Reviews for Hotel Duc De Bouillon

Review 1:I left a shirt in the wardrobe, emailed them the next day but did not get a reply.

Review 2:Large airy room with large modern bathroom. Helped us with our bicycle storage in the hotel, excellent Italian restaurant.

Review 3:The WiFi didn't work in the room but did as soon as we stepped out of the room into the hallway. There is no parking but they don't advertise that there is. As we were on Motorbikes this wasn't too much of any issue and we found 'Moto' parking spaces around the corner. The only way to shower without getting water everywhere is to sit down in the bath as there was no shower curtain.

Review 4:Location and the fact they have a restaurant downstairs

Review 5:at one point there was nobody at the reception and we were locked out of the hotel, we needed to call someone to open the door.

Review 6:good location at the main square.

Review 7:We asked for a quiet room: they put us at street side above a noisy bar. I catched 6 spiders in our room before going to sleep. A bath, but no fixed shower point against the wall to take a shower, nor a screen to hold the water from flooding bathroom. Personnel too busy with restaurant underneath to look after hotel. Wifi didn't work. No way to park your car anyway near the hotel.

Review 8:Beds were good

Review 9:The Duc de Bouillon is a comfortable traditional hotel with a good ambience and an excellent restaurant. The location is an ideal base for exploring the compact and interesting town centre.

Review 10:curtains don't close (I used safetypins), the furniture looks tired, the windowsills really need some paint

Review 11:breakfast was great, nice big bathroom, everything is very clean, italian restaurant downstairs

Review 12:- no elevator - "double bed" is actually two single-beds just combined together.

Review 13:Restaurant downstairs - is the best Italian place out of Italy we have ever been!

Review 14:It was not always easy to approach the staff as the counter was left vacant and staff was mostly in the kitchen of the restaurant; a billiard was mentioned in the description of the hotel but we could not find this (however, we also did not approach staff to ask whether there was one or not);

Review 15:The hotel is very conveniently located in the center of the town at two steps from the central bus stop; the restaurant of the hotel offers a cozy atmosphere and great breakfast; the room was clean and comfortable, cable TV was available; a supermarket and different shops and restaurants are within walking distance;

Review 16:No reception at all, we had to go through the restaurant with our bags during dinner time. If needed something the room telephone was inoperative. Wifi was extremely slow so I couldn't do any last check about what to do in Bouillon. No shampoo and the view on the rooms is very limited. In short, it is a far 2 stars hotel, very very overpriced, perhaps in line with Bouillon which is in general an overpriced place to go.

Review 17:Location

Review 18:A little confusing to check in. You have to connect with the restaurant to check in and out. A few spider webs in the corners of the room.

Review 19:The location is perfect. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant below the hotel is wonderful and very convenient. The room was nice. I would stay there again.

Review 20:Great central location.

Review 21:Internet only works on the lobby

Review 22:The place is very well situated

Review 23:The hotel location is great with so many shops, bars and restaurants within ashort walk.

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:Perfect location for visiting this town, friendly staff, very good value for money

Review 26:Where do I start...? It was closed when we arrived. We had to call a mobile phone number to get someone to come and open up. This young lady, gave me two keys ( for our room and our friends room ) and then left. I was in a dark reception area, having to make my way up a darkened staircase and grope along an unlit corridor to find the rooms. The hotel was unattended throughout the night ( what about fire risk or other emergency ? ) Don't choose this hotel unless you are intent on seeking out the very worst places to stay in Europe - if that is the case then , welcome, you've found it.

Review 27:Checking out the following morning....

Review 28:Rooms facing the street are noisy as windows are not double glazed - they will be changing them apparently Room felt damp, but we had turned off the heating at night Beds too soft and uncomfortable

Review 29:Great location, right in the heart of Bouillon Friendly manager, nice warm welcome Good price for location and room compared to other hotels nearby

Review 30:Very friendly, fabulous location, very clean and welcoming. We returned on our homeward journey and stayed in the same family room as we liked the place and the town so much.

Review 31:The owner cannot speak a word of English. I asked for a room wit a view of the castle and was told to pay more for another room. Room very small, bathroom with no shower and no air conditioning. Room noisy.

Review 32:Breakfast was the same as in the rest of France. Bed was comfortable and room was clean, but tired. Very well positioned in sleepy little town. Actually only a few rooms on top of a huge Pizzeria. Everything smelt of garlic.

Review 33:Perhaps it's a little noisy but it could have been bad luck...

Review 34:Fantastic village and great hotel. Walking distance from everything you might need. Nice, clean, modern rooms. Great staff

Review 35:The room was quite hot and not much breeze came through the window. We didnt have a view but we booked last minute on a budget so I presume there are rooms with a view.

Review 36:The hotel is very quirky which I loved. Excellent value for money if your wanting to stay fow one or two nights. The rooms were decent size with a big double bed. Location is perfect as it is situated right in the centre of town. Friendly staff although didnt speak much english which is more my problem because I should speak french!

Review 37:The reception desk was usually empty, so it may be not so easy to check in, unless you make a telephone call to the hotel.

Review 38:We spent 1 night in Hotel Duc de Bouillon, which is combined with a lovely Italian restaurant (breakfast is served there). The room was cosy and clean, breakfast was also OK. Hotel is located in the heart of Bouillon which is a relatively small town. No private parking, but you can easily find a parking place in the neighbourhood for free. Wi-Fi connection is good, free of charge.

Review 39:Pretty noisy, in the room you could hear persons in other rooms talk, step, etc. which kept us from sleep. Room is quite warm and not easy to ventilate.

Review 40:Good beds, clean bathroom. Pizzeria below is nice and good value for money. Bouillon as a city is not much, unless it's good weather to do sports.

Review 41:The room was not prepared on arrival and took about 10 minutes to be given a different room. This room smelt of urine from the bathroom. The window was difficult to open and had a hairline crack.

Review 42:I sent emails and asked questions in the days prior to my stay, and I got no response. I waited more than 15 minutes to be checked in because the restaurant was very busy and I couldn't get help at the desk. Walls must have been thin... nocturnal activities in the neighboring rooms were very audible! Language issues: I speak Enligsh and Dutch, but staff I talked to spoke French, Italian, and German. Oops. Despite these issues, I would still recommend the place!

Review 43:The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful, despite our language barrier issues. The restaurant was very good.

Review 44:I would like to have had guaranteed parking. During a busier time, youmay need to leave your car a ways from the hotel.

Review 45:Bouillon is a sleepy river town and the Duc de Bouillon sits on a steepnarrow side street. We stayed on a Monday evening and may have beenpossibly the only guests at the hotel that evening. The hotel clerk waswaiting for us to arrive and was very friendly but spoke very littleEnglish. She directed us to an on street parking spot about a block fromthe hotel. Apparently, the hotel has no reserved parking available? Ourrooms were on the second floor (no elevator). Rooms were clean andcomfortable. The family room was excellent with a bunk bed and a playarea in an attached room. The restaurant was closed as were also all theshops and eating establishments after 6:00 (I assume since it wasMonday?). The location is excellent right on the main intersectionadjacent to the bridge that puts you in close walking proximity to theother half of Bouillon. The breakfast the next morning was excellentwith a table per for my family. Service was superb with the ownerproviding special attention to the children’s needs. There are hotelswith better ratings in Bouillon, but they are located away from the citycenter. I would not hesitate to stay at the Duc de Bouillon again.

Review 46:I liked the very friendly congenial hostess, I assume she was the owner. Was helpful in every way to answer our questions. Terrific surroundings to explore, the Duke Godfrey castle was great.

Review 47:They staff didn't speak English. It was very difficuelt to find a person to talk to - the reception didn't have any opening hours. Check in between 15-20, but the room was not ready 15.45. No heating/hot water the first night. Difficuelt to find a parkingspace in the city ara.

Review 48:Nice location, when we found a staff member they were very friendly, but didn't speak English.

Review 49:Could be somewhat reniewed but is ok for the price.

Review 50:Location and value for money. Also the breakfast is sufficient and good.

Review 51:staff not interested no car-parking

Review 52:location room a decent size

Review 53:slechte wifi-verbinding

Review 54:Het personeel was heel vriendelijk en spontaan

Review 55:Only a shower. We can hear the neightboors.

Review 56:Location, in the centrum of Bouillon. Staff was really friendly.

Review 57:missing light bulbs in some lamps

Review 58:friendly people

Review 59:Nothing!

Review 60:A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a warm welcome and excellent food.

Review 61:All round, very good indeed. Great value. Excellent restaurant.

Review 62:Really friendly staff, excellent value for money, nice clean rooms, great location

Review 63:The food and the people. The caste was awesome as well

Review 64:Good sized rooms and very comfortable.

Review 65:Parking !

Review 66:Hotel rooms were fresh and spotless. Staff excellent as was food.

Review 67:Breakfast. We went to the bakery across the street instead.

Review 68:Location. Small but okay (clean) hotelroom.
