Review 3：Extractor fan didn't work in bathroom so mirror fogged up. Need mirror in bedroom, tea & coffee making facilities would be appreciated!

Review 5：The hotel is in the middle of a major refurbishment, so it's a bit like a building site. As a result, it is difficult not to trail sand and dust into the rooms.

Review 13：Wifi didn't extend to the terrace of our room. The hotel was a building site so our room was covered in dust on the floor from walking it in. Building work happens but forewarning would have been good and or an acknowledgement of it when we got there - we had neither.

Review 16：Very friendly staff, excellent food in the restaurant which has an amazing selection of beers and whiskies. Unfortunately we had to leave early in the morning which meant missing breakfast. Wifi was really fast and the TV had loads of channels. Great location too for visiting Oudenaarde. Room was spacious with a nice patio area at the back. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Review 17：Construction was being done in the hotel (although no work was donee urging the weekend itself). This will be now finished so I would return without hesitation.

Review 21：Enjoyed our stay here, staff very friendly and helpful, nice breakfast and room spotlessly clean. Even though rennovations were being carried out,(which we hardly noticed was going on) we found this hotel very quiet and relaxing, cant wait to return next year to see what it is like when it is finished. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very good too. The hotel is ideally based for trips into Bruges, Gent ,Brussels etc. Thankyou for your hospitality, cant wait to return.

Review 22：Joris and his wife are lovely. Like all Flandrians, Joris' passion for life, hospitality, and, of course, Belgian beer and cycling runs deep. The rooms reminded me of ones I've stayed in when in Banff or Whistler; the restaurant likewise would not be out of place in a mountain lodge. Warmth and hospitality are paramount here. With the renovations underway and soon to be finished (you never, ever hear a sound as construction starts long after you're up!), I cannot wait to see the final transformation.

Review 28：The additional cost of breakfast which is poor value for money. I particularly wasn't happy that the cost was automatically added to he bill, especially as they had asked me at dinner what time I wanted breakfast and I had told them I did not want it all. However, the bill was changed immediately and it will not stop me staying there again.

Review 33：From the initial welcome this historical hotel was a great find. The landlord was most helpful, good to talk to and looked after his guests very well, he speaks at least 4 languages. The food was excellent and extremely generous, especially the steaks. The hotel is on the old Oudenarde-Ghent road yet easy to reach from the modern road. The modern and comfortable accommodation is very quiet looking out onto 5 acres of grassland with lakes, swans etc. The history of the old part of the hotel goes back 400 years and forms a delightful interior of wood, odd collections and candle lighting for the bar, restaurant and lounge.

Review 49：Restaurant not good for our vegetarian friends. Disappointed to be charged for ketchup and mayonnaise to go with meal. Water was eye wateringly expensive at €7.60 per bottle. wifi reception did not work in room. (worked in main building) Would have been great if we could have checked out a little later than 10am as went for bike ride in morning and had to pack cars beforehand and could not shower after. Made for sweaty trip home.

Review 50：Really lovely large rooms, with good beds. Bathrooms excellent with good shower and bath in best rooms - good for aching muscles. Great location for cycling around Flanders and being close to Oudenaarde and Tour of Flanders routes. Owner gave us a secure room for bikes = excellent. Hotel has individual charm - not boring like many places. Restaurant excellent if you like steak or meat....

Review 51：The resutaurant menue didn't have a 'starter' entry and the range of meat dishes was a little strange eg Zebra, Crocodile and Bison although the spare ribs were very good. Food was a bit expensive and eating out in Oudenaarde was much better value.

Review 52：The accomadation was excellent; modern, clean and spacious. Location was good for Oudenaarde, Gent and surrounding areas. What little noise there was from the Route National was not heard in the accomadation are. large grassed area to rear with a small lake.This are is being developed and would be a nice spot to sit and relax although there appears to be no service from breakfast till late afternoon re drinks etcTea/coffee facilities in the bedroom would be good.

Review 53：Everything was excellent. The warmth and friendliness of Joris the host further enhanced the experience.As keen cyclists the hotel provided us with the perfect location and facilities. We are planning a repeat visit later this year.

Review 54：Friendliness of the owner. Rustic bar with extensive selection of Belgium beers and Scottish whiskey. Beautiful views over private garden/small lake. Clean comfortable room with great shower and access to garden/patio.

Review 55：Quiet. Newly remodeled. Large showers. Very peaceful. The property opens onto a massive back lawn with a lake which has a small island. Excellent selection of Belgian Ales and scotch. Fantastic steaks!!! The staff are extremely friendly. The proprietor brought me a pint after I checked in.

Review 56：Stuff was terrible. Hotel is not cheap ( 140 euro for three persons 1 night). But if you are coming there you are already due to the stuff. From the morning when we were checking out reception guy sad that they already close from 10 a.m. but he will do a favor and stay for 15 minutes. FINISH was whe he just disconnected wi fi. I NEVER EVER seen such an attitude to the guest. Also, is strange, but when you are booking, nothing says that grill restorant is working only from wednesday till sunday. We were on Tuesday.
