Reviews for Hotel Skyler

Review 1:None of the rooms in this hotel have bathtubs. All of the rooms have stall showers. This can be a challenge if you're traveling with small children -- there's no way to give them a bath!

Review 2:This is a unique hotel in a great location. The interior is very well done and the decor is modern and comfortable. Inside each room there's a special slot where you insert your room key to turn on the lights and climate control; these things turn off to save energy when you take your key and leave.

Review 3:As a leed Platinum hotel, it certainly surpassed our expectations of aclean, comfortable, and eco-friendly stay in Syracuse. Staff wasincredibly friendly & even booked us with their hotel van to take usto the nearby train station in the morning.

Review 4:We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Skyler. It was very quiet in our room and the bed was very comfortable. I also loved that the hotel recycles and is "green friendly".

Review 5:The bed mattress was way too soft. The A/C thermostat was not working properly (the A/C stopped working even though the target temperature was never reached).

Review 6:Excellent complementary breakfast with a large enough variety of choices. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel looks new and all areas including the room were clean. hotel parking was close to the entrance and easy to get in and out.

Review 7:There wa no coffee maker in the room. There was no bag for the ice bucket. I was told they don't need bags. Light very dim in bathroom. Hard to put on make up. Transportation to airport and breakfast all available after we had to leave for airport.

Review 8:Bed seemed ok.

Review 9:parking lot a bit crowded, but it worked out alright

Review 10:Very tastefully decorated. Location was perfect. The staff, all of them with whom we talked, very friendly and helpful. Your choice of travelers did not allow me to pick our description, : Grandmother and mother traveling together to visit daughter at Syracuse. It was perfect for us.

Review 11:The room was a tad small but for 2 people it was fine!

Review 12:We liked that this was an Eco friendly hotel. It was a beautiful hotel with stained glass and the rooms were lovely in shades of green. This is a converted synagogue. Would definitely stay there again!

Review 13:I love that so much attention was put on repurposing materials to create the hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and having the healthy breakfast buffet was a bonus. It was quiet and just an interesting room and comfortable.

Review 14:Based on my single night stay, there was nothing that I didn't like. The beds could have been slightly more firm, but that's about it.

Review 15:Loved the reuse of an old monastery. The morning breakfast souffle was an unexpected treat.

Review 16:wish she were a little closer to the action, but they have a shuttle & cabs are easy to get...

Review 17:nice clean hotel for a reasonable price with king size beds.

Review 18:I enjoyed the stay with my girlfriend. We booked a king size room, which was clean, comfort and roomy. The staffs were very polite and offered great service.

Review 19:Staff was very friendly snd efficient. Room was large and very clean. Hotel was close to Carrier Dome and within walking distance of restaurants/ bars.

Review 20:Just disappointed with the price we payed for our room. There was no pool or hot tub in the hotel. The only thing there really was to do was go to the bar or go work out.

Review 21:Everything was very clean, the staff was very friendly.

Review 22:Sometimes the wi-if was slow. Otherwise no complaints.

Review 23:Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, loved the charm and extreme cleanliness of the hotel. Loved the bar , the available items In the store & hours open, and the available breakfast options. The regular house coffee was extremely good. The Eco friendly toiletries, energy and recyclables used very wisely. The shower was wonderful and had a good covering spray. Roomy & very comfortable, liked the reading lights and dual tv's in the suite, along with the private safe. The refrig is a nice perk. I liked the gated parking and security doors. A wonderful visit & will gladly stay again. Access to the University & downtown great. All around a grand visit...top of the line. Thank you! You made it very special. Quiet understated elegance and charm

Review 24:Maids who try to intimidate you into leaving your room in the morning (8am when checkout is 11am) - NOT COOL .(I don't care how clean the room is - I paid to stay until 11am - you should NOT try to pressure a guest into leaving before they are ready. EVER. And yes, I still left a good tip.) Tiny "fitness" room with no floor space to stretch.

Review 25:LOVE the fact that your hotel key turns on room power! Every hotel in US should adopt this strategy. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN room. Nice design choices. Bar in lobby very stylish - though we did not use. FREE Parking! Great lobby area for casual biz meetings.

Review 26:Floors I entry lobby were scuffed There is no handicap auto button to open the doors, you have to open the door manually as you manage all of your luggage

Review 27:The bed was awesome!

Review 28:No restaurant facilities although they had a bar and small "shop" to buy food items. Restaurants on Marshalls st is just a block away.

Review 29:Gorgeous rooms and bathrooms. Size of rooms good also, and the bathrooms. Nicely decorated. Our room had a king bed and sleep sofa. Has a safe. I liked the decor and cleanliness. That is what counts!

Review 30:"Didn't like" is too strong an expression, but they could take their eco-conscious approach even further by re-organizing their coffee-station in the lobby so that it generates less waste. They could also dedicate more of their parking lot to green space, or else see if they cannot acquire some of the surrounding lot to create more green yard space for the hotel.

Review 31:The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, the quality very, very good. I particularly appreciate their eco-friendliy approach.

Review 32:Walking distance to Syr Stage. Great if you have a child enrolled in SU drama. Walking distance to campus and on campus restaurants too.
