets from a shoe box ! But was told they didn't have milk or sugar !

Review 127:Liked the location Large double room with huge bathroom

Review 128:We had a difficult situation with the Spa staff in relation to our booking, we had booked for two people and they only had one staff on, it got sorted in the end but the treatment ended up being unpleasant, so ensure you get a conformation email when booking, other wise you could end up sifting through credit card statements for an hour with poor wifi trying to sort the issue out.

Review 129:The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The bar was poorly stocked, but theres much better bars out!

Review 130:the hotel feels a little old and run down, the carpet was old

Review 131:very good location, the hotel staff were very friendly...overole, very good value for money.

Review 132:It was the most disgusting room I've ever been offered. We had booked a room with a view, the view was the building next door, not the river and castle as advertised. The price was also jacked way up for New Year's. The carpet was stained multiple places to include a huge red one right next to the bed that looked like someone had been killed there. I've seen budget motels in the states have better accommodations. Reserved parking did not exist despite it being requested. Wifi was horrible in rooms. Desk staff was not receptive at all to fixing problems or accommodating us until we called booking.com customer service.
