Reviews for Hotel Jardines de Uyuni

Review 1:Location is a little far from where tour companies are located. But not a big deal. It's walkable distance. Wifi doesn't work well in rooms.

Review 2:Very hot water. Quite clean. Breakfast is okay. Friendly staffs. Service is good. They even store our luggages for free on my check-out date.

Review 3:The room was dark and damp. The shower was a weird design such that all the water leaked out and the bathroom was small. The down blankets on the bed were dirty looking. For the cost, we didn't feel like it was worth it. We only stayed here because La Petite Porte didn't have a room for after our Salar de Uyuni tour came back (the price was the same for both).

Review 4:The breakfast was great. We were able to pay with credit card. The restaurant Tika attached to the hotel is a very nice environment and the staff at the restaurant was super friendly. The wifi worked.

Review 5:nothing.

Review 6:I booked for two nights and as I was sick I asked for another one, on which the nice team included the discount offer. Very nice buffet breakfast, very hot shower and helpful people. If I come back, I´ll book again here.

Review 7:No windows in the room. Rooms and especially the bathroom could be refreshed. A bit expensive for what you get but it's Uyuni!

Review 8:Friendly staff, rooms are OK but don't set your expectations too high.

Review 9:Both pool and sauna were under construction and we would have loved to make use of these facilities.

Review 10:We arrived in Uyuni by plane (as the night busses didn't go due to student strikings) early in the morning and wanted to have one day buffer and relaxation before heading to the three days jeep tour around salar de Uyuni. The hotel was just perfect for that intention. While Uyuni is not a place you want to stay (seems like a left alone wild western town), this hotel is among the best on site and great to prepare for the rough jeep ride. Quiet, clean, heated rooms and good breakfast selection.

Review 11:Room 123 was DARK, had to go down on all four to find electric outlet and to lie on my stomach to actually reach it. WiFi very weak and available. In reception area only.

Review 12:Nice hotel, good breakfast in a dusty "frontier" like town with literally nothing to offer. Rooms surround a nicely decorated roofed courtyard.

Review 13:On the day of our reservation, we were told we would not be able to stay at the hotel because it was under construction! My reservation had been confirmed over four months before our reservation date and not once had I been notified about the cancellation. We were also informed that our reservation had been tranferred to another hotel (which has lower Booking.com ratings than the Hotel Jardines de Uyuni), but at almost the same price! The least they could´ve done was to offer a discount because we had no control over the reservation transfer, and seeing that it was the day of our reservation, we were left with no choice but to accept. We did get a discount in the end, but we had to ask for it. Very poor service, to say the least.

Review 14:I thought breakfast could have been better; there were very few options and the quality of the food was not great. In general, I found the hotel expensive for what it had to offer

Review 15:The location of the hotel was excellent, and the facilities offered were very good in general

Review 16:location was a bit far from center of town but not really an issue since town very small

Review 17:very nicely decorated rooms, with a nice rustic feeling. Super helpful staff, hot showers, heated blankets

Review 18:It was freezing in the hotel..even staff work with warm jackets!! No heating in Salar de Uyuni is extreme for such a hotel!!

Review 19:Common areas are nicely designed

Review 20:Milenka was a star. From the moment we arrived she made the last leg of our honeymoon really special. Everything from helping us with our next City Hotel, to organising cabs, to giving local guidance and recommendations. All the staff were really friendly and happy to help, will definitely stay here again if we return.

Review 21:Wifi slow and kept dropping but only a minor point

Review 22:Warm welcome from the receptionist, good room with comfy bed, lovely set out courtyard which the rooms were around, hot water and heating worked. Also first class breakfast

Review 23:One of the days room smelled with chemicals from attempted cleaning, they changed the room; Breakfast very poor, not very comfortable overall

Review 24:Staff - helpful, friendly, cheerful

Review 25:Overpriced for Bolivia. Uncomfortable bed with tired mattress no better than budget hostel stayed in La Paz. Not all facilities available all year (ie pool). Potentially could be a lot better with upgrades as the building itself etc is nice.

Review 26:Clean,

Review 27:Breakfast wasn't quite up to standard - no offer of fresh eggs etc. breakfast only open for 2 hrs until 9am....

Review 28:The decor was great throughout. Lots of hot water for showers. Super comfortable beds with duvets,

Review 29:Fairly expensive, but worth if you are looking for a somewhat decent place.

Review 30:Decent rooms, clean, a bit sticky due to lack of windows, but way better than other places in Uyuni.

Review 31:- only real window in room towards indoor patio, hence lack of fresh air; not a big problem for us, we just opened the room door for a few minutes to get some fresh air in

Review 32:- extremely clean - staff super friendly and helpful - reception speaks fluent English - rooms and common area very nice designed - beds very comfortable - good WiFi in room - good breakfast buffet: variety of fresh juices/shakes and fruits, scrambled egg and sausages, cheese, ham, salami, selection of sweet stuff (jam, cake, pastries)

Review 33:-noisy (all the windows were on the corridor of the hotel and people wake up very early) - too hot un the bedroom

Review 34:- wifi !!! The bandwith was very good - décoration - breakfast (a lot of choice, including cheese and eggs) - the employees were very kind

Review 35:The hotel does not accept credit card, which is not acceptable for the price (high) they charge. And the attitude of Booking.com is also not acceptable because they do not inform properly on this. One has to search in small letters the information hidden somewhere, whereas this should be properly highlighted when one is searching and comparing hotels. I can accept that small cheap hotels do not accept credit card but not hotels like this one which are not cheap for what they offer. Breakfast too is very basic and could definitely be improved.

Review 36:The hotel is very nice, the architecture and rooms. The staff are nice.

Review 37:Price, but we felt it was worth it after our three day trip to the salt flat where the accommodation was so basic.

Review 38:Very nice place with a lovely courtyard and swimming pool. Rooms were spacious well and well decorated. Staff were nice and one receptionist spoke good English.

Review 39:It's a neat little hotel for when you arrive after a long journey from San Pedro . Rooms were a little stale as there is little fresh air and no fans available to circulate what air there was. Breakfast was ok but when we were were told that there would be basic breakfast for us for an early flight there was nothing. In a town were I don't think you can too expect much it will do.. You don't stay too long in uyuni.

Review 40:Bathroom is a bit small but its clean and functional, didn't bother us that much.

Review 41:We booked one night, but end up staying two extra nights , my husband had high altitude sickness, the receptionist helped giving oxygen, finding doctors and give lots help with getting prescription, food. She is amazing! The room was clean and had good size bed chairs and tables.

Review 42:Our first room was stuffy and you couldn't open any windows. It looked out onto a courtyard which was sometimes noisy and smokey. Shower curtain didn't fit, making floor dangerously slippery. Eiderdown was filthy and sheets had holes in. Lady in charge knew of the problems (why give us this room?) and showed us a bigger room with no windows at all. Plastic roof vents meant we woke up when it got light. Lots of damp in room and shower curtain still didn't fit. Again lady on reception knew about it. Srong smell of fresh paint. Wifi very weak. Terrible value for money, we were pleased to leave. First disappointing hotel in four months in South America.

Review 43:Breakfast was good, great choice though coffee in urn was undrinkable, but there were sachets of instant coffee. Waiter friendly but hopped around nervously as if afraid we were going to steal the cutlery.

Review 44:Shower curtain too small causing water to go everywhere during a shower

Review 45:Bed was very comfy, slept great! Wifi was very good Breakfast was tasty Staff allowed me to use wifi to review local tours after I had checked out of my room

Review 46:With only a curtain in the shower, the protection was not enough and after a small shower the bathroom was already full of water on the floor.

Review 47:Very nice decoration, clean, friendly staff, close to the city center and still not disturbed by the noise of the street.

Review 48:it is located very far from the main street it takes 15 min by walk. moreover there is no one who can speak English. so whenever I have a request I cannot deliver. wifi is just working in public area.

Review 49:good decoration warm atmosphere

Review 50:A bit overpriced, but probably worth it since you won't find any better option in Uyuni.

Review 51:Friendly staff, hot shower (really good after the tour through the Salar), good breakfast, spacious rooms. We left one luggage there during our tour through the Salar, which was no problem and by far better than to leave it at the travel agency (most agencies seemed unreliable).

Review 52:Price is expensive for Bolivia but it is hard to did anywhere nice&good value in uyuni.

Review 53:Comfortable place to stay after a trip to the salt flats. Radiators in the rooms come on at 7pm and stay on through the night. Breakfast isn't amazing but it's decent enough.

Review 54:The heating was only on for a short time. It was constantly cold in the room.

Review 55:Nowhere is particularly good value in Uyuni. This is a nice hotel with excellent staff and reasonable breakfast

Review 56:Location was a little bit along the Main Street...however, we preferred this as it was quiet.

Review 57:Great decoration and comfortable rooms. Complementary water. Lovely bed and heating on through the night! Great breakfast with lots of choice.

Review 58:The reception refused to organise a taxi from the train station to the hotel saying this was not a service they offered! Well, every other hotel does, so i fail to see why not. That said, there were fires in oil drums with locals huddled around them just outside the train station forecourt - a very odd intriduction to a new town ...

Review 59:buffet breakfast. bizarre room arrangement with an enormous central lobby running through the whloe ground floor with small rooms off it. The rooms could have been twice the size and not detracted from the ambience.

Review 60:Check in wasn't until 3pm, so when taking the night bus from La Paz it's a significant wait for a shower.

Review 61:Rooms were very comfortable and the wifi was the best we had in all of Bolivia. Main areas were very homely and a nice hideaway from the town.

Review 62:They kept us waiting for one hour before checking in the previously booked room. We couldn't have dinner the re because we had not reserved 24 hours before.

Review 63:Full breakfast at 5.15 am. beautiful room and patio.

Review 64:Rooms were a bit small but for a crashing point before/after a desert trip, it is fine. The location is a bit off but Uyuni is such a small town that the 4 blocks that the hotel is away from the center by are actually a nice little walk (less than 5min).

Review 65:Very helpful / excellent staff- the girl at reception took in our luggage three days before our check-in date for safekeeping while we went on the 3day Uyuni trip. Nice winter garden. Fireplace in the reception hall (it feels so nice to warm up by fire from the coldness in a desert morning).

Review 66:Staff didn't speak English, small amount of mould in bathroom & bit more expensive then other places of equal standard we stayed in.

Review 67:Clean room, nice hot showers & electric blanket was a nice touch!

Review 68:some rooms were freshly painted and the smell was horrific (and most likely very toxic). i brought it up and the lady came in and sprayed the room with some odor remover (more chemicals to cover the smell haha). we basically had to sleep in that freshly painted room, as they did not have another one. which sounded weird, as the hotel is huge and I saw maybe 2 more couples in 2 days. the water was cold- again, the lady told us we have to wait for like 3 minutes. but even after 30 minutes, the water was still cold. you come from dusty uyuni and try to take a shower....not a really nice experience. I showered in cusco the next night. of course we tried the water several times a day. and of course I went into another room to use their mirror, and noticed the paint smell was not there. so the staff could have avoided this.

Review 69:not much

Review 70:There was an overpowering smell of methylated spirits in the room and reception which we can only assume was the cleaning fluid used.

Review 71:Clean, warm and hot water!

Review 72:The mattress was not great

Review 73:The woman at the reception was super nice and helpful and speaks perfect English. The communal area is really really nice!

Review 74:A little bit overpriced.

Review 75:A good refreshment after touring to salar de uyuni with good bed and hot shower.

Review 76:Stable hot water ,comfortable bed room and the staffs have prepared breakfast and taxi for us when we check out @ 4:30 am.

Review 77:The room is very small for two people. It's a bit too expensive for such a room.

Review 78:Good location, friendly staff.

Review 79:Was a little difficult to find when we got off the train.

Review 80:Nice small little hotel that was comfortable.

Review 81:After shower, the floor of bathroom got quite wet and did not dry.

Review 82:Staff was good at English and kindly supported.

Review 83:The welcome, the tea as we walk in and the amazing beds/shower and breakfast!

Review 84:The best hotel in a city filled with fraudulent salt flat tours

Review 85:The mattress wasn't the best.

Review 86:We loved this place. The hotel, staff, location were all great. I would definitely stay there again.

Review 87:Not all the staff speaks English. It's not possible to pay by credit cards.

Review 88:The entrance, very cozy. Laundry service.

Review 89:Wi Fi range can get better but overall was good

Review 90:Very professional and friendly staff!!

Review 91:Room was a little cramped.

Review 92:Warm and cosy room, good hot shower. Great breakfast.

Review 93:Nice and warm hotel in Uyuni. Heated and comfortable room.

Review 94:Could not pay by credit card

Review 95:The garden space

Review 96:great ambience and internal feel. also good warmth in dry season

Review 97:Café da manhã deixou a desejar.

Review 98:Quarto com aquecimento e água quente, itens raros na cidade de Uyuni. Decoração rústica.

Review 99:cold at night and absence of a bar/café on the premises

Review 100:decor and cleanliness

Review 101:The breakfast was ok, not great

Review 102:The staff were very helpful. The hotel was nice with rooms around a courtyard.

Review 103:Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff; walkable to the main square of bars/restaurants. Felt safe and comfortable.

Review 104:Room small, bathroom door didn't close

Review 105:For Uyuni this was quite good, nice central space in hotel for sitting and good staff

Review 106:Everything was good.

Review 107:The hotel was so nice to come back to after 3 days in a van! Friendly and helpful staff, pretty rooms, comfy beds- perfect!

Review 108:none

Review 109:room, resting area, use of computers, breakfast

Review 110:Nothing

Review 111:Hotel was super clean very nicely furnished and very quiet.

Review 112:Friendly staffs They even let us do the early check-in It's expensive considering the place, but definitely worth it

Review 113:Breakfast was below standard. The rooms have windows on indoor patio so if other travellers sit there and chat noisily there is no peace.

Review 114:The pool

Review 115:Room dirty, no external window or fresh air, no ventilation

Review 116:Quiet, good breakfast variety

Review 117:Very good breakfast (many things to choose), free tea and coffee available 24h.

Review 118:Built in skylights in bedrooms allow too much light for confortable sleep.

Review 119:Helpfull staff

Review 120:Breakfast, free wifi, for the area it is the best around

Review 121:Uyuni itself is not a very nice place to visit
