The family-owned 5-star Hotel Schweizerhof is located right in the Old Town of Lucerne, next to the lake. It features a spa area and elegant rooms with antique furniture.

All rooms were renovated in 2013 or 2014 and are individually furnished according to a specific person, such as a musician, writer or actor, who has stayed at the hotel. They offer views of the lake and the mountains, or of the courtyards in Lucerne’s Old Town. All rooms feature individually adjustable air conditioning and heating, a coffee and tea maker, and satellite TV with many international channels.

Review 9：We stayed at this hotel with my wife in this September for two nights. On arrival our room was upgraded to superior room in the east wing on the fifth floor. The hotel's location and the views were superb. The staff is polite and friendly, special thanks to Ivica Marinovic and Vinu Gordana. Breakfast is excellent (for the continental), but for a fee.

Our main problem was that the hotel clearly relies upon corporate business and we felt that as private customers, we were somewhat "second in the queue" so to speak.

Review 23：Luxury hotel prices but not much luxury. For the money you pay here I think you can do better. We stayed at the Bellevue in Bern the week before, which was better value. We found the breakfast room a bit depressing due to dim lighting.

Competing with the general public for seats in the bar area was problematic because of the activities of the hotel such that we chose to go elsewhere. Review 41：i booked junior suite for this trip and it was really beyond my imagination the room is located in the corner and it was big with three terraces and with the views from mt.pilatus and mt.rigis and lake luzern. I can see the mountains from every ancle of my room. And there was enough space for my son to play around in the room. We love it and definitely will come back again. PS.The room was designed by Bob Geldof , the famous singer and song writers.

Review 50：Elegant, "old world flair" throughtout the hotel.... with great location within easy walk to the Old Town. ( A bit pricey, but what lovely hotel in Switzerland isn't?) For our special occasion we were surprizingly upgraded to a suite....quite modern, yet full of character....with its beautiful view of lake and mountains beyond, ....we were all comfy and cozy inside... while snow fell most of the days while there. We enjoyed the private sauna hours we had.too...spectacularly clean and well laid out. Service throughout was also 5- star! Breakfast buffet was excellent...lots of variety....fresh orange juice...and some of the best pancakes I have ever eaten!

Review 51：Unfortunately couldn't do anything about the air conditioning unit which, though off, blew air all night into the room, across the bed. Very dry and very warm. So in spite of the lovely room and good mattress we had a very unpleasant night! ( And at minus 10 it was far too cold to open the window) I wonder, too, if it isn't too much to expect some cotton wool in the bathroom!? I had thought this was a standard in quality hotels.
