Review 1：No good rooms available, even i booked a Deluxe room for 2 month in advance. Only after a lot of discussions with the manager i had the rooms. In one of the rooms did not work the heating (17 degrees celsius in december ...) and the water was leaking on the feet when you use the sink. The bath is very small. I did not fit inside to make comfortable bath. And i am 1,70 and 90 kg only...... No toilet paper and shmpoo.... I had to ask for more every day... No room cleaning in 4 days .

Review 3：Hotel looks old now. The staff was unable to correctly identify the rooms I reserved on Booking, but basically made me chose what rooms I want at no extra cost.

Review 4：The hotel was probably very nice in the past. Staff was pretty helpful, prices are OK. Breakfast was decent, better than other hotels in Bulgaria.

Review 5：The room was extremely small and VERY dirty, I do not believe it had been cleaned before our arrival. The bathroom had half a meter and it flooded every time we took a shower with a mild warm water. The room was very cold, however it was provided with air conditioning which was very loud and could not heat the room enough. Last but not least, the breakfast was large, but with low quality ingredients. A big disappointment all in all, definitely I would not further recommend it!

Review 7：The hotel is not signposted - though the building is a big socialist-times one, it is difficult to find it in the dark. The pillows are uncomfortable. The cleanliness is doubtful - one of the towels seemed as if used already by previous guests. Tablecloths at breakfast should be replaced with ones of a lighter colour - black-brownish colour suggests use over long periods and disguising of stains and dirt.

Review 8：The staff was very friendly, smiley and well trained. We were given extensive explanations about facilities, restaurant discounts etc. There is a guarded parking lot. The location is quiet. The breakfast is plentiful. The traditional restaurant serves food of very good quality.

Review 11：We stayed one night here. Was not one of the best choices we could make. Lokks like an old, big communist hotel with had a cheap makeover. Poor to no Wi-Fi signal, because one of the router was missing. Roaches in the bathroom, the air heater made a noise so we had to turn it off at night. Smell of dust and mould. One of the sheets had a red stain (blood, rust, don't know). Receptionist had a moustache. The lady receptionist! Pool table at the bar is crooked. As for the good parts: free parking, nice view from the balcony and good breakfast.

Review 16：Very poor hotel. I use junior suite, which looks bad, unclean, with some strange water licking from wall in bath. Breakfast is terrible. Every day I've had to ask for room cleaning. Reception didn't say simple sorry for it. Third day I told good bye and change hotel, but they charged me for whole 4 days as it was booked. Never ever use this hotel again

Review 17：Be aware and avoid the room 506 because is horrible, has a very strong smell of mold. The wallpaper is full of mold. Actually a communist hotel which needs a renovation. On other site the price per night is to high for what can offer this hotel.

Review 21：This is not a 4 star hotel. It may have been 30 years ago. But since then, no maintanance was made. In the bathroom everything leaked. In the room the furniture was decomposing. The walls were dirty and some old wallpaper was almost falling. The "white" curtains were gray. It has a good view but it definetely needs some TLC. Oh yes. Stay away from the meat servet at breakfast. It smells awful.

The have large enough parking witch is a big plus in VT. Recommended for a budget solution in Veliko, don't expect the comfort of other hotels around at higher prices....

Review 32：this is no way a 4 star hotel. rooms are very small, dirty and poorly maintained. no wi-fi in the room. the toilet didn't stop running and maiking a big nise. bad smell in all hotel. hotel looks like there were no changes made in the last 20 years. we were very dissapointed in our stay at this hotel.

Loved the faded glory of the huge socialist era building, the vast public spaces, the handy situation. Also, for some reason the hotel staff won't mention the privately run restaurant on the lower level terrace, but it's excellent! Best in town!

Review 35：My room was not very well maintained. It was very nice and clean but I had an issue with the bathroom sink which was leaking a solid amount of water from underneath, so when I washed my hands I'd also get my feet washed at the same time. :) The breakfast table was not loaded with new items once they were finished (or maybe that was only done a few times during the morning so I didn't get a chance to see it) and breakfast tables were not cleaned quickly enough after people left them.

Review 39：We booked a "Junior Suite" for 5 nights. On arriving at thehotel we never got a smile at reception, they told us nothing about thehotel or facilities, restaurant, bar, etc. a young porter (whom wecannot fault) took us to our room and tried his best to explain thingsto us but he was obviously very new to the job or had never beentrained. Not long after we arrived we tried to contact our family viathe hotel's "free Wi-Fi" but could not get connected. Iwent down to reception which was unattended but eventually found theyoung porter, he tried to help but without success. The reception of theWi-Fi was extremely poor in the hotel. I had to ask for our room to becleaned after two days,(only cleaned twice in 5 days), Breakfast (friedeggs, scrambled eggs, sausage etc) was left out without any heatingunder it and was stone cold, I complained first morning and got a hotb/fast but it was the same every morning so I stopped going forB/fast. The condition of the en-suite bathroom was terrible. Ingeneral, I have never stayed in a hotel like it and cannot believe it is4 star rated (more like 1 star).

Review 40：The good things about this hotel are:- its location, the young helpfulporter and the mexana downstairs which is run independently from thehotel. The quality of service and food there was excellent and the staff(who always went that extra "mile") were superb in every way.The hotel and the staff there could learn a lot from the Mexana staff.

Intercom didn't work so we had to walk back to reception which was very far. We waited for another hour for bed sheets to be changed, the carpet had potato chips but they didn't clean. No cleaning or toiletries were given for next 3 days. No hot water in taps. The bathroom smells. Guy at reception is rude all the time. When asked for cleaning, the staff says there is nothing that they can do as the hotel doesn't have fresh towels, bed sheets & toiletries. While checking out we were asked to pay 230 leva while our booking said 211 leva. When confronted they admitted that it was indeed 211 leva.

Upon arrival there was only one towel in the room. Towels were quite worn out, some with holes in them. Furniture was old and shabby. One could hear every other noise in other rooms, as walls were very thin. Elevator was pretty weird, as it seemed to work on it's own will. Upon requesting additional towels while we were out, we found our room door unlocked. Room cleaning was done only upon request.

They don't even care to recommend a good place topark. The hot water in the bathroom was terrible and runs with1L/minute. The food was disgusting,the cheapest food there is,andthey didn't even refill the dishes so you had to wait a lot for anyfood to be put on the table. The staff is not cleaning the tables,youeat where other people ate before,the tables were dirty also. Theawfully coffee is served in plastic cans and the coffee machine wasalso disgusting. There was no fresh juice in the juice machine and theyhad the color of the toxic juice that they were serving. I don'tthink they changed them since the eighties. The air con is not workingand the pillows were dirty (of yellow brownish colour). The sheets andthe towels were so old that we didn't even took a bath. It was theworst experience. I even had itches in the morning. Both of our roomand our friend's room were as disgusting as they could be.Don't go there. Try a 1 star B&B instead. We made thismistake,you don't have to.

Review 94：I wouldn't say it is a 4 star hotel. The furniture is old, the air conditioning is not working very well. The bathroom is small and it didn't give me the impression it is very clean. It was not dirty but I would have expected it to be very clean. The breakfast is not bad (not very good either) but if you go after 9:15 you'll only get to pick some remains. I wouldn't choose the same hotel if I went again to Veliko Turnovo.
