Reviews for Hotel Aquatel
Review 1:Location, staff, lack of any facilities. Advert promised much better. No acces to food or drink anywhere nearby could be found
Review 2:Cheap hotel and it showed
Review 3:No one at reception morning or night, took great effort to find someone to check in and only French speaking staff (not a huge problem but warning would have been good). Location is out of town too far to walk so car needed. Accommodation is basic and old fashioned. They charged my credit card twice for a one night stay!
Review 4:One of the cheaper places in town, good water pressure, place was clean.
Review 5:Staff was not good at English, so some difficulty in communication. No TV stations in English. Could not leave luggage for some hours in hotel after check out. Reception could not provide information about walks/hikes in the nearby country
Review 6:The room was very good. Nice bed and bathroom facilities.
Review 7:Bathroom not well aired & a bit whiffy. Other than that, fine.
Review 8:Conveniently placed next to the Kayaking arrival station. Staff were helpful, making arrangements for early check in and providing information about where to rent bikes.
Review 9:For that price would expect bkfast at least. Got room very close to main door so whoever left u could hear banging door. (4 am in the morning) pillows was uncomfortable. Wasn't happy and won't come there again!
Review 10:Not too sure about the fact that key that gave access to the hotel corridor also apparently opened the doors to all the rooms.
Review 11:This was out of season so impossible to give a realistic review but the one 'stopover' night we had was just the job and excellent value for money.
Review 12:This so called hotel was closed for the season it was isolated with no facilities at all a couple me me at the front door and gave me a key to the hostel and left no drinks no restaurant no breakfast at 65Euro it was appalling worse than most youth hostels the furnishngs were non existent with two plastic garden chairs and a small table the bed was terrible and what was under the bed even worse i felt isolated and quite frankly afraid the fire alarms were ripped from the ceiling and the front door of the hotel had many marks where people had tried to get in completely dark and at the end of a track no a nice experiencethe two people who met me at the door were hostile saying if i had wanted breakfast i should of stayed at a best western !!! if only i had the so called view of the river was non existentjust a view of a carpark or should i say mud patch, it may be their closed season it which case they should close and not adverise the facilities that are not there i travel alone round europe this is the first time i slept with my clothes on....dreadful
Review 13:nothing
Review 14:decor
Review 15:Good location
Review 16:Poor decoration! Not even a hunger to put our clothes
Review 17:No ac
Review 18:Close to everything
Review 19:Drunks waking us up at 5 in the morning
Review 20:Location and value
Review 21:The room starts looking tired. Some screws sticking out of the floor to trip one up.
Review 22:Friendly staff.
Review 23:there was no bathroom door.
Review 24:when we arrived early than check-in time, staff was flexible and allowed us to check-in.
Review 25:No internet at the hostel
Review 26:Noise Doors that don't close Shabbiness
Review 27:Proximity to water
Review 28:Very noisey first thing in the morning. The bed was not comfortable. Not a great selection of places to eat nearby - on foot.
Review 29:Easy to find Lovely ride along the river
Review 30:The Hotel was unbelievably dirty. The rooms were not cleaned. The smell on the Hallway and the room was terrible. Also the rooms were not sound proof. If someone in the next room whispers, you would hear it. I have stayed in a lot of cheap hotels, but this is easily the worst one i have ever stayed
Review 31:For the price, we thought the comfort, cleanliness and facilities were good. Given the excellent price and value for money, there is nothing to dislike.
Review 32:Great value for money. This is the second time we've stayed here. For those like us without a car, it's a short walk from Dinant, which is a very pleasant walk along the river coming back in the evening. The staff at the hotel and the adjoining children's play centre are exceptionally friendly.
Review 33:Location. From train station it's 4 km. And reception work till 8.00 PM so be carefully. If you come later there will be nobody.
Review 34:Silent place, clean room, good location for kayaking near river.
Review 35:This is not really a hotel - more like a basic hostel. Aspects of theroom are broken - drainage, heaters, etc. The staff are simply notpresent, don't answer the phone and their email doesn't work, soyou're completely alone if you have an issue. Rooms were onlyserviced once (and they didn't bother with upstairs) in the time wewere there. While it is one star, and probably deserves half a star, thevalue is terrible - these rooms should go for 50-60 euro tops. Thisplace wasn't my first option in Dinant and lived down to myexpectations.
Review 36:Location outside Dinant was good for access to forest walks and arelaxed pub
Review 37:Bed too large for the space in the room. Difficult to open the door to the balcony, the bed was in the way. Breakfast poor value, no choice. Stairs to first floor accommodation were quite steep, not suitable for us.
Review 38:Not a lot!.
Review 39:There was no one at the front desk on arrival and they left after wereceived the key. The rooms smelled musty and the carpet was wet. Thedesignation hotel is exaggerated; youth hostel is more appropriate
Review 40:A dump - like Dinant itself. Our "non-smoking room" had two empty packets of Marlboro cigarettes in it, and the walls were so thin that you could hear everyone else in the place.
Review 41:The room was clean as were the bed sheets and linen. The gentleman who was at the front desk was polite and helpful. Basic accommodation but we knew that and the room was cheap at the price.
Review 42:Nobody there when we arrived, had to pick up a key from the restaurant next door but not note in English to tell us that. Corridor like a 60's office block leading to the rooms. The room was cold and smelled, the stairs to the top room were steep and dangerous and the railings etc didn't inspire confidence. The electric socket next to the top of the stairs was hanging off the wall with electric wires exposed. Sleeping was awful the walls were paper thin and the guys next door kept us up all night, they were just talking and laughing not even being particularly noisy. The beds were awful, the pillows were like bags filled with pieces of foam rubber. The place was heated by one electric wall heater on a timer. This place may be ok in the summer for a group of lads but it was awful and overpriced.
Review 43:The location was good it was easy to find and had free onsite parking. The shower was ok.
Review 44:- Doorknob was broken- breakfast existed of only 1 chocolate roll, 1 plain roll and 1 croissant, some things to put on it and some jus d'orange, tea and coffee. - no warm water next morning - yellow dirt in lavatory - only the towels were changed next morning, toilet's and rooms weren't - no soap etc.
Review 45:Aquatel conditions are very, very poor. The rooms smells bad. and its winter time. No heating systems and there was no hot water to bathe in the evening and in the morning. Called and the receptionist was unfriendly. I wil not recomend it to anyone.
Review 46:Aquatel. The location is nice, room size is ok, toilet and bathing ok as well.
Review 47:The hotel is really cheap and basic. The beds are small, uncomfortable and covered in plastic. The room wasn't very clean and there was a bad smell coming in from outside.
Review 48:It is above the kyaking company we were using.
Review 49:Rooms basic (Formula 1 style). Location a taxi ride from Dinant (10 to 11 Euros each way), railway station close to hotel as alternative.
Review 50:Hotel manager very helpful. Good restaurant 100 metres away. Close to river.
Review 51:Steep and dangerous stairs (ladder) in the room.
Review 52:Hotel Aquatel is very well situated if you want to kayak down the Lesse. The rooms provide basic comfort and are clean - good value for money.Dinant is nice for a visit of a couple of hours.
Review 53:Rusty sink and dirty toilet.
Review 54:The location of the hotel is excellent if you go kayaking down the Lesse river. Although the reception desk has fixed working hours, it is possible to arrange other arrival and departure times upon previous notice.
Review 55:Only downside was concierge not being very helpful when we arrived at 23.00.We had arranged this months in advance and he almost refused to let in to our room.I tricky coversation and speaking to booking.com eventually got us in!
Review 56:The room was the family room,5 single beds. The kids loved the idea of the bedrooms in the mezzaine/loft area.
Review 57:Payment on check-in rather than on departure.
Review 58:Its position is very convenient for access to Dinant although a car is needed to get to the centre of town. The rooms and facilities are very basic but adequate. It is basically an activity hotel with kayaking facilities available.
Review 59:Being at the cheaper end of the market it was a shame that someone set up off a fire alarm at 3am. Definitely a budget hotel aimed at backpackers, etc. and others travelling on a budget
Review 60:It was conveniently placed for what we wanted to do - a days kayaking. Dinant is a lovely town and a pleasant 15 minute walk away along the river with plenty of bars and restaurants.
Review 61:The rooms are a little uncomfortable and small.
Review 62:The hotel is accessible easily from the city center and adventure places easily. The staff of the hotel are very friendly and helpful.
Review 63:The heating not functioning The wc and bathroom very old No wardrobe -only 2 hangers - very poor furnishment
Review 64:The personel welcomed us very well Perfect location for Kayak sport
Review 65:terrible sent from the shower lack of room
Review 66:nice terrace
Review 67:if you don't have car isn't easy go to Dinant
Review 68:There is no one in reception. I waited outside the hotel for an hour and finally got someone to call the hostess.
Review 69:I waited ouside the hotel for an hour until I found someone to call the host.
Review 70:No window or extractor in the toilet
Review 71:Kind staff, heating and shower worked well. Quiet place. Great value for money.
Review 72:couldn't find the receptionist for twice even my own mobile data couldn't be used there
Review 73:the place is clean, facilities are good
Review 74:Everything very old and basic but clean.
Review 75:It was close to the center of Dinant. staying for one night.
Review 76:very noisy, small rooms, bad service, expensive
Review 77:location
Review 78:tv did not work reception did not work intercom did not work
Review 79:cheap but to expensive for service
Review 80:Quite pricey for little, very basic room. Staff not available at checkin so had to phone.
Review 81:Large balcony. Location good for exploring surrounding area.
Review 82:Breakfast not included in price and very expensive (over 9 €) Too expensive for what it is (very basic)
Review 83:Location Staff
