Reviews for H Boutique Hotel

Review 1:Cleanliness not the best, food was left in the fridge by previous guest, towels were stained with makeup, piles of dust in places they should not be!

Review 2:Duty Manager very informative and friendly, great location, affordable!

Review 3:No facilities outside of apartment. No pool, clubhouse or other entertainment

Review 4:Good location, new accommodation with everything you need inside the apartment

Review 5:It was hot the weekend we went (mid December) and the hotel does not have a pool. Also unable to change settings on air conditioner.

Review 6:It has a nice relaxed atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners.

Review 7:Overpriced for the limited facilities. No cafe and no ability to prepare meals in apartment as only microwave and bar fridge. Only one bathroom in 2 bedroom apartment yet charging same price as nearby establishments offering much more.

Review 8:Nice location with outlook overlooking fields with Roos, complimentary cheese plate and bottle of wine. Friendly owners

Review 9:It is understood the pricing was increased to deal with the influx of people for the Elton John Concert, however the blatant price gouging for what was stated as the new standard of eco-friendly accommodation was outrageous. As for the new standard of eco friendly accommodation, - pfttt. How this hotel can claim this beggars belief. A few solar panels and a water tank does not make it eco-friendly.

Review 10:Nothing of note.

Review 11:Everything. Loved the place very quite, its a home away from home type of environment. Greatly appreciated the bottle of wine and mixed cheeses and biscuits in the fridge after a long drive.

Review 12:I just feel they need to take more care cleaning rooms. I found lolly papers in some cupboards and the floor had not been vacuumed well - there was residue from previous guests.

Review 13:The location is nice and quiet and peaceful. The staff are very friendly and full of suggestions of where to go and places to visit.

Review 14:Modern property, Very spacious, excellent facilities. Loved the private balconies and modern bathroom. Also loved that this property was located minutes away from reataurants and vineyards. Can't wait to stay here again

Review 15:Unexpected welcome cheese platter with complimentary bottle of wine. Early morning visit by local peacock on patio. Quiet, private accommodation all eco friendly.

Review 16:A comfortable base for exploring the Hunter Valley. Not exactly luxury though. I liked the eco-friendly aspect but thought the accommodation overpriced for what we got. I suspect the prices were hiked because of the Fleetwood Mac concert on when we stayed. The location was ideal for events at the Hope Estate.

Review 17:when the hotel can organise a full breakfast service it will be much better. no dishwasher bedside tables dusty problem with return transport from concert despite arranging the premium... left us stranded though was not fully charged in the end. re: price - don't like the prices being hitched up so much on concert weekends always (not only this hotel)

Review 18:Large apartment living room, Location, Staff friendly and tried to be helpful, Complimentary chardonnay and cheese platter. Getting nice coffee from a cart in the mornings.

Review 19:The apartments are set out in rows of three joined together, two one bed apartments at each end of the row and a two bed in the middle. We did get the feeling of being a little too 'close' to the next door neighbours especially when sitting outside.

Review 20:The owners were very friendly. The apartment was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The outlook from the living room was lovely. The complementary cheese plate and wine was a nice touch.

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:I liked everything from the book in to book out the receptionist was absolutely brilliant and friendly the decore supurb the view excellent the quiet and cerenity to die for i thoroughly enjoyed myself and highly recomend to all cheers liz angove

Review 23:The location was great and the wild life was superb!

Review 24:This place was initially great! It's Eco! But at $1000 a night it does not rate! 4 tea bags for 2 days for 4 people. One shower mat! One bathroom. No breakfast! Room serviced on third day or pay an extra $60. No wifi! If the price was $250 a night I'd be happy but it was $1000 per night! Not worth it!

Review 25:no restaurant on site. no pool or other amenities, no Jacuzzi tubs. standards modern rooms.

Review 26:cheese and wine platter on arrival. reception friendly and helpful.

Review 27:The only thing I would say was the light switches didn't seem to work at all ..

Review 28:The view was lovely and the beds were amazingly relaxing !! The staff made us feel very welcome and super helpful !

Review 29:Nothing to cook anything. Eg no electric frypan.

Review 30:Truely loved the owner and the staff. Had an amazing night out the front watching the sunset and the little kangaroo families enjoying the dam. The fact that they were off the grid, was GREAT.

Review 31:We had a bad odour in our apartment which we believe is a once off occurrence and staff did try to assist. Air con is on a timer so goes off. Button in bedroom so at times could not access it. We didn't realise the apartments are not serviced everyday (which I have been informed is on their website) so we ran out of the basics. Staff happy to provide if you ask. Few other items can be improved but minor - shower screen has no seal so leaks when you use, toilet role holder loose. Might just be teething issues as apartments are so new.

Review 32:Friendly and welcoming staff. The location is beautiful and peaceful. Accommodation is modern and comfortable.

Review 33:Maybe a hotplate for the little more self contained among us?

Review 34:The location is awesome! Close to everything but still far enough to have peace and quiet if you want to!. Staff was very helpful in every way. One of the best hotels we have stayed in by far!

Review 35:gardens need work. paths are very slippery in the light rain. no wifi or eating facilities on site.

Review 36:staff were excellent- nothing was any trouble. excellently appointed room which was clean. great size and comfy bed

Review 37:Only negative.. It was hard to keep water from spraying out of the shower with the short shower panel, so floor got pretty wet Not a deal breaker though

Review 38:Great location. Beautiful view. Clean room with plenty of space. Will return and look forward to their restaurant/cafe opening.

Review 39:Overpriced for the experience. Kitchen with limited utensils including plates and salad bowls, however NO cooking facility at all, not even a small BBQ. No docking station to play music and the gardens were a mess and overgrown with weeds.

Review 40:Great location, no additional cost for parking and the rooms were very clean.

Review 41:Nothing I was very happy with the accommodation & location.

Review 42:The views of the Brokenback Ranges, the peace & quiet and the Kangaroos that visited.

Review 43:The bed is a bit too soft. The shower head holder is way too high so make it not user-friendly to people with shorter height. It should have an extra holder at a lower level.

Review 44:The hotel is modern, neat and tidy. Bed linen is clean. Overall, this villa is clean. Filter water is supplied which is great.

Review 45:Views were stunning! On Saturday afternoon we got home and there were kangaroos right outside our front door.. We sat with wine and cheese watching the Roos and the sunset in the peace and quiet. Was absolutely beautiful

Review 46:Would have liked some cooking facilities other than a microwave. Would like to see a bin for recycling also as it is eco friendly hotel.

Review 47:Location. Very quiet and loved the Kangaroos.

Review 48:Was disappointed with no gym facilities but you could run around the property I suppose and no pool

Review 49:Colin gave us a bottle of wine for our anniversary, what a kind gesture. Thank you so much

Review 50:So quiet and peaceful. The bed is amazingly comfortable - just what you want to truly make it a relaxing trip. Staff were friendly and showed us around as soon as we go there. Loved this place and will definitely be back!

Review 51:No places to eat within the hotel grounds. Not a huge deal as going out elsewhere to eat starts off the day anyway.

Review 52:Seeing the Kangaroos outside the hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel. Spacious and very new!

Review 53:The facility wasn't open when we arrived - understood we couldn't check in until 2pm, but there appeared to be no staff on site - very strange experience. No cafe or restaurant - with no other restaurants close by this was very disappointing to not even be able to get a cuppa or sandwich on site. Poor quality gardens with weeds ruined the lovely outdoor setting.

Review 54:Good sized rooms with nice furniture. The fireplace was lovely and the shower good size. It was also very quiet. Very nice welcome (when they finally opened!) and we were escorted to our cabin and given a tour of the rooms.

Review 55:It's Eco friendly, new, modern and the view is lovely. We loved the gas fireplace and our friendly furry visitors (kangaroos) who visited us morning and evening.

Review 56:Sadly the hotel was rather isolated. You couldn't really do self catering because there was no hob or oven. The hotel has no restaurant at this time.

Review 57:Nice newly built apartments. Two bedroom apartment was great with kids. The beds were fabulous. In the evenings there are lots of kangaroos for the children to watch.

Review 58:Kitchen doesn't have cooking facilities (no cooktop, only a microwave). We were under the impression all rooms had a bath but only half do. Ours didn't, so make sure you check.

Review 59:The rooms are new, clean and a good size. Great outlook over the fields (and kangaroos). Fire place made the place super warm!

Review 60:The apartments are really well set out, and in a beautiful location. The eco friendly facilities are excellent, and the service was friendly and personal.

Review 61:We stayed for 2 nights, expected the beds to be made after the first night, but they were not. Also the night light outside was constantly on, attracting the bugs, and we could not switch it off.

Review 62:Clean facilities, comfortable beds, good location.

Review 63:Kitchen needed a stove top or an electric fry pan. Brought food to cook for breakfast but nothing to cook it with.

Review 64:Good location, clean, comfy, nice to have a fire place.

Review 65:The bed is a bit hard for us, woke up a few times at night.

Review 66:Cosy and comtemporary cabin, and nice firefly place. Quite night and and waking up in the morning with many cute kangaroos around the cabin. Fresh air, friendly staff

Review 67:Would have liked some cooking facilities like electric frypan...only had microwave and toaster.the bed was a little soft as well.

Review 68:Loved the location and the new modern units. Really helpful lovely staff.

Review 69:Drinking water was brown and tasted funny because it's an eco friendly place. Rainwater? Bathroom was not cleaned properly. Only 1 bathroom/toilet. No cafe/restaurant on site but up the hill walking distance to Bimbadgen.

Review 70:John was very helpful and friendy, accommodating when we asked if they could change the King beds to twin beds. Great location, especially if going to a concert at Bimbadgen. Nice to walk around.

Review 71:First of all the toilet was dirty with wee on the floor. Hotel managercleaned it up right away explaining it was a toilet leak. It definitelywasnt. Also for a hotel that does not offer breakfast and has a kitchenwhere is the stove ??? I could not enjoy an espresso with a hotbreakfast . I would be happy to buy breakfast but they dont even offerthat. I had to leave early to drive the kids to McDonald'S.

Review 72:The fireplace is great in winter and of course the kangaroos at yourdoor.its actually a really nice plus if it would just improve itsamenities.

Review 73:after being on the road for over a week, I was a little disappointed not to have washing facilities

Review 74:The friendly greeting and been taken to the unit to explain facilities.

Review 75:nothing

Review 76:Rooms great size, TV excellent for watching footy and terrace was great for a wine and cheese family afternoon. Gas heater was fantastic with the room warm allnight.

Review 77:I would have liked the apartment to have had wifi, laundry facilities and a hob. But none of these were advertised so we weren't disappointed!

Review 78:The apartment is set in substantial grounds which looked across to the mountains beyond. In the early morning a mob of kangaroos grazed right outside our patio doors. The views were spectacular.

Review 79:We were greeted by friendly staff at reception who took us through the place and explained everything in detail. The villa was very clean and spacious for a group of 4. The view was magnificent.

Review 80:The lounge wasn't very comfortable & there was only green tea tea bags instead of English breakfast.

Review 81:Great location, staff were so friendly & very helpful. The accomodation was modern & fresh, Beds & pillows were very comfortable.

Review 82:Great location, friendly staff and very clean. It's very new, about 12 months old and as such, very modern and fresh. Had a fireplace so we could have a glass of wine with the fantastic view outside - even had a couple kangaroos show up. Our first time at H Boutique and it will definitely become the place we stay when at the Hunter Valley. Best place by far we've stayed at, at this price range.

Review 83:The rooms were fantastic, very clean and the bed was so comfortable. Waking up to see the kangaroos was amazing! The gas fire made the stay very cozy. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 84:Multiple calls without explanation until the day before about possible cancellation of booking. Hundreds of dead bugs inside the house and a dirty coloured drip inside fridge on arrival

Review 85:Setting, view out to paddock, large bathroom, very comfy bedd and easy to use gas fireplace

Review 86:Only microwave available. No frypan or cooktop to cater for yourselves. Luckily we had ready other reviews and we came prepared - so had a great weekend.

Review 87:Location and facilities - could accommodate 6 single people with ease. Breakfast and dinner facilities are being completed which should add to the already excellent facilities. Having kangaroos in the morning and great views. Also could provided a taxi service to Harrigans and back at a reasonable price.

Review 88:The double bed was 2 single beds pushed together in our room. Alright for people who like to sleep on opposite sides of the bed but not really if you want to cosy up!

Review 89:Hotel manager was great! So friendly and helpful. No one was checking into the room after we were checking out so we even got late checkout (2pm)- almost unheard of at the big chain hotels. The fireplace was lovely and warmed the place up so well. Staying anywhere in the hunter valley seems to be quite expensive but this felt like a really good value deal.

Review 90:For a self contained unit I would expect a few basic cooking facilities eg. a frying pan and some utensils to whip up a quick omelette or meal

Review 91:The room was very comfortable and clean. Loved the fire

Review 92:The self catering facilities were poor - few utensils and crockery and no microwave dishes as stated in one of the internet sites.

Review 93:The gas fire was amazing. Loved to see the wallabies in the morning and evening from patio. Very spacious.

Review 94:If I had to be picky, not enough coat hangers, but the addition of an iron was great.

Review 95:Comfortable amenities, generous living/dingin room and loved the gas fireplace! Spectacular sunrises and sunsets too!! Will definitely return.

Review 96:The location was perfect nestled amonst the vineyards with a fantastic view from our room with a nice fireplace. The staff could not do enough for us and are to be commended.

Review 97:Expensive for what it is. Would expect to pay that for a luxury hotel.

Review 98:Accommodating staff, spacious, clean and comfortable rooms and living space, nicely decorated and modern

Review 99:The staff were lovely, the room was spacious and very cosy. The heater was amazing and the Kangaroos that come straight to your door really added to the hunter valley experience.

Review 100:Hand-rails on external stairs unfinished resulting in me taking away a handful of splinters. Quality and quantity of tea, coffee and sugar poor.

Review 101:Comfortable, clean,, superb bed.

Review 102:Great welcome by staff, stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and found the romm very well appointed and comfortable. Location is fantastic especially for attending concerts.

Review 103:The security light right outside the bedroom window/door. It kept us awake all night - and our baby. It felt like early morning light, all night

Review 104:Sitting outside at the table and chairs watching the kangaroos and sunset

Review 105:it was quite expensive, $500 per night. I think that is a bit excessive even for Easter/School Holidays.

Review 106:It has everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Review 107:No facilities for breakfast or any food, no service of accomodation , only every three days (optional additional cost), lack of working heating, button to press for equipment to work( supposed to be eco) but it is inconvenient, minmum staff.

Review 108:The convenience to Bimbadgen Estate and the Hope Estate venue.

Review 109:no servicing of room-stayed 2 nights and no bed made or amenities topped up also no decent coffee or plunger etc and no sparkling wine glasses :-(

Review 110:location and seeing kangaroos

Review 111:We stayed for the Billy Idol Concert last weekend. Ease to get to the venue and the really nice way the accommodation was laid out I am going to be staying there on my trips to Hunter Valley from now on.

Review 112:No complaints.

Review 113:I loved the easy going staff and the lovely look out from the balcony. It was a perfect place to kick back and relax with some cheese and wine after a day out wine tasting in the hunter.

Review 114:Very friendly staff. We rocked up a little early with a three year old so they let us in without any extra charges. Very clean and beautiful views too. My son enjoyed watching the wallabies in the morning.

Review 115:Security light had undercover light on all night, only a little thing that was masked out by good blackout curtains

Review 116:Friendly staff very accommodating, great location, great layout of room, ample space. Great verandah with table and chairs to enjoy the outlook.

Review 117:Unable to sit in lounge area without blinds down as we could be seen by everyone passing. Very basic furnishings and no screen door on bedroom door so unable to open at night. Very ordinary

Review 118:I loved everything about this hotel. The location is just perfect! The rooms are very clean and comfy . They have a beautiful fire place that I cant wait to come back and use in winter.

Review 119:Would be perfect if there was a swimming pool and somewhere to get food and coffee

Review 120:accommodation was extremely comfortable. good kitchen and facilities. bed very comfortable. plenty of room.staff very helpful. great if you are looking for accommodation close to music events

Review 121:The water was quite brown and even though a water filter was provided for drinking, it wasn't very pleasant to have to shower in it. Also I would have liked a coffee machine.

Review 122:The beds were comfortable and the location was very close for concert goers. It was very clean and everything was quite new. I thought the cheese platter and two bottles of wine on arrival were a very nice touch.

Review 123:We should have stayed longer! If the gardening is done better, this place would have been perfect! In any case, it's a small issue.

Review 124:Well located, next to a vineyard that also operates a very nice restaurant. Peaceful, quiet, breakfast with a family of Kangaroos. We really enjoyed our time there.

Review 125:That we couldn't stay longer

Review 126:Excellent value for money. Very helpful gentleman/owner who showed us to our room personally and told us about the place. Excellent that they are self sufficient re power and water.

Review 127:Nothing to hang or store clothes in (warderobe without fitting or hangers) Open bins= flies etc. Pedal bins would be better.

Review 128:Comfortable bed and bedding New, clean

Review 129:Air-conditioning doesn't go below 24 degrees, which was hugely inadequate to cool the rooms on the hot days we were there. Air con was in the lounge and doesn't flow through to the bedroom, so we spent two uncomfortably hot sleepless nights. The water was turned off in the middle of the night, and didn't come back on until early morning - we got home late from a wedding and weren't able to wash or have a drink of water. This was explained by the receptionist on checkout as being due to the power being tripped during the night, but she also mentioned that it happened a couple of times - I would have expected extra bottled water to be delivered to the rooms if this was even a remote possibility. These two things could be easily fixed but had a really negative impact on our trip and would mean I would be unlikely to stay here again.

Review 130:Good size, spacious accomodation with nice outlook. Comfortable rooms, with good room facilities.

Review 131:A bath mat would have been nice as bathroon floor is slippery after shower. fly screens on A check through by staff before guests arrive as it was a little dusty. More generous size coffe cups and glass tumblers
