Reviews for Auberge Grill Le Freyr

Review 1:Room looked different than on the pics, was outside the main buildings, looked more like a garden house

Review 2:Restaurant with goood food, breakfast at a good rate.

Review 3:the service at dinner could have been a bit better but that was the charm of the place

Review 4:Friendly staff, although language barrier made for some interesting conversations. the hotel itself was comfortable and clean and in a great location

Review 5:Wifi only in restaurant, not in rooms. Staff were not very helpful and charged extra for a map but only said this in an email after we left, not at time of giving it to us! Difficult to get to - buses only every 2 hours or so from Anseremme, or about 40min walk on main/side roads. Does not open between 11am and 4.30pm.

Review 6:Nice views and simple comfortable rooms

Review 7:- Seems the staff were bothered by speaking English. Make sure you know some French. - Restaurant was very noisy until late into the night. If you're a light sleeper/early-to-bed type this will bother you. - The food I was given gave me food poisoning. The fries were old and cold. - Wi-Fi didn't really work.

Review 8:- Clean, well-put-together room. - Yummy food from attached restaurant. - Staff allowed me to have dinner even though I arrived 30 minutes after they stopped serving. However.... (see cons section)

Review 9:Hated the 1950's bathroom. Needs a bit of money spending on it.quiet settiing

Review 10:Convenient for Dinant. Quiet, set in country. The restraint was modern and stylish. Very good food.

Review 11:The room was pretty basic and the smoke detector squeaked all night

Review 12:The owner provided a free plate of cold meat & cheese when I arrived after the restaurant closed. I love it that this place, off the beaten track, is probably full or nearly full every night and would no doubt find it difficult to attract business if it were not for being on Booking.com. I booked it purely because it was one of very few places close to my route that was showing as having availability. The owner should be very thankful he chose to be a partner hotel.

Review 13:You need to have a rental car..far to town and public transportation, Call before you show for checking , owners are there morning before 11 AM and after 6PM...between you need to seat out side if you do not call before showing up...

Review 14:Very friendly owner with hand on deck... Great breakfast Great grill, the chef is very good Beautiful decors and very clean, we saw many local repeat customers

Review 15:This was an old fashioned hotel and did not have duvets on the beds so be prepared for blankets and sheets. Also many continental hotels do not have facilities for tea or coffee making and this one didn't.

Review 16:I am disabled and was travelling with my husband and daughter and son-in-law. My daughter had a double room in the main building and said it was very well decorated and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. As I cannot manage stairs we had a downstairs room opening on to the garden with chairs outside . It was very picturesque. The room was a bit dowdy and the bathroom fine for disabled people but basic and the shower not accessible. The evening meal was acceptable.

Review 17:Total lack of welcome: 2 male staff barely smiled at us and the female who showed us to our room told us we should not have come until 16.30 (it was 14.00) We explained that we'd just like to leave our cases, but she wasn't interested. We both speak fluent French, so no problem of communication. We would have had lunch there but were not invited to do so. We had an evening meal on first night (fairly expensive grills)but several options were not available, as they were to close at the weekend. We chose to eat elsewhere on night 2. Stairs to room were steep, narrow and wooden - very dangerous with cases. Separate toilet had no extractor or window. Nobody took nay interest in us at all and the chef seemed quite displeased that we didn't eat there on 2nd night. Breakfast juice from machine was fizzy......

Review 18:Room fairly spacious and bed comfortable. Large bathroom and plenty of hot water. Luckily at the back or the road noise may have been too much. Breakfast adequate but nobody there to talk to us as all drinks were from machine.

Review 19:Bed-room smelt damp on arrival.

Review 20:Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent burgerlisch cuisine. Excellent base for visiting Namur, Dinant, Meuse Valley and for motor-cycling

Review 21:Its a nice place if you like it quiet and enjoy looking at green in the morning. The rooms are clean and big. We also liked the restaurant and the bar with different sorts of beer.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Very clean and comfortable room. Excellent bathroom. Breakfasts are adequate and the Proprietor/Chef runs a very good restaurant which is popular with the locals - always a good sign

Review 24:Information time of breakfast,communication

Review 25:View

Review 26:It was good to have direct access to outside as my friend was travelling with 2 dogs.

Review 27:Room was a little dated. Only spook french.

Review 34:Nothing comes to mind.

Review 35:The room was spacious, well- furnished and attractively modern and visibly decorated. The food was superb and worth every penny.

Review 36:The out of town location suited us

Review 37:Waiter was a bit rude - he would not allow us to order wine before we ordered food. The meal was excellent though and breakfast was good.

Review 38:Very helpful owner, excellent food and good beer.

Review 39:Staff: They didn't speak English and the communication was limited. The price was too high for low season,( not even in the city center) without breakfast.

Review 40:Located in countryside close to the nature, spacious room

Review 41:There is only one mirror in the bathroom. We were two girls and had tha lack of one more mirror :)

Review 42:I was surprised by the comfort of the hotel. Very large rooms, cosy, with all modern conveniences. Huge bathroom even with the window! The heaters are both in the room and in the bathroom! Huge wardrobes, the fireplace! Excellent interior in the restaurant, delicious food. Thank you for the nice time.

Review 43:The pictures are misleading. The room stuff and bathroom are far olderthan what is shown in the hotel pictures. The staff can hardly speak inEnglish. Breakfast was poor, no egg, 1 type of bread and a fewcroissants.

Review 44:Clean and big room.

Review 45:Bit out of the way, but not too far from Dinant. Not being able to book in until after 4.30pm
