Reviews for Villa Cua Can
Review 1:Nghi and Reiner are great hosts. It is a homestay of it's best and I felt like home from the first minute. The wonderful dinner prepared by Nghi is already worth the visit. The breakfast already makes the day and insides about the island provided by Reiner together with the free motorbike and additional tour recommendations made my stay perfect. It is a clear 10 points for homestay. You will find cheaper places, also resorts with direct beach access or more benefits / equipment, but the friendly and personal "wellness package" offered here, is unique! See you somewhen, somewhere again! Thanks again for everything!
Review 2:the bed was like sleeping on a slab of concrete the constant noise throughout the night roosters crow dogs bark fishing boats cruise up and down the river with no mufflers sounds like a speed way being awaken every morning at 6 am to the sound of the public address system yes reiner does send an email to let you no what to expect but it does not truly outline the level of noise we could live with the kararoke but the rest of the noise that continued after caused us to shorten our stay and then being told about the noise cancelling headphones in the room ??? who goes on holiday to have to wear such things to sleep
Review 3:the hosts are nice people very friendly nghi is a super lady great cook and will do anything for you reiner is very helpful and has great knowledge of the island the friendliness of the local villagers
Review 4:The village did have some noice especially in the morning, so you should be aware of this.
Review 5:Reinar and Nghi was so friendly and helpful. It felt like being their friends instead of guests.
Review 6:Nghi and Reiner are the perfect hosts We were stund bye the cooking of Nghi And The good explanations of Reiner over the Island. We Had a motorbike for our stay(included in de bookingprice) The view was just stunning!Great locations between the local fishermans. they helped us both for planning our trips during our stay. We did some hiking together and we even spend new year's eve with them at the main beach. What was good? Ithink almost everything for sure the karaoke at night ;-)
Review 7:We missed hot water a bit in the evenings.
Review 8:Villa Cua Can is the best place to experience real Vietnam life far from popular tourist routes with all the hospitality and noiseness of Vietnamese people (and dogs and cows). And the hosts will make sure that you are not bored: they suggest you motobyke to explore the island by yourselves, fishing with local fisherman, crab eating, boat travelling, cooking masterclass, guide tour to the market, etc. Both Reiner and Nghi were very attentive and helpful, always ready to give you advice on where to go and what to see. Travel directions drawn by Reiner impressed us with it's accuracy, you will never get lost with it! And particularly we would like to note Nghi's cooking, it's excellent! Make sure you don't not miss the supper made by Nghi, this was our most delicious experience of Vietnamese food.
Review 9:Leaving Villa Cua Cuan
Review 10:Reiner and Nghi are super friendly, fully committed to hospitality and service. They developed an other experience for you at Phu Quoc. But remember if your only in for the beach from a resort don't choose Villa Cua Cuan. If your in for an authentic village experience in Vietnam with all the disadvantages an advantages choose the place!
Review 11:No hot water, and the house wasn't very soundproof.
Review 12:Amazing experience. Exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts, excellent location overlooking a river in a small fishing village, one of the highlights of our trip. We really enjoyed the self guided tour route they recommended and the tour they took us on through the national park. Great food. Helped us organise travel to our next stop.
Review 13:We had a great experience of living in a genuine Vietnamese village but with the comforts of a beautiful house on the river. Our hosts Reiner and Nghi were amazing and ensured at all times that we were comfortable. Nghi's cooking is superb and I would highly recommend that you stay in and sample her lunches and dinners. The breakfasts in the morning were delightful as was the picture perfect setting of sitting on the verandah overlooking the river as the local fisherman came down in their boats to go out to sea for their days work. The first day we took their bike and drove North to the end of the road, which was a magnificent scenic drive past fisherman drying their fish, cows on the beaches and hundreds of fishing boats out to sea. Along the way we would stop for a freshly squeezed juice or coconut fresh off the tree. My recommendation would be to definitely stay for the full 3 days as the highlight of the stay was the tour that Reiner and Nghi take their guests on with their motorbikes. This is a unique tour and not something any local tourist will ever get to do. You will get to experience a scenic ride on the back of a bike, a visit to a peppercorn farm and lunch with a local crab fisherman hosted by him and his wife in their hut on the banks of the river, then a unique trip out to sea in his boat where he will leave you on a desolated, pristine beach for a few hours. Truly heaven on Earth. Upon our return, the perfect day ended with a massage by one of their neighbor's who is a massage therapist and a sensational dinner by Nghi. On our last day Reiner and Nghi arranged a friend who is a taxi driver to drive us South to the Coconut Prison and Sao Beach. Both definitely worth a visit. He then conveniently dropped us off at the airport.
Review 14:Bring earplugs because the dogs are barking in the evening and they have load speakers in the village with radio. Vietnamese local people are quite noisy :-)
Review 15:This place is a hidden gem. It if nor for people fond of luxury and comfort. It is for people who want to see something authentic. The house is placed on the riverside in the middle of a small fisherman village. It was unique experience for us to be there and the house lord and his wife are extremely friendly and helpful.
Review 16:Staying in Cua Can Villa was definitely the highlight of our trip toVietnam! It gave us the opportunity to experience the local lifestyleaway from the main tourist spots. The house is newly build, nicelydecorated, with a big terrace facing a river. It is located in the oldfisherman village, nearby a number of beautiful beaches. There are manypossible activities to explore the local villages, the national park anddifferent beaches, so I would recommend to stay at least for threenights. Nghe and Reiner will give you great tips what to see and whereto go in the island to make most from your trip. Nghe is a great cook,we absolutely loved her pancakes for breakfast and we also enjoyed tostay for dinner. Everything was perfect, very recommended!
Review 17:- amazing homestay, great location in a fishermen village for a new experience ! - Nghi and Reiner love Phu Quoc, they know the best spots in the island, far away from others tourists - easy transport from/to airport, and everything was already done for motobike rental - Very nice dinners home made by Nghi - Dalat wine and good times in the evening
