Reviews for Recanto da Praia
Review 1:The hotel street is not pretty. Car is needed to go to the old town or most pretty beaches.
Review 2:we had a nice stay! Staff is friendly and solve any problem promptly. I had problems with air conditioning twice, but they replaced the AC immediately. Rooms are clean and pools are nice.
Review 3:Small restaurant is rather disappointing. I would rather eat somewhere else.
Review 4:Nice location, there’s quite, cosy beach. Less busy than historic part. Great pool. Nice garden. Some of the staff can speak english (quite rare in Brazil). Good breakfast.
Review 5:- Quite a walk to the old district of Paraty (around 20-30 minutes) but we took the taxi quite often which costs R$25 or R$30 each way.
Review 6:- The staff are really friendly and helpful. I forgot something when we checked out and it was very easy to organize with them to send it to me by mail. Really friendly and helpful!!! - At each time the reception see us arriving, the staff would meet us halfway to give us our apartment key. Very thoughtful. - The breakfast simple but good and you can request for scrambled eggs which they do well with white cheese. - The swimming pool is very refreshing. - We enjoyed having a small 1-bedroom apartment rather than just a room with a bed.
Review 7:The room was very spacious with kitchen facilities if you wanted to use them and nice cool fridge. The swimming pool and gardens were very pretty and we had a nice balcony where we could sit out and enjoy the view. The property was very quiet. There is a bus into town which runs every 2 hours so not that frequent or else you can walk into Paraty within 20 minutes.
Review 8:location might appear a bit far but its a lovely 20min walk along the beach and up a hill (can be difficult if you´re not too mobile)
Review 9:Very friendly staff, nice facilities with great swimming pool, located in a quiet residential area a stone throw away from the beach
Review 10:The beach near to the pousada is not good. So be prepared to go to other places.
Review 11:It is a perfect place to go with your family. The place has everything you would expect from a pousada. Comfortable room, warm shower, excelent bed, a refreshing swimming pool and a very good breakfast.
Review 12:Wifi not available in room and lots of Mosquitos so be prepared!
Review 13:The scenic views from the pool and hotel were fabulous - really felt like you were on a special holiday! It's a short walk to Jabaquara beach aswell and some cute beach front bars and grills - recommend La Luna restaurant!!! Paraty isn't know for it's beaches but it's still a nice tucked away small beach to relax and feel like you are in a non commercial area!!! Pool was nice - not big but was good size. Had balcony with hammock. The hotel staff were very friendly and the manager was excellent. Breakfast was pretty basic but who cares when you are somewhere beautiful!! A jeep tour to the waterfalls is a must!!! Going into Paraty town - we walked there and it was hot and took us about 20 mins but worth seeing the pretty colonial history part of it! Glad we stayed where we did as no beach in town.
Review 14:Cleanliness could be improved, staff can be quicker in cleaning up tables and picking used utensils from outside the chalets. Mosquitos were a menace. That needs to be looked into.
Review 15:The ambience, The pool, the breakfast, the chalets, the lovely greenery, warm and friendly staff Excellent Chef. The evening restaurant chef was so good, that we dined in the chalets every evening. So that Our kids could play in the pool while we were served dinner.
Review 16:- They ran out of hot water while we were there, so we had to check-out early! - The approach road makes you think you've made a wrong turn, until the gate opens, and you see how pretty it is.
Review 17:- Beautiful, large compound with two large pools and pretty layout. Ideal for people with small kids, as they could run and play in safety (other than the pools, which are not fenced in). - Cute split-level room that slept 4, and had a tv in both rooms, plus a full kitchen with large fridge and 4-burner stove. - 5 minute drive to downtown Paraty - 1 minute walk to the beach with tons of food and drink options
Review 18:Low value for the money
Review 19:Friendly Staff
Review 20:Staff were helpful very pleasant and a pleasure to deal with Loved the stay there.
Review 21:Quiet, clean, beautiful view and a gigantic swimming pool made for awonderful respite after busy days at Paraty. I will return!
Review 22:For the price we paid we expected better breakfast.
Review 23:The small apartment was clean, the staff was very helpful, the pool was excellent.
Review 24:The guys that worked at the hotel were super friendly and helpful!
Review 25:20minute walk to town might be a problem for some people but not us as we preferred to be out of town on the beach.
Review 26:Close to the beach.Nice setting.Great pool.
Review 27:It was quite far from the historical centre although it was only 200 metres from a sandy beach. Internet was intermittent - sometimes not working at all.
Review 28:Really lovely layout with well kept gardens and attractive pool. Rooms were spacious, clean with comfy beds. Staff were very helpful and the breakfasts were good.
Review 29:rooms and furniture not well maintained, mosquitos everywhere shouçd have netting on windows. Vastly overpriced for the low quality like many apartments etc in Brasil.
Review 30:staff try hard
Review 31:In general we were very satisfied, but some comments that might help to improve: - The swimingpool could be cleaned more often, specially because it is used a lot by kids. The breakfest room had a lot of ants, some work should be done in this regard.
Review 32:Very good service offerede by the personal, which makes a big difference. The chalés are confortable.
Review 33:Third bed too small for adult, ceiling fan didn't work in living room but they did donate a fan which was nice. The area is a bit run down outside the place. It's perfectly safe, but a bit rough aroun the edges. Few signs so difficult to find.
Review 34:Staff, pool, apt
Review 35:The bed!! Not very comfortable. Air con. Very Noisy Booking.com's letter of confirmation saying we would pay the hotel in local currency. We made arrangements to withdraw cash for this purpose and, because of local banking habits, we had to make two trips into Paraty for this purpose. On checkout we found that the bill had already been paid via our original online booking. Very confusing and a lot of time wasted.
Review 36:Reception staff excellent. Garden layout very attractive. Pool good. Proximity to local beach - excellent.
Review 37:The staff has very little to no knowledge of English however they are very honest and nice.
Review 38:The Chale is located in Jabaquara an area around 20 minutes walking from the historical center. It's nice if you plan to go to the beach and do a set of tours (Paraty Explorer is very close by). The walk to the historical center is a bit dark at night however we never felt unsafe in Paraty. All in all this is a really nice place and we would recommend it.
Review 39:Loved it all. Staff was extremely responsive so I'm sure if we had an issue, they would have fixed it. Great place. Would definitely return.
Review 40:The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond... we ordered pizza for delivery and were told it would take an hour to get the food. The staff on duty drove his own car to pick it up for us so that we would get it sooner. Volunteered! Great English. Clean rooms. Fabulous (and clean) pool. We travelled with four children under the age of 6 and they all loved it.
Review 41:Our family (two adults, children 12 and 14) loved everything about the place, but you need to appreciate quite rural surroundings and the beach and the bars are simple and a bit shabby. If you expect a conventional idyll and much facilities this area is not the right thing.
Review 42:Friendley, helpful, englishspeaking staff. Clean and simple apartments. Lots of small bars at the beach nearby. Must love dogs - you never walk far before you get company by friendley creatures. Nice walk to the historic centre, but takes a good twenty minutes by pied.
Review 43:Too many mosquitoes, it could be a good idea to put green lights also nearby the rooms and bungalows.
Review 44:Really nice garden full of flowers and vegetation, great swimming pool, clean and nice rooms, good breakfast, good location, friendly staff
Review 45:The beach is not as nice as say in Trindade. Had to go to on the boat trips almost every day to get to nice beaches. Other than that perfect holiday.
Review 46:Friendliness of staff was exceptional, went out of their way to help in any way possible.
Review 47:A big room is split into bedroom, living room and a kitchenette. So the suites are very cramped with the furniture.
Review 48:Swimming pool...
Review 49:The hotel restaurant is running by someone else other than the hotel owners. The food is very yummy but a bit pricey.
Review 50:We loved every single moment.
Review 51:Quit, safe for children, good breakfast, many amenities
Review 52:Slightly noisy
Review 53:Garden pool closeness to beach
Review 54:Entrance gate road is dirty.
Review 55:Kind
Review 56:Not located on the actual beach.
Review 57:Wonderful stay, most fantastic and flexible staff, beautiful place, calm and all in all a VERY nice stay.
Review 58:Hidden away in Jabaquara
Review 59:Neat little apartment with a fully equipped kitchen. 2 nice pools to bathe in.
