Reviews for Ameron Hotel Flora Luzern
Review 1:Staffs weren't helpful... Not even greet with us when we pass by... Disappointed with the staffs.
Review 2:The location was perfect, the hotel is next to the city center and it's convenient to travel everywhere. The facilities were clean and tidy, and the breakfast was delicious!
Review 3:The hotel was very clean, and comfort. Wifi connection was on all the time, we love it. Location of the hotel was also great, near the Chapel bridge and train station. Breakfast was also great, we enjoyed the food.
Review 4:My friend and I felt one staff, a young lady, was not very polite to us, Chinese. Or, sound polite but not with her heart.
Review 5:Location is good. Breakfast is good. Room is nice. A little bit more expensive but also decorated a bit better.
Review 6:The noise from the street was very, very loud. I have stayed in Lucerne before at a nearby hotel and the noise wasn't nearly as loud.
Review 7:Breakfast was very good
Review 8:1. We booked 2 rooms. 2. The original room (329) assigned to us on the 3rd floor had an "Extremely" Strong smell of Napthalene balls (moth-balls) - the room was "NOT FIT" for occupancy. Our sons's room on the same floor next to our original room was ok. 3. We approached the staff to have the room changed, and they wanted to move us down to the 2nd floor - we were not pleased with that. In order to be on the same 3rd floor, we had to pay an extra CHF15 or 20 per day for an upgrade -- considering the hotel was not even full during this period of our occupancy. 4. I insisted that I did not want to pay any extra to be on the same floor as our sons - and they finally provided a free upgrade on the same floor. 5. I must add that the hotel staff showed some good initiative in customer relations. 6. We would stay in this hotel again.
Review 9:1. The hotel was just a 5-min walk to the famed Keppelbrucke, and the train station. 2. The staff was friendly and efficient. 3. Breakfast buffet was ok. 4. The city of Luzern is truely beautiful.
Review 10:Rooms size is small and charges of Rooms are higher.
Review 11:1.Professional Reception Desk members. 2. Good service,Breakfast 3. Good location- near to Lucern Main Railway station and near Famous Chappel Bridge.
Review 12:Phone not working. TV channels disappearing every day especially BBC English ones. Very tight on small supplies like tea and coffee pods etc. Housekeeping staff could do a better job.
Review 13:Location. Location. Location. And a very cheerful and helpful staff especially at reception.
Review 14:room had a little water damage in different areas from roof leaks. I'm a contractor so I noticed it but it did not make my experience worse. The lobby is quite modern and sterile, not the typical place we'd pick but price/location was outstanding
Review 15:you can see chapel bridge tower from the front door and easy walking distance from train station with luggage. the hotel was generally very nice and breakfast was a reasonable selection. I would stay here again and would recommend to friends.
Review 16:As the hotel is big and there are many customers during breakfast and you hardly can get staff to help. I notice there were seminars on-going during my stay, that could be a reason.
Review 17:The hotel is clean and nice. It is very near main station.
Review 18:The fact the Internet advertisement didn't mention the night club noise . 10pm /8am Consequently to have a quiet room expect to pay 40 Swiss franc per person per night
Review 19:breakfast
Review 20:A bit too "plain" for its price - just the basics, nothing extra that could pleasantly surprise us. Not a nice view from our room, but didn't expect that anyway. The rooms with view are few and cost more.
Review 21:The breakfast The location Very clean rooms
Review 22:Room was small, breakfast room crowded, food poor quality, despite being on the 4th floor and wearing ear plugs, I could stil hear the disco in the basement
Review 23:Location
Review 24:There is nothing we did not like!
Review 25:The location is absolutely perfect! In the midst of all the important sights and in the old city! Walking distance from train station. Friendliest & helpful staff. Breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of fresh and local food.
Review 26:Uncomfortable beds and awkward pillows, buffet breakfast was rather uninspiring. No bellboy/welcome person. Overpriced room service. We booked a room with a double bed but had two single beds pushed together with no joining sheet.
Review 27:Hotel presented well but let down in a few small areas.
Review 28:A lot of customers here. We feel noisy when we have breakfast and check-in. And room is a little small.
Review 29:The location is great, just next to the train station. And the facilities are new.
Review 30:It seems the hotel is very near to a dance club or something similar. On both weekend nights, there was a constant music beat that I could hear from about 11pm until early hours of the morning. I didn't sleep well in this hotel.
Review 31:Very clean room. Food was good.
Review 32:The breakfast was buffet style and quick. The waitresses were not very helpful when asked a question about the food.
Review 33:The location of the hotel was excellent! It was near the train station, just a 5 minute walk and we could see the chapel bridge which was a three minute walk.
Review 34:great location, less than 10 min walk to train, less than 10 min walk to the pier. Great staff with good advice for day trips. Although you cannot see the Chapel Bridge from your room, you can see it from the entrance to the hotel. Very clean, VERY modern, nice breakfast
Review 35:Staff seemed to be a little patronizing and not overly warm (especially with regards to the poor WiFi). Room was quite warm.
Review 36:Great location, easy walk from the train station.
Review 37:Inspite of receiving an upgrade, our room was small and backed on a busy alley. No air conditioning was available. Noise from opening the window, kept us awake all night.
Review 38:Excellent location! Great breakfast served. Enjoyable dining experience. Bed was very comfortable, but pillows were too soft.
Review 39:The room is a little bit small for two clients with two big case. No hot water for coffee and tea .
Review 40:Prefect location and breakfast ! We love individual beds with single cover!
Review 41:Room could have used more lights. Breakfast was not good. Breakfast staff were rude, and actually moved us from a table where we had put our things to a table by the bussing station. They wanted all breakfast patrons in one area, not spread throughout the restaurant.
Review 42:Room was good. Clean, nice design. Good wifi. Good location -- close to train station and all the sights in Lucerne.
Review 43:Breakfast situation needs attention - 1. Coffee maker was difficult to use 2. One of the male breakfast staff had an obvious lazy attitude - didn't seem happy in his job All staff need to be a little more welcoming as this makes the whole experience even better.
Review 44:The location was great, the room was nicely decorated. It was nice to be given a choice of bedding.
Review 45:On Sunday morning I had to ask three times for more fruit and yoghurt. On Monday morning every table in the restaurant was full of dirty dishes, only the girl waitress seemed to be working. No one wants to have breakfast surrounded by dirty plates Some wine in the mini bar would have been a nice extra
Review 46:The location, the views, the bedroom comfort. The ability to upgrade.
Review 47:Delightful hotel. Super-clean, comfy beds, friendly helpful staff. Great room (quiet) on 6th floor with balcony and view of Mt. Pilatus. Excellent breakfast included - loved the smoked salmon and variety of breads! Hotel is VERY close to the station and underground shopping. Thoroughly recommend staying there!
Review 48:Coffee machine in restaurant for breakfast no adequate for its task (numbers of people) and appeared to be having software or other issues making it unreliable. If you selected English as your language it gives you Ovaltine. Refilling the machine (which was necessary) seemed a long job, but staff very helpfully offered and brought coffee from another location.
Review 49:Excellent location, clean, modern, comfortable room. Good choice at breakfast. Bar and restaurant (evening) comfortable and friendly, with prices that are no worse than anywhere else in Luzern!
Review 50:Staff was bit unfriendly. They could do more to make visitors comfortable. Despite requesting an early checkin, it wasn't provided
Review 51:Very close to train station and lake. Just 2 min walk. Good facilities overall. Relatively small rooms
Review 52:I would have loved check-in to be slightly earlier than 4pm.
Review 53:The hotel was in a great spot, walking distance to the train station, breakfast was lovely, the rooms were clean.
Review 54:Looking over a car park.
Review 55:This hotel was quite 'funky' in an arty way. It was also in the best possible location to walk to both the train station and the famous covered bridge.
Review 56:Reception and bistro staff very welcoming. Room upgrade much appreciated. Location was excellent. Very close to lake, station and restaurants, only a few minutes walk.
Review 57:The parking doesn't belong to the hotel. the hotel has special price but you can't get in and out all the time. you will have to pay either per hour or decide to change the ticket at the hotel for the price of the hote (26CHF) regardless the number of hours and up to 1 night (24 hours) In addition, the exchange rate in the hotel is pretty high which I don't recommend paying in Eur in the hotel
Review 58:The hotel is in the center of the city, breakfast is good, rooms are big and clean
Review 59:Everything was wonderful
Review 60:The beds were very comfortable, very nice breakfast buffet and helpful staff. Great location, close to train station and main part of old town.
Review 61:The gal at the front desk was very accomodating when we arrived early & gave us a room. Nice! Convenient location for us. Very clean & modern.
Review 62:The hotel appears to cater to tour buses and not care about individual guests. Upon arrival we had to wait to check in as the tail end of a bus finished checking in. Each time through the lobby required making our way through a pile of people and suitcases waiting in line. Room was a nice size for an old city, but they failed to warn us about the street construction outside our room when we booked, and the complete lack of sound proofing one would expect from a hotel at this price point. The last straw for me was the extensive mold in the grout in the shower (first time I have ever, ever considered complaining immediately- it was that gross). To add, the water fluctuated about 5-15 degrees sporadically throughout your shower from chilly to scalding and back. We heard each guest's doors open and close throughout the night, and were woken up by construction quite early each morning. Breakfast (while a bit sleep deprived) was utter chaos to the extent that we chose to skip the aggravation and pay for breakfast anywhere else for the rest of our stay. After waiting a bit to be "seated" we were told to seat ourselves anywhere, and after fighting through the awful traffic flow and having coffee spilled on my, found one of the few tables left that did not have dirty dishes on it. We had to ask for clean plates to be restocked, then glasses for water/juice, and lastly how to get coffee after trying the broken machine multiple times before being yelled at from across the room that it was broken (a sign instead would have been nice). Once we had food and drinks at our table we were told we had to move to a different room since our room was 'reserved' - but the elderly couple that sat just seconds before us did not have to move. We had to clear a table of dishes off ourselves in the new room to find a new place to sit and scarf down breakfast surrounded by dirty plates/tables.
Review 63:Location. Modern finishings / decorations. Bed was comfortable.
Review 64:The whole experience at this hotel was excellent. We were upgraded to a premium room at no extra charge and had a lovely sunny balcony. The beds were extremely comfortable. Location is very central for walking to Lucerne and around the lake.
Review 65:We thought the male staff when we checked in gave us the run around. We arrived 12:30 pm on August 22, and completely understand rooms are not available until 3 pm although it is hard to believe all rooms are ready at exactly 3 pm. They tried to get us to pay for a more expensive room to check in early. We think they took advantage of us. All other hotels are our month long trip were much more accomodating. This left a very bad impression on us.
Review 66:Good location, good breakfast, and overall good value
Review 67:the entrance hall is probably on progress . the walls had spot and the paiting was partially faded, moquette style and wall upstairs werent just elegant and did not matched but the ensemble was clean and well enlightened. everything worked very well.
Review 68:Very close to railway station, reception desk attendand very quick and ready for any request. kind and offered us an upgrade at a very good rate. very calm zone.
Review 69:Breakfast room too noisy and crowded in the area of the buffet as there's only one coffee machine with self service available and guests are queuing in front of it. Dishes could be cleaner and staff more attentive.
Review 70:Perfect location, close to train station and city center (old town). Breakfast is offered until noon on Sundays.
Review 71:On arrival to the hotel we was told that we only had 3 out of the 4 double rooms that I had pre booked. 1 off those 3 rooms was no longer a double but a single. the hotel manager did not really seem fazed by this and offered us a room at another hotel. I requested that all 4 of us be moved to another hotel as we were on a business trip and were to stay together due to an early morning pick-up. The hotel manager was more concerned that he would then loose out!! and was not really concerned that he'd given one of the rooms I had booked away, I believe he even suggested we share, I remind you were on a business trip with work colleagues. eventually one of my female colleagues put herself forward to spend the night in another hotel. When we asked for a Tea/Coffee due to the rooms not supplying tea and coffee before we went off to our rooms, we was provided them free due to the inconvenience, although my colleague was told he still had to pay for his chocolate bar!! the man was polite through out but just didn't seem to really go out of his way on behalf of the hotel to make up for this, we just had to accept it.
Review 72:The Bed was very comfortable even though I didn't get into it until 1:00am in the morning due to the situation that happened on arrival to the Hotel.
Review 73:The hotel is very close to the main station (5 min by walk). You may have a direct view of the lake (unfortunately we didn't have a lake-view room). The breakfast buffet is very nice.
Review 74:The price is too high, but I guess it's the downside of every hotel in Swiss.
Review 75:Good location, 5 mins from HBF and 1 min from the bridge and lake. Helpful staff, nice environment, comfortable room.
Review 76:Very cold welcome, actually we were more interested in checking in, than the reception. While asked over 9 months before for the quiest room, given the room next to the cleaning service store and the closest to the lift. Also the configuration of the room was terrible, two people could not pass each other, felt extremely confined and squashed, close to claustrophobic feeling, not talking about the TV unit positioned liked in the end of your bed. In our opinion this room absolutely does not qualify for 2 people or should be charged no more than half of the price, if not lower. Yes, can't deny, we were move on the next day to a better room, but all that situation put a lot of stress on us , you should not face while traveling. The configuration of the other room was more comfortable, size wise for the price still small. Same with the bathroom, toilet squashed between the bath tub and vanity cabinet. Also little surprise while trying to use the shower gel or shampoo, both placed permanently on the wall and when you try to pump it out, usually it lands in your eyes or face, depends with your heights; that's very poor solution for the price and 4 stars hotel. Also on one day our complimentary bar has not been refilled and then we were blamed by the girl doing the room, that we lied and took the refill ( she was even pointing towards the water we got from the shop and which was anyway different brand than the water supplied by the hotel. So it was really bad experience. It was our second staying in this hotel and also the last one.
Review 77:The location can't be any better. Also the best porter ( Hose) we ever came across while traveling for many years, not only very helpful, but showing a lots of warmth and human understanding. Wish, the people behind the reception desk would show 1/10th of his attitude.
Review 78:Quite busy in the reception at times with a lot of group travellers. A little bit noisy air condition and yet a bit hot in the room.
Review 79:Very nice staff and good location. Very good breakfast.
Review 80:Nil
Review 81:Very central - close to train station, theatre, chapel bridge and river. Walking distance to major sightseeing locations and museums. Attentive staff - able to lend out Swiss - UK adaptors for appliance recharging.
Review 82:Shower had a big head but promised more than it delivered! Also went hot and cold for no apparent reason. Password for wifi a bit hard to work out.
Review 83:Quiet location very near the old town. Good bed, pillows etc. staff very helpful. Breakfast excellent with lots of fresh fruit.
Review 84:One abrupt and rude lady staff member on front desk. Pricey but then so is everything in Switzerland
Review 85:Close to main train station but need to walk down quite a few stairs carrying bags - return is easier with escalators. Amazing view from the room and a small balcony to sit out on. Good breakfast.
Review 86:The AC in the bedroom did not work even after requesting reception to look into it on two occasions.
Review 87:The location is prefect the breakfast was great and staff very friendly.
Review 88:Quality hotel in every regard and in central location. The staff were very helpful from providing an early check in to explaining sights of the city.
Review 89:Staff is ok but not very friendly. When I walked in and out the hotel, they just keep staring without greeting( It is not that necessary but most of the hotel in switzerland that we have experienced greet us with warm welcome) Maybe it is a modern style; however, overall is still good.
Review 90:Cleanliness,Modern style room, Location Hotel quality is standard as you can expect from city hotel.
Review 91:reciptionest was finishing paperwork we had to wait and wait. We had to pay to deliver our bags to our rooms. The breakfast was very poor and not enough for everyone and finished before the breakfast hours were over.
Review 92:the location
Review 93:Luzern is not a big city and the location of Ameron is the best among the best. The facility are good, neat, spotless clean and the breakfast is at average level. The single room is small but OK for one occupancy. Receptionist is friendly and efficient. Would recommend.
Review 94:Impersonal, minimal service, business style hotel. Poor ambience, over-priced but with an excellent location. Breakfast was poor. Coffee machine never worked.
Review 95:Location is good
Review 96:Airco not working, in heat wave, no apologies, very poor customer service at front desk, only offered free parking, and free upgrade for a room with no airco!
Review 97:Breakfast and location
Review 98:I requested for a backside room which is facing the river, however we were assigned with a conner room facing the car park. Maybe the hotel is fully booked already. Overall the rate is a bit expensive.
Review 99:The location is perfect for the ones who are in Lucerne for the first time. Just one block away from the railway station and close to the river and major attractions. The breakfast is good with enough variety.
Review 100:The reason I selected this hotel is just because it equips with an air conditioner. The hotel claims that it is a four star hotel. However, comparing with other hotels during the trip, I feel it is not worth that much to stay the hotel. The room was just OK and the breakfast was just fine.
Review 101:Air conditioner and location
Review 102:Friendly, helpful staff Convenient location, especially as using train and public transport Great breakfast buffet Clean, comfortable, well appointed room
Review 103:Breakfast was good but we timed it to co-incide with a coach load of Chinese tourists, there was a long que for the coffee machine
Review 104:The room was immaculate and nicely furnished, we arrived early morning and reception had a room ready for us by 11am.
Review 105:The hotel is just steps from the iconic covered bridge and a few minutes from the train station. Wonderful staff, clean/comfortable room, nice breakfast, and walking distance to everything.
Review 106:We booked and paid in advance for a Smart Premium Room with a view of Mt Pilatus. On arrival, we found ourselves in a small basic room with a view of the interior light well. As no rooms of the type we paid for were available, we were relocated into a premium room, still with no view. They threw in free parking (CHF26.00) but is this good enough?
Review 107:Friendly, helpful staff. Central location. Convenient carpark.
Review 108:The hotel was clean, comfortable and had great amenities. We appreciated a wonderful baby crib set up, HUGE buffet breakfast each morning, big bath tub, and the fact that we even had an espresso machine in the room
Review 109:Wish we were told the mini bar was complimentary with our room rate. Only discovered this at check out when I went to pay for one mineral water.
Review 110:Location. Comfortable bed. Breakfast.
Review 111:Would like more gluten and lactose free options at breakfast
Review 112:Offered us an upgrade with reasonable price, because room we had booked was overlooking a nightclub at at night was very noisy
Review 113:Did not like being promised a free minibar to find that it consisted of 1 bottle of beer and soft drinks! Don't have an issue paying for drinks but do not promise what you do not deliver!
Review 114:Hotel facilities are good, service not to be faulted. Central location.
Review 115:While quite common around Europe, it was a bit annoying and uncomfortable to have two single beds half pushed together when we had booked a large double bed in advance. The in room fridge was not cold at all!
Review 116:Location was perfect! Only a couple of minutes walk away from the Chapel Bridge, lake and the Old Town.
Review 117:A fantastic position in the city centre by the main sights with underground parking or, if arriving by train, right by the station. Very comfortable bed.
Review 118:We were given a lower grade room than what we reserved. Only after asking the front desk, we were told all rooms were sold out and would receive 10 Euro reduction. We asked for cofee maker and hot water (for making tea) since it was specified in room description, but were not given the information. Later a customer told us hot water was available at night in the breakfast area. Poor attititude of the young man at front desk when we checked in at 10 pm on June 16, 2015. Customer service was cold, impersonal.
Review 119:Good location to train station and the city center.
Review 120:No problems but can be a bit of a scrum at breakfast if at the same time as the bus tours. Wi Fi connection more complicated than some.
Review 121:Friendly helpful staff. Very central with an underground car park at reduced rates for guests.
Review 122:staff's apparent detached attitude. my request for reserving an extra adaptor was refused, only to be told to check it out at reception on the next morning after breakfast. staff also unable to give more details on William Tell Express reservation arrangements except for referring me to the Central Station. Yet, the hotel manual said guests may check with Front desk on tour details.
Review 123:breakfast and balcony. fully functional room with free drinks for first stay. quick response to requests
Review 124:No kettle in the room - asked the reception for one but was told it was impossible and we had to get hot water from the restaurant (admittedly it's open 24 hours but having to pick up hot water downstairs everytime we wanted a cup of tea seemed strange for a 4-star hotel)
Review 125:Right next to the Chapel Bridge and a super easy walk from the train station. Great wifi and breakfast. We got a free upgrade to their 'top category' room apparently which we appreciated...but in all honesty didn't feel like it was 'top category'.
Review 126:We had the opportunity to chose the type of the bed. However, as a couple, we really disliked the two individual matresses. Even though they are placed side by side, there's a gap between them that makes it really unconfortable.
Review 127:The location is perfect!
Review 128:This hotel is in a great location, close to main station and the Chapel Bridge. It was pretty much in the centre of shops, cafes, restaurants and very close to river and the beautiful lake. We would stay here again.
Review 129:The room doesn't have kingsize bed but only twin beds.when i asked to the receptionist i have got this answer: - the hotel has only twin beds- Toilet room is extremely essential and doesn't provide slippers and bathrobe as shown on pictures.
Review 130:Excellent position, excellent breakfast, next to an underground car park (to pay apart)
Review 131:The fact that in the hotel complex there is Rock Cafe / Club. The sound of the music (base) caused noice from 24.00 until 6.00 in the morning basically ruining a good night sleep. Luckily check-out is at 12.00 so we were able to catch enough sleep.
Review 132:Location, facilities
Review 133:Central location Safe 2min from train station and congress center Ask for the upgraded/renovated rooms, they are very nicely done and comfortable
Review 134:The room was very small and dated. When we went to breakfast we encountered a VERY rude staff member. She told us off for sitting where we were as she had set those tables up for lunch (it was about 9:30am) and then basically threw napkins on our table. Just takes someone like this to ruin an experience. Other waiter was nice and had given us permission to sit where we were.
Review 135:The location was fantastic. The room was very clean. The hotel overlooks the river which is great. The staff at reception were lovely and helpful.
