Reviews for B&B Yoake

Review 1:Wonderful B and B in a perfect location for the centre of Ypres. Hosts Lisbet and Michael could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was plentiful and beautifully prepared. Just wonderful accommodation.

Review 2:NOTHING IT WAS GREAT.

Review 3:LOVELY GROUND FLOOR ROOM. MORE LIKE A SELF CONTAINED APPARTMENT, MASSIVE... EASY PARKING WHICH WAS FREE. GREAT COFFEE SHOP MIMIS DOWN THE ROAD. LOVELY EXPERIENCE. YOU COLD SPEND A WEEK HERE AND NOT FEEL YOU WERE IN A HOTEL ROOM MORE LIKE A HOUSE.

Review 4:Warm,friendly welcome. Given plenty of information which helped us make the best use of a short stay in Ypres. Lovely, modern accommodation and a fantastic breakfast !

Review 5:Fabulous food, first class bed and breakfast. We have returned. It was the highlight of our break being made so welcome. If you have the time, go for the spa treatments.

Review 6:Trivial point only - there was a lack of towel rails/hooks to hang up the towels after you used them.

Review 7:Breakfast was excellent, as was the location - close to the centre but still quiet and the availability of free parking was a bonus. Owner was very friendly and helpful.

Review 8:Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Fantastic room, fantastic staff, fantastic location. Probably the best place we stayed our whole trip. Wish we could've stayed longer.

Review 9:Nothing not to like.

Review 10:Very pleasant, friendly owners, well designed and comfortable accommodation, lovely breakfast. It is within easy walking distance of the main square and the room we had was very quiet. We have stayed here before and would gladly go back again.

Review 11:Fantastic place to stay, very friendly and helpful owners. Nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was ample and very tasty. Best nights sleep we have had in ages thanks to a very comfortable bed.

Review 12:Very modern European toilet facilities

Review 13:Friendly, helpful owner; five minute walk to Town Center, owner remembered dietary requirements for 2 travellers with food allergies.

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:Yoake B&B was superior in any aspect one could consider, 5 stars for everything. Great location , excellent friendly people, and first class facilities. Blisterngly fast internet speeds. The home cooked breakfast was magnificent. We will definately return and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for accomodation in the Ypres area.

Review 16:Everything, Michael and his wife Lisbeth were very hospitable and helpful, the accommodation, amazing. Ypres was a very pleasant surprise, could have stayed longer.

Review 17:Nothing at all.

Review 18:This is a high quality B&B, my room was really a suite, and our other room was perfect also. Everything is new and a lot of thought has gone into it. Breakfast was huge and really good quality.

Review 19:we had to leave too soon

Review 20:Everything about this B&B is so much better than we expected. The reviews do not do it justice. Michael was a superb host. His breakfast was excellent (we're missing them already). We simply cannot fault any part of our experience and are looking for a way to go back asap.

Review 21:The B & B was located centrally in the heart of town. It was within easy reach of restaurants and shops. It was only a short walk to the Memorial Service every night. The breakfast delivered to our room was delicious.

Review 22:The temperatures were late 30's during our stay & unfortunately the Yoake had recently suffered a house fire which had damaged the upstairs of the house so no Air-con was available but everywhere had been redecorated. we were informed of this on arrival by Michael who kept us informed regularly when the air-con would be fitted. the new machines arrived during our stay but unfortunately the refit was happening the day we departed. having said this it did not distract from a very enjoyable stay & we would definitely return.

Review 23:the owners were just lovely people, they were helpful, approachable & very informative. location was excellent & very quiet. Maps of the town were provided along with eating/drinking recommendations if you wanted them (& they were spot on with their recommendatoons). the breakfast was very well thought out & perfect proportions. the building was beautiful & the interior didn't disappoint. i have never stayed anywhere ever with as much storage as they provided (loved it). the beds were sooo comfortable & even had a remote to lift up/down head/foot of bed. the bathroom was HUGE & well thought out with a massive bath, separate shower & 2 sinks (home from home for us). there was a lovely courtyard for all to use but we didn't have a spare minute so never had chance to sit & relax there. a fridge with a good selection of beers including Trappist beer was provided for guests (payment on departure). they also have a fabulous looking spa area with steam, jacuzzi, sauna & treatments (all payable extra), again just not enough hours in the day to try this. all in all a fabulous stay, highly highly recommended & we will return.

Review 24:nothing we did not like.

Review 25:good location, parking for car nearby. Owners were a great help with information. great breakfast brought to room in a basket.

Review 26:Liesbet and Miguel are great hosts. We were met on arrival and Liesbet ensured we were introduced to the apartment, which was delightful and welcoming. Breakfast is brought to you every morning at a time to suit you. The fresh OJ is lovely. Ideal location in Ieper for everything you may want to see or do and only 5 to 10 minutes from the Menin Gate

Review 27:we did not get the room advertised on booking.com no garden terrace or air conditioning the room we had was not even advertised very misleading

Review 28:the owners were friendly breakfast was excellent

Review 29:Slight annoyance - wifi wouldn't let us send emails

Review 30:Room was massive with separate lounge area containing giant TV with English channels Lovely breakfast Friendly owners

Review 31:There isn't anything that we would have wished to change.

Review 32:Warm welcome, very helpful and sociable owners and a really nice accomodation. Our hosts were always there to help.

Review 33:Nothing really, but visitors need to be aware that, like many such places in Ieper, there are stairs to be tackled.

Review 34:Ieper is a great place, and this is an excellently located place to explore it from. The owner is a fount of useful knowledge! Excellent bathroom and breakfast.

Review 35:Lizbeth and Michael are perfect hosts - friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, breakfast delicious and served elegantly.Excellent location walking distance to museums, Menin gate, shopping and restaurants.

Review 36:The bed could have been more comfortable - tendency to roll to the middle. Also the quilt too warm for this time of year.

Review 37:Very helpful host. Wonderful suite of rooms. Lavish breakfast.

Review 38:Very Minor point but not enough hooks in bathroom to hang towels and clothes when showering

Review 39:Liked the ambience and spaciousness of the facilities. The bed was most comfortable.

Review 40:Shower leaked as it didn't drain properly and the doorbell went frequently around 7am which woke you up if upstairs.

Review 41:Excellent location and lovely to have a seating area for the evening to watch a film.

Review 42:Nothing - we wish we could have stayed much longer.

Review 43:Our hosts were so welcoming. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and after a great night's sleep we were greeted with a hearty and extremely tasty breakfast. The B&B is not in the centre of town so is lovely and quiet but just a very short walk from shops, cafes and restaurants.

Review 44:Location is outstanding and the hosts are flexible and accommodating. Breakfast is wonderful and a great way to meet with other travelers if you choose.

Review 45:The hosts are very friendly, attentive, full of good tips on what to do and see. Focussed on you getting the maximum out of your stay. Very good value for money. We would definitely recommend it.

Review 46:The breakfast was incredible and brought to your room at a time of your choosing. The owners were very nice and helpful. They recommended many great places to eat and things to do. The location was excellent. Just a short walk from the train station. Overall a great experience and would definitely stay there again.

Review 47:nothing

Review 48:everything. Gorgeous rooms, excellent friendly and knowledgeable owner, delightful breakfast. Very relaxing stay, wish we had been able to stay longer. We are not usually B&B people as we are privacy lovers, no concerns here

Review 49:Nothing !

Review 50:Location was just a few minutes walk from the main square and we parked just around the corner fir free. Miguel was so friendly when we arrived and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was on the ground floor opening into a little court yard, very clean and spacious with a well stocked fridge with everything reasonably priced. Breakfast was served in our room and was plentiful and fresh. We asked if we could use an iron and immediately we were provided with one. Would definitely recommend and if we return to Ypres this will be our first choice.

Review 51:Fabulous.. Welcoming, friendly owners. The accommodation is within easy reach of the train station and the town centre. We would 100% recommend yoake. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Review 52:Nothing. We didn't want to leave it was that good. Wish we had stayed longer.

Review 53:Everything. This was the nicest accommodation of our European trip. The owner was just wonderful and so was breakfast. Our room was more like a suite, with a separate sitting room including a big TV and a huge rage of channels. The bathroom was delightful. Absolute value for money.

Review 54:The helpfulness of the proprietor who provided advice on restaurants and getting around the town. The room was delightful with a separate dining room where we were served an excellent breakfast

Review 55:Nothing do do with Yoake but I split my Tommy Hilfiger jeans getting out of the car when we arrived !!! Fortunatel (I only had one pair with me) Ypres has some fantastic shopping close by. Did not but another TH pair though

Review 56:Michael and Lisbeth are lovely friendly people who welcommed us as though we were old friends. Their attention to their guests' needs means they deserve their rating

Review 57:The owners are lovely and would have done anything to make one's stay meet expectations. Highly recommended for anyone travelling to Ieper / Ypres.

Review 58:Magnificent facilities and excellent breakfasts, centrally located to Grot Market, In Flanders Fields museum and the Menin Gate. A truly passionate owner working towards a first class establishment.

Review 59:We received a warm welcome and a choice of rooms, both redecorated beautifully after a recent fire. The B & B is a five minute walk to the centre of Ypres and provides an excellent breakfast. Very good value for money.

Review 60:The toilet was a bit cold! The b&b is having major renovation work following a fire and this was our only complaint. We think the owners did a great job of welcoming us and ensuring we had a lovely stay.

Review 61:Lovely big, comfortable room. The welcome was lovely. We were given lots of information on arrival. Breakfast was great, a huge selection!

Review 62:What an achievement after your fire to offer such superb accommodation. Well done to you both, I cannot recommend this B&B enough, delightful and in such a good area. Give it a go you will not be disappointed.

Review 63:The couple who run b&b yoake are absolutely lovely. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. We were in the room at the back of the courtyard, which had a satelite tv (including bbc1 and 2) and a pellet burning stove which kept the room cosy and warm. We ordered breakfast to be delivered to our room at 8am. It was a lovely spread including croissants, bread rolls, jams, cheeses, bacon and scrambled eggs. It was easy to park on the street adjacent to the b&b. The owners recommended a museum and cemetery for us to visit (Paschendale Museum and Tyne Cott Cemetery) both of these we very interesting. In short, b&b Yoake is a great base for a stay in Ieper. It is centally located, the food is good and the owners are lovely.

Review 64:Comfortable and welcoming B&B very close to everything in Ypres. Lovely room with a wood burner, all facilities and a delicious breakfast served in our room.

Review 65:B&B Yoake has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Warm, friendly host and lots of space. It is a lovely place to stay. Easy access to the railway station and to the sights around Ypres.

Review 66:Liesbet even brought two strawberry tarts with a birthday candle when she realised it was my wife's and friends birthdays. Great Breakfast in with price and would recommend the 2Hour Wellness package with the room. Ideally situated for the centre of Ieper with the Cathedral, Bars, restaurants and small one-off shops

Review 67:There was nothing not to like.

Review 68:Everything, from the moment you arrive to the time you leave, you are looked after as royalty. This has to be the best B&B anywhere. Five stars is not enough, certainly made our weekend and will return again.

Review 69:Nothing!

Review 70:Room was a roomy studio with separate sitting area and bedroom. It is bEautifully decorated. Very Tasty breakfast delivered to the room. Owner Michael is friendly and helpful.

Review 71:Nothing. I couldn't fault anything about the Yoake. I would return if ever I go back to Ieper.

Review 72:Its proximity to the Grose Market, Linen Hall, Menin Gate, and a splendid cafe at the corner of Templestraat. The proprietors (Elizabeth and Michael) are exceptionally nice and helpful people.

Review 73:Everything about this place is great. The quality of the room, facilities, location and the hospitality was second to none. Would definitely return. Can't speak highly enough. #greatchoice

Review 74:Nothing we didn't like! The stairs are steep which would be difficult for people with mobility issues.

Review 75:The owners were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful with advice about places to see, where to park, buy things etc The rooms were decorated beautifully and the atmosphere was lovely. The location was really central

Review 76:The B&B: Beautiful rooms, very big and tastefully decorated. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast, including bacon and eggs. The staff: Could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Welcome greeting from the owner, who also offered helpful information about the area. The location: 5 minute walk from the main town square and the Menin Gate. Very convenient.

Review 77:There is not a single thing I can fault. Not one: it's perfect.

Review 78:This is a huge and very elegant apartment ( feels like your own home) in a very convenient location. Michael and Elizabeth are the warmest and most gracious of hosts. They cannot do enough.... the bed pillows and linen are all heaven. There's a huge shower area and the towels are very large and lush. Breakfast was brought by Michael to our own dining table at our chosen time: warm rolls, fresh orange juice, eggs, cheeses, meat and perfect coffee you make in machine at press of button so never cold.... Michael even offered to drive us to Brugges an hour away: our next stop and it was about same cost as two train tickets. Very very kind.Train is on the other side of town so that was welcome. Michael suggested we do a circle walk from the home and we did love that. By the way if you wish to go to Menin Gate for 8pm bugle, a must, turn up before 7 and stand on left side facing the out of town direction. You'll get a view of buglers as well as wreath layers. Enjoy. Spend time in Ypres. It's beautiful!

Review 79:Everything - the owners were incredibly friendly qnd helpful, the rooom was enormous, as was the bqthroom. Breakfasts were superb, all in all , a very happy stqy. Would not hesitqte to reccomend them to anyone!

Review 80:A very, very impressive stay. The room, or almost suite of rooms, was spotless, comfortable and had all we could ask for. The owners were extremely helpful and made us feel more than welcome. We would highly recommended Yoake as a place to stay.

Review 81:We stayed at The Yoake for 4 nights from the 15 September 2014. We had 2 rooms in the courtyard and they were just perfect. There was every facility you could want, immaculately clean, and the breakfasts delivered to our rooms in baskets were incredible! Our hosts Michael and Elizabeth were so attentive and so helpful. Also the price for these rooms was extremely good, cheaper than a low standard B & B in Chertsey, London! We would certainly go back and recommend this place to anyone wanting a brilliant B & B within a few minutes walking distance to all the of the places of interest in Ypres

Review 82:Nothing to dislike!

Review 83:Quiet, spacious, very tasteful and modern with every comfort, gorgeous breakfast in our enormous room and lovely friendly hosts. Thank you . Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 84:Nothing.

Review 85:An excellent little B&B / Boutique Hotel. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home from the start. The room had everything you needed, it was comfortable and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was served at a time of our choosing and prepared to order. You are less than 5 minutes from the centre on foot. If you are heading to Ypres and want somewhere to stay for a reasonable price then B&B Yoake is the place to stay.

Review 86:The fact I could only stay 3 nights.

Review 87:Absolute gem of a place. A warm welcome on arrival with lots of helpful info. Lovely room which was nicely furnished (even a couple of BBC channels to watch) Breakfast was great with more than enough to set you up for the day. Free bicycle hire is a bonus with lots of well marked routes to use. Didn't use the Spa facilities but it looked great. I WILL be returning next year with my wife as this place is perfect.

Review 88:I genuinely can't think of anything I didn't like about this B & B

Review 89:This fabulous B & B is such a great place from which to explore Ieper. It is walking distance to the Menin Gate and Last Post ceremony, the Flanders Field Museum, the Tourist Information Centre, the Cloth Hall and the shops, the city square and the list goes on. Free parking is very close by. Our room was beautiful, big and spacious, light and airy with an elegant, restful decor. The bed was very, very comfortable. The bathroom was nothing short of gorgeous. There were some steep stairs to our room on the first floor but ground floor rooms are available. The breakfast was plentiful, varied and tasty! The hosts went out of their way to be helpful, arranging for a doctor to visit when my husband was unwell, allowing us to check in early and lots of little acts of attention which were very appreciated. This place has a great location, great accommodation and great hosts, you won't do better.

Review 90:Happy with everything

Review 91:Lovely b&b, the owners Micheal and Lisbet could not have been better hosts, the room was lovely and the location was good with plenty of on street parking.

Review 92:Steep stairs to our room was OK for us, but may present problems for some. It may pay tp check room allocated before booking.

Review 93:Location, ambience, beautifully appointed room with a very comfortable bed. A great breakfast and attentive host. Very happy to recommend B&B Yoke to fellow travellers.

Review 94:Nothing .

Review 95:The warm welcome from Miguel along with the lovely designed apartments in an ideal spot for exploring Ypres. The quality of the fitments was excellent with a good breakfast in a nice setting. Will definitely go again next year.

Review 96:Nothing at all

Review 97:Our welcome was wonderful, our host even drove us back to where we had parked the car. We only had difficulty finding Yoake because of roadworks and a town fair! Whilst central to Ypres the location was quiet, breakfast was lovely and we would love to return.

Review 98:The accommodations were a little cool temperature wise but it was getting into fall and it cooled down at night. They had plenty of electric heaters that if it had got really cool we could have turned them on. If you are a light sleeper there are a few early morning delivery trucks that make a bit of noise going down the cobble stone but we are early risers so it was not a problem. The only major difficulty we had was when we arrived by train we could not get a taxi( very few in Ipres we found out later) and we were at a loss on how to get to the location. (Couldnt get our international cell phone to work) ( it is very close to the rail station but Not knowing the city and with a large amount of major construction going on right at the train station we were at a loss of how to find the place ( an older couple saw our distress and offered to drive us to our location.) Booking through booking.com i never knew the owners name ( i thought it was like a small hotel) but once we arrived Micheal (the owner)informed me i should have called him and he could have arranged to pick us up at a city 40 minutes away rather than us taking the train. I only had a email address and at the time and never imagined that there would not be taxi's waiting on a regular basis at a train station. In the description of the services that they provide one could be listed as "transportation can be arranged if prior notice given" ( for a nominal fee if outside of the city)

Review 99:We really liked the spaciousness of the accommodation as it gave us some space to spread out. We gave the owners The time we would like to eat breakfast and they slipped quietly into our eating area and left a wonderful breakfast each day for us --down to having a lit candle on the table every morning ---a very nice touch. They asked if we wanted to change up the menu at any time and they were willing to do that for us. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Review 100:More apartment than b and b with every comfort. Well situated for menin gate and also lovely parkland walks. Breakfast was a feast and very well presented. Our host was warm, friendly and gave us valuable information on the area. Would always be our first choice when next in ypres and would definitely recommend to friends.

Review 101:nothing to dislike!

Review 102:Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Beautifully appointed bedroom and bathroom. Superb, personally prepared breakfast. Very convenient location for town centre and railway station.

Review 103:Rooms excellent. ..breakfast was lovely and served in room Nothing was too much trouble for the owner Gave us lots of good info and tips on where to eat Owner extremely friendly and helpful

Review 104:The mattress felt a little worn in a few spots. A number of vehicles passing by before sunrise woke us. These were minor issues.

Review 105:Our host answered ever email promptly and was very informative when we arrived. We all happily shared a laugh and therefore felt very welcomed. Breakfast was delicious and plentyful. The rooms were large and clean. I will stay here, if & when we return.

Review 106:Nothing, we want to go back again and stay longer. Ieper has much to offer and this is so central.

Review 107:Spacious, modern, quiet room. The breakfast was wonderful, the croissants and bread rolls were exceptional. The friendly owners were a delight to deal with.

Review 108:Very spacious accommodation which was extremely comfortable. Tea and coffee maker in room. Owners only too helpful and served extensive delicious breakfast to room. Spa or pamper treatment available on site if time permits! Only 5 minute walk into the town centre - Ypres is lovely, interesting historical town with rather a lot of one way streets!

Review 109:Very friendly owners made you feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and we were given a lot of info on where to visit. The room was lovely, with a flatscreen tv, and tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was amazing-extremely large! Breakfast was lovely and the attention to detail was second to none! The B&B is in an excellent central location.

Review 110:Absolutely nothing.

Review 111:The friendly welcome and atmosphere. The room was spacious, well decorated, clean and comfortable. Very easy to get into the centre of Ypres. Breakfast was a great start to the day.

Review 112:No door to the amazing bathroom

Review 113:Owners were so kind and helpful Great location for town centre and Menin Gate Breakfast was fab! Huge 6' bed Luxurious bathroom

Review 114:Room was very quiet, clean and breakfast was good. Was within walking distance to the Menin Gate. Free parking was very close by. Hosts were very congenial.

Review 115:The breakfasts were very good. Michael was very helpful and gave us advice on places to visit in Ypres. We would certainly consider returning to stay again and for a few days longer.

Review 116:Needed net curtains at entry and front room windows to ensure privacy

Review 117:Very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble.Spotlessly clean, lovely breakfast.
