Reviews for B&B Huize Norman

Review 1:Location, during morning rush hour can be a pain if the draw bridge is up when boats are passing through which can cause additional delays.

Review 2:Quite, Comfortable and very friendly english speaking staff.

Review 3:I paid 80€ and my friend (Jozef Dermaut) paid 65 € for the same due to an error probably of "Booking". The guesthouse thought I was with two persons, nothwithstanding I asked a room for only person. The guesthouse did not review the price for rectification.

Review 4:Cleaneness and breakfast

Review 5:We were based in Oudenaarde to ride some of the route of the Tour of Flanders. After a hard day in the saddle it is good to be within walking distance of the town in order to sample the beer and the food. This place is just perfect. Fantastic shower in our room. Perfect after a hard days cycling.

Review 6:No bad experience at all - do expect a surcharge, however, if you intend to pay by credit card...

Review 7:Loved the host's friendliness and attentiveness + the quality of the breakfast. The home-made jams are worth the detour!

Review 8:The hostess, Mme Norman, was really lovely and went through the trouble of preparing eggs to your liking every morning. Breakfast included a selection of homemade jams and breads, croissants, and finished off with her delicious berries & yogurt creation.

Review 9:I stayed for three nights and my room wasn't cleaned and The bed wasn't made anytime during my stay. The room was perfectly clean when I arrived.

Review 10:Great hosts who have provided lovely touches to make the stay more enjoyable. They also gave excellent recommendations for good restaurants and tourist attractions. Recommend this venue highly.

Review 11:As we were a group of friends, we would have preferred doors rather than curtains between bedrooms and bathrooms. The wifi seemed to go down whilst we were staying. Not a problem for us, but might have been if my kids had been there.

Review 12:Lovely breakfast of home made bread and jams.

Review 13:it's owner and her mother are friendly, attentive, accommodating, helpful, and provide a more than adequate breakfast, whilst at the same time remaining unobtrusive.

Review 14:Nothing, all good.

Review 15:I wouldn't come to Oudenarde if it wasn't for the Cycling museum and the Eddy Mercx route but we were given a very nice welcome and well looked after.

Review 16:Nice familyroom, friendly staff, nice breakfast

Review 30:Roadnoise right underneath bedroom window made for a sleepless night

Review 31:friendly staff

Review 32:Excellent breakfast, particularly the homemade jams. Ilse and her mother were great hosts.

Review 33:Can't think of anything!

Review 34:Modern simple design. Great that they had bike storage as we were doing the Retro Ronde event. Very helpful. Lovely breakfast.

Review 35:No closet or dresser . A few hooks on the walls would make it much easier to stay organized. The ambient lighting is attractive but impossible to read by in the evening. Easily solved with a bedside lamp.

Review 36:Newly renovated in a modern and minimalist style. Owners live on site and are welcoming and accommodating. Just a few minutes walk to main square.

Review 37:A double bed in our room was made up of two twin beds put together so it was not possible to sleep next to each other. Rooms are poorly isolated so you can hear everything happening in the corridor and stairs. For extortionate 95€ per night one would expect these things to be taken care of.

Review 38:Very friendly and accomodating owner, central location, rooms are beatifully designed and very clean. Good breakfast.

Review 39:Nothing. We plan to return next year. Find fault with Huize Norman and you are just "nit-picking.

Review 40:Ilse and her mother; they were both attentive and unobtrusive. Breakfasts,(continental), were great; recommend the scrambled eggs. It's situation; close to town, but away from the bustle

Review 41:Embarrassing to find had to pay with cash..only just had enough. Recommended restaurant was also cash only so had to negotiate with pounds!

Review 42:Very clean and close to motorway.

Review 46:Walk through bedroom/ bathroom.

Review 47:Very welcoming and accommodating owners. Bike friendly location great decor and perfect vase for discovering Flanders.

Review 48:there isn't a proper bathroom and the toilet and bathroom area communicates with the kitchen area which I find difficult to accept as this would be ilegal in my country. There is no on-site parking. You are supposed to park by the river which is a 2 minute walk.

Review 49:very clean and modern and nicely decorated staff really accommodating and friendly

Review 50:There wasn't a cash point closer in proximity

Review 51:The room we stayed in was fab and called close to heaven. Breakfast was very good and the jam was delicious

Review 52:Stayed in the ‘family apartment’ on the top floor. No shower and only abath was a bit of a let-down. The fold-out couch is rock hard. Suited mefine as I like a hard bed, but it wouldn’t be for everyone. Only paymentby cash is possible.

Review 53:Very casual and relaxed atmosphere. Good breakfast. Lovely décor andexcellent value for money. Bicycle friendly. Close to the city centerand there is a great pizza place right next door to the B&B.

Review 54:A bit too minimalist in room - no bedside cabinet, no refreshments (water,coffee,mini-bar). Bedding and towels had odour-possibly of smoking.

Review 55:Clean and minimalist. Pleasant owners.
