Review 1：There was nothing i found bad about the experience, however i was disappointed because i felt the food service or offering was not up to the standard everything else was. Service excellent, rooms excellent, location excellent and then the food offering decent. Im never one to review and after my stay at Oude Werf i will never stay anywhere else when I'm in stellenbosch, i just wish food was on par with everything else so i never have to leave the hotel room :)

Review 2：Booking.com did not communicate the extended stay request and I was kicked out 4 hours before my daughter's wedding blessing. Very very stressful. My daughter was so stressed she could not find confirmation that I found later on. I think that it would be nice if you gave her a complimentary night.

Review 4：The parking situation. I think a better parking arrangements could be arranged to make things more comfortable and easy to access.

Review 5：The hospitality we recieved was excellent. The staff were very accomodating. Upon arriving late on a Sunday evening, we requested if the kitchen had any food available for us. They were very keen and willing to provide a small snack for us to last till the morning.

Review 6：Only negative is that it could have done with a stocked mini bar in the room but it wasn't too hard to walk down to the pool bar for a drink.

Review 15：Lovely quiet modern rooms and facilities in a traditional old fronted hotel right in the centre of town. All the staff were excellent and could not do enough to make our stay special. Would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Review 16：My room was right by reception, it was noisy and right on the road, I could hear everything from the reception area and from the road. Despite that it was an expensive room. My coleagueas rooms though were on the upper floors and were much better.

Review 26：One manager suggested, without us asking, to move us to a better room, away from reception. That happened within a few moments and we were very grateful. staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 27：My mom 81 years old had to climb 30 stairs to get to her room . She suffers from a lung condition . Took her 10 minutes to get up to her room . No lift .On booking I requested a downstairs room. Next day we were allocated a new room accessible by lift. I was disappointed with the room facing the street when you have such a beautiful garden.Booking was made quite so time before arriving

Review 31：Oudewerf is a drink of fresh spring water on a hot summers day! The hospitality, comfort, exquisite dining and location makes it an ideal getaway. My husband and I have just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary and our weekend at the Ouderwerf was absolutely the cherry on the top! I'm hoping to book again around Christmas with my 4 kids. Hopefully you'll have a great special like the one we had this time round

Review 39：Beautifully renovated since I stayed there last - it exceeded our expectations and we decided to stay two nights and not in Franschoek for our second night as originally planned (a half day trip was enough). Turned out to be a great decision as you can walk everywhere and loved the feel of the place and friendly staff.

Review 40：The TV didn't pick up a lot of channels but when we visit you again it will be for a holiday then we won't be needing a TV. The shower didn't drain well.

Review 41：Oude Werf Hotel will definately see us again but next time we will bring the kids as well. From the reception right through to the kitchen the staff were friendly and helpful. The decor is absolutely beautiful and we loved the peace and quite surrounding. Our room was very pretty and the bed and linen comfartable and clean. The guys that helped us with the parking and collection of our vehicles were also friendly and helpful. The food....1st class. We will definately see you all again!

Review 63：The hotel is beautifully decorated. The room is spacious and has everything you need, down to Nespresso machine! Friendly staff and great location - great find for a stay in Stellenbosch. We will definately be back.

Review 64：Odd, form-over-function styling. Light fixtures hanging from the ceiling that are in the middle of rooms where you can easily and frequently bump your head. Beware the shower is all-glass and does not offer much privacy with other occupants in the room. Breakfast lacks many healthy protein options not high in carbohydrates or fat.

Review 68：No food late at night Kicked out of room at 10am on Sunday morning - first hotel in the world i have stayed at that did that. I did not see the same number of staff to match the same number of hotel rooms (i.e. a cleaner to enter the room at 10am) to warrant such behaviour. Ordered extra Nespresso pods and was met with a bill upon sign out - this was a surprise.

Review 69：Location Ability to walk to the city centre and feel safe at midnight. Probably one of the best breakfasts i have had for a while. Funky decor. Be careful of the room you stay in and the partner you are with as you may find yourself in one of the bathrooms that has frosted glass strategically placed so privacy is not as much as in a closed off bathroom.

Review 72：Housekeeping unfortunately forgot to remove an underpant on the balcony which a hotel guest left there on the chair. Not too big of a problem, but an unpleasant surprise. Also we could not close the bathroom door properly, because it was broken. When we called one of the staff for help, he told us, it could not be fixed before Monday (we arrived Friday). So I had to send my boyfriend on the balcony, whenever I had to use the bathroom.

Review 73：The rooms are very spacious and really luxurious. I was pleasantly surprised. The breakfast had a great selection of different kinds of foods. Also I loved the location of the hotel, there are plenty of great restaurants and bars just in walking distance.

Review 74：There were a group of people checking out at 4am and as they were pulling their suitcases out of there rooms, their room doors slammed shut behind them very loudly. Times that by 10 at 4am...not pleasant. Please tell guess that check out early to take more care.

That was a bit disappointing as we had somewhere to be and hoped to be able to be in the room and freshen up, instead we could only get to the room when we were back. Could see the superior rooms from the pool and they look much lighter and inviting.

Review 102：The hotel really went out of its way to assist me and my bridesmaids when we used the Oude Werf apartment to get ready. No request was too much. The hotel also upgraded my husband and I on the night of our wedding which was lovely. On the whole the hotel is beautiful, clean, friendly and the staff are wonderful.

Review 103：We stayed at Oude Werf for a wedding and it was amazing, the room was spectacular and the service was great. The breakfast was served in the beautiful open courtyard and the whole experience was fantastic.

Review 104：The "deluxe" room 103 originally booked was very dark with no view and no privacy. Room 105 is as bad. Go for a room in the new block, on a higher floor. It is stingy that a cappuccino or latte is not included in breakfast which is otherwise good. Service from the friendly staff was generally good, but they need extra staff when a large group arrives - they can't cope. The hotel did have mosquitos, they need to put plug in vapour insect repellent / killer in the rooms. The Wifi, though free, is very slow.

Review 105：The staff were very friendly and helpful. The valet parking was free, but make no mistake, you need it. Parking is difficult in Stellenbosch. The location is spot on. It is right in the centre with plenty of bars and restaurants in easy walking distance. The free WiFi. The new rooms are light and airy. The breakfast is good, apart from charging extra for a cappuccino.

Review 106：This hotel is currently being renovated and should not be open with the noise of drilling, alarms, dust, paint fumes etc. We were unable to use the facilities on offer because of the building chaos and we're not warned of building before booking.

Review 112：I was checked into a downgraded room from what I booked on Bookings.Com! It was corrected when I complained. Also, the construction work is disruptive at present.

My steak was close being send back for being very tough, the fish were totally overcooked and the squid stuffing was tasteless and the pasta very average. Chef was aparently not there but the replacement you had should not cook.

Review 116：We booked the more expensive "family apartment". This is exactly what it was, an apartment in the building next door to the hotel. As a result, no services from the hotel could be made directly available, particularly no WiFi, and with such a poor 3G signal, getting work done was not an option. Access to the hotel itself was via a locked gate, and with no key, had to rely (hope) someone was at the front desk to remotely open it (which they did without enquiring as to who was trying to get in). So security, in safety conscious Stellenbosch, where everything has a locked gate and a guard, was essentially non-existent.
