Reviews for Parkview Hotel

Review 1:We wished that there were electrical outlets closer to the nightstands so we could more conveniently charge our phones.

Review 2:We had a beautiful, spacious room. The bed was really comfortable. And we really appreciated the complimentary breakfast!

Review 3:I truly didn't have a bad experience, but I think you should train your desk people to be friendly and welcoming. When I checked in, the young lady didn't smile, wasn't helpful and welcoming.

Review 4:We took two rooms in a cold fall night, and in both of them there was no proper heating system , just a dis-functioning AC that refused to work properly and quietly.

Review 5:Overall, room was just ok, bathroom could have been cleaner. Beds were not comfortable. Breakfast was mediocre, my colleagues who have stayed before said it had been better the prior year.

Review 6:Location downtown was good. For the price there are other options in area.

Review 7:This is a well run hotel with attentive staff. The beds are very comfortable and the fitness center was a happy find. My 9yo son enjoyed the free hot breakfast!

Review 8:This place was great! I stayed another prominent hotel in the area and the ParkView was by far the superior establishment. Great staff, clean rooms and a very straightforward presentation. The staff at the frontdesk are very friendly and accommodating! Of note, Mikayla (frontdesk) and Pat (cleaning service) were very pleasant to deal with!

Review 9:Well we always leave earlier than the breakfast, but that's our doing.

Review 10:We always stay at the Parkview when we are in Syracuse. Excellent accommodation and very central.

Review 11:Just one small downside...the bed was a smidge too soft. I was ok the first night, but I woke up the second night feeling like I did max weight deadlifts the day before.. And I do not normally have back issues. Despite the firmness not being what I am used to, the bedding was new, fresh and plush. This is not so much a "negative"...this is more a statement of personal preference.

Review 12:I felt like this was a great hotel overall. The staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate their guests. For the area, it was a great value...the renovations on the original interiors fixtures kept the "vintage" feel, but gave it a comforting feel of being "new". It was a very cute room we were in. I highly recommended for Syracuse.

Review 13:The only thing travelers should note, is I would recommend taking a cab between dusk and dawn. Walking in the dark is hit or miss for safety according to the police officers I spoke to.

Review 14:Wouldn't stay on the first floor again, it was a bit noisy.

Review 15:Good location. Walked to a great restaurant for dinner, only a couple of blocks away. Nice updated older hotel. Lots of personality.

Review 16:Wish we would have known about the complimentary van to downtown, it could have saved us time and money finding parking.

Review 17:Everything was just perfect! My husband & I booked a room for ourselves & another room for my mother & aunt; we all had a fantastic time and really enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely stay again.

Review 18:The breakfast was okay but not great, the fruit was available but didn't look very good as fresh fruit goes. And the availability of convenience items for purchase was very limited. They only had one foil pack of Advil and no razors at all.

Review 19:The staff was very helpful with recommendations for dining with young kids, and gave me a great recommendation and map for running in Syracuse University.

Review 20:Perhaps rods in tubs for safety Room doors slammed ... Noisy More fresh seasonal fruit at breakfast

Review 21:Rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Review 22:There were no bottles of water in the room, breakfast pastries, bagels etc. no good, need fresh fruit, maybe granola. Also, need access to wine and cheese, crackers, nuts and fruit for evenings. The cleaning staff bothered us all morning, asking us when we were leaving, kind if rude! I really don't think cleaning carts should be blocking the hallways and elevators, while people are trying to go to breakfast and carry luggage! They were just letting themselves in the rooms, up & down the hallways without knowledge of whether people had checked out! If someone wants service, they hang the card! Maids should not just let themselves in the room early morning, when people are showering and dressing! We were literally attacked by one in the hallway, 3 times, asking us when we were checking out, between 8 & 10, as we were coming and going from the room!! HATED THAT!

Review 23:The front desk person was extremely helpful and cheerful, which is why I stayed! The beds were nicely made up.

Review 24:While the maid generally kept the room clean, as the days went on, she would leave the throw pillows in various places- sometimes on the floor in the corner, for example. Not a problem, just peculiar.

Review 25:Comfortable bed was wonderful! Having the suite with kitchenette was handy and made my stay much more economical. The character and friendliness of the hotel made it a home away from home.

Review 26:Even though the hotel is close to downtown, I'd not recommend to walk there, especially at night time, because the hotel is separated from the downtown by an interstate and the area below the viaduct does not look safe

Review 27:Very good breakfast. No problems with parking. Stable wi-fi. There is a nice tapas place at a walking distance from the hotel

Review 28:Travelling with pet who was going to be crated the entire time. Didn't feel I should have to pay for her sleeping there. A deposit to make sure there was no property damage, that the property was left in the manor it was accepted in.

Review 29:Hotel rooms were clean.

Review 30:I had reserved 2 King Studio rooms and received one King Studio and one king room

Review 31:Hotel was clean, breakfast very good, location was close to fairgrounds

Review 32:We did mention that we would pay cash and the amount was still frozen on my credit card without telling me which is a little disappointing

Review 33:Beautiful rooms, comfortable bed, spacious room and very nice staff overall.

Review 34:My daughter stayed there with a couple of girlfriends from LeMoyne. It was a great, safe location. The price was great, the room was very large , breakfast was great and the staff was very accommodating when I called to see if they could check in early. We've stayed at a lot of hotels since she started at LeMoyne. This was the first one near downtown and it didn't dusapooint. Just wish there was a pool.

Review 35:The free wi-fi is quite slow. It took quite a while to send out an email or just watch a 1-minute video on youtube. Also, the air-conditioning unit is noisy, and I did not get a goodnight of sleep because of it.

Review 36:The location is excellent, only few minutes away from the Syracuse University campus where you will find food and convenient stores. There are nice restaurants across the street. The room is very spacious and clean.

Review 37:Loved the intimate boutique atmosphere, beautifully decorated, loved the front lounge area with the fireplace, loved the large room, comfortable beds and plantation shutters, nice bathroom. Great value for the quality. I guess we liked the hotel very much! =)

Review 38:location - poor view and no amenities - (pool)

Review 39:I was pleasantly surprised at the Well-equipped, spacious rooms - . Nice breakfast and nice bar in the evening. Friendly staff.

Review 40:I had to work in Syracuse for four days, and the Parkview was the best part of the trip. The breakfast was awesome, the front desk staff was so friendly and accommodating, and everything was very clean and fresh.

Review 41:Construction in the front of the hotel, made it difficult to get into, parking and entering in rear. Bathrooms small and need updating.

Review 42:Staff was great, shuttle great, room spacious

Review 43:Fitness center is lacking equipment.

Review 44:Well-maintained older property with nicely appointed, comfortable room. Breakfast was very good with more available than is typical for a complimentary meal.

Review 45:I ask for a higher floor got the ground and could hear the cars starting up in the morning and the flush of the toilet from the upstairs room .

Review 46:Good area near Su and complimentary Breakfast and transport to the airport.

Review 47:Pillows were a bit too firm

Review 48:Hotel was very attractive, staff were nice and welcoming. Easy check-in/out. Parking was easy and convenient. Close to college campus.

Review 49:Our corner room was beautiful, nicely appointed with white plantation shutters and nice bed linens. Bathroom was very spacious, nice tile work and amenities. Hotel lobby was cozy with leather chairs and fireplace. Rate included a nice hot breakfast buffet.

Review 50:Arriving at the front door amongst all the construction I quickly learned I had to move because I was blocking traffic I had no idea there was a parking lot in the back But then had to go back to the front to get in.yes eventually my room card got me in the back doir but it wasn't the best set up Beds were also way to soft

Review 51:It was clean

Review 52:I was truly happy with everything! The hotel has this great charm to it and it is eco friendly which although not top of my priority list is still really nice. It was my first trip to Syracuse and to the hotel. Definitely worth staying at.

Review 53:The staff was fast, efficient and quick to cater to each and every guests if they we're the most important person. What an amazing boutique style property. Truly the gem of Syracuse.

Review 54:The parking area was very small behind the hotel.

Review 55:The room was totally updated with luxury bedding...It was close to The Oncenter venue...Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Review 56:Get the service elevator working

Review 57:The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Bathroom was spotless. Very quiet for sleeping. Excellent retrofit of an older building. Breakfast was delightful. Will come right back again. Kevin, Warwick, NY

Review 58:the construction that was going on which could not be helped on the street that we had to come in on.

Review 59:friendly people in hotel. able to have breakfast there not having to go out if we didn't want to.

Review 60:There was no microwave in our room so what we wanted to heat up we had to bring down to the lobby and microwave there, and the breakfast selection wasn't as large as other hotel breakfasts we've attended. Overall a good time.

Review 61:The room was clean and quite, it was easy to park in the back and come in with our luggage. The breakfast was tasty. Overall a good time.

Review 62:Beds were small, air conditioner was loud, big crack in the window and the location was a bit scary coming in at night.

Review 63:Liked the bedding and room cleanliness.

Review 64:Was not pleased with the location of the hotel.

Review 65:The hotel was charming, staff was friendly, & helpful. The rooms were comfortable & clean. Very good value for the money

Review 66:Everthing was great

Review 67:Beds room, bartender, bar, coziness of the hotel, close to destiny USA front desk clerk. Being able to buy liquor at the marketplace

Review 68:I cannot think of a thing I didnt like.

Review 69:Staff was great and the location was easy. rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable.Would definitely recommend!

Review 70:that we didn't get to stay longer ;(

Review 71:the quality of the room, having a kitchenette, the breakfast in the morning (they had skim milk and light yogurt--so hard to find those when I am traveling), but mostly it was just a random hotel we booked as we were dropping our daughter off in Ithaca and there were no hotel rooms left there, so we totally lucked out when we found this on booking.com and the price was really low the staff was so friendly and the facility was very clean and really nice the shower was great we will now stay there every time we need to be in the area

Review 72:Not much nearby... Our GPS allowed us to find the kind of restaurant we wanted on our way to the hotel

Review 73:We got what we were expecting Clean room with a nice decor in an older building - could have better quality furniture / mattress was good, some might want to bring their own pillow. Wi-Fi worked perfectly Breakfast was above average for one that is included in the price. Price was reasonable at $125 compared to $200/300 we saw on some sites. Some mentioned parking as an issue - we were lucky. We got the last one available.

Review 74:Parking in the back a little cramped but it all worked out. It's the city!!!

Review 75:It is conveniently located to Syracuse University, easy to find off of main highway, and the room was very clean and comfortable. Will stay here again!!!

Review 76:Location I think is the biggest down side, we only stayed one night on our way through town.

Review 77:Staff were friendly, there is a free shuttle service into town, and the receptionists recommendation on a restaurant was excellent, all be it a little pricey.

Review 78:My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay for a family wedding in the Finger Lakes Region of NY. The Parkview Hotel room was delightfully charming and spacious - with a kitchenette. It was the perfect size, and, thankfully, the front desk allowed us to check in early. After the wedding, my family was able to gather in our room to visit and we had plenty of space to chat. The room was bright, and had a wonderful vintage design. The breakfast was delicious too!

Review 79:We stayed in Syracuse for just the night to break up the trip from Toronto to the east coast. We found a very good deal for Parkview on this site and the feedback was very positive. Certainly no complaints. The bedroom was super comfortable for a family of 4 and included a decent breakfast. The front desk was very friendly upon arrival and switched us out of a room with a king to 2 doubles without any questions or extra costs. Although we were tired upon arrival, there were lots of good restaurants very close by. Great location and close to the highway.

Review 80:I can't think of anything. Really, the nicest hotel we've stayed in and we'll definitely be back.

Review 81:We not only appreciated the beautifully decorated room and comfortable beds, but the breakfast was fresh and delicious - with real and fresh bagels! The staff were very friendly and we felt welcomed. The decor throughout does the building justice, tasteful and elegant.

Review 82:No real issues. Breakfast was basic cold continental and generally unremarkable but given the price for a lovely environment with breakfast included...no complaints.

Review 83:The decor, the rooms, the quiet, lovely place to stay in Syracuse. The price was excellent as well! Much nicer than staying at the brand hotels for the usual shopping trip.

Review 84:I've stayed in Syracuse many times and was pleasantly surprised to find the Parkview. The rooms were of good size for an old building with modern amenities. The last hotel I was in had wi-fi issues, so i was pleasantly surprised that although I was on the top floor, wi-fi had no issues.

Review 85:This and another hotel were close to the freeway, so if you are a very light sleeper avoid both of these. The breakfast was pretty spartan, and environmentally wasteful as they relied on plastic plates and cutlery. If you are visiting for the university consider spending the extra bucks and staying at the Sheraton - it's 100% better and super convenient.

Review 86:Location not bad for downtown area Staff ok Room clean and comfortable

Review 87:Great Value for the hotel. The rooms were modern and very clean. The breakfast in the morning was great, so many options! One of the better hotels I have stayed at!

Review 88:The only negative was that the parking lot was very small, although we found a spot.

Review 89:Check in was very smooth, our room was clean and very spacious, breakfast was clean, abundant, and tasty. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. Our room had nice large drawers and plenty of space to spread out.

Review 90:Beds were comfy. Enjoyed breakfast.

Review 91:The little convenient store in the lobby.

Review 92:The rooms where not comfortable and no cabinet on the room, the Breakfast is very poor.

Review 93:The Location is perfect

Review 94:No garage. No restaurant.

Review 95:Staff was incredibly nice and accommodating.

Review 96:Breakfast was no better than a Holiday Inn Express: plastic everything, and limited food

Review 97:Great location, comfortable hotel, large room

Review 98:Next to freeway, noisy Noisy AC

Review 99:Breakfast included and free shuttle service

Review 100:The well stocked and priced convenience Mart.
