Reviews for La Barrière de Transinne
Review 1:Beautiful hotel, excellent restaurant, modern stylish decor, a foodie and wine lovers delight. Easy to find just off the motorway in lovely wooded countryside.
Review 2:Arrived on a Monday evening at 8pm. The restaurant was closed and staff were unable to offer anything to eat. Also, no restaurants are nearby - so bring a sandwich if you stay on a Monday!
Review 3:Breakfast very poor. Consisted of a few pastries which didn't appear to be very fresh. Yoghurt and a few pots of toppings for the loaf of bread. We couldn't help ourself to hot drinks and when we wanted a top up had to find someone. Very disappointing. Also we chose this hotel for its 24 hour reception desk but had a call from hotel to ask us when we would be arriving as there would not be the 24 hour service.
Review 4:The room we stayed in was superb. Spotless and very nice decor.
Review 5:The hotel is just between 2 roads. So there is noise. Also the rooms can get really hot and there is no airco or fan. So if you want to leave your window open you have all the noise from the cars passing by. Breakfast is ok but a bit more choice would be better.
Review 6:Really nice rooms despite the carpet, modern large bathrooms and friendly staff.
Review 7:The first day we had breakfast on tbe Tuesday at between 8-9 am. There was no cooked food & we had to boil our own egg. We thought this was unacceptable. On our return, later in the week the breakfast was satisfactory.
Review 8:The room was attractive & very convenient for parking the car.
Review 9:Well, the first room was having a strong and unpleasant smell, wechanged rooms and the second room was small and in the attic. With opentoilet meaning no door to have some privacy;( the staff was veryhelpful and friendely to book us other hotel and it was even cheaperand 100% better.
Review 10:Location
Review 11:The evening meal was good quality but very expensive. Good if you want to treat yourself but not if you are just wanting a bite to eat before turning in.
Review 12:Very convenient location, easy to find, plenty of parking, excellent choice for breakfast.
Review 13:No fridge in the bedroom
Review 14:The hotel is very new, opened in July 2014 and everything is decorated with taste and style. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, clean and elegant. The bed is exceptionally good quality and the staff is very friendly. The food of the restaurant is high quality standard. The morning breakfast is a freshly made continental buffet nothing exceptional although the kitchen delivers fabulous dishes from the menu when you are eating in the restaurant at lunch or in the evening. A place to remember when visiting the Belgian Ardennes.
Review 15:Little bit noise disturbance of the traffic road and adjoining rooms
Review 16:Really a TOP quality restaurant (**) Very friendly staff Very clean, nice & tasteful accommodation Lovely environment to walk & bike
Review 17:The breakfast offer on the first day was limited. The wine in the restaurant menu was not so good.
