Reviews for Hotel du Commerce

Review 1:Computerised lighting in bedroom and en suite very romantic but hard to work out.

Review 2:Stayed here for our visit to the Belguim F1 Grand Prix. It was a 30-40 minute easy drive to the circuit from a quiet direction so not too much traffic. We went for a Superior room on a Half board basis and were very pleased both with room and meals. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty to choose from, both hot and cold. Evening meals were of good quality although choice of menu was quite limited. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and although in an ungated car park I would be very confident there is no cause for concern. This is small 'sleepy' style town with a very pleasant centre around the square and a dozen or so bars/hotels etc. Lovely to sit out over a beer. I am a keen motorcyclist and this area and hotel is well and truly marked on my list for a revisit. Thank you to all the staff for a very enjoyable stay.

Review 3:Wi fi was practically non-existent in our room.

Review 4:Room was very large and quiet if you left the windows closed. Breakfast was included and they had good coffee. Cute town near Bastogne.

Review 5:Sadly they did nothing wrong but we had been spoiled by staying in a superior room last time which wasn't available this time. Advice go for the superior rooms and its great. Wasn't keen on the morning breakfast assistant eating whilst serving and staring as you ate breakfast. Other staff were brilliant

Review 6:Location

Review 7:Beds were a little soft, but that's a personal thing.

Review 8:WiFi was good, had good signal strength throughout the hotel. Food was superb, set menu with half board was excellent value. We liked the set menu but staff always asked if we would like something else. Room was spacious and clean. I would have no hesitation about staying at this hotel again.

Review 9:Very clean. Good breakfast.

Review 10:The room, the bed,and the food. BBC.and other languag's on TV. .wifi readily available.

Review 11:Superb facility, extremely clean, staff went out of their way friendly, very kind. Beautiful village and excellent local beer

Review 12:No specific downsides

Review 13:Excellent location and friendly staff. Good breakfast variety and good parking locations.

Review 14:we felt that coffee/tea could have been provided in the room , we had a superior room and this in other hotels is covered as standard

Review 15:Nice modern rooms, very friendly staff, good central location in small town

Review 16:Floors in room were dirty; needed to be mopped. Pillows were uncomfortable; bedding was thin. First room we had was on the street side and extremely noisy until early hours of the morning, and was very hot - it was an attic room - no air conditioning and was supposed to be a superior room. We wanted to leave after one night but were going to be charged so we asked for another room in the back which was quiet. One of the more expensive hotels during our two week stay in Belgium and certainly not the best.

Review 17:The price seemed too high for the off-season (February).

Review 18:Clean (recently renovated). Large room. Excellent central location. Friendly service. Dog friendly.

Review 19:No air-con in the room or restaurant- not working. Noise from roadsmoking from outside could be detected in bedroom. No non smokingarea outside

Review 20:Comfortable room good restaurant

Review 21:The restaurant offered good food, however the menu was not in English. The waiter translated as best he could, and the food was good, however,an English menu would've been preferred. The hotel staff did not cleanthe room until approx. 2Pm, which was a little inconvenient since we hadalready gone out and come back for the afternoon.

Review 22:The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were cozy, but justwhat we needed for a weekend getaway. The hotel was centrally locatedand within walking distance to other restaurants. The hotel restaurantwas very convenient...they even stayed open late for us to enjoy anotherBelgian beer. Also, the breakfast was great!!

Review 23:Dinner is a bit pricy.

Review 24:Houffalize is a small village, yet has some more facilities than the villages in the neighbourhood. It is a good starting point for trekking (although you will need a car to get to actual starting points; most of them are only 5-10 km away). The hotel is fine and staff is very friendly and helpful.

Review 25:We used this hotel as a stop-over between Lake Constance and the Chunnel for it served this purpose well and is also well placed for war based trips. It is comfortable with adequate food and a small spa.

Review 26:Great place to stay if planning battlefield visits without the traffic of Bastogne. Everyone at hotel very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is great!

Review 27:Mattress not very comfortable

Review 28:Good location and big room.

Review 29:Accommodation;Food;Staff and location

Review 30:Prachtig gerenoveerde kamer

Review 31:Excellent room & facilities. Good food Helpful staff Clean & well-presented hotel A Gem!

Review 32:Very helpfull and friendly staff. Stayed Half Board and set meals were excellent and breakfast perfectly adequate.
