Review 1：We travelled with our children (5 and 1 years old) so we booked a triple room with a supletory cot for the baby. What we found was a king-size bed and a sofa bed with a horrible and deformed mattress. My children sleeped with my wife and I decided to sleep on the sofa. I had my worst night ever thanks to that decission. But I couldn't have let my children sleep there. In the morning I made a complain at the reception to a non-interested recepcionist. Then, a person who looked in charge came and took note of my email and telephone ensuring that she was going to offer me a better room as a compensation since I had planned to come back on the 7th of January. I'm still waiting for it... Apart from that, the main light of the room didnt work and the shower plate is extremely slippery. Not to mention the horrible dinnner at the hotel's bar. Pasta and toasts absolutely untasteful. Pasta arrabiatta was actually pasta with tabasco. However, it cost like it was delicious. So expensive. Breakfast was about 15€/each so, after such a experience, we decided to have breakfast at the airport. I use to travel quite oftenly although rarely And this is, undoubtedly the worst hotel I have stayed. That is why I highly reccommend NOT to stay in this hotel.

Review 2：The location was good. A 10 minute drive to the airport.

Review 3：It was very difficult to find the entrance to the hotel. In the dark and with rain, I went twice around a 5-6 minute loop trying to find my way in. For a solo traveller, relying on the sat nav, I was taken to the wrong side of the hotel where there is no entrance and told I had arrived. My room had been previously occupied by someone who smoked. I suppose I could have complained but after 10 hours driving I was very tired and did not have the energy to return to reception. It seems petty not to be provided with more than a bar of soap... And I was disappointed to be charged for having my small dog with me....

Review 11：Entrance road to hotel was hard to see; just know the hotel and restaurant is the large building on the corner of the freeway. Also from the airport our GPS brought us through the "red light district" of town (nothing to fault the hotel for, but just good to know so you have less "surprise" haha). Once through that little stretch all was normal, and the hotel is NOT near that area so no worries.

Review 12：Able to order light meal and beer in the bar and have it delivered to the room until 10:30 PM. Room was large, tv channels in various languages, coffee maker and coffee in the room. As seems to be a norm in Belgium, the toilet and bath/sinks are in two separate places in your room - this came in handy for one person to use the restroom while another bathed. Free parking, and large parking lot used for restaurant and hotel. Supermarket (mentioned in other posts) is directly behind the hotel, walking distance. It had a very nice variety of fresh produce, croissants, beer/wine, pre-made sandwiches/salads, toiletries... anything you could want. We stocked up for our drive across Belgium before leaving.

Review 13：The reception staff could have some training on approach clients. Free toiletries means that you will not have shampoo and shower gel separated, but the same gel for hair and body It was the first hotel where I have to pay before I seen where I will sleep, and I do not want to think that it was because I'm from Romania

However, it was around noon and the driver probably had his lunch hour, which seems much more important than picking up passengers that are in the freezing cold waiting after a flight. I find the present service not acceptable. Shuttle bus frequency is very low (20 mins), which means that coming back from holidays the waiting time (outside) on the parking garage is very inconvinient.

We have booked and paid – Three ( 3 ) Rooms There was no aircondition in the room at all and our 2 rooms were in the basement so it was not safe to open the – garden- room doors since it leads to the main street. Hotel is simple one night stay – before the flight but air-condition is a must!!

Review 75：The price did not correspond to the price that was indicated on the Booking reservation (30% more!) -- the bedroom for 3 was just a regular double, and the bed that was hastily added to it was meant for a small child, so that the third person had a terrible night. This extra bed was charged around 40 euros, in spite of the fact the reception acknowleged their mistake. They also charged the additional person for the shuttle to the airport (which normally is included in the package of the room) In addition, the parking lot is a total wasteland, and there is a gipsy camp nearby. Avoid this hotel and find another "park and fly" solution with other hotels of the area.

Review 76：Spacious, nicely decorated room. Normally the Van der Valk chain hotels are great, it is just this particular Charleroi hotel that has a really bad management and a poor location.

Review 87：We stayed at the hotel for just one night as we had a few night-hours gap between 2 flights. First it was difficult to get into the room - the key only worked after 10ish attempt. After finally getting in, we were (un)welcomed by a big bug flying in it + one bug was already smashed against the wall by someone else (so it was never cleaned off...) and...the worst part... the bed was simply impossible to fall asleep in - the mattress was really old and totally uncomfortable. So just spent a sleepless night and then took a shower before we left. And, last but not least, bathroom could have been cleaned better and sink could have been functioning properly...

Review 88：The biggest shock on a rare tropical summer day in Belgium was the lack of air conditioners in the rooms and throughout the whole hotel. So we hardly had 2 hours of sleep before a very early flight. The food was not good, maybe it was because of the heat.

We were mainly interested in a hot breakfast, but there was only hot sausages, boiled eggs and some sort of toast with something on it. A la carte menu: The staff were attentive, but forgot to bring our starters. After about 40 minutes, I had to remind them that we were still waiting. The main course was disappointing. My steak, had been cremated and the rest of the food arrived in dribs and drabs.
