Reviews for The Pipers
Review 1:Very noisy, bar underneath got louder as the night went on, not a good place for children! We only had one set of keys and when one of our group went out, we were LOCKED IN! Very dangerous!!!!! You had to go through the bathroom to get into the room so we had to time our bathroom breaks that no one wanted into or out of the room! There were plenty of towels but they were old and well used! You had to check in at the bar, and they were busy and not very receptive.
Review 2:Location close to the beach and bars!
Review 3:If you are after a peaceful nights sleep Do Not Stay Here. The pub isbelow the family rooms, the pub serves food to 1.00 am. This is followedby the staff and locals drinking on to 4.00 am. The music was onlyturned off when I went down to the bar and complained at 1.30 am.The staff don`t care about the guests and the so called Irish breakfast is rubbish, the only thing Irish about this place is the decor and the beer. The shower head was broken, the sink blocked up, the floor board are damaged and creaking. One window had no curtains or blinds, no remote control for the TV, the bathroom door does not close or lock. The noise from the bar and the smokers outside the single glazed windows is terrible. We requested private parking in advance, on arrival we where told to use the local car park which was full up. After driving around for 30 minutes trying to find a space I returned to the pub to be told the parking space is at No 26 you can use that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place has seen better days, the staircase up to the rooms is not for the elderly or disabled, For 169 euros a night this is not value for money, it is a RIP OFF.
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:Location being advertised as 200M from the beach is probably a little optimistic, but still an easy 5 minutes walk. With 2 adults and three dogs, it would have been nice to have the room cleaned everyday, or some supplies so we could at least sweep/vacuum the hair and sand.
Review 6:We have three older dogs, the latest addition being a 17 year old rescue just a few weeks before our trip. Piper's relocated us to a large downstairs room so she wouldn't have to try and navigate stairs. They also helped us bring meals from the restaurant to our room so we didn't have to leave the 'pack' two of the three for whom this was their first trip away. We had a package with cooked breakfast included - delicious. As was all the food we ate there. The personal sauna in the room was a unusual surprise!
Review 7:The room was very basic and in a state of poor condition. The curtains where far to short for the window, so I had to dress in the bathroom. Over all our experience staying in the pipers bb will never be repeated or recommend to anyone.
Review 8:The staff where very helpful when booking our room.
Review 9:The service in the restaurant one of 2 days was awful. We waited for 45 minutes to make an order. It is difficult with a little kid. I thought they would suggest us a compensation but it has not happened. There is no lift, parking is far away and costs a lot while there is a free p-space near the house.
Review 10:Nice old-fasioned house, clean and cosy room. Good (in dishes) restaurant in the complex. Near the sea.
Review 11:no need to reserve parking (parking is free on street)- should be clear on site. Owner gave a refund when I complained. Dirty windows.
Review 12:Delicious English breakfast, great location (easy walk to the beach), relaxed atmosphere so good for kids, good size family room, comfortable beds and good curtains that block out light. Best tiramisu we've ever had.
Review 13:Lovely food, beer and breakfast. comfy bed and hot water, Good Location
Review 14:One sofa bed had a slight dip
Review 15:Open shower room TV for children Central location
Review 16:Can be a bit noisy as it is over a pub, with people drinking outside
Review 17:We had a friendly welcome, very clean and spacious.
Review 18:The noise at night
Review 19:The location
Review 20:I think they are a little understaffed.
Review 21:Very handy location for breaking the trip home to the UK. Good comfortable quality offer - better than I anticipated. Large clean family room and newly installed bathroom.
Review 22:The welcome can be a bit harsh if the Pub is busy. It's a B&B sodon't expect "hotel" reception services. Some people tendto forget. They charge you a private parking space, whereas the publicparking lot is just next door and free of charge.
Review 23:I was traveling with my dog and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms arenicely decorated and fit the image of a B&B. Cosy and Comfy. Thelocation is great you can roam the backlands as well as the coastlinevery easily. The food is great!!!
Review 24:The front door of the room opened straight into the bathroom! So very little privacy. Beyond this were the two rooms - one for myself and husband, the other for the kids. Breakfast was pretty dreadful - never have a full English breakfast if you're not in England! Also very noisy - difficult to get to sleep at night.
Review 25:Friendly waiters in the bar downstairs
Review 26:Some aspects of our room were a little tired - wonky door handle andshower fitting but did not distract from what was a very comfortable bedin spacious room with plenty of storage. We will certainly use 'Pipers' again and would happily recommend it.
Review 27:Friendly staff - very good breakfasts (all the usual Continental coldmeats, cheeses etc. etc.) plus cooked bacon, eggs, sausages, beans (cookedto order and included in the b & b costs) Good choice of menu availablein evenings and nice 'Irish theme' bar with a very good selection ofbeers and whiskies. Pipers is located a couple of minutes from the localstop on the coastal tram route which gives frequent and easy access toall of the Belgium Coastal Resorts. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and willcertainly return again.
Review 28:stairs are an issue as well as the timed lighting in the hallway and stairs, way too short, one could take only a few steps before the lights went out.
Review 29:Location
Review 30:The pub was perhaps a little too noisy for some at night. I'm quite a light sleeper and it kept me awake a couple of nights. It wasn't a problem for the rest of my family, though.
Review 31:The room was clean and nicely decorated. Staff were friendly. Beach was just a few minutes walk. Breakfast in the pub was an tasty Belgian take on the Irish / British cooked breakfast. The pub was also convenient for dinner.
Review 32:Stuff every time in hurry
