Reviews for Hotel Drei Könige
Review 1:In an expensive town, this was quite a reasonably priced room. The breakfast was good The room was really nice and the shared bathroom wasn't an issue
Review 2:The shared toilet and shower facilities were not as clean as I would have hoped.
Review 3:The location was very convenient and the staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is a short wall from the train station and strps from the old town. Our room was clean and comfortable.
Review 4:Gee man! the bed was a terrible mattress and I was not able to sleep Please get a decent mattress
Review 5:Location. Staff were really nice and breakfast good as well
Review 6:Nothing.
Review 7:Good location on quiet street, in town, 6 minutes or so from railway station. Unusually fried bacon and scrambled eggs offered for breakfast as well as usual fare.
Review 8:Good access to station and old part of town. Basic but good value for Switzerland where prices are very high. Having to share a bathroom compensated for by good breakfast. Large digital TV. Not somewhere to linger. Staff satisfactory but no more. Good Thai restaurant next door.
Review 9:bath towels could be bigger and do a better job of trying you off
Review 10:Short 5 minute walk from train station, clean comfortable room, nice cold breakfast included
Review 11:Fantastic and honest staff! I left my Ipad behind and the staff tried their hardest to contact me, eventually I rang, they posted it to me and were genuinely SO helpful! massive thanks to honest staff members, very refreshing!
Review 12:Corridor was a bit old-fashioned and noisy.
Review 13:The room was pretty and updated, the bathroom looked very retro, but it was clean and ok. Location was nicely in old town. Breakfast buffet was great.
Review 14:Was very noisy, not fault of hotel but inconsiderate people at nearby bars that were shouting until 2am. Needs more power points to charge iPad, phone, camera batteries etc.
Review 15:Hotel was nice and food in restaurant was excellent.
Review 16:The room and the bathroom were both spacious nd there was a chair to sit on. The breakfast included fresh warm bread which varied each day. The staff were very helpful when we had a problem to solve.
Review 17:The bathroom facilities were rubbish - the place needs renovated - everything is creaky, cheaply furnished etc. the room itself was reasonable but the halls, lifts bathrooms etc are all very tired
Review 18:Location and price are very good - but the hotel is very tired and needs a complete renovation - the shared bathroom was tiny and not even located on the same floor as my room. The bed was so creaky I had to take the mattress off the bed and put it on the floor to sleep
Review 19:Not recommendable for families with babies and toddlers. The bed frame had sharp edges and corners and you can't open the windows widely because kids can fall. A very nice family ranargentine restaurant near by.
Review 20:Clean, good location
Review 21:Noise drifting up from street and slats of bed breaking during night disturbing our sleep.
Review 22:Wonderful breakfast and double basins in room. Location in old town.
Review 23:Was quite surprised when booked single-bed room, but instead it was double-bed for same price. Sure, bed is very comfortable. Area was very quite so due business trip I had perfect rest. Very close to the Chur main station - easy to get any destination.
Review 24:This was our second visit last week. I preferred our first room (48? - on the corner)that cost the same amount as room 50. It had a larger bathroom, more space in the room, and two windows for a good air flow.
Review 25:Great breakfasts- especially the coffee!
Review 26:The room was rather hot-no air conditioning. We were thankful for a small fan.
Review 27:We loved the breakfast out on the patio-it was delicious and the weather was perfect. Great location in Old Town.
Review 28:The room was very hot: no air conditioning or fan. Besides, there was a bar fridge at you own expense, but no drink was offered free of charge, like coffee or tea. Finally, we had declared we would have paid by cash. We needed to pay with a 1,000 francs banknote, but the lady at the reception did not accept it, although it was a good banknote, so she left us in trouble. We later paid for petrol at a petrol station where the Swiss shopkeeper very kindly crossed the road to have our banknote changed into smaller banknotes at a hotel we had not stayed at!
Review 29:We liked the breakfast
Review 30:Great position in the old town - just over 5 minutes brisk walk from the breakfast table (served from 6.30am) to the train station platform. The wifi was fast. The single room was clean, modern and quite big, but it was nearly 25 yards to the bathroom. Hot bacon and egg for breakfast was a real bonus, though coffee out of the machine wasn't too great. For Switzerland, good value for money.
Review 31:Avoid, no bathroom, no mini bar, unhelpful staff, loose strain carpet, shared shower at end of hall was grotty, and the toilet was really bad. Too expensive for the quality.
Review 32:Bed, that's all.
Review 33:The small side room for the shower/toilet had no ventilation.
Review 34:The location is excellent, convenient to both the train station and the Old Town. The staff was exceedingly helpful and congenial.
Review 35:The bed collapsing in our first room!!! The tables in the breakfast room were not cleaned either morning of our stay. The breakfast items were not replenished.
Review 36:The position of the hotel near the old town was great. The bedt of Chur was all within a very essy walk. The afternoon receptionist could not have been more helpful
Review 37:Had shared bathroom but was way down the corridor.
Review 38:Good location, few steps to carry bags ups to reception, but otherwise it ok for the price bracket. Good choice for breakfast. Adequate for a one night stay. Staff friendly
Review 39:This was a 4th floor room whose furnishings and bathroom arrangements need an upgrade. The double sinks were in the sleeping space and the corridor outside the room was covered in old linoleum tiles.
Review 40:This was a spacious room in a convenient location for the railway station. It was quiet with comfortable beds. There was an added bonus at breakfast of cooked dishes. On the edge of the old town it made tourism on foot easy.
Review 41:the entrance was up a great many steps which were soiled carpet and there was no help available with our cases. No kettle to make tea
Review 42:the generous size of the room and the cleanliness of it There was a lift to the bedroom. We could walk to the train station. The area was quiet. Breakfast very good
Review 43:There is a steep staircase from street level to the reception. No lift so was difficult with heavy luggages.
Review 44:very aesthetically decorated room, comfortable bed and nice and convenient bathroom
Review 45:The only elevator is small and from the front door to the check-in counter, there is no elevator but the male staff on the day we checked out helped us to carry big luggages to the front door.
Review 46:Staff were nice. Despite the shared bathroom and toilet, the facility and cleanliness is just fine. Breakfast is good too.
Review 47:The room is a bit cold though the day when I arrive. I'm sensitive to coldness... And my room door is at a corner next to my neighbor's, the wall is thin, so I can hear them every time they get in and out, and I need to be careful not to make big noises...
Review 48:Reception is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very good. Very good location.
Review 49:We stayed only one night but found the proprietor or manager to be very accommodating and friendly. Accommodations were basic but clean and comfortable. The history of the hotel was also interesting and unique.
Review 50:There is no sound proof wall in the hotel. Can easily heard walking steps outside the room. Tv sound can be easily heard too from the room next door.
Review 51:Old Lino in the hallway, paint chips on radiators.Sink in the bedroom with separate room for shower and toilet.
Review 52:Friendly English speaking staff. Good location. Clean throughout.
Review 53:We had booked the cheapest room with shared bathroom but on arrival were told that the WC was out of order on that floor so they had upgraded us for the same price to an ensuite room. This room was spotless and very comfortable which was all we needed after a long day train travelling. It had no view but all we needed was sleep! Breakfast was included in the price. The staff were all extremely courteous and helpful with good English.
Review 54:No lift to reception but manager lifted cases for us. Washbasins in bedroom not toilet/shower room.
Review 55:Staff were very helpful. Restaurant on ground floor was good value
Review 56:Power points would not take a standard travel plug Shower door would not close properly so water on floor in the actual room
Review 57:Walking distance to airport.. Approx 20 minutes easy walk
Review 58:The only thing we didn't liked about our stay were the pillows - we found them too soft and uncomfortable.
Review 59:The breakfast was fresh, there was just enough variety of food, the products were excellent quality. Staff was very helpful and friendly, providing us with various discounts for restaurant and ski passes.
Review 60:Maybe everything in Chur is super expensive as it is and we got a relatively good deal. However, compared to the places we've stayed in Tirano and Lugano, this was by far the most expensive and was the most lacking. We had to share the bathroom with the entire floor, the room lacked a fridge and water boiler. It was also very warm in the room and the knob to adjust heat didn't do much. We had to keep a window open for the night. Also, why would I need two water faucets? I'd rather have a simplified bathroom in my room.
Review 61:Breakfast was pretty good! It's also close to some pretty good restaurants and grocery stores. We also got a corner room on the third floor so we had a good view of the street.
Review 62:With heavy ski luggage there are quite a few steps up to reception. The lift only goes to reception not street level but bloke on reception came down to help. Walked past it initially as entrance is set back. It's the only with the Swiss flag and Graubauden flag hanging outside. TV reception was not strong but WIFI was
Review 63:Clean friendly place to stay only 8 minutes walk from rail station 15 with heavy luggage 0.6 miles. Coop is close by easy to get food. Could be used as a cheap base to ski Flims and Arosa with great post bus and train connections. I went for cheaper room with shared toilet and shower per floor and that saved some cash. A really friendly welcoming place to stay. The man on the reception was very helpful. Strong WIFI
Review 64:Late at night my floor was very noisy (it felt like the dorms back in school).
Review 65:Great location right below the cathedral and in the middle of the old town.
Review 66:Toilet and shower some distance from room.
Review 67:Good location about 7 minutes walk from railway station. Clean and quiet despite being in centre. Decent breakfast.
Review 68:A couple of thing but not "critical" for us: The room has thin walls, you can hear voices from inside and outside the hotel. But overall the noise usually didn't take for long so we could sleep well. Ski room is not locked, no door. Offering also green tea and better coffee at breakfast would be nice ;)
Review 69:The location, room, wifi, staff, breakfast was very good. We booked a room in this hotel last minute for a 4-day-stay around New Year and it was excellent even for a skiing vacation - LAAX ski resort that is 30min by bus from Chur Post bus station. The station is cca 9min walk from the hotel.
Review 70:Hotel is very clean and comfortable. I like the room decoration, modern and simple. receptionist is very nice and the breakfast is super good. Location is very central, easy to walk around. Highly recommend.
Review 71:Reception isn't at street level, so you have to carry your bags up stairs before you get to the lift.
Review 72:Location was close to the train station, and it had 3 actual beds instead of 2 beds and a pullout.
Review 73:Our toilet and shower were outside the room
Review 74:Travelling around Switzerland Germany and Portugal at the moment and this was the first place I came across with hot food options for breakfast! And many different juices too. Hotel was very clean and bed was comfy.
Review 75:Only one bathroom and WC per floor on the other end. Noise isolation could be insufficient, but there were no disturbances for me.
Review 76:Hotel in the old town's side, but also close to the railway station. Good design mixture. Friendly and helpful staff, clean room and bathroom, very good and rich breakfast. Temperature best matching - neither cold, nor overheated.
Review 77:We have to carry baggages up one floor before we enter the reception area, and then able to use the elevator. But that's not a big deal, should be better if there's an elevator for big baggage from the ground stair.
Review 78:Fondue restaurant here is fantastic. I really like the food there, also the waitress is very nice and friendly. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, close to everything.
Review 79:Room was great as was the breakfast buffet. We were given discount coupons for the restaurant that was used two of our three nights there. The restaurant was also great. The man working reception saw us arrive and having problems with our luggage. He came down the stairs and helped carry up three large suitcases. We had our luggage held for a while our last day there. When we were ready to leave, they helped us down the stairs with our luggage. What service!
Review 80:Charming and helpful staff, an immaculate property and a perfect stay in a lovely little town. The cable-lift and gondola up into the mountains make an ideal afternoon excursion! Highly recommended.
Review 81:Of the two computers for public use one never worked at all while the other one was slow, erratic and unreliable. I was never able to access my emails. Only German-language channels were available on the bedroom TV - and even there I never located a news programme. I have never encountered such problems on any of my previous visits to the hotel.
Review 82:Convenient for the trains. The breakfast is good by continental standards.
Review 83:We inadvertently booked a room with shared bathroom. When we found out we would be sharing one shower with five or six other rooms so we upgraded which cost and extra 40 Swiss francs.
Review 84:Situation in the Old City, closeness to railway station, friendliness of staff, clean room. Good value for money considering it was in Switzerland
Review 85:The reception is on the first floor with stair access. A challenge for the elderly with luggage. The staff however were very helpful and did the heavy lifting.
Review 86:Friendly and very helpful staff. Room was large and quiet. Nice restaurant for dinner and beakfast. Hotel is located in the old town not too far from from railway station. Would stay there again.
Review 87:Clock striking every quarter hour but it stopped at 10pm, started again at 6am with one bell.
Review 88:When we arrived, being 3 single women, we asked to be changed from a double plus single to 3 singles and this was done without question. Well located in old town and easy walking distance from train station.
Review 89:Reception was on the first floor which could only be reached by stairs. My 82 year old mother was travelling with us and this was not a good start to our trip. The lift to our rooms was tiny and they put us on separate floors even though we had booked 2 months earlier.
Review 90:Breakfast was excellent and included in the price. Having discovered that Switzerland is VERY expensive, the room price was good value. Our ensuite had a bath which was nice and the bed was very comfortable.
Review 91:Elevator was tiny and there were stairs to go up to reception, and not much room in the room, with double basins in the room. On the other hand this meant that two people could get ready without one hogging the bathroom. We forgave this lovely old hotel its slightly dated shortcomings due to the friendly and efficient staff and reasonable price.
Review 92:The location of the hotel in this lovely town was good - close to everything but in a peaceful area. The staff were lovely - warm, friendly and efficient. Room was well presented. The view from the window was gorgeous. Great shower. The price was reasonable and good value.
Review 93:Bathroom cubicle very tiny and only one per floor.
Review 94:The hotel and room were of a good standard, staff very friendly and helpful. Close to rail station and shopping. Bathroom is very small, one shower and 2 separate toilets at one end of the long hallway.
Review 95:The pillows didn't provide much support so I didn't get a very good night's sleep. The only English speaking channel on TV was CNN.
Review 96:The breakfast was very good and the staff at the front desk was very helpful.
Review 97:Is very expensive for non-Swiss travelers, as all the hotels inSwitzerland.
Review 98:It is a very decent hotel with rooms of sufficient size, comfortablebeds and good breakfast buffet. Wifi works properly.
Review 99:Elevator was tiny and you have to manually open the exterior door, which is quite awkward when you are wrangling a suitcase at the same time. We ended up using the stairs except my sister who had a bum foot.
Review 100:Much more modern and updated than expected. All the furniture and fixtures were in good order and worked well. Loved hearing all the church bells ringing out the quarter and full hours, but they may keep you awake. Hotel restaurant was excellent - we even returned after the waiter spilled my wine and got some on my shirt, pants and shoes.
Review 101:Breakfast though not bad, does not compare favourably with other hotels in Chur.
Review 102:Good and friendly, efficient staff who were happy to provide a kettle for my room. Both of these points make a big difference to my level of satisfaction and comfort.
Review 103:We have no objections. We are so happy to stay at this hotel, we have hope that someday we will stay there again.
Review 104:We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The breakfasts were delicious and the service very nice. Bedding was changed every day and around it was very clean. Everywhere it was close, because the hotel is located in the center. During the night was silent and we slept comfortably.
Review 105:No tea/coffee making facilities.
Review 106:The food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast plentiful and tasty. The location was perfect - right in the centre of town.
Review 107:Nothing, except the first room offered.
Review 108:I was allowed to check-in early and was disappointed as the room didn't look at all like the nice ones in the photos - it was cold and sterile, and there was no minibar. When I spoke to the gentleman at reception about this (I didn't mention my dislike of the room), I was informed some of the rooms don't have a minibar. When I said I had booked a room with a minibar, he was very helpful, made a phone call or two then told me there would be another room available later with minibar but it wouldn't be ready until after noon. That was fine by me, didn't mind having to wait at all. The second room I was given was lovely - much bigger, much nicer and better furnishings plus it had two very large windows with mountain views. I only stayed one night but I loved that room. Excellent location in the old town. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 109:No lift from street level to reception - definetely not handicapfriendly. The smallest elevator I've ever seen in a hotel - could hardly fit the two of us and our overnight bags. The breakfast was very poor - bad coffee, soft croissants, tasteless cheese but the worst was the thing for cooking your own eggs - I gave the first egg 7 minutes, and the second 10 minutes but they were both still raw...
Review 110:The beds were nice and firm. The water from the shower actually stayed in the shower which is seldom seen in hotels. Two good towels per person. Location in the middle of Chur.
Review 111:Very helpful receptionist. Knew where I could find an electrical shop (I needed a USB cable), she even knew the opening times. Showed me to the garage so I could put my bike in. Clean comfortable reasonably prices room. Will stay here again when passing through Chur.
Review 112:Our room is facing the road, and the church bell rings until 10 pm! And the road was quite noisy till late at night. But other than that, it was nice stay. The reception staff was helpfull in providing information.
Review 113:The floor was not clean enough to walk in bare feet in my room. The entry space is dingy.
Review 114:The breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable. The position and price are good.
Review 115:seperate shower and toilette, shower room is very small.
Review 116:Hotel is close to the railway station, 10 min. walking. Room is basic but quite OK for us. Breakfast quite well. Ladies at reception and restaurant were both very nice. Had swiss Fondue at the hotel restaurant, excellent.
Review 117:Nothing bad. Parking was a little confusing. City is expensive!!!
Review 118:Hotel was located in old city. very convenient. Staff went out of their way to help us! Spoke English! Friendly!
Review 119:The beds were a little soft, which can be an issue to people with back problems. The shared shower was 1 floor down, which is not a big deal but still a bit weird.
Review 120:The location of the hotel is excellent. Right at the entrance of the Old town, and since Chur is not a big city, you can reach anywhere with great ease. The staff was helpful and always smiling. The room was big and spacious. They also gave discount cards to be used at the hotel's restaurant. It is a nice little hotel and I'd recommend it if you were to visit Chur.
Review 121:Great location for station where we had an early start.Breakfast excellent and also available early.Receptionist very helpful and provided adaptor for electricals. All in all a good venue.
Review 122:VERY over priced for what was offered. First room allocated unacceptable due to work on the neighbouring property's roof which meant no privacy - something they should have been clearly aware of but failed to take note of - what happened in their case to Swiss efficiency??? The quality of the room I finally used was piss poor. White gloss finish on ALL the wood furnishings. Breakfast room had an atmosphere more like a waiting room for a doctors or worse an undertakers. Let's add into the mix there was NO sign of the hotel's owners at any time to enquire after their guests and what they thought. I am happy to visit Chur again but it will be a cold day in hell before I even consider booking a room at drei konige should I go back to this very pleasant city.
Review 123:Close to station
Review 124:Lift to rooms was a bit cramped, particularly when the doors fold inward.
Review 125:Clean, comfortable hotel in old town. Friendly staff. Excellent local cuisine in the restaurant at dinner, good variety of food at breakfast. Quiet location with little traffic noise - church bells and a children's choir practising in the evening don't really constitute noise. Few minutes walk to the train station.
Review 126:Thin walls... Could hear someone snoring in a room near us.
Review 127:Very nice host...breakfast was great... Great location.
Review 128:Staffs are very friendly, location is good, and room is cozy.
Review 129:No parking directly at the hotel, but there was metered parking nearby
Review 130:Good breakfast, and wide range of breakfast times
Review 131:Have to share shower room and toilet.
Review 132:The location is good. The room is big and tidy.
Review 133:Needs updating. Gloomy hallway.
Review 134:Friendly helpful reception. The breakfast, included was good.
