Reviews for Hotel Jumari

Review 1:breakfast dinning area is a little small;shower curtain is 5 inches short, not only this hotel, almost all the hotel and hostel in Bolivia and Peru has this issue, always get the bath room floor very wet from the bottom of the curtain

Review 2:good location, nice staff, very helpful, nice breakfast; nice hot water in shower

Review 3:No lift in the hotel. It is very tough to carry your bags to climb four floors on 3,800m. They charged very high on a busy day in the town.

Review 4:Good location in the town. Very nice staff. Good breakfast.

Review 5:It would be better if the light in the room were slightly brighter.

Review 6:English speaking staff at reception was very helpful. She provided local information we needed and arranged a taxi to the airport. Clean room and good security level and location.

Review 7:The breakfast in hotel Jumari is fantastic, as good as you can get in a small town like Uyuni. The owner is super friendly and easy to communicate. The staffs are very friendly and flexible to acommodate our request.

Review 8:The breakfest could be better: there was no real coffee (only this "nescafe" kind). And also no butter, but only margarine. But it seems a common practice in Bolívia.

Review 9:The room was pretty clean. The staff was very helpfull and nice. The location is good, but everything is close in Uyuni. It is a nice stay, specially compared to the available hotels in the city.

Review 10:Too expensive! There are many cheaper options but we just did not have time to shop & go around, we booked it online and it was not much other choices online! Water came out from the shower and flooded the bathroom, the drain was obviously not working!

Review 11:Location, breakfast

Review 12:Awesome staff and awesome place. If you are looking for value hotel this is the place. Hot water works fine, Big TV Clean Room. If you are gonna pay $15 for one night at other hostels with your friend, stay here because it is much better to stay here even though you pay a little more.

Review 13:We had to walk upstairs. Didnt see the elevator. Normally that s not a problem but at 3400m above sea level you will feel your heart pumping like crazy!

Review 14:Nice and clean room with heater and hot shower.

Review 15:Fairly soulless hotel in town. Soundproofing wasn't great. Breakfast buffet only ran for one hour so all guests were there at once. As a result everything kept running out.

Review 16:Good hot shower. Receptionist spoke good English. Wifi was fine.

Review 17:Excellent staff at Hotel Jamari. I got a bad case of food poisoning froma nearby restaurant. The girl at the front desk gave me directions tothe local clinic and then translated my prescription from Spanish toEnglish so I knew which pills to take and when. She was really helpfuland I appreciated it.

Review 18:Nothing

Review 19:Good location for people arriving from bus station and close to main street, they let us check in early when our bus arrived which was very appreciated

Review 20:The rooms are a little outdated - mostly styled like from the 70s. The shower curtrain didn't go all the way to the floor which resulted in water all over the bathroom. I could also hear everyone on my floor coming and going. Breakfast was a little lackluster- only included breads and cereals from 8-9am.

Review 21:The hotel is located only a few blocks from the main square. The rooms are clean and include plenty of blankets to keep you warm.

Review 22:It's very simple place and anywhere else then in Uyuni it probably wouldn't get more then 6.5 points. But in Uyuni this is as good as it gets.

Review 23:Hot shower Heater in the room Hairdryer available upon request

Review 24:Lobby was very cold as we had to hang out there after checking out and wait for a night train.

Review 25:Hostess spoke great English and went out of her way to help. Rooms were adequately heated by portable radiators.

Review 26:Nothing bad. The walls seemed a bit thin. Our room was over the kitchen, so heard noise probably from there.

Review 27:It was a very nice hotel. Nothing is far from anything in Uyuni, so the location was good. The breakfast was filling. We were perfectly comfortable. Being from the USA, we thought we were going to miss a presidential candidate debate, but the nice, large TV in the room carried CNN in English, so we were able to watch. We were impressed that we could get anything in Uyuni, which is out in the middle of nowhere!

Review 28:One of the staff was rude. We couldn't get breakfast (when we told we had to leave at 5:50, the staff told me they couldn't give us breakfast because it is too early. But on that morning when we went down to leave, there were many other guests already sitting having breakfast. I thought it was not fare.)

Review 29:Location. Heater in the room They gave us a thermo pot of hot water when asked.

Review 30:The rooms had heaters, hot water, and cozy warm blankets on the beds. Our stay was super comfortable, the staff were great, Jessica at front desk spoke great English and was very helpful and friendly!

Review 31:Wifi can get very spotty, especially during peak hours.

Review 32:Great location right in the middle of the small town. About 300m from train station and/or bus station. Most of the tour agencies are very nearby, especially red planet. Breakfast is between 8am to 9am but pretty sufficient for everybody. Hot water anytime which is a huge plus.

Review 33:A little pricey for the facilities, but Uyuni is expensive.

Review 34:Comfortable stay, soft and warm beds. They turned on the heaters in the evening before we returned to our room. Good hot shower, clean room and bathroom.

Review 35:Nothing special.

Review 36:The location was very convenient. It is located between the bus terminal and the tourist offices. The receptionist was very kind and her english skill was food. They provided a heater which was very helpful at night.

Review 37:My friend and I loved this place. Heating and hot shower, not every place in Uyuni offers it. The room were clean and "modern". It's nicer in the inside.

Review 38:it is basic.. but it is expected.

Review 39:Nothing fancy in this little town. This hotel is basic, not pretty but with a good bed and hot shower for you to rest before or after the Uyuni salt plain journey. Nice breakfast though! They are kind enough to fried 2 eggs for me!

Review 40:Could get noisy, people coming and going on tile stairway.

Review 41:Young English speaking lady at reception was very nice. Breakfast was much better than I expected... Eggs, pancakes, very good. Wifi worked very well too. The room was warm enough and had hot water for shower instantly, even tho I was warned it was slow

Review 42:The main building of the hotel is not faced to the street. The entrance is a small door of a house connecting to the hotel building. The dining room don’t have any happy atmosphere, a little dark with cool fluorescent lights (recommended to use warm lamps with 2,700 degrees K), some local decoration but not efficient. Poor buffet breakfast. This may be the same as other hotels in Uyuni, maybe because of habit of local people and hard logistics of remote village.

Review 43:Hotel staffs are kind, probably they are family members. A reception lady stepped up to the 2nd floor with our suitcases.

Review 44:Friendly helpful English-speaking staff, always cleaning everything:-) Great breakfast with the widest choice we've seen in Bolivia. Nice modern looking rooms.

Review 45:Some rooms do not have direct daylight but that seems usual in Bolivia.

Review 46:The staff was very flexible and helpfull. Ask for Englishspeaking Jessica. Lunch buffet with fruit!

Review 47:We paid when we arrived. But the staff accused us of not paying the next day. Had to speak to the manager to confirm our payment as we are rushing out to start our tour. Not great way to treat customers.

Review 48:The first view ob the hotel was not nice, but the entrance is in a backyard! Huge advantage: Not everybody can enter into this Place!

Review 49:It was not so easy to find a good hotel for a night in uyuni, but we can definetely recommend this Hotel. It has recently been renovated, wifi and hot water was available.

Review 50:Staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Uyuni is only a small town and everything was within easy walking distance of this hotel. Don't be put off by the facade of the hotel. It is way better than it looks from the street.

Review 51:Shower curtain too short. Heater too bright. Had to turn it off when trying to sleep. Inconvenient breakfast time.

Review 52:Staffs are very friendly. Hot water is hot, Close to bus station.

Review 53:No elevator, however the staff helped us bring the luggage up to the second floor.

Review 54:Great hot showers, heating in room all through the night. Many choices at breakfast, helpful staff.

Review 55:Very good breakfast buffet, good beds, good shower, hot water, nicely decorated rooms. And there is an electric heater, if needed. Perfect room for that price!

Review 56:there is no elevator, we have to carry our luggage upstairs. no windows in the room, but it will be warm at night.

Review 57:friendly staff, hot shower, comfortable beds

Review 58:Breakfast was really nothing wow but decent for Uyuni standards i suppose. Indeed it is 8-9am only.

Review 59:Very nice reception staff. Dont be confused that the sign at the foor says JU-MA-RI and looks nothing like on pics; it does look like that after you have walked through the front building. Our room was warm and shower hot! Who cares about short shower curtain, nobody goes to Uyuni for a weeks stay anyways.

Review 60:The breakfast was basic, the room was not serviced and none of the rooms have windows

Review 61:Stayed there for two nights as the national Referendum was on so could only start our tour on the Monday

Review 62:The common rooms were very cold. The staff was wearing jackets and blankets.

Review 63:The beds were amazing and there was a small heater. Very friendly staff and good location in Uyuni.

Review 64:We were freezing at night despite the plug in heater. The sheets were old and tired. Bit dirty. No lift!

Review 65:The lady at reception was so friendly and spoke amazing English. She was very helpful to is during our stay. Breakfast was pretty good.

Review 66:Breakfast is only from 8:00 to 9:00.

Review 67:Comfortable bed, good hot shower, heater in the room, clean and friendly staff. A good place to relax after the Salt Flats tour. They even have cable TV in the room with lots of channels (most in Spanish).

Review 68:This was probably the best hotel we stayed at in Bolivia - very nice and clean, radiators! Which you will need after the Salar de Uyuni :) Staff also speaks good English, also a plus if you dont speak so much Spanish.

Review 69:The shower curtains are not long enough to prevent water from splashing out of the bathing area.

Review 70:Great verity at breakfast and comfortable beds. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 71:Someone upstairs played loud music until 5.30am, not sure if this was a part of the hotel or not.

Review 72:The room was spacious and comfortable, the location was great being only 5 minute walk to restaurants in the main boulevard. The staff were friendly and assisted us in booking our airport taxi for 6am which all went to plan. Definitely value for money.

Review 73:nothing

Review 74:The breakfast here is super, egg, cheese, ham, pancakes, fruits, etc. The location is great like 2 minutes walking to the main square. The bed is comfy. The room is clean and very good.

Review 75:Breakfast was disappointing, only 1 hour slot and lacking in any interesting food.

Review 76:Location good - very near the main centre...buy Uyuni is a very small town!

Review 77:Hours for the breakfast are not very convinient 8am-9am.

Review 78:Very good hotel in Uyuni. Perfect place to relax and refresh after Salt Flats trip. Heater in the room, hot water available. Dryer available from the reception.

Review 79:Great location and simple hotel will everything you need. Only a start or end point for the salt flats so does the job. Breakfast is good and staff looked after us with early checkout and breakfast provided so was very happy would recommend!

Review 80:Only portable heaters (difficult to heat room enough), very cold bathrooms

Review 81:Nice staff (wonderful girl at front desk), pretty good breakfast, dependable WiFi, hot showers

Review 82:The wifi in the communual area was intermittent the day I was there which made it difficult to confirm bookings etc. I had to go up to my room which had good wifi.

Review 83:Had a few issues with the electric, so they moved me to a (more expensive) room. Really friendly and helpful. Left a great impression. Wifi in room was great. Was warm and loads of blankets on bed.

Review 84:They had no black tea for breakfast!!!! But otherwise provided hot toast when we asked

Review 85:They were so helpful with taking bags upstairs hard for us at altitude and providing anything we asked for.

Review 86:Nice hotel, nice people, very helpful, provided us with breakfast super early in the morning. Showers are hot and wifi is good. You can get a hair dryer at the reception.

Review 87:The heater didnt really heat very well and breakfast was only served for an hour.

Review 88:The hotel was really basic and good for what Uyuni standards are. Comfy rooms, good breakfast, good wifi, friendly staff.

Review 89:*The staff werw unresponsive to emails about directions. Other locals we asked when we arrived at the train station at 2 am did not know where the hotel was.we had a lot of trouble finding it. *When we arrived the room was extremely cold and had a propane tank with a wire attacgment on the top for a heater. We were told not to sleep with it on...the next day I found out other floors had electric heaters that could be left on overnight. But these hesters avtually overwhelned the electric system. Also, you had to ask for toilet paper...and apparently there were hair dryers avaialble behind the desk, too. I really enjoyed our stay, but it's hard to igore the fact that the room was ice cold even with provided heating turned on full blastand that the hotel has offered such dangerous and bulky options as propane tanks in enclosed spaces as a heating source.

Review 90:It was very clean and the shower was hot. The staff did what they could to help us with our personal needs.

Review 91:The room was not very comfortable regarding the price. There was no window to the outside.

Review 92:Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Good location. Great hot shower. Comfy bed. I didn't have to pay as there was no heating due to a power cut.

Review 93:Everything good, except need to lower shower curtain so water doesn't get out onto bathroom floor.

Review 94:The bed is so comfortable, esp after overnight bus from La Paz

Review 95:Hotel located central in Uyuni. Friendly, helpfull staff, comfortable beds, hot shower, quiet area, decent breakfast buffet, wifi OK. Ideal to rest after (or before) a tour on the Salar de Uyuni

Review 96:Strong WiFi, buffet breakfast (eggs, toast, muesli, cereal, yoghurt, pancakes, coffee, tea, juice, fruit, biscuits) big comfy beds with fluffy duvets, lots of extra blankets and a heater. Large near new bathrooms. Fantastic staff, really helpful and they speak english. Two blocks from the bus terminal, an easy walk.

Review 97:Nothing really. Could have used some power on the first night, but it wasn't their fault.

Review 98:During our first night we had no power but owners and staff did their very best to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and even took my phone into their home to charge it so I could take photos of the Salar region.

Review 99:Wifi in the room was poor but worked well at reception.

Review 100:Our room had the heater on and was nice and warm when we arrived which was great as the temperature at night was pretty cold. Breakfast was easily the best we have had on our travels in south america - hot pancakes, crepes, scrambled eggs, fruit, toast, cereal - wow. Jessica at the front desk was a gem and very helpful with all our questions. There's no cheap accommodation options in uyuni but this place is great value for the price!

Review 101:Wi-fi connection is poor although the guy said that it's mostly iphones which have a problem. Regardless, this isn't unique to this place, but more a problem in Bolivia in general.

Review 102:We stayed there the night before a 3 day tour of the salt flats, and they had warm showers, heaters to keep us warm. It's set back a bit from the street so very quiet. Breakfast was great too, and they even cooked us some scrambled eggs. When we came back from the trip, my girlfriend was having issues with altitude sickness, and they kindly let us rest there, gave us some coca mate while awaiting our ride back to the airport.

Review 103:enterance was not easy to access.

Review 104:front desk all people was so~~~good... just i can say one word 'perfact' thank you mama neverever forgetable 정말 최고의 고객 서비스를 위해서 노력해 주었어요. 고마워요.....마마

Review 105:Water in bathroom was cold and in spite of the heater in the room there was a bit cold.

Review 106:Location is good, personnel help you with any question. Certain staff speak English. Breakfast is quite good.

Review 107:Nothing!

Review 108:The staff are quite friendly and the location is great. The staff can speak English very well, and they've introduced lots of valuable information to me and helped me to book the sightseeing tour in Uyuni.

Review 109:The room rate is kind of expensive. Anyway, there is not much choices in Uyuni. Any hotel that with facilities which meets basic level (e.g. with hot water for shower, clean room) is already above average in this area. You just cannot expect too much.

Review 110:The staff are very helpful and cheerful. Their breakfast time is 7am-9am, but in our last date of stay, they arranged our breakfast at 6am since we needed to leave at 7am for catching a flight. I did not expect that their service is so good in such a small hotel in Uyuni.

Review 111:Wifi need to inprove in room, we need stand closed to the door to catch the wifi signal

Review 112:Very nice & helpful staff, location also can easily accessible from anywhere. We think it should be a very good choice to stay there in Uyuni.

Review 113:During my long trip, my cash was running out and I cannot use traveler's check in Uyuni. The host is very kindly to receive my payment by traveler's check. And she gave me some money to me to take taxi to airport.

Review 114:Hotel master gave warm welcome during my stay. Facility is also good inclduing hot water for shower, fast wifi! I didn't expect this level of service in Uyuni:) Hope to stay again when I go to Uyuni again.

Review 115:The only thing not running well is a showers. You need to manage it for a while of only-hot or only-cold water, otherwise everything was great!

Review 116:We stayed at this hotel before and after our three-day Salar de Uyuni tour. This hotel is new and very(!!) clean. Good breakfast. New was everything in the room: furniture, linen, towels, closets, paint on walls and interior lamps. Administrator señor Leborio was charming and extremely helpful!! He twice organized early breakfast for us. We saw how well he took care of japanese travelers who felt bad because of altitude. Those who once traveled in Bolivia will always treasure sanitary and cleanness conditions this hotel has. This hotel stands out by being clean and has hospitable owners. This is a very nice place with charming people running this place. While touring in Salar we left our suitcases at the hotel, everything was well-guarded.

Review 117:One night for more then 900Bs, the second for 620Bs. It really depends when u are booking. There were just two days between

Review 118:Second time we stayed @ Jumani hotel. Second time the Internet was even worst. Connection possible but only a weak data transmission. The shower - well there came a little bit . Hot , very hot. When u add to these few hot drops of water some cold water the temperature changed immediately. Anyhow, the beds were okay, fresh towels , enough space , TV with engl. CNN. The location is great.

Review 119:Rooms were a bit noisy; better soundproofing

Review 120:Extremely friendly and helpful owners with decent English - went out of their way to assist and help with everything. Reasonably fast wifi and great location only a few blocks from the center. Clean hotel

Review 121:Lack of a fan or AC makes the room feel musty. The room felt dusty.

Review 122:Staff were excellent and very friendly. Almost felt like a home. The hotel is hidden from the main road which makes it really quiet. We felt removed from the world. This was great compared to the noise you get at the hotels near the train station.

Review 123:Maybe breakfast could have had a wider range.

Review 124:Very accommodating and caring staff, when they never saw me for one day they came to my room to check I was ok.

Review 125:Hot breakfast item like eggs would be nice.

Review 126:Owners were extremely friendly and eager to please. Provided good advice on transportation options. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was HOT, although they asked you to limit your time to 3 minutes a shower to save water. Wifi, oddly, was fastest I've had in Bolivia(Not fast by western standards but 3x faster than hotel and restaurants in La Paz), For the money I was extremely happy with the place. Lots of breakfast options but all were breads, cakes, empanadas etc. Something hot would have been nice. Food was well laid out. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Review 127:Needs a bit of tlc- wires hanging out in Bathroom etc.

Review 128:Good location, buffet breakfast which was one of the better ones I had in Bolivia, lovely fluffy white towels, lots of power sockets to charge electrics before salt flats tour. Would stay again.

Review 129:We don't have many choices in Uyuni. But, It was not so good regarding the money. The staff was kind, but the room and beds were not good. I think it's just a 2 star hotel.^^

Review 130:Breakfast-area is not so cosy..

Review 131:Personal and owners were very helpful! Roms were very clean. We appreciate Laundry service with absolut reasonable Price . To Center only 2 Minutes Courtyard with table

Review 132:Breakfast was a disgrace for the price. Most of the food was stale. The selection was stale bread, stale cake and a stale thing that looked like a pasty but wasn't. We were eventually offered scrambled egg - it was literally one egg scrambled and tasteless. This Hotel has a lot to learn.

Review 133:Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. The manager/owner is as helpful as he can be with his limited knowledge of English.
