Reviews for Hotel Spark Iquique

Review 1:Very bad service. Wifi was very much bad. my mobilen in the top of a far away mountain has better internet signal than the Spark hotel. Air conditioned was not working. Answer from the front desk: "i am sorry sir but maintenance people has already left and only tomorrow we can take care of it". Ps: it was 6pm! When i have asked about another room, answer was: "sorry, we are fully booked". When i asked to leav the property answer was: "you cannot do it because your reservation have been donde by Booking and we cannot change it". At the end of the day i have paid and left. Could not stay there with no air and with no wifi. Spend more money for nothing.

Review 2:One of the lights was off and they didn't have a spare. Windows in the room and corridor were dirty for a 4 star hotel.

Review 3:Location. Electric pot in the room

Review 4:A pack of street dogs bark most of the night outside the front of the hotel making sleep very difficult. Night management seem unable or unwilling to address the problem.

Review 5:Gorgeous view Comfortable bed Excellent breakfast Some staff helpful especially Manuel

Review 6:I got some messages from a tour agency and the staff didn't tell me in two days. I found out only passing by the agency again. On the whole staff could more helpful and efficient, smiles and greetings would give a better impression.

Review 7:I extended my stay. Room was spacious and view on the ocean was nice (a good reason to clean windows more often). Bed was very comfortable.

Review 8:Some difficulties with the reception in extending my stay. Some minor problems with the room cleaning (complimentary mineral water not repeated, pyjamas not folded, towels missing sometimes). Hot water may be waited for.

Review 9:Spacius modern room with a beautiful view on the ocean. Convenient zone for restaurants.

Review 10:Kimberly helped us throughout our stay, she attended to our questions as they mattered to her. She was off when we left but yet she followed through with our needs and ordered a taxi which showed up long after she departed....pleasant young lady to deal with.

Review 11:Check-in is only at 3PM, the wi-fi did not work properly (sporadically in the common areas, not at all on the room, the breakfast was a bit weak and the rooms are surprisingly noisy - both from outside (street noise) and inside (other rooms, squeaking pipes). None of this in itself is a big drama, but considering the rates the hotel charges, it was a bit disappointing.

Review 12:The location is quite nice - right across the beach and the food, albeit expensive, was absolutely delicious.

Review 13:No complaints!!

Review 14:Everything!! Amazing view. Close to the ocean. Great location. Room is big and very clean. No patio, but huge window opens up for nice ocean breeze. Bed is very comfortable. Room has an empty mini fridge--for your own snacks/ refreshments. Great bathroom.

Review 15:Administration is hopeless the hotel pre-authorizes larger amounts than the cost after payment, they keep the pre-authorization up to 6 days. holidays, they said The first bill I got was higher than the booking amount, a mistake from the agency they said. in the end everythiing was settled ok by a friendly clerck. but everything took much time. it is a pity, the hotel is otherwise fine

Review 16:Rooms, breakfast and location

Review 17:... things broken last year are still broken. If no one takes care of it the place will just drown down...

Review 18:Probably still one of the best choice in Iquique but...

Review 19:The reception was super disorganized and incompetent. The worst was how they treated me. I had asked for assistance with a tour and they lied and said all tour guides were out of the city. I obviously double checked and confirmed this was a lie. I asked to speak with the manager four times but she was never found. So I complained to another member of reception and I suppose he was trying to be nice he told me he found me a tour so I relied on that and stopped my own search. The next morning a cab showed up and the driver told me that the hotel told him to pretend to be a tour guide. I have tried to complain to the manager and the corporation without any reply. While it may not be their practice to organize, they should treat guests with respect, not lie and have some level of management snd accountability. I can only imagine how they would handle any other kinds of situations.

Review 20:I hated this hotel. I could not see anything positive about it after how I was treated.

Review 21:... I faced the same problems as I did last year. In addition the hotel gets older and I don't feel like someone tries to get it back into original shape...

Review 22:It is still good deal and choice in Iquique but...

Review 23:excelent locatión, close to the beach and restaurants ( few squares)

Review 24:Threadbare (and once unclean) towels and sporadic cleaning timetable

Review 25:Excellent front desk staff who helped us extensively, good location.

Review 26:Slow & buggy Wifi.

Review 27:Very nice hotel in general, close to the beach. The rooms are well-furnished and have an amazing view.

Review 28:exterior appareance...

Review 29:where is located

Review 30:Muy buen servicio, habitaviones cómodas, modernas y muy buena ubicación, a metros de los mejores Restaurantes y Playa Cavancha

Review 31:Wifi, air condition

Review 32:Location

Review 33:The Wi-Fi signal doesn't work at all; the hotel staff wasn't help too much

Review 34:very good localisation, big bed, very good breakfast, clean room, helpful staff

Review 35:The Internet was very very poor

Review 36:No hot water! I had 2 cold showers. Also the restaurant had a very limited menu and felt very tired.

Review 37:Nice room with a great view of the beach.

Review 38:Cafe dated, a nice bar on roof would have been great.

Review 39:Amazing location, views were impressive. Sadly no balcony though. Staff were superb. Francisco was very helpful when I needed help with my room.

Review 40:nothing at all.

Review 41:it was a prefect hotel stay, nice view over the sea, nice room. Very satisfied. Also got a minibar for free :) It was a bit of the city center but it was not that bad as you can go there by by the beach and in 10-15 minutes (depending on your walk speed) you were there. What I was very suprised was the fact that city ceneter was so empty afetr sunset. Its true that the city is summer resort but still, somtimes even worse feeling than in Humberstone :) Otherwise Iquique is a very nice city. I liked it so much

Review 42:More a business hotel than a leisure resort, Sparks is quite bland. The pool is minuscule, facilities minimal, the atmosphere a bit dull... Breakfast is repetitive and not very god I'm afraid....

Review 43:Great location, great view ! in front of the beach, walking distance from the old town, etc. The room is spacy, comfy, the staff friendly and efficient (even if few speak english)

Review 44:Room was not ready for Check in, second room offered was at least one IT not two below the booked category without price reduction, the third room was nice, but a mess. It was cleaned, but not very thoroughly. The whole Hotel seemed untidy (e.g. dirt in the lobby, elevators remained there for at least a day). Did not like the place. It is a no return!

Review 45:hotel restaurant a little bit pricey. I asked for a beer (Toro bayo) and they charged me usd$ 8 or clp$ 4.000. Everywhere cost usd$ 5.5 or clp$ 2.700.

Review 46:Near the beach and restaurants

Review 47:The towels in the bathroom were old. The staff wasnt very efficient. Andthe corridors ( specially windows )were dirty.

Review 48:The Rooms where nice and spacious with a good view. Breakfast wascorrect.

Review 49:Busy at breakfast, we had to queue for breakfast one morning. Could do with a bigger breakfast area (but the breakfast was nice with lots of choice)

Review 50:Great location, right by the beach. Clean and comfortable rooms, very spacious and we had a great sea view.

Review 51:We ate at the Cafe/Brasserie and was served by a lovely waitress. Thefood however when it arrived wasn't the hottest but it was eatable. Whenwe had finished our drinks we found it difficult to get our bill as ourwaitress wasn't available so we went to the counter to sign for ourmeal. The woman on duty was quite abrupt and moody, with no eye contactso we are hoping the tip we left went to the original waitress!

Review 52:We stayed for 2 nights following a tour of Northern Chile so we werelooking for a comfortable, relaxing stay and we weren't disappointed. Our room was very comfortable with separate seating area and the bathroom had a deep bath and shower that was greatly received after our dusty trek. Bernard on reception was very helpful. He spoke fluent English and went out his way to assist us.

Review 53:Front desk staff recommended a tour of a local area. The tour was overpriced, far too long, led by someone very unprofessional ...generally a huge disappointment. Front desk staff should know this.

Review 54:Good location and view on the ocean King size bed

Review 55:The bed was quite uncomfortable...

Review 56:Good location, nice forniture. Very kind staff.

Review 57:location

Review 58:in a shady neighborhood

Review 63:I would have liked help with my suitcases on having entered to the hotel

Review 64:no parking facilities !!!!!!

Review 65:rooms and cleanness

Review 66:Very low water pressure in the bathroom. The hotel is certainly overpriced.

Review 68:Internert did not work in our room.

Review 69:Location, friendly staff, room with a nice simple decoration with goodquality furniture.

Review 70:Breakfast was great, room was very confortable.
