Reviews for Hotel Alegro
Review 1:I am normally a very critical person. But I'm really happy to concede the fact nothing was lacking in our stay at Hotel Alegro.
Review 2:Marvelous location, clean vicinity, banks, restaurants, cafes nearby. The property itself a has impressive features. It's is priced for a 3 star hotel but distinctly offers a 5 star Boutique hotel experience.Amazingly clean and well decorated interiors giving a plush look. Sparkling clean maintenance from the lobby all the way to the rooms and bathrooms. We stayed in a Standard Double room which had a view to the cute restaurant's patio seating, situated in our hotel. The room furnishings are modern and well equipped for our daily needs. The bed linen smelt like fresh daisies. Pillows and mattress had just the right softness and comfort.Bathrooms were spacious with abundant toiletries. The water pressure in shower was strong. Tight glass doors meant No water splashing on floors at all.Air conditioning was really good and wifi had strong reception in every corner of the hotel as well as rooms. But above all, it was the courtesy and eagerness of the two front desk staff, Angelica & Broyana, which won us over. They had a brimming smile and sparkling eyes with a "YES WE CAN" attitude, each time guests would need them.We were particularly impressed with the professional way they handled all basic queries before arrival through emails, to managing our last minute requested DAY-TOURS planning. We desperately needed an English speaking tour guide to show us around Turnovo, something even the local Tourist Information office lacked, despite their earlier assurances.Angelica managed at the eleventh hour to arrange for us a remarkable person who is not only fluent in English but also well read in history. And why wouldn't he be? After all he is an archeologist. The tours were swiftly arranged according to our preferences and cost us significantly less than regular tour operators. We are thankful to our guide Mr Rumen Kolev, and of course the brilliant staff at Hotel Alegro for making our short stay in Turnovo, most memorable.
Review 3:the room was on 2 floor right above the outdoor café. as we are non smokers we struggle with the smoke coming up all the time. it was hard not to open the window at all as the room is little and fresh air was needed.
Review 4:staff were fantastic!!! any question was answered regardless of language barriers. thank you so much, keep up a good job!
Review 5:Breakfast could be more substantial. Lift buttons need new labels.
Review 6:Clean airconditioned rooms, polite efficient and exceptionally helpful day staff. Cheap parking.
Review 7:The room smelled of cigarettes. It was noisy from the stairs and the corridor by around 2 am.
Review 8:The hotel has one of the best locations in the new part of the town.
Review 9:Breakfast had 4 options but French breakfast was pancakes and were too sweet & croissant with too much chocolate not good if you like savory food.. English breakfast average. Food not very warm. No tea coffee in rooms. Single malt whiskey expensive and no Black Ram whiskey which is Bulgarian. Female waiting staff a little surly.
Review 10:The restaurant and seating outside for alfresco eating. Closeness to restaurants and to the Assen's monument a 20 minute walk. A stop for ice cream down the hill to the monument. Hotel paid for first hour of parking which is 1 lev per hour booked by SMS quite easily. Decor downstairs very nice. Rooms not so good and need upgrade and we would pay a little more for this.
Review 11:The only thing that lets this nice hotel down is the absolutly appalling breakfast!! It was so bad, we only went twice to eat there - the hot food was not even tepid, it was stone cold, everything looked jaded and tired and none too. There was no milk for the cereals - and we found no one in sight to ask - the juice was diluted squash and the coffee dreadful. This really needs addressing my the management because it really does this hotel no justice at all.
Review 12:Lovely location, facing a pretty park. Within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and coffee bars etc. Very clean room, serviced each day which was nice (we were there for five nights). Warm and quiet, very good value for the money.
Review 13:Bar closed early in the evening on most nights which is a shame for returning residents.
Review 14:Stayed when it first opened many years ago. Still a very comfortable hotel situated in a convenient and central position. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. The are some very ordinary hotels in Turnovo. This isn't one of them. Highly recommended.
Review 15:In the continental breakfast menu there is a boiled egg. Which is served cold, directly from the fridge (it was boiled before, though)

Review 38:This hotel has got a good atmosphere. You feel it within the walls. The staff is very helpful and you have to visit hotel restaurant.
Review 39:Doors and window shades not good enough to block noises from the stairs and light from outside. Very poor breakfast (you can hardly choose something).
Review 40:Central location, nice and clean room, friendly staff, good wifi coverage, free available parking (during weekends only, though). Good price.
Review 41:I had an economy type room which had no balcony.
Review 42:The hotel is central, near shops, park, restaurants. Everything you need is very close, breakfast is continental with 6 different choises (french, english, bulgarian, etc), the beds are king sized. Parking is in front of the hotel, if you come in weeeknd you don't have to pay. Otherwise is recommended to pay a small amount/day.
