Reviews for Hotel Roosendaelhof

Review 1:Would be nice to have hair conditioner provided.

Review 2:Very friendly owner. Lovely former home converted to a hotel with lots of charm and everything well done including a very nice breakfast. Ten minute walk from the train station.

Review 3:Dirty towel in the bathroom (got directly a fresh one)

Review 4:The hotel building it self (16th century) Bathroom The breakfast was good, even gluten free provided Walking distance from town centre

Review 5:My engineers reported that the hotel was one of the best. They were amazed with their room opening onto the balcony, the staff were lovely and the hotel as a whole was extremely pleasant. Highly recommended. Thank you to all the staff.

Review 6:Issues with water drain by the time of my stay. Water almost flodded my bathroom. But was solved within cuouple hrs.

Review 7:Friendly and helpful stuff, great breakfast choices, downtown location, nice garden, cozy place.

Review 8:Nothing

Review 9:Characterful building with pleasant rooms, good facilities and a nice garden. On site parking and convenient for the town centre. Good breakfast.

Review 10:The hotel and rooms are quit tired and in need of TLC. Our bathroom was unfinished and it was difficult to regulate the temperature of the water. The ditch around the property is in need of cleaning as the smell of stagnant water was very present. Bring the hotel back into the state it was about four years ago please.

Review 11:The hotel is well located a short stroll from the city centre, in a relatively quiet area. The hotel is set in nice grounds. . The breakfast was very nice and varied. The staff are very friendly and caring.

Review 12:There was one light that had two arms, one for the main room and one for the bathroom

Review 13:Nice old building that's been tastefully converted to a hotel. Friendly and helpful staff

Review 14:The streets sourunding the hotel had new one way directions so the navigationsystem had troubels finding the way (not a fault of the hotel)

Review 15:A charming hotel. The original building is from 1642 (I think they said). Nice "old" feeling with winding stairs and wood works in the ceilings.

Review 16:We stayed in room 15 (150 per night). *The colour of the wall in the room was terribly depressing (brown). *Window repair on the outside not finished off for quite some time now. *The owners have tried to put some antique furniture in the room, but the bed is Ikea, it seems they didnt quite get the idea. *The hotel advertises a bar facility, however the bar is a fridge in a room filled with private belongings, where one is expected to mark what you take on a piece of paper. * lounge is two tables/chairs adjoining the open reception *In the breakfast room, which is a nice room with potential, the room has a lot of toys. *The bathroom is very nice and spacious, however when using the toilet one is faced with a huge mirror (last thing you want is a full picture of oneself on the toilet). * fridge has awful decoration on it. *curtains were not fitting and far too long. With a few finishing touches could be a lovely place.

Review 17:The hotel has a lot of potential, and had beautiful features. Friendly welcome. Nice spacious bedroom/bathroom.

Review 18:Food, bed, silence....hospitality... :)

Review 33:Everything - warm welcome in a beautiful building

Review 34:The only thing that disappointed me was the scent of the room especially when we arrived. I had to spray the room first but I put it down to the fact that it is an old building.

Review 35:I like the area, the surroundings, staff friendliness, the room space and choice of breakfast. we enjoyed the park. I would like to thank Kathleen for the warm welcome and hospitality.

Review 36:wi-fi in our room was practically inexistant

Review 37:very friendly and helpful staff; fantastic room with a nice terrace towards the canal and parc behind; great breakfast

Review 38:Breakfast is served until 10 am but it is a bad idea to have it after 9 am if you wish to have a warm and divers breakfast. If you are a young couple or with young siblings, you might want to pass your way as this hotel is clearly for more mature (and richer) people.

Review 39:Very pretty room, large and cozy.

Review 40:Those who travel with heavy luggage or are disabled may have problems in using the narrow-step wooden stairs.

Review 41:If you expect to stay in a minimal design modern hotel, this is not the right place for you. You will love it if you like old style well decorated rooms which combine oldness with comfort, quiteness, big rooms. Breakfast is good - satisfying variety and quality if you consider that is just a 15-room hotel - and personnel is very friendly and helpful. Good free internet connection. Nature around the hotel is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Review 42:Ceiling fitting in the bedroom was loose from the ceiling and five bulbs weren't working. No maid service on Sunday - whether we were forgotten or they just don't do Sundays - I don't know.

Review 43:Quirky Belle Epoque Residence, on it's way to being "Shabby chic"! Large Bathroom. Quiet room overlloking gardens. Stocked mini bar + tea & coffee making facilities

Review 44:I arrived late in the evening yet was greeted extremely warmly and made to feel very welcome. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, room was very comfortable. I wish I could have stayed longer. The hotel was within walking distance of the railway station, yet the building had lovely character, and the area was quiet at night.

Review 45:Everything worked fine with helpful and friendly service

Review 46:Centrally placed hotel in town with easy parking and a wonderful garden. The hotel is old with a lot of athmosphere and still partly modern equiped room.

Review 47:My room was #42 downstairs in the coach house and it had a bit of a musty smell.

Review 48:The hotel is beautiful and charming. Lovely to stay at a renovated old building. The breakfast buffet was very nice and fresh. The grounds areound the property were lovely for short walks, and the children enjoyed seeing the ducks, geese, chickens and bunnys.
