Reviews for Hostellerie du Cerf

Review 1:The location of the hotel was excellent. We travelled by motorbike so roads nearby were fantastic. Also secure garaged parking for motorbike. Family run hotel so made you feel extremely welcome. Great food . Would definitely return .

Review 2:Owner is very friendly and helpful. Food was exquisite, fresh and delicious with nice assortment of ingredients from the inn's garden. A relaxing, homey feel and great value.

Review 3:Quirky hotel in the countryside outside Bouillon, surrounded by green. The property is very clean and quiet. We had a large double on the top floor, which was very comfortable. The lady owner was very friendly (she is the only person we ever saw over our 2-nights stay). Breakfast was satisfying and the set dinner was 5*. Highly recommended.

Review 4:Our room was nice and spacious, overlooking the garden and the woods. The owner, who is English, was very welcoming and very nice. The breakfast was amazing! Lots to choose from... and delicious homemade jam! The hotel has a very convenient lounge area.

Review 5:Perfect breakfast

Review 6:No comments.

Review 7:Everything, Very pleasent and helfull owners and staff. Food was excellent and comfortable accommadation. Booking description just as advertised. Thank you for a very pleasent stay, Trevor and company.

Review 8:An owner run hotel, with very friendly and excellent service. Food was very good and the place was inviting if somewhat eclectic. Location was very suited to what we wanted with country side surrounding the hotel. Beds were very comfortable.

Review 9:Hotel is old-fashioned in style Hotel is not ideal for small kids and staff seamed uneasy with having a young child in the dining room at breakfast Hotel was unable to provide milk when asked and asked us to go buy our own, while there turned out to be plenty of milk at breakfast The beds were old and squeeky The hotel decided not to serve dinner on the second night but only informed us when we asked (which we luckily did in advance)

Review 10:Countryside, centrally positioned in Ardennes Price, good value for money

Review 11:TV not good, almost no channels even no Flemish Belgian channels. No lunch or diner possible if not enough people booked before. Very far from center Bouilon, only possible to go if you have a car. Rooms very small.

Review 12:Great host, very friendly, very clean and close to many interesting places to visit around like Sedan or Bouillon Center. Good value for the price.Good breakfast and very fair accomodations for what you pay. Excellent place if you like to relax and if you want to hear no noise.

Review 13:Nothing.

Review 14:Everything. Bart is an amazing chef. The food was probably the best wehad in 3 weeks of touring Holland, Belgium,Germany and France! Thefacility is impeccable and the location outside Bouillon was perfect. The countryside is beautiful and so is Hostellerie du Cerf.

Review 15:Nothing. Everything was as we wished for and better!

Review 16:I think fantastic is an understatement. The warm welcome by Chrissy, thefantastic food made by Bart and the way they treat people is amazing. This place is so worth going to ! The room we got was big, neat, cleanand above all very very cosy with a beautiful view and all we needed wasthere. No matter what we asked Chrissy, nothing was too much for her.She gave us some tips of things to visit and we did it all. From abasilique in a little village in France to the Castle of Bouillon. Ducerf is a place where customers are not treated as kings but as emperors! First class for us and for sure we will be back.

Review 17:The room was spotless and the location was ideal with a beautiful backyard and just 10 minutes away from the Bouillon castle. They even have a fixed menu for dinner which we enjoyed a lot. The service was flawless.

Review 18:Hostellerie du Cerf has large bedrooms and baths which are very nicely decorated. Our room was clean with a very comfortable bed in a quiet location. The hostess was attentive to our needs, extremely friendly, and provided helpful suggestions on places to see in the area. The dining room is extremely charming. Breakfasts were very good but if you have the opportunity have one or more dinners cooked by the host. The presentation and taste were exquisite and you would not be able to find a better prepared meal for the price within anywhere close to the Bouillon area.

Review 19:Very friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room/bathroom. Location well out of Bouillon, so relatively quiet - our room faced onto the road but we were not disturbed by traffic. Fixed menu; in our case a fish cassoulet to die for, magret de canard and dessert of chocolate sponge with melted chocolate inside - mmm! Would definitely return; no sign of Basil Fawlty or Sybil on our visit!

Review 20:No lift. No tea/coffee making facility. Room cheaply furnished and noisy- but adequate. It was a bit like staying at "Fawlty Towers"!

Review 21:The food was good - provided one liked what was offered as there were noalternatives..

Review 22:Warmth of welcome from English hostess. Good dinner and breakfast.Dinner cooked by owner/husband. Bedroom very comfortable and twofriendly dogs.

Review 23:Very sweet and warm hotel!! The hosts are friendly, the decoration is beautiful, and very important: the dinner is wonderful! Be careful when you follow the GPS guide of the hotel, since it will lead you to no where. Just put the address of the hotel it will help you to find it.

Review 24:Room #2 located above some machine (boiler?) which tended to make anunpleasant noise in the morning as people got up and used warm water.

Review 25:Very friendly people, always willing to help customers out with planningtrips. Very nice lunch-packages. Hostellerie has a beautiful garden torelax in after hikes/bikes in Bouillon (10' by car) area.
