Reviews for North Temple Inn
Review 1:Cleaning crew too eager to clean at an early hour. Couldn't turn off the heating fan. Toilet threatened to overflow (never did). I like a softer bed.
Review 2:Quiet. Soft pillows. Easy access. I liked that the whole facility was locked all the time. Everything else (note didn't like section) worked very well. Price was very reasonable.
Review 3:The heater in our room sounded like a jet engine, at some points in the night I honestly thought it was about to take off.
Review 4:Staff were really helpful when we had to check in very late and the breakfast goes from 6am-10am, accommodating sleep-ins and early departures! The location was really great, so easy to get to from Amtrak or Greyhound - its all in the free trax zone.
Review 5:We had to wait for there system to check in which took a ridiculous amount of time and when we had to swipe the card that was to open the door to the part of the hotel where our room was located it took several times to swipe before it would work and it was extremely cold out, very disappointing
Review 6:It was very clean!
Review 7:The facility is older. There was some wood trim and wallpaper trim missing in our room like furniture hadn't been moved when the work was done. A broken outlet plate was on the floor.
Review 8:The price for the accommodations was good. The employees were very friendly. Our room was clean.
Review 9:It's the worst motel, I have never seen before. they are Laying. They charged me 300$ for coffee maker although I didn't used. They accused me of stealing coffee maker although it was in bathroom and I didn't use it ever. They rode and not respectful. I am still to demand my money. Be careful to reserve in this worst motel.
Review 10:Some of the towels had black marks on them and when our room was serviced we didn't get new clean pillows and one of the blankets as well.
Review 11:I loved the location perfect distance from downtown and food spots.
Review 12:Bed was very comfortable breakfast was great, liked being close to the exit door, parked close to the door and could see car from my window, close to family so they could vusit.
Review 13:Shower / tub had problems with diverter value on tub. When filling the tub, the shower came on at the same time.
Review 14:close to my destination - VA Hospital
Review 15:The water regulator didn't work well as the shower would go from hot to cold without warning. Also the bathroom lighting was inadequate for grooming and makeup application.
Review 16:Best location for events at temple square!
Review 17:Friendly front desk employees. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff offered to store our luggage when we checked out so we didn't have to carry it with us all day. Nice ride that evening back to the airport.
Review 18:The shower water went from extremely hot to extremely cold multiple times.
Review 19:We enjoyed being within walking distance of Temple Square and the Salt Palace.
Review 20:Breakfast was not great, but it was free. I've just seen comparably priced establishments do a much better job with a free breakfast. I had to hunt down an employee to check out in the morning.
Review 21:Food nearby. Train nearby. Rooms much nicer than we expected.
Review 22:Not real convienent to restaurants or trax if you don't have a car, but walkable if you're up to it.
Review 23:Comfortable, quiet, affordable and a nice view of downtown.
Review 24:The room above us had a toilet that ran all through the night! I wanted to run up and shake the toilet handle! :|
Review 25:Overall great experience! One of the employees even jumped my car for me, because we left a light on all night and the battery was dead!! So nice! Thank you :)
Review 26:should keep provision for round pin charger. Not able to charge laptop and mobile due to round shaped pins of my charger. In US its rectangular, so connecting units or multi pin point charger should be placed or kept for selling.
Review 27:In the heart of city. safe and secure. comfortable. Economical and a good value for money.
Review 28:Breakfast was very lacking. The ability to sleep through the night due to noise of water pipes and heater fan noise, (although we did have the room changed after the first night but found only minimal change in level of the noise).
Review 29:The location and cleanliness of the motel and room. Staff were helpful.
Review 30:This is a terrible, run down, poorly maintained, uncomfortable, gross place to stay. I had to change rooms because literally everything (TV, coffee maker, sink..) was broken in the first one. The tv's are from 1980 with terrible reception and poor quality, the rooms are so run down you feel like you're in a horror movie. and you pay around $120 per night!! Give me a break!!! Gross!!! And they don't tell you that half the rooms are MOTEL (outside)
Review 31:Nothing except the location
Review 32:His shuttle from airport does not work earlier. We did the check-out arround 4.40 am, and we could not take a coffe or some breakfast. We paid for that. The breakfast is in a little dining room and there is not place for everyone. Very poor breakfast.
Review 33:The location.
Review 34:I was on the ground floor and i wish there would havr been sheers on the window so i could keep the curtins open more
Review 35:Room was really clean. Location was great. And the price was right.
Review 36:We went down for the breakfast they offered we were going to have a bagel and they had mold on serval of them so i went to let the person at the front desk know and all he,said was go tell pedro and i did not see anyone else to tell about let know about the bagles so i would stay there again but would not go eat there breakfast the staff was not friendly acting like we were just bother the staff at the front desk
Review 37:The place was clean and the beds were comfortable
Review 38:Breakfast was very basic so I skipped it. Also the breakfast room was too small. Seemed to be understaffed.
Review 39:Convenient, clean, safe. the staff that helped with the airport shuttle were very nice.
Review 40:The breakfast options are only so-so but considering it's included with the room, no complaints here.
Review 41:We have stayed here on our SLC trips for years. Conventions, concerts or just a weekend getaway. The location is terrific, the rooms are clean and comfortable and you cannot beat the value!
Review 42:It's right downtown and easy to find. The motel has a throwback feel to it from the car traveling days of yore. It has obviously been updated a few times over the years. Everything was clean and fresh and smelled good (vanilla or lavender in the hallways). Mostly continental breakfast.
Review 43:Breakfast was real poor. And there is almost no place to have breakfast either, far too small in comparison to the number of rooms. Tables were not cleaned while we were there, so we had to clean our table before use.
Review 44:The location of this hotel is excellent, walking distance from Temple Square. The room was good and decorated nicely. We also liked the decision to omit a bathtub in favor of a good size shower place - better this than having a very small bathtub in which you can hardly sit nor stand for a shower. The price was more than fair for what we got.
Review 45:Don't know for sure but this is the only place I used my CC on my trip. The day after my CC number was being used to buy something in TX. Now I don't have a CC for a week and I need it for my next trip.
Review 46:Desk staff was very helpful
Review 47:The room was not very clean. I noticed a large bug in the bathroom and ants on the nightstand.
Review 48:Good location. Was able to check in at 3pm the evening clerk was very friendly unlike the clerk at check out.
Review 49:I wish they had refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms. The continental breakfast is pretty minimal (cereal, toast, and canned fruit)
Review 50:Great location and value. Clean rooms and friendly staff.
Review 51:The pillows on the bed were so lumpy it felt like there were rocks in it covered with some stuffing. Caused me to not sleep well and to have neck pain. Mattress support not good; needed to be replaced. Had sore back the next day.
Review 52:Nice-looking, clean room. Friendly front desk staff. cooling system in room worked. TV worked ok.
Review 53:Layout of facility not good. Breakfast area small and poor layout. Lobby needs major work.
Review 54:Staff was very busy yet very professional and welcoming. Facility old outdated yet clean and met our needs. Good value
Review 55:Bathroom door would not open all the way to make room for the outward arching shower curtain rod. The rod had been busted halfway off the wall as a result. And because of that the shower curtain would sink the the bottom of the arch making it impossible to keep the bathroom floor from flooding.
Review 56:Breakfast room was small, but we always managed to find a seat if you just ask to share.
Review 57:Location was superb! Nice safe area and easy walk to the sights at Temple Square and surrounding area. The breakfast was good for continental, as it included oatmeal and bagels and cream cheese along with cereal and toast. More than adequate to start your day.
Review 58:The room smelled bad, was kind of dirty and run down, old TV that took up a lot of space, handicap bars in bathroom so I couldn't sit on the toilet properly.
Review 59:It was conveniently located for me.
Review 60:Very thin walled, noisy hotel. Unable to sleep because of the noise of slamming doors and showering guests all through the night.
Review 61:Location was good: easy on the way to the airport.
Review 62:Bedbugs!!!!!! My fiancé got into bed and fell asleep. I was about totuenboffthe light and get into bed when I noticed two bedbugs on the pillows next to his. I swatted then away and stayed up all night to make sure my fiancé wouldn't get bit. When he woke up I had him get out of the bed. Found the bugs and put them in a cup & took them to the front desk.
Review 63:The staff was very professional and friendly. Made us feel welcome.
Review 64:The breakfast food available was not healthy. All the cereals were sugar covered, although there was a selection. No fresh fruit. No eggs or other protein food.
Review 65:I didn't know ahead of time that they had free pickup at the airport, but I phoned after I arrived and was told that they did. That was very nice. I also liked the security.
Review 66:Minimal breakfast choices.
Review 67:Great location (easy access from the airport. Walking distance to the temple). Very nice staff. Super-fast Wi-fi. Good price.
Review 68:For $100 per night...cracked walls, sticky spots on the floor, open panel above the toilet with wires hanging out, and outdated everything wasn't what I'd call a good deal.
Review 69:Location was good.
Review 70:Air conditioning unit worked meaning it blew cold air, but The fan would Not stay on continuous through the night to create an ambient noise. it had a auto med and high fan setting but even when selected in high it would act as if in auto and turn off when the ac turned off.
Review 71:Just What I expected. A clean affordable place to stay with friendly staff.
Review 72:breakfast is somehow poor, but i'm not so fond of breakfasts anyhow so it's not much of a concern to me.
Review 73:Very nice hotel at a reasonable price very close to the temple, city center and to public transportation. rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped. the temple and large malls and shopping centers are a short walking distance. bottom line, a very nice place to stay at SLC and good value for the money.
Review 74:They could work a bit more on the breakfast, everything is cold.
Review 75:Considering the price you pay and the location it is an excellent hotel. Good location, nice beds, excellent WiFi, clean.
Review 76:Unfortunately this motel is right down the street from the largest drug-selling locale in the area (Pioneer Park). We came across many people who were both high and armed (due to Utah's open carry policy). If you stay here, do not go out after dark.
Review 77:The accommodations were nice. We appreciated the coffee maker in the room.
Review 78:The place is a train wreck, mattress rolled us to middle and could not walk on rug without something on feet cause it was filthy. Shower was a stall! Horrible place.
Review 79:Closeness to what we stayed for
Review 80:Breakfast doesn't vary so if you are there a while it might get dull.
Review 81:it is a low price place and therefore it is pretty simple... but it does that quite well.
Review 82:The breakfast sucks. Not a lot of choices and unpleasant. The staffs were not always available. We had to wait for somebody to accommodate us during check in and check out. The worst is the free shuttle to the airport. It starts at 8:00 in morning! Other hotels starts at 5:00 or earlier. We had an early flight so we ended up paying for other shuttle service.
Review 83:I like the location. It is in the heart of Salt Lake City. Close to the Mormon Temple and Capitol State. The swimming pool is small but relaxing and it seems like exclusive when we used it because we were the only guests who used the pool at that time.
Review 84:Perhaps a bit outdated bathroom, but it was clean, the room comes with free toiletries, coffee and a coffee-maker, a safe...
Review 85:Really good value for money - the hotel has all the amenities; the room comes with free toiletries, coffee and a coffee-maker, a safe; the hotel makes some effort with their breakfast...
Review 86:Dark at night if you are a woman walking around town alone.
Review 87:Location, close to alot of things. Pool is nice. Staff friendly. Deli owned by hotel owners has pretty yummy food. Free shuttle
Review 88:Did not run credit card. Had said it was for my son when reserveration was made and they charged him $378 . They hung up on my wife 7 times and refused to let her talk to the management. Was told credit card would be ran at time reservation es made which was made at least 6 days prior to his stay. Would not recommend either booking. Com or north temple inn .
Review 89:Nothing.
Review 90:The shower was unpleasant - particularly the water temp fluctuating, and the cramped space. Also, you can hear everyone outside the room, and the air conditioning unit is loud. Breakfast was inedible for me - everything was gluten and sugar. The facility itself seems run-down.
Review 91:The room was clean, functional and comfortable. Filtered water refills in office was nice.
Review 92:We arrived very late after driving 2 days to get there and was starving. Our first impression of this hotel was very bad. It is in a slummy area and when we asked what food we could get delivered at the late hour we arrived the worker at the front desk told us to call papajohn's pizza. When we called they told us they would not deliver to our hotel because Their delvery driver had been robbed there.I called 3 other pizza places and each one said the same thing. We had no other place to stay for our time in Salt lake so was stuck there for 3 days.I have never been more happy to check out!! Rude people. very smelly, bed was hard and we did not feel safe there at all.Price was not worth it. This is the nastiest hoteI have ever stayed in. Horrible experience!!
Review 93:Nothing! Worst experiece ever!
Review 94:The staff on the desk at our arrival & on checking out were very matter of fact and unfriendly . The kitchen where the microwave was off the foyer was disgusting both the microwave & the floor were in a terrible state .
Review 95:Our room was clean and spacious . The pool was great after a hot drive .
Review 96:I didn't like bedbugs in my room. The furnishing could use a lot of renovating.
Review 97:The staff was really friendly and as helpful as they could be. Clean bedsheets and towels every day. The location's great as well.
Review 98:Breakfast, as European you expect more than baggles cornflakes and coffee... I missed cheese, eggs,...fresh fruits. And breakfast should be filled before not when it is empty
Review 99:Pool, free wifi and a PC to print traveling documents, free shuttle service to the airport, good location to walk to town, help to book guided trips
Review 100:Wrong side of town. The neighborhood within a couple of blocks feels a little sketchy at night. Breakfast is the bare minimum only. Rate was double the normal rate due to the Outdoor Retailer Exhibition, which I was there to attend, being in town. I booked late and the location worked well. Under different circumstances not sure I would stay again.
Review 101:Convenient walk to Salt Palace. Clean and recently painted. Bed was comfortable.
Review 102:We stayed during a time when a convention was going on and the price was double what it normally was. The shower head leaked really bad when turned on the bathroom wasn't that clean.
Review 103:The location was really nice, easy walking distance to energy solutions arena! The bed was really comfortable and the room was good sized!
Review 104:If you're looking for modern or posh, this place is not for you, but North Temple Inn was a pleasant surprise for the money, and the staff was particularly helpful and friendly. If I'm in SLC again, I'll stay at the North Temple Inn.
Review 105:Had a fine for smoking in room and our room smelled smoky. Was change to another and the water pipes were very noisy all night. Had room changed again for the second night and was on the top floor and all was quiet.
Review 106:Within walking distance to temple. Easy parking
Review 107:The rooms are a bit outdated, but clean and that's more important than current decor.
Review 108:Close to the venue we were attending, and cleanliness of the rooms.
Review 109:The toilet didn't flush when we first checked in, had to call the front desk to have the plumber come up first thing. They were charging for parking spaces for outside events leaving no close parking for the hotel guests.
Review 110:the plumber was there very quickly and corrected the problem.
Review 111:The room got warm at night, if there had been a floor type fan available to circulate the air it would have been better. Also the breakfast was very basic. It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit.
Review 112:The inn was quiet and very clean. The staff were helpful.
Review 113:The building is quite ugly. The breakfst is included, ok that is nice, but the offer is poor and the number of seat is very limited. I asked the staff if it was possible to get extra tables or chairs from sowewhere, she smiled and said yes but did nothing.
Review 114:Room is very cumfortable.
Review 115:Somewhat bored staff, coffee or breakfast not nice, no fresh fruit, nothing.
Review 116:It was fine, basic, what you'd expect from a motel. Location was good for public transport and for where we wanted to be. Good that they offer airport shuttle.
Review 117:The hallway and the elevator could have been cleaner.the room was clean. The breakfast did not have variety. There was no place to sit,we had to sit outside by the pool.Patrons stayed and visited long after they had eaten.
Review 118:The location was close to where we needed to be for an appointment. It was quite,we did not hear a lot of outside noise.
Review 119:I was very impressed by the price & that it is very nice. Family friendly, dog friendly & a pool! I also loved the location. The staff was great as well. I will stay there again.
Review 120:We only stayed here for the airport shuttle for our flight in the morning, but the airport shuttle only runs from 8am so we couldn't get it (we needed to get a shuttle at 7.30am). Had to pay for a taxi which was not that much, but had we known we probably would have stayed somewhere else.
Review 121:Good location to wander around SLC, good for one night stopover from airport.
Review 122:I would have like the shuttle to have taken me two blocks to pick up theSalt lake City Expression. Rolling a 50 lbs. Suitcase two blocks waschallenging.
Review 123:Convince to down town
Review 124:The motel is close to temple square. Even if you are not a Mormon, please have a very good diner at the top floor of the memorial building. During sunset you will a unforgettable view.
Review 125:Bit out if the way from city but free on/off city trolley available only a short walk from hotel.
Review 126:Nice and clean. Has all basic needs for an overnight/short stay.
Review 127:I found absolutely no fault with the hotel!
Review 128:Very helpful and friendly staff. The pool was really welcome as I was there during very hot weather. Free airport shuttle, the journey is only 15 minutes. Rooms very well furnished, great facilities, lovely breakfast.
Review 129:The staff was great. Everyone from the shuttle driver to the front desk agent. I needed a safe and comfortable place to stay when my flight got delayed to the next morning. The free shuttle service was a life saver. The room had every creature comfort. Nice and spacious, nothing too fancy. VERY reasonable price.
Review 130:The room was quite small and dark... Also we could hear people talking in the hallway.
Review 131:Only about five minutes drive to the State Capitol and the North Temple, wonderful!
Review 132:The elevator, the pillows, the mattress is not firm feels like you sink, blankets, toilet, shower, No extractor, the floor, carpet. I would not return nor recommend it.
Review 133:No elevator to the second floor, likely I was traveling with husband. Otherwise it would be a problem with luggage.
Review 134:Breakfast was satisfying, spacious parking
Review 135:our beds weren't made up on a daily basis kind of hid and miss. not enough towels put back. housekeeping was really poor
Review 136:We were close to convention center
Review 137:nothing in particular that I don't like about this hotel. The fact that the pool was covered with a dirty cover didn't make a good impression. It's a very old building and a very old hotel, but it is well taken care of.
Review 138:quiet area. rooms are nice. We checked into a room I got on the internet and it simply was not nice. So I told the front desk clerk that we had a lot nicer room when we stayed there the last time. I didn't realize we had rented a less desirable, less expensive, room. But the clerk gave us the room where we had stayed the last time for no extra cost even though it was the more expensive. The rooms are generally clean and well maintained. It's also in a very convenient area.
Review 139:Both at check-in and check-out, the only, desk clerk received phone calls she answered, and instead of saying, "excuse me, I'll just be a minute", she went ahead with their request and left me standing there with unanswered questions. She was too busy to even tell me good-bye. There was no tub in my room, I didn't even know they did hotel rooms without tubs anymore. We left a day early and just came home, rather than put up with another night of zero TV, no bathtub, empty vending machines and a small cramped room. No help from the desk clerk on finding a place to eat. Don't stay here if you don't know your way around SLC.
