Reviews for Digby Pines Golf Resort

Review 1:Room small, walls thin u can hear your neighbors. Dinning room beautiful, dinner tasted mass produced. Would not bother eating there.

Review 2:The pool and views were great. staff friendly and accommodating. Grounds beautiful.

Review 3:Nothing.

Review 4:Loved the lovely charm of bygone days when travel meant dressing your best - not that you have to to enjoy The Pines. Location is perfect, the staff extremely friendly and the food VERY good! So glad we stayed at The Pines.

Review 5:dinner was terrible rib steak I could not eat was so bad, wine is way overpriced, dinning has been disappointing last few years we have been spending our anniversary there since1997 use to be great

Review 6:Great room'friendly staff,

Review 7:Liked it all.

Review 8:Lovely old style resort. We visited off season so it was quite peaceful. Room not huge, but quite adequate. Seems to have been redone recently. Staff very welcoming. Nice heated pool protected from wind. Enjoyable lunch.

Review 9:the price for a small room and cause old buliding showers was ok u knew when someone flushed their tolet on the other floors and how small the rooms was for the price but the grounds and staff other things make up for it!

Review 10:the grounds and the main buliding its old and the staff was great very relaxing place great place to and just chill

Review 11:Room was quite small for such a large resort, and sounds carried clearly throughout the halls. Breakfast was a disaster as our server did everything wrong, including completely forgetting my order. To compensate, she did not charge for my breakfast, but it held us back an hour. Not up to the standards of that resort.

Review 12:Location was very good and facilities also very good. Front desk staff very friendly and accommodating.

Review 13:Needed sunglasses in dining room, apparently no control on lighting? On or off? Does not spell romantic, will dine in town next visit :-(

Review 14:Great staff, clean,beautiful grounds.

Review 15:the only thing missing in the room was a mini fridge, that would have made it more comfortable and convenient

Review 16:the location was great, the grounds are well kept and inviting. The entertainment was also very good

Review 17:Our problems were ours, not their issue.(We're old and have mobility issues... nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay.)

Review 18:Really enjoyed the atmosphere and although the weather was not good, the grounds/views were terrific… also we were very pleased with Churchill's / fine dining.

Review 19:Small quarters in bedroom/bath. Eliminate 1 of the chairs for more movability. No Available coffee/cream/juice 24/7 @no charge

Review 20:Available mixed drinks till 10:00PM The hotel is just beautiful.

Review 21:See above...I was attending a wedding on the property and also the chairs they put for us a few of them had dangerous cracks by the legs...we had to get people to move as we found them.

Review 22:Booked a pick up at the ferry they forgot and I had to call twice while waiting they had forgot after my first call..40 minutes waiting.

Review 23:Rooms are small. Ordered a pork dish in their dining room and the meat was almost all fat. Complained to the waitress who said (she would bring it to the attention of the chef) no other corrective action offered

Review 24:Dinner at the restaurant was very disappointing. Very expensive, the food quality was average, the staff was not engaged, not well trained, waitress did not know anything about the menu and could not explain basic question about a steak or wine. Asking for anything seemed like a lot of trouble. You could have had dinner for three nights in the restaurants in town right on the waterfront with much better experience for the price of one dinner at the Pines.

Review 25:The location and staff friendliness

Review 26:Our Standard King room (106) was too close to the lobby and offices, which gave us some unwanted noise after 11PM and early in the morning. I expect most other rooms did not have t his problem. Restaurant was good but expensive.

Review 27:Great location for our activities, beautiful hotel lobby, live entertainment, and great pool and gym. Reception was excellent! The front desk helped us out with a very last minute whale watching tour booking, which was wonderful.

Review 28:Bathroom needs updating, plastic cups in room not glass, no fridge or mini bar, breakfast buffet was cold and uninspiring and same each day, dining not as good as in past years

Review 29:Location, setting, evening entertainment

Review 30:I found the room to be pricey and the $3 bottle of water in the room should have been complementary Or not offered at all.

Review 31:The 'old school' feel

Review 32:The service was a disaster -- staff not trained nor interested in their customers. The dining room was impeccably designed -- but the food was mediocre and the service was a disaster !! The service people were not trained and incapable of serving!!

Review 33:Location, excellent facility designed and constructed in the era of fine living !! Design and decor was exceptional

Review 34:When we arrived there was a problem with our request. Room service took 2 hours when 30 mins was promised. A drunk wedding guest tried to enter our room loudly at 4am. One small soap between the tub and sink, another was requested but not left. Slow service on the bar outside after it was requested. (15 mins) Drinks and appetizer served with no napkins, plates or utensils. When they were requested it took almost 10 mins. The waitress at in the dining room was not trained and we were already in August. Ask to speak to the hotel manager twice, she was not available or on site. Fourth and last stay.

Review 35:Convenient location, old but charming and pretty well maintained.

Review 36:Room very small, window small - no balcony. Bathroom & closet doors would not close. Extremely warm (no A/C) in hallways & main floor , 6-7 people waiting in heat to check in. Not user friendly for people with physical disabilities (friend with walker was put on 3rd floor where there were 2 sets of steps to go down to his room). Walking area around the pool was extremely slippery due to water being present. Hand rail was unsteady getting into the pool at shallow end so much so I was not comfortable getting into the pool with my hip replacement. A child slipped & fell while walking around the side of the pool on the cement in front of 6 of us. Pool area needs coating of a rough substance for traction to prevent falls.

Review 37:Paul Mason - Singer - Excellent. Pool & grounds were lovely

Review 38:In spite of what they say it is not handicapped friendly. I am not in awheel chair but use a heavy-duty walker. Our room was on the thirdfloor, eight steps down from the elevator. I should have had a room theother side of the elevator. The rooms are very small and in need of amake-over.

Review 39:The Gardens and outside view.

Review 40:Loved everything about the resort, staff was very nice, gift shop, bar staff all very nice. Anyone you met in the guest room hallway staff was very pleasant. I also used the spa, excellent treatment choices.

Review 41:Outdated facility. Sink faucet almost impossible to turn on. Room was tiny. Hotel has set of high steps at entrance, no ramp to roll suitcases

Review 42:Room was quiet

Review 43:The cottage had no WiFi signal as they are away from the main building.

Review 44:The hotel is majestically set on a cliff overlooking the bay. Very nice view from the upper floor. The lobby area is grand and although large, it makes you feel private in your own spot.

Review 45:When we got there, they had no record of our reservation and no equivalent rooms available. Luckily I had brought a hard copy, and after about 30 minutes they located their copy. It had been entered into their system with the incorrect month. They did their best to find us a similar room, but it was not the room we had requested. Room service breakfast was advertised as being served from 6:30 to 10 AM. We ordered breakfast the evening before to be delivered at 8 AM. They took the order and said "see you at 8!" At 8:20, it hadn't been delivered. We were on a tight schedule, so we called and asked where it was. They said they couldn't have promised it for 8AM since they only get there at 8 and were rushing to get it up to us. They seemed very disorganized for such an upscale resort.

Review 46:Beautiful setting and luxurious accommodations. Good on site restaurant.

Review 47:the bathroom was really cramped. Not really enough space for 2 people.

Review 48:The breakfast was a great value. The location was super... especially if you were taking the ferry across to Saint John NB.

Review 49:Wished there were better signs to direct a driver to the hotel.

Review 50:Love the vintage feel and style of the hotel. Grounds are beautiful. Rooms are very comfortable.

Review 51:Anytime we were at the front desk the phone would ring and the staff member would politely excuse themselves and answer the phone. 2times only, 2 times interrupted by the phone..not acceptable undivided attention ...service.

Review 52:Elegance and maitenance of the ppty

Review 53:Suitcases had to be carried up about 12 steps into the hotel. No ramp to roll them up.

Review 54:Our room was nice, comfortable. Hotel itself was a lovely older building that showed its elegance. Dining room was great! They had gluten free options on their menu.

Review 55:The bed in our room was very comfortable. However, the room was very small and the tiny bathroom was in dire need of updating.

Review 56:Location, views, comfortable bed, lovely reception/lobby area

Review 57:The grounds are beautiful. Buildings well maintained. Great full breakfast included. All in all - a great and gracious hotel. A rare find these days. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Review 58:The seniors golf tour was taking place while we were there, so we were unable to golf, which was one of the main reasons we stayed there. I feel that should have been disclosed at the time of booking.

Review 59:The grounds are amazing and staff very friendly and helpful!

Review 60:Room a little cramped. Quality of food in restaurant (at dinner) was poor. Although we booked 4 months in advance, we were not told that the golf course would be closed to residents for 3 days out of our 6 day stay - although one of the managers admitted that she knew this at the time of our booking. As a result, we had to drive about 35 miles each day to other courses.

Review 61:Good breakfasts.

Review 69:Little noisy at night.

Review 70:Location and views are great. Old hotel with old charm. Very convenient to the ferry to St. John.
