Reviews for Hostel das Estrelas
Review 1:nothing really
Review 2:Very friendly owners, great breakfast and very helpful with organisation of the day trips. You can really feel that the owners care about the people. Everything from the booking until leaving was great.
Review 3:This was a lovely little hostel, at the top end of town. Nice clean rooms, good breakfast and very nice staff. When we were looking for another hostel (to book a trip through) at night we couldn't find it, so Lindi kindly took us all the way there, which was really nice of her! There is a nice communal area too where you can relax in a hammock, we had a game of cards on the balcony with a bottle of wine!
Review 4:Breakfast was amazing! Definitely the best breakfast we had during our trip in Brazil (and healthy Too)! The owner Eline also helped us with every request we had, she was extremely friendly and helpful!
Review 5:The only negative thing about this hostel: from the city centre you need to walk a little bit uphill until you arrive. However, aren´t you in Chapada Diamantina for exactly this reason? ;-)
Review 6:The breakfast was just great: homemade cakes and lots of fruit. Moreover, the owners were very helpful and dedicated to their guests´ well-being. Besides, there are some hammocks to relax after a long day of trekking.
Review 7:Roosters can get really noisy at night. The location at the top of the hill could be a challenge if you are not in good physical condition. The windows are wooden shutters.
Review 8:The owners are fantastic people. Extremely helpful with any recommendations and bookings. She also speaks excellent English. Lencois is a total delight.
Review 9:We missed having air conditioner. The hostel is close to downtown but you need to go further up the mountain, without a car you might get tired.
Review 10:The staff was really friendly and gave us recommendations about what to do. The room was comfortable. Home made breakfast was nice.
Review 11:Lovely stay at Hostel das Estrelas. Eline and Raquel are wonderful hostesses who will make you feel at home right when you pass through their door. Eline speaks perfect English, which is definitely a plus for travellers visiting Brazil without knowing any Portuguese. The breakfast is great and Eline and Raquel will nicely prepare it in advance if you need to leave earlier than normal breakfast time. Eline even helped us organise our transfer to Barreirinhas, which helped us a lot. Thank you so much for everything!
Review 12:The staff couldn't be nicer, the breakfast was delicious and homemade! The owners helped us in every request we made including changing dates because of the tour agency, taking shower after check out, etc. The place is simple and really cozy just a perfect fit while travelling in Chapada! Well done girls, thanks a lot! Kind regards from Camila & Jack.
Review 13:Bring some earplugs! The hostel rooms themselves pretty noise-proof to the rooms adjacent, but at night there are lots of roosters around the city and they have a fun call and response hour around 00:00 and again at 03:00 until around 07:00.
Review 14:Hostel das Estrelas is fantastic and deserves its extraordinarily high rating. I stayed here for almost a week- in Lençóis you will not find a better place to stay! Raquel and Eline, the owner/operators, have put their heart and soul into creating a beautiful hostel where you can relax and feel safe leaving your belongings while out on a multi-day trek or just a day tour. There are no street numbers in Lençóis so you cannot look the location up easily online. DO NOT rely on Google maps, although if you just ask anyone on the street for the hostel of Raquel and Eline or Hostel das Estrelas they likely know the ladies/the hostel and can tell you or just show you how to get there. To get here from the bus station: walk along the main road to the footbridge going over the river, turn RIGHT and walk across the bridge, stay to your right which will open up almost immediately to the main square (with the Banco do Brasil, Correio, and several restaurants), walk STRAIGHT through the main square and head up the street - this opens up to another small plaza with a gazebo, keep walking STRAIGHT up the hill towards a big hotel, follow the road slightly to the LEFT then head RIGHT to keep going up the hill, you will pass a school on the left, then take the first LEFT which is a short walk (still going uphill... if you miss this left turn you will pass a water treatment plant on the right, you've gone too far), then follow the road as it turns LEFT again (downhill), and at the bottom of the short block, you will see Hotel das Estrelas on the LEFT. It should take 10-15 minutes depending on your ability and how heavy your bags are. It is directly across from a bright yellow house and has a sign outside with its name. If you reach a small plaza with a big tree and the road narrows considerably you have gone too far.
Review 15:Raquel and Eline made our stay in Lençóis really unique. They will make you feel like home, provide a warm welcome and an absolutely delicious Brazilian breakfast. Full of advice, they help us discover the city and its surroundings. Our experience in the Chapada Diamantina would not have been the same without them. Thank you so much.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and we would defenitely recommend this place. The hostel is 5-10 min by foot from the center. The rooms are simple but clean. The owners of the hostel are very helpful (they picked us up at the bus stop when we arrived and helped us book our tours). They also prepare a delicious breakfast every morning.
Review 18:A bit of a "climb" up hill from town. But not too bad.
Review 19:The staff is super friendly and forthcoming. They accommodate any request with a great attitude! The breakfast is pure magic. Everything is really clean and nice! We loved staying here.
Review 20:Wonderful staff very friendly and helpful. Awesom fresh breakfast every day. Very homely and clean. Wish we stayed longer. They even let us hang out untill 9pm before we caught the bus and minded our backpacks for the day while we went on a tour after checking out. Would love to stay again. Thanks again :)
Review 21:A new hostel that just opend it's doors in June. It's run by two young ladies. One speaks very good English and the other one is a marvellous cook. A handy combination. They will serve you the best breakfast in Brazil! The hostel is a short (up hill) walk from the city center. The bedrooms are basic but clean. A good place to stay in beautiful Lençois.
