Reviews for Domein Westhoek

Review 1:Reception gave me an "invitation to dinner" and signed it, I didnt realise this cost me £25 per person but no body told me there was a cost until I checked out! bit of a con!! Hot yub steam and sauna extra £75 per cpl

Review 2:Large room

Review 3:Staff was not friendly. Didn't get a card for the pool, information about resto or dining was not given. They didn't really care. Far away from the coast. The place feels like center parks or the vacation center where you go to with school.

Review 4:Big bathroom. Nice breakfast. Good bed.

Review 5:I would say that even you have good choice at breakfast, omelette has no taste. Hotel should make sure not to loose in quality for food. Same for dinner because price for buffet went from 20 to 25 euro They absolutely should stop to put dessert in plastic cup/glass : not ecological at all !

Review 6:I come from time to time to this hotel, because it is 500 meters from the sea and in a quiet area. Everything is clean. When arriving in the hotel and if the room is not ready, we can have a drink or meal at the sunny terrasse (I would recommand there sandwich ! ) Staff all the time friendly. Swimming pool is perfect and warm ! Clean. This hotel is a bit in a paradisiac area (if good weather, of course)... . You can relax there ! . Room 236 : lowest price but so comfortable !

Review 7:Single beds were too small Hotel is a little out off the beaten track to get to Oostduinkerke - but overall still a great hotel

Review 8:Excellent facilites at the hotel, great staff who answered everything we asked in English and booked cabs etc exactly as required

Review 9:-Cleaning of the room not good, a lot of dust always, bed was never nice. First time I went in the room there was hair in the bath. -They charge 7,5€ per day for pet (small French bulldog), but then the cleaners were scared of him and didn't clean the room for 2 days, until I asked why. -Variety of food in breakfast was limited. -Restaurant closed at 9 pm.... too early for a hotel. -Sauna and jacuzzi have to be paid apart (expensive). -The bed was made of 2 matrasses, which had of course a hole in between. I asked for a solution, but no solution was offered.

Review 10:The best was that the beach was just 10 minutes walking.

Review 11:Access to wellness is not inclusive for guest who sleep at the hotel. I found it bit strange and expensive as well. It is not suitable for young people and receptionist are poor communication and bad service by the staffs.

Review 12:The swimming pool and the sourounding athemosphere was very nice.

Review 13:Not child friendly. 90 percent of guests were third aged people. At restaurant for dinner, the buffet is rather a cold buffet and good but nothing children can eat. No warm meal at dinner. Waitress at breakfast as well as guests seemed bothered we were there with small children. No playgrounds at the hotel. We won't be returning at least not until our children are older.

Review 14:Location, the indoors pool, the cleanliness. Reception staff friendly but not at restaurant.

Review 15:Location, accessibility, facilities, room size and entertainment like gym room and swimming pool

Review 16:Very well organised !! We got there at 12 at night and all was left as promised !! Very great breakfast too xx

Review 17:Easy to reach from Calais train terminal Close to beach Dinner was great value and excellent choices.

Review 18:Lack of parking space unless you had an apartment.

Review 19:Great breakfast, room was standard but get an upgrade next time and good location.

Review 20:hard bed restaurant was fully booked for dinner

Review 21:convenient location

Review 22:nothing

Review 23:Friendly receptionist

Review 24:The bed was a little hard but nothing to complain about

Review 25:Location, cleanliness, friendly staff good food etc.

Review 26:Parking difficult and over crowded. Long walk with baggage. Staff inflexible - we had to leave before breakfast was available (on an organised tour) - nothing offered like a packed roll nor was any money deducted from the bill in lieu (price included breakfast). Asked me to pay on check in and leave key on the desk when we left. Tried to get a meal in the early evening - dining room had space and people eating and staff still bringing out food (buffet) but told we had to book and it was closed.

Review 27:Room layout - plenty of space, nice location - lovely view

Review 28:No small shops nor restaurants nearby ...

Review 29:I liked very much the kindness of the staff as well as the facilities: swimming pool, Jacuzzis', the library...

Review 30:This hotel does not deserve a rating above 7. It was OK, room was not exactly clean, furniture is old and the extra bed for our son was an antique with a strange old blanket. There are also no restaturants near the hotel (unless you drive) and the hotel takes advantage of this by asking absorbatant prices in their restaurant. The breakfast also isn't great and you have to fry/scramble your own eggs on an old stove-plate in the dining room. Usually I expect my food to be cooked for me when I visit a hotel.

Review 31:10 minute walk from the beach. Ample parking. Quiet setting.

Review 32:Very basic breakfast

Review 33:Friendly and efficient staff, simple and clean rooms, c/a 15mins walk the seaside (between Oostduinkerke and Nieuwpoort).
