Review 4:Perfect location - so close to everything Great room - spacious, loved the balcony Friendly staff Quiet

Review 5:When booking his hotel make sure you specify you want to be in the hotel in the picture on the street and not an apartment behind the hotel with no view. Facilities were nothing like the pictures and bed was extremely hard. Did not sleep.

Review 6:Breakfast

Review 7:Location was great. It s really near of the train station. We stayed at Bellevue which is very close to the hotel. We are with a baby so to have the breakfast we need to put the winter closes in our baby that can bother a little.

Review 10:Staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Services were exceptional. Location is great. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast and dinner were great. We will be back to stay at the hotel again.

Review 11:appalling value for money. I know that zermatt at Christmas is expensive but $340 Swiss francs for 1 night in a tiny, dated room was outrageous. Bed very low to ground and uncomfortable. No kettle in room. Tiny balcony.

Review 13:Nothing.

Review 14:Another large room for three adults. Great view of the Matterhorn when it could be seen. Breakfast was great. This is one of the places we stayed at on our 3 week vacation that we will definitely be returning to.

Review 15:Minor Point :- The power outlets are not the normal european roundsockets. They are the smaller Swiss diamond shaped sockets, but you canborrow an adapter from the hotel.

Review 16:Well located for the train station'S. We were in the annex. The roomwasn't very large but ok for a two day stay. We had no complaints

Review 55:Quite expensive

Review 56:Breakfast especially croissant and bakery . Spacious room and very clean.

Review 57:If they had a bar it would have been a bonus, but otherwise nothing to fault

Review 58:Only a 5 min walk to the cable car and close to all bars and restaurants

Review 59:Location Cuisine Great rooms Quiet

Review 60:Nothing

Review 61:Breakfast average - continental

Review 62:handy to train station, restaurants and most tourist attractions

Review 63:Nothing, it was great.

Review 64:Clean, quiet, comfortable bed, great shower. What more can one ask for?

Review 65:The hotel looks quite tired. The bed mattress is too soft. Cleanliness needs to be improved. Restaurant staff during breakfast time was not friendly.

Review 66:Location is close to train station and shopping area. Receptionist is very helpful.

Review 67:little noisy sometimes when cleaning machines clean the street.

Review 68:Location near Main railway station, Gonargrat station and market (including COOP, MIGROS and other shops selling and renting cloths, food, skiing gear) Breakfast was superb as a 3 star hotel. Staff was helpful including the restaurant staff. Good daily House keeping. Reasonable room size with big washroom and backside terrace with Triple room.

Review 69:Everyone was friendly, efficient and helpful. We needed to change our booking and they were really accommodating and didn't charge us when they could have. The restaurant served lovely meals in a great atmosphere and the staff were terrific.I'd absolutely recommend staying here and hope I get the chance to go back!

Review 70:breakfast we were told that if the food was finished - that was it. We came down at 8.30am and most of the food was gone. Breakfast is until 10am, so i think that it is only fair that there is sufficient food until then. The personnel should be able to estimate how many guests are staying at the hotel and should prepare accordingly. We are on vacation, we are certainly not going to get up at 7.30am in order to get a decent breakfast.

Review 71:The friendly staff.

Review 72:Maybe noisy if the street was busy. We found it was fine with the widow closed if it did get a bit noisy.

Review 73:Just a few minutes walk from the train station was just ideal. Set in the Main Street with easy access to everything. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the street which we liked. Bathroom also had windows so plenty of fresh air and good heating. It was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful. Good variety for breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Review 74:Rather standard rooms for the price Street can be noisy at night (no cars - as Zermatt is car-free - but noisy people returning from bars)

Review 75:Location (very close to the railway station) Breakfast Staff

Review 76:Wifi was not working in our building and we had to go to the lobby every time we had to access internet. Our room was freshly remodeled and the rooms smell like fresh paint.

Review 77:Service staff were excellent. They went above and beyond answering all our questions. Hotel is located in a prime location and is blocks away from the train station. The staff are very friendly and speak several languages.

Review 78:The hotel was a bit pricey but then this is Zermatt and it was right in the Christmas holiday season so it's to be expected. There is nothing negative to say.

Review 79:The staff greeted us in a very welcoming way which impressed us and made us feel at ease right away. They were very friendly and helpful. The room was quite big with windows on both sides of the street. The bathroom was a very good size too with a large bath. The hotel is very centrally located in the main street, within easy walking distance from the main train station and the Gornergrat train station. We tried the hotel's Italian restaurant and the food was delicious! There was a very good choice of food for breakfast as well. We really enjoyed our 1-night stay in this hotel!

Review 80:We booked this hotel derby with cooking facility with booking.com but booking.com did not inform us that that hotel derby has renovated & don't have any cooking facility anymore.

Review 81:Free upgrading.

Review 82:The hotel is cosy, well positioned for strawling and shopping, also short walking distance from the railway as well as the ski-bus or ski-train stations. Food is great, breakfast and dinner both excellent value for the money. Free wireless access only adds to the overall excellent rating.

Review 83:We couldn't get up to Gornergrat due to heavy snow and we ended up having cooking fun using the kitchen of our apartment! Staff is very friendly and willing to answer questions even before my stay! Very good experience!

Review 84:Can't think of anything

Review 85:It was very central, close to the station and the shops. The staffallowed us to leave our bags at the hotel until we needed to catch thetrain, after we had checked out.

Review 86:Like other European hotels there were no tea and coffee makingfacilities.

Review 87:Very helpful reception staff. Lovely room - large, spacious, lovelybathroom, balcony onto the Main Street. Very close to the train stationand very central location.

Review 88:I was staying with my parents and happy to find 3 single beds in the room. The restaurant staffs were very kind to provide ice and water for my mom every day.

Review 89:nice kitchen, cosy, clean and quiet room. The location of this hotel is near the train station and the cable station. So everything is very good. Pity we only stayed one night, should have stayed longer

Review 90:Quite a run-down and cramped two-person studio flat with uncomfortable beds. No fire notice/instructions on door. No electric kettle. Expensive (200 CHF per night) even for Switzerland.

Review 91:Nice town with easy access to mountain areas. reasonable breakfast.

Review 92:The room itself was a bit small and cluttered but didn't spend enough time in there to make a difference.

Review 93:Location was peaceful and off the main road. Balcony was a great place to relax and unwind. Staff were helpful and breakfast service was great!

Review 94:Surrounded by other hotels looking in on you. Dark old fashioned rooms. This was no get-away. This was a busy commercial centre

Review 95:Spacious apartment with a kitchen and balcony

Review 96:Late in the evening the Wi-Fi signal (in room 123) was low and erratic.

Review 97:We liked the large studio though we did not make use of the cooking facilities; we also liked the proximity of the 2 train stations and the green bus line, and the immediate access to the main street.

Review 98:the triple room is commodious. the staff also nice and helpful. clear to show us where is the best place to view the Matthorn. there is very convenient to rail station , and had a lift. by the way , the breakfast is plentiful and delicious.

Review 99:I felt the rate was little on higher side but still I have no complains, they also run restaurant with a rich menu which I think they can give areduction of 20 25% to inhouse guests which was lacking and we ate atanother restaurant

Review 100:Very close to zermat train station and gornegrat station, 2 minuteswalk, located at the main area of zermatt, nice spacious and cleanrooms, the lady at the reception was very good and explained everythingto us in a lucid way ( I forgot her name) I thank her for showing suchgood response to their visitors, breakfast was very good and of widevariety .my son ruhan says hi to her.

Review 101:Restaurant was a bit pricey....but everything in Zermatt is

Review 102:Clean and well maintained. Charming traditional Swiss Chalet feel and centrally located. Good overall value

Review 103:manager humiliated staff in front of guests, breakfast service was poor.

Review 104:position, character of the hotel, room with balconies, receptionist on arrival very welcoming and friendly all the time we were there.

Review 105:It is good location with walkable distance to train station. We take the studio with reasonable price. It is happy to cook with a clean and well equipped kitchen. Wonderful view of the Matterhorn from Gornergrat and Rothorn.

Review 106:The room was advertise with a balcony, we had none The temperature in the room was much too high during the night Location can be noisy (on the main street)

Review 107:Breakfast really good

Review 108:Location was superb - less than 5 mins from main station and right on the main street. Despite that room was quiet. Service was excellent - the staff were efficient and helpful.

Review 109:We stayed in the building behind the Derby Hotel, which has a smallkitchen in the room. It is still part of the hotel, but I assume is anupgraded room. The bed was terrible. It was one thin mattress on top ofa piece of wood. The pillows were equally as bad. They were flat. Icould barely sleep at night. The shower leaked. The outlet covers cameoff. The breakfast was not very good. I asked for help in finding a goodrestaurant in town. Instead of being unbiased and helpful, thereceptionist pushed their own restaurant (which was virtually empty). Ithink the value for the large amount of money spent on this hotel isvery low. I was disappointed.

Review 110:The location. It is right in the center of everything. I honestly feelthis is the only positive for this hotel.

Review 111:Breakfast set up was poor. A bit cramped. Quality of food was average. Fruit salad mixed with canned fruit. Omelette looked like plastic. Bread was great. No real atmosphere, no bar area to hang out. It was for us more a bed & breakfast ambiance which wasn't value for money.

Review 112:Central location, pleasant staff

Review 113:The location is very good, just near the train station. The hotel staff and manager are very nice, provided hot water to us. I really like staying at Derby.

Review 114:Maybe the room decor coukd be updated

Review 115:I liked the big room, the kitchen and dining room even though it wasonly rated 3 stars. The room was warm even though the outside was verycold. The tv channels available was excellent, much better than the 4star hotels I stayed at. The breakfast provided was very good. It wasclose to the train station.

Review 116:Staff did not speak English or French. Tween beads were cheap anduncomfortable. Not fit for a couple. No sound insulation. Therefore allnoises through out the hotel propagated and were disturbing. Breakfastbar offered few selections and low quality.

Review 117:The bathtub was big!

Review 118:Room was a little bit too small, though it didn't bother us much because you don't stay inside lot of time in such a beautiful place like Zermatt:).

Review 119:The people at the reception were very nice and helpful: advised on the weather conditions, places to visit and even let us check in before the official check in hours, so we could have a rest after the long trip. The breakfast quite diverse.

Review 120:The lift is rather small for three persons and there are steps up the reception from the road. Should construct a slope from the road to the reception counter. That would be perfect.

Review 121:Breakfast especially the pastry was great. The spread was more than enough. The room was cosy and spacious. It was indeed a sanctuary in the bitter cold of Zermatt -10 degree C temperature. There is more than enough power points for us to recharge all our equipment. Love this place.

Review 122:We thought restaurant was expensive and so found other places to eat. Breakfast coffee needs improving.

Review 123:Proximity to services and shopping, restaurants, cable cars and railway. Friendly helpful staff. Good English.

Review 124:The phone line of our room and our friend's room are out of order, reception can't make the wake-up call through the phone line, just offerthe 2" alarm clocks to us for wake-up usage.

Review 125:This hotel had great location not far from the train station and on the main drag. It is relatively low key from the street, but nice inside. Not a luxury hotel, but nice. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed in the apartment style rooms in the building behind, which was great. The buffet breakfast was very good and met our needs. The restaurant was also very good, albeit a little pricey. We would stay here again.
