Reviews for Titania Hotel
Review 1:Room was old and in much need of a refurbish. Bath plug hole blocked and bathroom extremely worn out. The standard rooms definitely need bringing up to date and to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Wardrobes old and damaged. Could also hear everything in the room next door. Bad smell in the corridors and carpets very dirty in the halls.
Review 2:Good Location, Nice Lobby and Bar, reception very helpful and polite.
Review 3:Breakfast room too crowded and noisy on account of a large number of school pupils staying at the hotel.
Review 4:Very conveniently placed with regard to my business-related location
Review 5:Details of fiitings not well looked after (hunger in the bathroom was loose and fall off during normal usage), TV signal was shaking
Review 6:Location (acropolis view + centrally situted), meeting and dining places for all requirements
Review 7:the bathroom needs renotation urgently and the room is not at all soundproof. it does not reflect the first impesion with the lobby.Due to our neighbours we slept only a couple of hours. taking all this into consideration it was not good value for the money spent.
Review 8:situated centrally with a nice lobby!
Review 9:Couldn't find anything we didn't like
Review 10:The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and the mattress was like sleeping in the clouds. Great breakfast and the Olive Garden Restaurant was really great as well. The gym was nice as well. Money well spent. Highly reccomend
Review 11:Too expensive. I choose that hotel because I didn't know the city and position was good, but other colleagues found better rooms for half of the price.
Review 12:Perfect Position Amazing Breakfast
Review 13:No wifi in rooms. No wifi password provided upon check-in. Rooms are NOT soundproof.
Review 14:Excellent customer service and comfortable stay! Large breakfast selection included with stay. Very nice room.
Review 15:There is no free wifi in the rooms. You have to go to lobby. İt is business hotel howcome they dont have free wifi in the rooms.the rooms are old designed
Review 16:İt is in the central
Review 17:It is really in need of an upgrade. Hall carpets were stained, furniture in our suite was dirty, black mold between shower and sink, plumbing was poor. Our shower backed up.
Review 18:We had a suite with a view of Acropolis. Not much of a view as promised. Buildings were in the way. Roof top restaurant had a great view.
Review 19:We had booked two rooms, the 2nd room smelt of mould/sewarage and they didnt move my mother and cousin until the next day. The curtain rod had fallen down as well. The hotel rooms need a good refurbishment as they are quite old now.
Review 20:The Location of the hotel is excellent, only a few minutes walk to the center, to syntagma, monastiraki, psiri, plaka the shops and all the attractions. The roofgarden restaurant and cafe had an amazing view of the parthenon. The staff were friendly.
Review 21:The price , but that's the same issue for any working man solo traveller !
Review 22:The rooftop garden is a breathtaking place of comfort to enjoy the night time view of the Acropolis.
Review 23:Internet is not in the Rooms . you have to pay for the internet and for only one device . prefer that rates to be inclusive of Internet
Review 24:location is great -very closed in a walking distance to most of attractions like Omonia square - Syntagma square -plaka and Acropolis
Review 25:Dated and worn decoration and furnishings
Review 26:Very good value for money, and the location was perfect for us - we had to travel by bus early next morning and the hotel is a short walk from the bus station
Review 27:Very dated hotel. Rooms were very old and really needing an update. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable. 12 euros for wi-fi is also a bit of a joke, especially considering how poor the connection is.
Review 28:Location is good; close to the Metro and shopping.
Review 29:This hotel was gorgeous and we were very lucky to get a last minute deal. Breakfast was amazing and the dinner at the rooftop restaurant was fabulous! I reccomend the watermelon and feta soup, yum!!! The view of the acropolis from the rooftop is a must see!!!
Review 30:had to pay for wifi in room and wifi reception was very poor In the lobby. Disappointed that I had to pay 9 euro for two coffees at the top level for the view.
Review 31:Staff were great, breakfast was terrific. Amazing views from the top level.
Review 32:very dirty room the air condition put water and it was broken the room was close to building air vents ant have very noise they change the room but not have room with 1 double bed....
Review 33:I could not connect with free wifi in the lobby : too complicated. In the corridors of the 9th floor, the floor is dirty sometimes. Room needs refresh. A little far from the center.
Review 34:The reception is beautiful.
Review 35:Like someone said before, it's 4 stars hotel with 3 stars rooms. The bedrooms are small, showers awkward to use and a little slippery. The top floor restaurant/pool were closed for renovation which was too bad because of the beautiful view on the city and monuments. Overall however the price was rigth and we felt that definitly got our money's worth. Would stay there again.
Review 36:We loved the location, got on hop on/off on the same street, it was a short walk to where we liked to go. Lobby is enormous and looks very nice, staff is very helpful, (Tks Stella for printing our boarding pass!). One barman was specially alert and spotted a counterfeit bill, he took it out of circualtion right away. We loved the large breakfast buffet.
Review 37:The paid WiFi was a bit slow. The "Gym" was a broken elliptical machine and a few mismatched dumbbells.
Review 38:The staff were incredibly friendly, the complimentary breakfast was massively robust, and the rooms were really nice.
Review 39:The advertising photos give the impression that the hotel is nicer than it is. The lobby looks very nice, but the room was very tired and we only had a wall and some pipes for a view. Because the hotel was quite large, breakfast was busy and noisy and generally not a pleasant experience. The wi-fi was 5 euros for an hour which is extortionate, especially for a four star hotel.
Review 40:The rooftop restaurant and bar was lovely and the view was fantastic. The hotel is in a convenient location for tourist attractions and restaurants.
Review 41:None. I just enjoyed my short stay.
Review 42:The Roof Top restaurant at night with the view of the Acropolis was simply magical. Room was very good for the price and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
Review 43:I booked a room in a four star hotel that was on promotional offer. I found myself in a room equivalent to a two star hotel similar to a two star hotel in former Eastern European countries
Review 44:I was stuffy not aerated coridor, plastic picnic cups not permited in a four star, unconfortable pillows, very noisy breakfast sala, similar to a cantina. Can hear all noises from other rooms. No wifi, and have to pay 1EU if you use the scale for luggage. Shame!
Review 45:I DO NOT LIKE TO HAVE THE AIR CONDITION AND ON THE BED TO HAVE WINTER QUILT....EITHER YOU FEEL COLD OR VERY HOT. A SIMPLE SHEET IS EXCELLENT. NOTHING MORE.
Review 46:THE LOCATION IS VERY GOOD AND THE ROOMS ARE VERY CLEAN.
Review 47:Family rooms with windows looking into the building next to the hotel not more than few meters away - very claustrophobic, not possible to open the windows. Strange noises on the floor during the night coming from AC or some other technical unit. AC difficult to control.
Review 48:Pleasant stuff
Review 49:No wifi in the rooms and quite noisy. I ordered chicken herb fillet but it was undercooked.
Review 50:The location is very good, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food is good and not as expensive as you think.
Review 51:Furniture was a little outdated but that didn't really bother us as it was all clean and still functional
Review 52:The staff were excellent! The location was great and walking distance to most things - if you want to travel further there are two metro stops very closely! Breakfast was also really good with heaps of options!
Review 53:Roof wasn't open This is a view hotel. Charged for two rooms because of children. Double charged. Bed small when asked online requested two queen beds Two person maximum per room. Room small.
Review 54:Will definitely get better when roof top is compete. Hopefully they wil get it right as such spot and make it special to complement.
Review 55:Value and cleanliness and space.
Review 56:Need a top sheet for Bed for when it's hot extra pillows would've nice. No notification roof terrace was closed till we checked in
Review 57:Breakfast excellent. Staff very helpful in changing booking. Will stay again, thank you.
Review 58:There wasn't free wifi in guest rooms and the mattress felt cheap, they were too thin and you could feel the springs in some areas.
Review 59:Good location with a pretty lobby. There was also a huge variety to choose from for breakfast! Rooms were fine, good air-conditioning.
Review 60:Large hotel accommodates a lot of guests but lacks attention to detail to meet specific needs of individual guests. Hotel staff not overly helpful.
Review 61:excellent central location. Good breakfast and free wifi in foyer.
Review 62:Wi Fi expensive and free Wi Finin the Lobby not always satisfactory .
Review 63:Excellent breakfast with a great choice of fresh food .good location for tour pick ups Taxi available outside the hotel at all times.
Review 64:I worked almost 10 hours per day- in Athens and during difficult times. I have some understanding - but I do not live in Greece.I found it disrespectful, when on my last day I went to have my coffee and as took my breakfast to my room- I felt the hands of one of the people, taking count of the rooms/people for breakfast,- taking my coffee and plate from my hands- early in the morning and before I was starting my last work day in Athens. I understand that there is stress in Athens, but some of us are there also working and this was not the best way to start my work day. Applying judgement and respectful boundaries. always helps. In the event I did something wrong - this could have been handled in a respectful way. Physically taking my morning breakfast away from me felt very disrespectful. I was not impressed at how this was handled..Perhaps this is small and insignificant in Greece, but to the receiver, - it did not feel good. I understand that Greece has much bigger issues and I am very sorry.I will not return and or recommend your hotel again.
Review 65:I found the people working the front desk very helpful, polite, and professional. Excellent front desk reception etc ,and nice team of people.
Review 66:Rooms were run down , tired and didn't look clean. Breakfast was like a cattle market. The room overlookec an air conditioning shaft which was noisy all night.
Review 67:Nice lobby and bar area
Review 68:The family room was extremely overpriced, the room was very basic, the ceiling had holes and was falling in, the view was walls and cigarette butts, yet we paid for a 4 star hotel. We did not.get what we paid for.
Review 69:Top floor was closed for renovation which they didn't mention when we booked as main reason for booking was that We were highly disappointed Second there were mosquitoes in room
Review 70:Breakfast is nice Wifi is good in lobby Location is nice
Review 71:It wasn't the best choice for us as a young couple--this hotel is more appropriate for traveling in a big group. We felt like tiny cogs in a big tourism machine.
Review 72:The room was extremely comfortable and well-equipped.
Review 73:The rooms were a little bit of a let down after the grand entrance. Well decorated but the furniture a little tired. The rooftop restaurant was closed for refurbishment which was disappointing as was having to pay for Wi-Fi.
Review 74:The entrance was very grand and the breakfast excellent
Review 75:Unfortunately, the rooftop restaurant was closed for renovations.
Review 76:I was traveling with my 4 adult children, and the room I booked for them was great. Two separate rooms with a shared bath, while my husband and I had a standard room nearby. The breakfast is substantial and served in a nice dining area. Great views from the rooftop restaurant.
Review 77:Room was ill represented through website. Also the Restaurant (with the Acropolis view) was under construction! Which wasn't made clear by staff. That was the main reason to stay there.
Review 78:Location and staff
Review 79:We asked for an information about some restaurants we had recommended and we were advised to go to another restaurant, much more expensive and with a poor quality. We were not previously informed about the prices. At the end, we were not happy with the service.
Review 80:Good location and breakfast. A small breakfast is available for earlier check-out.
Review 81:Facility kinda old. Cockroach on the ceiling, horrible. Loud construction noise inside the hotel at 23-24 pm!!!Staff said it's due to the meeting preparation for the next day, luckily it stopped after the call. No free Wifi.
Review 82:location is good, price is good. Staff is good. Breakfast is good.
Review 83:Very noisy, always woke up in the morning by sounds. Renovations on 10th and 11th floor or furniture being dragged on floor above. Could not rest
Review 84:Breakfast, Location
Review 85:Paid wifi in rooms only free internet at reception. the terrace was under construction so we didn't get the chance to enjoy it.
Review 86:Location is excellent value for money good hospitality and cleanliness.
Review 87:It is over-priced. The pictures on the hotel Web are very midleading. The facility is old and poor. It is not even up to a 3* hotel standard. We had a group of about 60 people staying in the hotel; and almost 90%of us complained about the hotel. One said "this is not a hotel forhumans!"
Review 88:Some staff are friendly.
Review 89:We had originally booked a standard room which was not what we expected - very small, dark dated. We paid for an upgrade to a superior room. Front facing window made a massive difference to the light into the room, the room was a little larger and bed was more comfortable. Definitely recommend not going for a standard room option at this hotel. The hotel is in a convenient location and everything is easily accesible, however, it's not the most glamorous part of Athens. Still we spent the weekend there and enjoyed our stay.
Review 90:The hotel was clean, breakfast facilities were very good, location was within easy access to Metro where the rest of Athens is accessible. The staff on the whole were helpful.
Review 91:We chose this hotel partly because of the rooftop restaurant with a view of the Acropolis - only to find out that it was under reconstruction, and open only for lunch. Also don't like sleeping under comforters. Why can't hotels provide a simple sheet for warm sleepers?
Review 92:Very good facilities in nice location
Review 93:wifi was very expensive: wifi in room is expected these days Room not soundproofed: extremely noisy eg furniture scraping, people shouting, elevators beeping 24/7 No natural daylight in the room Bed was not a double as requested but two singles pushed together Bathroom layout was very awkward and bath did not drain Hotel smelt of tobacco everywhere even in non smoking parts Room cleaning was not thorough Tired decor
Review 94:comfy beds Staff pleasant and helpful Central location Breakfast
Review 95:The hotel is tired and tatty looking - the room was ok as was the bathroom but the finishing touches were missing. We travelled around Greece staying in four hotels in total- this was the only hotel not to offer complimentary WiFi and free water in the room. Also, the quality of the bathroom toiletries was low - not the end of the world but it speaks to the overall experience we had. The most irritating thing was the hoovering that started at 8 am on a Sunday morning and the fact that staff entered our room three time early on a Sunday morning despite it being our last day (couldn't they wait until we checked out to restock the overpriced minibar we hadn't touched or give us fresh towels we didn't need?!) - the knock was so cursory that we barely had time to yell "no thank you" before they came waltzing in! The fact we had a special deal made the room rate reasonable - if we had paid full price we would have been considerably less happy with the experience.
Review 96:The hotel is central - you can walk or take a short cab ride to most tourist areas. The reception staff were helpful and polite.
Review 97:The room definitely needs furnishing. The comfort and furniture in the room doesn't reflect the lobby. The corridors were smelling as carpets seemed to be laid for many years.
Review 98:The entrance The lobby The staff The location
Review 99:The room was a bit warm and we couldn't easily adjust the temperature. Pillows were a little thick but they changed them upon our request.
Review 100:The location is great, right in the center of Athens, with easy access to all modes of transportation. The breakfast was very generous and had something for everyone. They had free slippers for our use in the room.
Review 101:I think it would be more suitable to offer Wifi in the rooms for free.
Review 102:The hotel was beautiful and the staff was super helpful and friendly. The bar at the top floor is definitely worth visiting.
Review 103:The rooms are quite small (especially the bathroom) and need renovation. You have to pay for the wifi. The sound insulation of the rooms is terrible, for internal and external sounds.
Review 104:The hotel is located 200m from Omonia square. The lobby is big, the variety of the breakfast is adequate.
Review 105:The room was very average. Bed wasn't very comfortable, the whole bathroom area was very bad(Get your own towels). Ventilation system is very average.
Review 106:Very good location. Nice bar and restaurant. Very nice hospitality from the Staff.
Review 107:The room looked nothing like the pictures. It was dank, dingy, smelled of mold and wasn't very clean. We were extremely disappointed as the lobby area gives you the impression the hotel is very high quality. Room didn't match. With all the great reviews I wonder if they are remodeling this hotel or if other rooms are better. We were very unhappy but as we were there only one night didn't ask for a different room. Even so I felt deceived and will never consider staying here again.
Review 108:The price was reasonable. The lobby was beautiful. Breakfast spread was great.
Review 109:Very crowded , Mo place for meeting friends or business people at lobby , expensive , WiFi should be included
Review 110:Top floor restaurant , breakfast was good
Review 111:The two mattresses on the king size bed kept separating suggest they put the mattresses width wise not length wise
Review 112:The location is tremendous & the staff very friendly
Review 113:The 7th floor was a disaster !!!. The room temp was unbearable. Windows could not be opened. After several phone calls to Reception, finally a staff member come to our room and told us that the air conditioner control was set incorrectly. There were no instructions on the control and several settings were tried without any changes in the temperature. We noticed other rooms on the same floor had their doors open to let in cooler air. Finally the management offered a room on the 6th floor with a opening Window that would open and allow fresh air into the room because it had the same problem. We had to relocate all the luggage ourselves from floor 7 to floor 6. On our second day the air con finally worked. Most hotels offer free WIFI. Charges at this hotel were excessive. We were not offered any discount. Very unprofessional. We doubt if we would stay here again.
Review 114:Location was good and staff friendly,
Review 115:Free WiFi is terrible Very noisy rooms Old fashioned, dark rooms Dark corridors Not so comfortable reception/bar area
Review 116:Location Roof garden bar Staff
Review 117:the shower in the bath is very very dangerous for an old man like me !!! if i loose my balance injury will surely happen ! so please put showers in your bathrooms !!!
Review 118:very good entrance !!!
Review 119:Bad odors in spreading to sleeping room. Tedious elevators. Venial gouging. Noisylobby filled with budget travelers traveling in mobs Overall, no charm
Review 120:Pretty good breakfst Helpful staff.
Review 121:-room stinks - dirty bathroom - dirty sheets - ceiling of bathroom is peeling off - cold wooden floor - no slipper provided - wifi in the lobby is only accessible once, every 24 hrs
Review 122:fancy lobby
Review 123:The service at the front desk is very polite and very efficient. The breakfest was exelent !The hotel provided us an early breakfest even thau we left very erly.
Review 124:Cons: paid for two rooms but shared a bathroom (other comparably priced hotels offered two separate bathrooms); had to pay for wi-fi and only permitted access for two devices; the shower drain was a bit stopped up; location is in a grittier part of the city.
Review 125:Pros: great breakfast, staff facilitated early check-in; quiet location but within walking distance of many attractions as well as the subway.
Review 126:I've stayed at the hotel for one night before travelling to Poros. Therefore I chose the hotel for it's location (near the port) as I've did earlier. On the other hand, the breakfast is great.
Review 127:Lack of wifi and iron Shower poor curtain very grubby Lack double bed two singles together for couple not great. Asked specifically for double
Review 128:Location and food
Review 129:It needs some good renovation. Most of the furniture, linen and bathroom are too old and not well maintained.
Review 130:Location, staff, breakfast, the roof garden, all are very nice.
Review 131:Telephoned the hotel three times on afternoon of arrival. Cut off twice. Finally spoke to reception after 6.30.p.m. And explained we would be arriving after 10p.m.Reception told me that was fine and we would be welcome. On arrival after 11p.m. I asked where to park as we had booked parking. Reception told me that we had to drive to another hotel . The room available was unsuitable.I explained I had rung three times to confirm we were coming.Nobody offered an explanation. We refused to drive and the hotel booked a taxi to take us to the Crowne Plaza where we arrived exhausted at 12.20.a.m. Do guests who confirm the booking on the day arrive to discover no accommodation? Why did nobody alert us to the situation when I telephoned or phone me back.? We did ask to speak to the duty manager who seemed unconcerned.
Review 132:Not able to judge. However we do have friends in Athens and will suggest they recommend other hotels in Athens. It was a disgrace how we were treated.
Review 133:The description is inaccurate. The rooms are not sound proofed and i got woken up once by the people in the room next door shouting at 2am and once by the cleaners shouting in the coridor at 8:30am
Review 134:As i was a solo traveller, I got a triple room for the price of a single. The staff were excellent, very friendly and very helpful and great location and view from the Olive Garden
Review 135:Not the best location for restaurants and its menu did not appeal to us.
Review 136:Great location for easy metro service for port. Only stayed 10 hours. Offer limited breakfast from 4am for early departures.
Review 137:Wifi is slow when everyone is using it. I waited a few days to contact my family, then I couldn't use it because it was Saturday night. The gym isn't open early enough if you like to rise and shine. You have to ask to use it, and it could take awhile to get the paperwork ready. Otherwise, super hotel.
Review 138:The staff, the food, the restaurants, very clean hotel
Review 139:WiFi is not free, and is rather expensive.
Review 140:Beautiful lobby, excellent food (and not expensive too) at the Brassiere Café, fantastic view of the restaurant at the top. Excellent localization at Panestemiou Avenue, near two Metro stations and you can go walking to Syntagma Square. It is also in the hop-on hop-off Red Bus route (inexpensive way of moving around for two consecutive days)
Review 141:Room was not renovated it looked very old and used. Scratched furniture and doors. No view except the inside walls of the hotel at 2feet distance. Beds small and not comfortable. I guess the renovated rooms are better.
Review 142:Location, breakfast, staff
Review 143:Nothing than we want to stay more..
Review 144:I went with my wife to titania hotel for one night in our way to santorini island.. It was pretty good for that purpose.. The room is good and breakfast was amazing.. We enjoied out stay thier .. I recomemed it for greece visitors..
