Reviews for Wichita Suites

Review 1:the staff is great. the property is so rundown, though, it would be impossible to get it really clean. stained carpets, broken cabinet doors, etc. smells of stale cigarette smoke. would like to give a better review because of the staff. it is definitely not their failt.

Review 2:love seat very uncomfortable--prefer two chairs and foot stool---put at least 3 coffees each in room--our rooms locks did not work or were broken so put chair to reforce door

Review 3:Breakfast is always good-complimentary drinks and newspaper is nice

Review 4:We didn't like the breakfast at 7:00 on Sunday as we wanted to get on the road at 6:30 after eating.

Review 5:Having two rooms worked well for us and two TV's,

Review 6:Staff not much help, I asked why I couldn't get WiFi in my room and he said I was probably in 1 of the dead zones . Needed a plunger and was told to run down 3 floors to pick it up at the front desk .

Review 7:Nice facilities and very clean,

Review 8:I have stayed here many times and always enjoyed the staff and facilities. It is conveniently located for my travel plans and activities. I will stay here in the future also.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:Loved the sofa in our room for tv watching - and great HD tv. Loved full refrigerator and microwave. Bed was comfortable and towels thick and fluffy. Happy hour was fun and a great full breakfast.

Review 11:I was looking for a discounted price for a motel stay close to a OSU Football Game that was not a long drive to or from the game to the motel and found this motel. It worked perfect for our needs and would use the same motel again with a discounted price.

Review 12:The hotel as a whole is outdated. Carpet needs replacing and several touch ups are needed in the rooms. It wouldn't take much but for the money it really needs done to keep a viable competitive hotel.

Review 13:Breakfast was good as alwaya, staff very friendly, and good location.

Review 14:The only negative was that the hallway outside our room smelled like smoke, but our room was fine.

Review 15:The evening cocktails and morning breakfasts were fantastic! Great place for our family!

Review 16:Furniture esp the sofa was on the cheap side as well as the carpet.

Review 17:Full breakfast was very good. Suites here really are suites with a separate bedroom unlike other places. Happy hour with some free drinks was nice.

Review 18:Honestly, overall it isn't that bad. However, having said that, my wife and I have used this motel for many years. After this stay we may not go back.

Review 19:Probably the best part we experienced this stay was the staff at the front desk.

Review 20:I wish they would have told me about pool and exercise room being out of order was a big part of why we intentionally went here especially after finding out its been down for 2 weeks.

Review 21:The beds and staff were understanding.

Review 22:stayed on a non smoking floor but it still smelled very strongly of smoke in the halls and the room smelled musty

Review 23:nice big room-good breakfast buffet-social hour was nice

Review 24:No cable TV so couldn't enjoy anything on tv. Couples who travel with me reported they had cable in their rooms. When I reported the problem to staff on duty they gave an excuse that cox was in dispute or something.

Review 25:Sleep was comfortable. Room was very clean

Review 26:Cable Carrier (Cox} was supposedly converting to all-digital format requiring installation of new box. However, this didn't happen and all service except to local channels was cut off. NOT good! And, we were not told this was going to happen.

Review 27:Suites are roomy and comfortable. Full size refrigerator is really nice. Very quiet which is a major plus.

Review 28:Some of the TV channels did not work; hallway was noisy in the AM

Review 29:Happy Hour! Restaurant proximate...walking distance. Large room. 2 reclining chairs and ottamans in front of bed with big screen TV; bathroom in back and not by front door; kitchenette; Kerig Coffee Maker; good breakfast

Review 30:Need extra pillows and blankets when watching TV that aren't from the bedroom. Also, would be nice to have hot chocolate packets and choice of sweet rolls for breakfast.

Review 31:Having a separate bedroom and a double sink in the bathroom. Also, like the bright lightning in all our rooms (BR, LR and bathroom).

Review 32:Room decor was right out of the 1980's. That's ok, but upholstered furniture, floor coverings and drapes should be replaced to freshen the look and make it cleaner.

Review 33:Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom was larger than normal with a large vanity with room to actually unpack my toiletries and makeup. Wifi worked fine with no glitches.

Review 34:Great location for our trip. Super breakfast and friendly staff. Bed was comfortable we would have liked a couple more pillows but what we had was fine (so we didn't ask for more).

Review 35:Some updates could be made. Flat pillows. Hall carpet (on 4th floor). wifi was only good in lobby area, not on 4th floor

Review 36:Surprised by the cocktail hour. Friendly staff. Ease of checkin

Review 37:Carpets were worn and shabby; bed & pillows too hard for my comfort.

Review 38:King suite included 2 comfortable lounge chairs with ottomans plus a large screen tv

Review 39:The separate bedroom/living room with 2 televisions was great. Loved the pool and spa. Having a kitchen was a huge plus. The breakfast was far better than any other Wichita hotel I've stayed in. Would definitely stay there again.

Review 40:The carpet in the halls was lumpy. The breakfast was identical all four mornings we were there. There was no fruit at breakfast either.

Review 41:The location for this hotel is great if you are doing anything on the east side of Wichita. It is located directly across Kellogg from the VA Hospital. We were there to visit family who only lived 4 blocks away. The hotel is very quiet and comfortable. The decor is typical hotel quality.

Review 42:I can't say there was a negative thing.

Review 43:The room was clean and spacious. Noise was nonexistent. The breakfast was excellent. The price was right.

Review 44:Location on East Kellogg i.e. US 400 is excellent. easy access to/from airport and most of the city, furthermore close to the friends we were to visit. Had stayed there in 2013 already. No change at all ! Same welcome, cleanliness, comfort, well-maintained equipment. We immediately felt like at home ! Even the rate was still about the same.

Review 45:Pancakes were a little tough. No waffle maker.

Review 46:The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good but not great. Could use a waffle maker.

Review 47:The first non-smoking room given reeked of cigarette smoke and the second one was very musty smelling. Was told that since they have smoking rooms as well that the smell from a smoking room even from the 3rd floor could come in our 1st floor non-smoking room. Furniture is old and stained in living room/kitchen area.

Review 48:Easy to get to and the beds were nice and comfy. Very quiet throughout hotel and we heard nothing during the night. Liked the suite idea as it was nice to have an area to watch tv and visit while others could go to sleep if they wanted without being disturbed. We were given a new room without a problem when the first one didn't work out.

Review 49:There were no negatives.

Review 50:The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable. There was very little or minimal noise either from adjacent rooms or from the road.

Review 51:When I booked the room a king size online I was asked if there were any requests. I requested 2 beds and the ground floor. When I checked in, I was told (in a sarcastic manner) that I certainly couldn't expect requests to be honored as I had received a bargain rate.

Review 52:Excellent location, quiet, appetizing breakfast buffet, functional suite

Review 53:I stayed here for the first time when moving my son to Wichita. I need an extra night so returned because I enjoyed it so much the first time. The value for the money is excellent

Review 54:I mean really, good price on a room and a super breakfast, plus 3 free drinks at happy hour. Does it get any better. We stayed at a Days Inn the night before, the room smelled and the breakfast consisted of toast, yogurt, and a waffle. Wichita Suites had eggs, bacon, hash browns, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, fruit, oatmeal, cereal, juice, milk and good coffee! We will make it a point to stay there again.

Review 55:We could not get the WIFI to work at all. Called the desk and they said it was because so many people were on. Hotel should be able to manage the WIFI with the amount of people!!

Review 56:We were here for State Track Meet and it was clean and very good location.

Review 57:Rooms need remodeled and upgraded badly. The pillows were HORRIBLE! I had to go down and ask the front desk for more pillows at 3am because I could not sleep on the thin little things we had.

Review 58:Loved the location and the size of the room.

Review 59:The WiFi was horrible or non- existent. Spoke to the hotel desk several times who stated that have been having trouble with the provider for a while and apologized for the inconvenience. Also, weren't allowed take our breakfast to our room. This did not make any sense to us since each room is equipped with a kitchenette with Microwave and full size Refrigerator. Carpet in hallways need to be tightened up. Lumpy.

Review 60:We'd stayed at this hotel in the past but was not satisfied with the bedding and room style. We chose a 2 room suite this time and was delightfully pleased. Newer bedding and a separate living area, and a nice on suite with a double vanity made a difference

Review 61:Staff when checking in was unfriendly and attitude when reported light issue was not great. I've stayed here before and was not pleased, but thought I would give it another shot. Probably won't do that again. Had to move rooms because of no light in the bathroom and no one there to fix it. Didn't have anything with which to stir my coffee -- no stir sticks provided and nothing in the kitchen drawers

Review 62:Spacious room, WiFi, TV, coffee. Staff when checking out was friendly and helpful.

Review 63:Breakfast is OK, there are items besides carps and sweets. However, after three mornings scrambled eggs get a little tiresome. More of a variety would be nice.

Review 64:The location as to our activities is good. The staff is friendly.

Review 65:We were told we could not purchased additional drinks even though there was a sign that said walk-ins could purchased drinks for $2.00!

Review 66:We watched the NCAA Championship game and had three free drinks. It was a lot of fun!

Review 67:No swimming pool or hot tub availble in cool weather. That was my only dislike. The Hotel is ran well and a great breakfast buffet. Hot food.

Review 68:convinence and cleanliness.

Review 69:The room was very clean as was the entire establishment. It was very attractive and the staff was friendly. As an added bonus they had DVD players in the rooms and DVD's available to check out. The breakfast was wonderful, with eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, etc.

Review 70:Like i said the staff in the front desk is rude. I have been there twice and i love it except the front desk clerks

Review 71:The kitchenette and the free drinks

Review 72:When we checked in about 6 p.m. on March 17, the woman at the front desk was sullen, rude and acted as if I was disturbing her. I offered her my reservation confirmation and she would not take it. She asked how I spelled my last name and I offered it again since my name and address was printed on it. She again would not take it. I would have left if there had been another hotel near. On this trip, we stayed in four hotels and she was the very worst staff member that we encountered.

Review 73:Good hotel, okay location, great breakfast, great morning staff.

Review 74:Smoking still allowed at this establishment on various floors of hotel. The smell of cigarettes was a bit strong and will not be staying here again unless property goes entirely smoke-free.

Review 75:There was nothing we didn't like.

Review 76:The breakfast bar was fabulous. The workout room had up-to-date, clean equipment. The room was spacious and clean. We would stay here again.

Review 77:One of the lamps didn't work and the other lighting seemed dim. The toilet would keep running if the handle wasn't placed back in flushing position.

Review 78:We have stayed here once before. Love the kitchen! So nice to not have to eat out all the time. Full size fridge and sink. Dishes and silverware wrapped/sealed. Check out time is noon. Very clean. Both times we have stayed there, there receptionists have been great.

Review 79:They need to improve the pillows. They are very bad.

Review 80:I like the location as it is in the middle if we want to go east or west we do not have to travel a long way to get there.

Review 81:Fridge leaked but I let front desk know. Phone was static-y. No information about local restaurants, etc. Need a notebook with that type of information on it.

Review 82:Roominess

Review 83:Unenthusiastic night clerk. No dish soap in kitchenette. The kitchen sink drain was "slow." There were broken tiles in the bathroom floor. The walls, doors, woodwork and furniture in our room were old and scuffed. The room decor was mismatched and outdated. The hotel was in a scary neighborhood, which was visible from the windows in our room at the back of the building. We heard gunshots during the night. The bed was hard with threadbare linens. The door stopper in the bathroom was missing. The shower sprayed through the top of the curtain in the bathroom.

Review 84:The hotel lobby was nice, with attractive furniture and geometric art. The daytime front desk person was very friendly and helpful. The room had a nice kitchenette--complete with bagged silverware and dishes for two, coffee maker, microwave, sink, fridge and paper towel. There was good lighting and the furniture was arranged well. There was a cute entertainment area in the room, with comfy chairs, a big-screen TV and DVD player. The bathroom was well-lighted and clean with plenty of towels. There was a DVD library in the hotel for guests. In addition to the usual amenities, there was a blow-dryer, iron and ironing board. The exercise room was fully equipped with well-working machines and had an attached sauna. The breakfast buffet was substantial--with hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, toast, oatmeal, cereal and milk, juice, fresh fruit, etc. Food was served with "real" glass dishes and silverware, rather than paper or plastic.

Review 85:i have no complaints.

Review 86:courteous, friendly staff; spacious, clean suite with full kitchen and comfortable furniture; non-smoking room; free happy hour (drinks and popcorn snack); free warm breakfast, which is unusual these days, which all made my stay feel like a home away from home experience that exceeded my expectations, given the reasonable price.

Review 87:I booked for 4 adults and they only had us for 2. My son booked for one and they had him down for two. The lady who checked us in was rude and said she couldn't change it.

Review 88:They advertise no smoking. I booked no smoking. My door said no smoking however the room was a smokers room. They apparently have smoking rooms or they allow smokers to smoke in the non smoking rooms. They were completely booked up and the only reason we were accommodated to change rooms was because they put us up in a reno-room that was to be used the following day. It is a very old hotel it was clean BUT it has cigarette burns in the carpets and on the sink counters in the bathrooms (both rooms we were in)...they definitely need to reno this place...BUT it was clean.

Review 89:The staff was great. The breakfast area was really nice and the breakfast was plentiful and had variety and very adequate for travelling and getting out on the road fast! It was very clean.

Review 90:3rd + 4th floors smelled like smoke - even the "nonsmoking" rooms on those floors. Sort of a dingy part of the neighborhood.

Review 91:Helpful staff, decent food at breakfast. 2nd floor was really clean and smell great.

Review 92:That we couldn't stay longer ;)

Review 93:The front staff was very friendly and helpful. It felt like going to a relatives home. I was VERY impressed with the fresh, hot breakfast. It was much better than what I had at my conference that morning. The room far exceeded our expectations. The location was great. No traffic noises or anything.

Review 94:It could use some serious updating. The musk and ashtray smell from the third floor was really hard to take in, quite overwhelming, we were on a smoke free floor. Thankfully when inside the room you couldn't smell it any longer. The carpet in the hallway could use replaced and some of the cracking paint too. If this hotel were updated it would be an excellent choice when deciding where to stay.

Review 95:I accidently booked a king suite instead of the double queen like I had thought, I was a little disappointed that hotel staff wasn't able to switch us to the room we needed, even if the cost was more, but it was my mistake to begin with. I liked that the room was big and clean. You get 3 free drink vouchers for their happy hour upon checking in which is nice, never had that before. The drinks could use a new recipe but what the heck they were free!

Review 96:located in area with lots of closed businesses, carpet and furniture worn

Review 97:full breakfast, not just muffins and juice drink in evening friendly staff ease of access and parking

Review 98:* Located on a one way street. * Unfriendly staff. * Carpets in the hallway were bulging creating an ugly appearance and a trip hazard. * Single entry point to bldg.

Review 99:The room was large, and basically clean.

Review 100:What we didn't like was the service at check in. We arrived late 12:30am due to driving a far distance to get there because of our activities we had going on that day. The receptionist checking us in was rude and was throwing papers on the counter after making copies. It felt like we were a bothersome because we arrived so late. Before checking us in she was in the back room and popped her head out saying "I'll be with you in just a little bit." We waited a good 5 minutes before she came out to help us. It appeared as if she was "on" something as well. We were very tired from driving all day and our check in experience was not very comforting. The other thing was the breakfast tasted very well it's just that some of the food was still cold and not warm/hot for eating as it should have been. Lastly, the location was right next to a bar/pub. I was very leery of my car being parked outside due to that reason.

Review 101:The bed was very comfortable and our check out service was very nice. A good facility for the price paid.

Review 102:Room was stuffy smelling when arrived. Toilet and shower did not work properly.

Review 103:Room amenities. Happy hour and hot breakfast. Location. Restaurant next door and attached pub. Pleasant staff.

Review 104:Breakfast was nasty cafeteria food and hallways had strong cigarette smell. Pool was decent but spa had no controls for air pump or temperature.

Review 105:Price was good and room was clean & quiet. Breakfast was like eating at a school cafeteria.

Review 106:The employee there when we checked in was rude, interrupted me when I asked her whose driverse license would she like to see (mine or my husband's). Her tone was sarcastic like she tried to make me feel stupid. Her demeanor reminded me of someone who didn't want to be there, because she seemed annoyed that we walked in the door. The room was great, however I saw a hair ingrained in one of the towels, which to me was unsanitary. The pillows were flat, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. We woke up with neck and body aches. A bed and the pillows are supposed to not give you pain. They are supposed to bring comfort and rest.

Review 107:TV, breakfast, wifi, full refrigerator, the morning employee at checkout was friendly.

Review 108:carpets on hallways were torn and frayed, ceiling in bathroom was in need of repair

Review 109:nice size comfortable room; access to over 200 movies to watch in the room, nice breakfast, happy hour

Review 110:the room was small and loacked the amenities that I expected for the dollars spent. I removed them from the CH2MHill recomended hotel list. There was little value in the location and accomidations for the price paid.

Review 111:staff

Review 112:I had a smoking room, and although I am a smoker, I should still get a quality room just like a non smoker. There were burn marks everywhere. The furniture was old and uncomfortable. The drawer in the kitchen was broken and the freezer did not work in the refrigerator.

Review 113:Most everything

Review 114:The pool was nice and clean with a hot tub, but it was the size of a postage stamp. This is for wading, and I like to do laps. Not much of a complaint, and my only one.

Review 115:The gym, the free drinks, the breakfast. Room was clean and staff were helpful.

Review 116:One of the rooms had a bed and love seat from the early 1900's, with stains on both the furniture and carpet. The air conditioner never got called just kind of "luke warm". The sink in the kitchenette just pour water out of the back side of the faucet when turned on. I am pretty sure that the 4th floor had no working "hall way" or elevator air conditioner either.

Review 117:The location was great! I booked two King rooms. They were right across the hall from each other. The price was good and they serve a Hot Breakfast. Bathroom was functional and the water pressure was great, especially with the shower head that you can change the spray selections.

Review 118:clean and a great value

Review 119:Close to the VA in Wichita

Review 120:Could be a little more modernized

Review 121:Had a fridge and a separate bedroom and I little living from and dinning table. Also 2 tv's and DVD players!

Review 122:everything was great. don't change a thing. Even breakfast was really good with lots of choices.

Review 123:Love the friendly courteous staff. The evening hour is great. We missed it this trip. Breakfast is wonderful. Fresh, hot and delish!!!

Review 124:Seemed obvious staff were there simply to do a job. Regardless, though, they weren't rude. I'll call them "efficient".

Review 125:Comfy room

Review 126:Good value, location, and staff Free hot breakfast buffet - hash browns, scrambled eggs, toast

Review 127:Very nice hotel for price!

Review 128:Very nice rooms for the money, outstanding breakfast. Great place to stay. Very convenient to the VA Hospital.

Review 129:Breakfast in the morning and drinks at night. All included in room rate.

Review 130:Rude and unfriendly staff

Review 131:Great breakfast
