Reviews for Oleander House
Review 1:Not to be a whiner, but the shower was awful. It took us a while to even make it work. It actually needs a new shower-head.
Review 2:Beautiful location and house. The room was lovely. Very friendly staff and good food!
Review 3:Inflexible staff. Asked for a bite or roll for early morning bike tour since we could have a late breakfast. Were told he would not even able to leave a snack or anything in fridge for early departure.
Review 4:Location and comfort
Review 5:there was no personal service available at the hotel- there was no one available for questions or to reach out to. Simple essentials like bath gel was missing. It would be great to complement the homely hotel with personalised service when guests have any questions.
Review 6:The bed and breakfast hotel feels warm and homely and we absolutely were delighted by little details in the room. We also liked the concept of a sit down breakfast and interacting with the guests over evening wine.
Review 7:Shower was a little outdated - at least need better shower heads.
Review 8:Great Location. Christian was very nice and helpful. Comfy bed. Nice to have hot tub.
Review 9:We didn't get the room we booked (Spring) - for a bed and breakfast where each room is different I find this a problem especially where the room given was smaller and faced the road. The noise on Saturday afternoon was loud. We didn't realise the problem at first but the room didn't live up to expectations. I checked our booking on-line on Sunday morning and also saw the room we had booked. The Innkeeper was away on the Sunday and the replacement Innkeeper was very understanding asked for our email address and where we were staying Sunday night and said the permanent Innkeeper would contact us to sort it out - we requested a refund for the difference in room rates the temp Innkeeper confirmed the other couple had paid a cheaper rate although not low as the difference at booking.com. We were not contacted a all.The booking.com confirmation does not advise that rooms may be swapped. I notice that the inns website does now if needed to accommodate longer bookings this was not the case on the night we stayed. Very disappointed.
Review 10:we arrIved late that day and the owner stick the key on door, which was totally fine because we felt more like coming home opening the door by ourselves and skip all the check in section. The rooms are fabulous, well decorated, the wallpaper are absolutely delight, they got a little fire place every room and the bathroom is clean and bright. Towels and bed sheets are clean, staffs are very friendly and they cook amazing breakfast, stats with fresh local fruits. We had a wonderful stay there, highly recommended and actually there is a Michelin recommend restaurant 100meters away, cherish memories while staying there.
Review 11:My husband and I stayed in the downstair's bedroom which proved to be very noisy due to the traffic from Hwy 29. The upstairs bedrooms are much quieter so I would definitely recommend staying upstairs.
Review 12:The Oleander House is beautiful and the yard is exceptional with a hot tub and beautiful landscaping. The location is great since Mustard's Grill is within walking distance as is Cosentino's Winery. It is an easy drive to Napa or St. Helena.
Review 13:Lovely host Vic- gave us some great advice and helped us book into restaurants/ tours. Nice breakfast and wine hour every day. The most comfortable bed Iv'e ever slept on!
Review 14:The traffic noises kept us up all night. the bed was uncomfortable. the showerhead produces no water....the breakfast did not starts til 9 am.
Review 15:i like that it is in the middle of highway 29. It's not Yountville downtown, it may be in the city of Yountville.
Review 16:The inn was so comfortable and we felt right at home there. The inn's manager Vic not only made delicious breakfasts, but he was so friendly and helpful. The location was outstanding.
Review 17:Replacing shower head would enhance experience at little cost.
Review 18:Innkeeper outstanding. Very helpful. Gave local gift certs when we couldn't do breakfast.
Review 19:Loud traffic on Rte #29 esp during commute hours Difficult to pull in and out of driveway due to Rte #29 traffic Steep stairs to 2nd floor Carpeting shabby & needs cleaning Blinds in bedroom needed repair
Review 20:Large room size Room at back of house reduced Hwy #29 noise Breakfast & Happy Hour snacks were good
Review 21:My only (small) complaint is staying downstairs, the floors upstairs made a lot of noise when a guest upstairs would walk around which woke me up a few times...not a big deal, but if you're a light sleeper I would request a room upstairs.
Review 22:I loved the Oleander House for many reasons. First, the innkeeper was warm and friendly. She seemed to genuinely want us to have a wonderful time and was so much fun to chat with. Our room was the only room downstairs - it was beautiful and spacious with a comfy bed and a door to an outdoor patio. Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed getting to know our other guests. I would highly recommend the Oleander House!
Review 23:Shower head probably needs to be replaced. We mentioned to staff when leaving.
Review 24:Loved my room, staff, breakfast and location. Next door to Musterd's Restaurant, our favorite. Quiet, serene and no small children - perfect! Vic was amazing and helpful. My favorite B&B experience ever! Can't wait to go back.
Review 25:Room number one suffers from some road noise at night. It is less Friday, Sat and Sunday. The other rooms facing the back of the house do not suffer from the noise. I suggest to replace the screens at the balcony door with glass so two doors will complete doors separate the room from outside.
Review 26:Large room Only 5 rooms. It was intimate; like being at a friends house and arriving there after the daily activities it was just like arriving home. Very clean Excellent breakfast 5 pm wine and cheese reception every day. Location: Central to everything in the Napa Valley Access to computer with wifi Magnificent outdoor Jacuzzi.
Review 27:Sign on Hwy 29 was tiny. Passed the place twice. No one available before 4 pm. Unable to accommodate earlier departure ( 8 AM) for included breakfast.
Review 28:Property is within a hundred feet of a very noisy highway and traffic is non stop 24 hours per day. The rooms have not been updated for quite some time. Sleep was difficult due to highway roar. Poor and unprotected parking. Price is excessive and advertising is misleading.
Review 29:Convenience
Review 30:If you are coming from the south, you need to take care to cross the highway so you can get into the parkway. The traffic there can keep you waiting quite a while to be able to cross.
Review 31:The staff is super friendly. Breakfast was delicious and you get to talk to the other guests sitting around the long table. The room is very comfortable and quiet. A superb stay!
Review 32:We arrived there around 8:00 pm and there was no staff on site. The door lock to the deck did not work. We worried about the safety, so we left a couple of messages to the management. We did not get any phone back on that night. Next day, i asked the manager about the lock problem, he said that the non working door lock is not against the building code in that area....
Review 33:Food choices were limited for breakfast. One morning was only carbs. Said champagne breakfast but we weren't offered any. Our patio furniture was very dirty and we had to clean it. The furniture on back porch was also too dirty to sit on. It was very pleasant and staff were helpfully before arrival (helped book us a dinner reservation because we arrived late) but felt it was over priced.

Review 61:I was only able to stay one night and had to leave early in the morning, thus I didn't enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the lovely dining room.
Review 62:Delightful entryway and welcoming onsite manager started my Oleander House experience. The room was very tastefully decorated including a very comfortable bed. I had fun chatting with other guests over late afternoon wine and snacks as well as early risers before I left.
