Reviews for Grand America Hotel

Review 1:Your booking got extremely mixed up and wasn't even there when we checked in. The hotel scrambled to accommodate us but the whole reservation experience was a mess. I do not know who carries the blame because I checked and confirmed several times before we arrived so we wouldn't have any problems. I had 21 people with me and 6 rooms.

Review 2:We really loved the facility and service. It was safe and convenient to the city sites.

Review 3:Access to buy things other then room service and they charge 15.00 bucks for parking even though you pay 300.00 in hotel room

Review 4:Room and court yard beautiful

Review 5:For this caliber of hotel there were things that were in need of attention - hairdryer would not stay in position, kept closing while being used. Rip/hole in duvet cover. Shower head needed cleaning and water flow was poor

Review 6:Location, but no area shuttle to anywhere other than Airport. Check in desk staff could not answer questions about local area/transport/events happening that weekend or times of Sunday breakfast buffet - given wrong ending time, therefore, missed breakfast buffet on Sunday

Review 7:The staff are not friendly and welcoming. Very few spoke to us while we were walkiing around the hotel. Didn't find many smiles for it being a holiday event. VERY disappointed in the Thanksgiving dinner. We ordered from the menu. Our food was COLD and the second time the server brought me a new plate, it was colder than the first one. It had very little taste to any of the courses. Our experience with breakfast was about the same with the buffet. Very V ery disappointed in service, staff, and food.

Review 8:We have stayed at your venue several time under our son Brian Tallerico's name. We do like almost everything about it. The hotel can not be beat for beauty, cleaniness, location, amenities

Review 9:From the moment we checked in until we left our party was treated buy staff that were knowledgeable and efficient yet thoughtful and caring. Excellent stay.

Review 10:The only thing that would have made our stay better would be if there was a coffee machine in the room.

Review 11:Beautiful hotel in a perfect location for walking to Temple Square, the Capitol, the library and many nice restaurants. Free trolley right outside the front door would also take you to Temple Square and other points.

Review 12:Poor breakfast service. Hostess was inexperienced and out of her depth when 7 guests arrived at same time. We had to wait and wait... Beds too soft. Shouldn't have to pay for car vale ting service overnight.

Review 13:Classy and elegant facilities

Review 14:On arrival our reservation through Booking.com was not on the hotels reservation system. It took 15 minutes to resolve through the front desk having to phone the central booking system. Not a good start.

Review 15:location to downtown Salt Lake City beauty of facility staff was awesome ! my granddaughters were in heaven - 2 are 15 years old and 1 is 13 thanks for making it a great memory

Review 16:Staying at Grand America was on my daughters must do list this summer. It's her favorite hotel, her favorite bakery and toy store. We love the facility and the wonderful staff.

Review 17:Nothing, it was a beautiful hotel - just a shame we only were able to stay one night due to our itinerary.

Review 18:The quality of finishing touches, standard of cuisine and helpfulness of staff.

Review 19:TV remote in the living area did not work.

Review 20:We enjoyed our whole stay. Price is much better than the Park City hotels we've tried out, Sunday Brunch was amazing, Saturday breakfast was great, pool and poolside food were good, suite was roomy enough for the family, courtyard was great for my son to run around in, and the shops were awesome. We'll definitely come back.

Review 21:My breakfast was served with eggs that had uncooked egg whites, for $20 that's unacceptable. Our bellhop came into our room with us and showed us how to use things in our room, while I'm in my wedding dress obviously on our honeymoon it just seemed a bit weird that he was hanging out with us. Charging for parking seems excessive.

Review 22:The grounds and the hotel were beautiful. Our room was great they put us on the top floor because we were on our honeymoon.

Review 23:nothing not to like......

Review 24:The modern "baroque" building with all the splendor of an old European mansion complete with marble floors, gleaming woodwork and Murano chandeliers.

Review 25:Good on-site parking (good sized bays and lots of them!), shame they charge so much for 24hrs.

Review 26:Good large room, very comfortable with great views over the city. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely use of marble and wood in the public areas.

Review 27:You had to pay extra for everything! It cost me $33 to have them park my car! The hotel charges you $10 to swim in their pool! This place is too "high class" for me. Wish I would have stayed at the Little America.

Review 28:Property and grounds were beautiful...very clean.

Review 29:My dessert one evening was very hard and cold and I was a bit shocked by the 7 dollar yogurt parfait that contained about 1 Tbs of granola and 3 raspberries.

Review 30:Everything and everyone went above and beyond. What a wonderful experience.

Review 31:Final price was much different than quoted with extra fees also added and a huge up charge for the weekend. You couldn't use many amenities like the hotel pool without paying extra.

Review 32:Beautiful hotel close to many things.

Review 33:After a night in heels I just wanted to soak in the tub. The cold water and the drain did not work. They gave us room credit but was still disappointed I wasn't able to get comfortable.

Review 34:Loved the appearance of the hotel/room. Staff was friendly. Rooms were great, turn down service was nice.

Review 35:The king bed was too firm for a mature couple.

Review 36:The décor was very beautiful, the grounds were beautiful, room was spotless. The ambience of the room was very comfortable. We would love to stay again.

Review 37:Friendly staff. We used the restaurant at Little America which we liked better than the restaurant in the Grand America which we have visited on previous visits.

Review 38:Only the cost. But it was still worth it to me to see my wife relax and sleep.

Review 39:The cleanliness, interior design. Pure elegance. And above all else it was a time to take a breather from caring for a child with stage 4 cancer. We only wish we could have stayed longer. So thank you.

Review 40:The single complaint I have is the bed. It was too soggy in the center so my lady was basically getting rolled over on all night. I outweigh her by 75lbs...so she had a rough night

Review 41:The staff, The Valet, The Food, The Spa, The Pool, The Rooms, The 360 Shower, The tub, The Views, The Location, The Decor, The Architecture

Review 42:The quality of the food from room service was terrible! In fact, the Margarita Pizza was inedible! They left the cart and dirty dishes in the hall all night, which was quite smelling by morning. The room was just OK. Nothing special for the price. Even the chocolate on the pillows was terrible! It was a very disappointing experience.

Review 43:* Charge for additional plates and utensils. Seemed chintz for a 5 star hotel when I'm paying premium. * Poor communication within housekeeping department to service room on New Year's day, but staff did do a late night recovery.

Review 44:* Location * Accommodating Staff * Spacious Suite * No Resort Fee * Nice Spa at reasonable charges. * Excellent New Year's Day buffet. * Much improved from my last stay here before children.

Review 45:The reservation I did through Booking .com was not available at the check-in I gave laundry bag at 7 am and in the evening was not in my room. They went looking for it and it had not been done. As I was leaving the following day, I took the clothes as they were.

Review 46:The SPA Food in general good

Review 47:What can I say, almost perfect in every way. Door bell rang and Ice and candy delivered to your room. Pretty much every thing is perfect at this place. Hard to beat for the price in Salt lake. Same room in vegas would be double and triple in New York. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Review 48:NOTHING

Review 49:The entire working staff at your hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. I have stayed in hotels around the world and this was the most friendly, comfortable and "want to come back" hotel we have ever stayed in!

Review 50:It's expensive! But, what do you expect?

Review 51:Absolutely stunning facilities, views, location, everything is top notch from top to bottom. They accommodated our early check-in without a hitch and presented us with a cute little parting gift for celebrating with them. We'll be back, if we can afford it.

Review 52:Housekeeping was a bit uneven. Sometimes our beds were made with the spread, sometimes not. We got chocolate one night, not another. I like my toiletries changed everyday and they weren't.

Review 53:Lovely, big room.

Review 54:Nothing not to like.

Review 55:Superb hotel close to the downtown hub of SLC. Trolley out front if you don't want to take the short walk. Almost palatial room, very comfortable, clean with a great view to the mountains.. and very friendly courteous staff.
