Reviews for Saint Thomas Holiday Village

Review 1:Very nice hotel with good facilities, helpfull staff and well-kept garden. The a-la-carte restaurant food was very good. The nearby Arkutino beach is amazing - clean water and quiet surroundings.

Review 2:The food is fine, but not outstanding. The biggest complaint I have is that as other people have stated, the mattesses on the beds are very hard and uncomfortable. The pull out chair bed was more comfortable.

Review 3:Location, location, location! anyone could stay in the town or a beach resort, but the peninsula and natural surroundings were stunning.

Review 4:Really old furniture, bad fixtures. Fan in bath was not working. Tiles in shower were moving while stepping on them. Hair in the shower from previous guests. Endless stairs to the beach.

Review 5:The complex has the facilities for a 5 star hotel but they are not maintained properly.

Review 6:The mattress could 've been a little firmer.

Review 7:great staff always nice and ready to help, good wifi, quiet hotel, clean pools, far from the city and the the crowds.

Review 8:Not cleaning every day.

Review 9:Spacious apartment with all kitchen appliances; huge comples with a lot of entertainment facilities; decent food for breakfast and in the restaurant.

Review 10:old and very small bathroom, very narrow beds, rather weak variety at breakfast, small number of umbrellas at the pools, facility needs renovation

Review 11:location, view

Review 12:Not a 5 star hotel if western standards are applied, many guests do not have proper manners (do not know how to eat with a fork and a knife, this seems to be a general problem in some Eastern European countries though).

Review 13:Well managed, well instructed personnel (for Bulgarian standards), nice location on the cliffs, great for a family with young children.

Review 14:Stairs to the beach a nightmare waiting to happen. Staff in the hotel not helpful, barley know the language, specialy if the is a problem. People in the restaurant, shop and beach bar trying to forget to give u right change. Need to really keep an eye. Room free Internet slow. Had 2 days when room not been clean. Not a 5star hotel.

Review 15:Beach was nice and quiet, good food, staff in cafeteria very pleasant.

Review 16:Great location with amazing view, nice beach Arkutino with free sunbeds and umbrella, goood bar on the beach with food and a wide range of cocktails so, a wonderful holiday.

Review 17:Poor value for money. Sea view was no sea view at all. Bird poop all over the yard. Food at the a la carte restaurant is like a microwave tv dinner (looks and taste). Not even close to 5 stars.

Review 18:Staff and breakfast lasting till 10:30h. Great scenery overrall, but no more than 3 stars instead of 5.

Review 19:We chose this hotel for it's location and because we wanted a relaxing break. During our 3 day stay there was one party and one wedding. The music from the wedding was still being blasted out at 3:30 am followed by drunken guests running up and down the corridors after this. The service is certainly not 5 star. For this to be 5 star you shouldn't even have to go to the bar, let alone have to go looking for bar staff and then take your own drinks to your table. We wanted to be able to use the restaurant at the hotel as and when we wanted, but not be half board. This meant that when we used the hotel's a la carte restaurant we were required to sit outside on the terrace with the smokers and the mosquitoes, rather than in the main dining room. This would of course not been possible anyway as the one indoor dining room is the one used for weddings and parties. As none of us smoke this wasn't particularly comfortable. I don't appreciate being told that I should put up with the noise and be happy for the bride and groom who were getting married. I would not have stayed here had I known there was to be a wedding - a hotel in the centre of Sunny Beach would have been quieter and more relaxing!

Review 20:The location was good. The grounds were well maintained. The rooms were well appointed. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff on reception and in the Spa centre.

Review 21:Wifi a nightmare, weak signal, having to enter login details every. Quality of food, fixtures and fittings are not worthy of 5 stars. Staff are helpful but need training to be able to offer useful information on surrounding area, things to do etc. Having to pay extra for the safe in the room and for sauna/steam room is ridiculous.

Review 22:Good location, stunning views, good facilities, clean, nice swimming pools, friendly staff.

Review 23:Coffee and drinks at breakfast are horrible, very low quality. SPA center has terrible working hours, cannot be used, should be 24/7.

Review 24:Amazing location, great room, delicious and varied breakfast.

Review 25:The front of house staff are terrible, rude and unhelpful. As we entered the property no one greeted us, so I was the first one to make contact. Not something I expect from a customer experience point of view. They allocated our room and as we entered it, we opened the balcony only to find we were just above the delivery door/ bins/ and staff smokers area. Oh and a lovely view of the car park. When we had actually paid extra for a sea view. Well I guess you could see the sea if you bent your head to round to the right and stepped on to your toes. We did exchange rooms but felt like we asking the lady in the reception for the presidents suite. Quite disappointing.

Review 26:Location was nice, we had a car, but if you didn't have a car it could be quite tricky. The breakfast was great. Really enjoyed it. The beach bar was also nice, great vibe.

Review 27:I would expect more from breakfast, which was ok, but from a 5star property one simply expects more

Review 28:Great value for money in the low season. Many pools, helpful staff, breathtaking location.

Review 29:- cold water in the indoor swimming pool - rude personnel at the reception - tasteless breakfast - rusted shower pipe

Review 30:- great place surrounded by the sea - large outdoor swimming pools

Review 31:There is no reason not to be able to pull the car by the reception driveway and unload the luggage. Currently one is expected to stop in the parking on the other side, which is not very convenient for first time arrival. The stuff at the gate could have been a bit more courteous.

Review 32:Excellent location. Great facility. Good restaurant with outstanding service.

Review 33:Insufficient number of sun beds on the beaches. Air conditioner was unable to decrease the temperature sufficiently.

Review 34:Great location. Staff friendly and helpful. Food variety and quality was good. Fairly clean.

Review 35:I visit the St Thomas village for a third year in a row. It is one of the best kept secrets among Black sea vacation spots. This year I booked a sea-view room and we got upgraded to an apartment, the accomodations, food and location were excellent.

Review 36:The apartment we booked was smaller than my dog's hut in my garden! The materials used to furnish the room are possibly the cheapest on the market. Didn't feel comfortable at all. It's a real shame that this great location has been ruined with a poor quality establishment. Far from a 5 star place. More like 2*.. oh, and the empty beer can in the living area.

Review 37:The location is astonishing. Due to the excellent air quality sleep is refreshing and really good. Breakfast is ok.

Review 38:Cleanliness - our garbage in the bathroom wasn't empty when we checked in; one of the glasses in the bathroom was very dirty. The shuttle bus to Arkutiono beach is a perfect decision but it will be better to be more often in pick hours, considering the amount of people using it.

Review 39:Perfect location, cosy surrounding, great breakfast, helpful and flexible staff. I like the pool which is more private and quiet. Also it's s great there is a place on the beach reserved for St Thomas' guests and I was surprised there were places for everybody.

Review 40:The hotel is located at around 10km from Sozopol, in an area that's highly unaccessible. While it's a resort, having few restaurants, none of them are open past 23. We arrived at 22:30 and were left starving, as nothing was open and we had nowhere to go to get something to eat. The staff was ok in the first day, but on the checkout they were awful. The breakfast was not very diverse, for a 5 star hotel. I believe it's dedicated to older people, it's a very quiet place.

Review 41:There's a very nice pool and a beach, but nothing much to do in the resort. The wifi was working good and had a good signal in the rooms.

Review 42:Shuttle bus to Arkutino beach is every 20 mins which is not very frequently considering the amount of people using it in pick hours. Although, last time the bus made few trips without a break which solves the problem. People place their towels on the lounge - chairs around the swimming pools and "booked" them although they might not use them half the day!

Review 43:Location; good breakfast; clean room;

Review 44:The walls of the apartment are paper thin and neighbors don't seem to care - so a good night's sleep is doubtful.

Review 45:The hotel's location is excellent standing in beautiful environment. We were staying an apartment outside of the main building so we had a wonderful sea view (view from other buildings is probably not that good). There are 2 beaches, one right next to the hotel complex, the other one is about 15 minutes walk and there is a free shuttle service every 20 minutes. Both beaches are fine, the main beach has many more services, like beach bar and water sports. Hotel staff was helpful. Food was good with selection large enough so everybody can find something they like. About 80% of the

Review 46:- we paid for HB - it wasn't worth it; the food was with average quality - we rented an apartment - the apartments are VERY small and uncomfortable, especially when you put a child crib inside. Maybe 2 people will feel OK there. - the apartments does NOT look like apartments in 5 star hotel

Review 47:- the view from our apartment was amazing - the swimming pool was nice - children playground was great - the free kindergarten was great - our room was cleaned every day

Review 48:We paid extra for seaview a couple of months in advance. However, when we arrived, the only rooms available were with view facing the parking lot and the dumbsters in the back. In fact the sea is hardly seen nicely from anywhere than the 4th floor and few room on the 3rd as there are private houses inbetween. The hotel is overall overrated considering value offered for money.

Review 49:Everything was ok

Review 50:Location, cleanest, food, beach, romantic view

Review 51:The staff reslly need some training . They have no people skills.

Review 52:Typical Bulgarian build quality, some bathroom fittings loose, for example.

Review 53:Staff on hotel excellent.

Review 54:English level of the stuff, WiFi, evening programs, not a five star breakfast and diner

Review 55:Pools, beach, beach bar, environment

Review 56:very quiet, very clean, polite staff, very nice place for holiday with kids - pools, kid's club, outdoor facilities

Review 57:I didn't have longer to stsy

Review 58:Friendly staff breathtaking location on the cliff !

Review 59:Food poor.Beds very uncomfortable and hotel needs renovating.

Review 60:Fantastic location

Review 61:Very uncomfortable beds and the food not at its best Not a five star more of a three star hotel

Review 62:Re nature

Review 63:We liked view from our balkony very much. Location was perfect, food delicious, everything was clean. Highly recomend.

Review 64:The food at breakfast The guards at the parking

Review 65:The location The beach The park The calmness

Review 66:Great place to stay! wonderfull seaview from my room, with great beach down the side! Ireally liked the restorant by the Pool. The staff was quite kind. looking to go back there again! p.s. not all of the facilities were open, but te season has just started!

Review 67:Young and helpful staff, excellent service, the breakfast was unique. The price you pay at the SPA, or the restaurants is nothing compare to the quality. MUST SEE location. For sure we'll return next time we visit Bulgaria.

Review 68:Birds droppings on the windows, on the pavements or pool. I felt that not enough staff was delegated to deal with it, the food was also very poor even though we were on a la carte.

Review 69:Comfortable and clean rooms, surroundibg area

Review 70:Many repairs need to be completed, strong smell of paint when entering the room, not a big selection during breakfast, shower mounted prior to deciding a bathtub to be installed which makes it uncomfortable to use if taller that 1.60m.

Review 71:Location is great, the service was good as well. Room view was good allowing us to see the sea and the sunset.

Review 72:From other reviews I found out that the hotel rooms with "sea view" don't have this view actually, but I was sure it is different for appartments which are located in other village buildings close to the sea. But it turned out our sea view was the pool view with a glipmse of the sea through the narrow gap between 2 houses located over the pool. It would be more honest to publish the corresponding view photo on booking site - to be ready to it in advance. There is no bikes with baby or kid seats to rent. It makes any biking with 1-6 years kids impossible unfortunately. The staff is neither good no bad, they are just indifferent to anything.

Review 73:Perfect location for those who love nature, hiking, biking, sea&cliffs views and the upper middle level of comfort. Hotel restoraunt fully corresponds to 4* level seen by me in Germany and Israel (btw it has the 4* sign plate near its entrance not 5*!). It makes no problem to find the suitable food for baby older than 1.5 years and for a hungry sportsmen as well. Apartments condition and design is very good and equipment is very comprehensive - from bath robes to omelette whisk, baking dishes and kknife sharpener.

Review 74:it's not actually 5* in EU terms, food is so so. opportunities to get better sometimes too obvious for non-professional (IYKWIM).

Review 75:location, good value for money though. nice beaches, bikes to rent and good routes too. the views are breathtaking.

Review 76:The place is still overdeveloped by standards of other resorts eg inGreece. A bit noisy in the evenings.

Review 77:Next to one of the best beaches in Bulgaria. Hotel is good, rooms arespacious and clean. Breakfast was very good by local standards.

Review 78:There are no sea view rooms. They are selling some rooms at special rates as "see view" but actually they don't have sea view. The Black See is somewhere on the left of the terrace. The staff don't know english. The older lady from the front desk(I think is a manager or something) treated us very badly! The rooms doesn't look like a five stars hotel.

Review 79:I liked the location and the fact that it is a quiet place without agitation.

Review 80:The cleaning of the hotel was poor. The hotel doesn't correspond 5 star hotel level. It's likely a 3 star hotel. We were there in may, the begining of the season but anyway, the maintenance should not change in function.I don't recommand. There are a lots of hotels in Sozopol better than this one.

Review 81:The location is perfect. The beach of arkutino around 800 m from hotel is magnificent!

Review 82:Emergency exit door 2nd floor needs to be fixed. Could not sleep well because door was constantly pushed open by wind.

Review 83:Breakfast was poor and untasty.

Review 84:Unfriendly staff Room view In room safety box not free

Review 85:Location Hotel beach Near Arkutino beach Restaurant

Review 86:location and facilities

Review 87:The location, the facilities, the food
