Reviews for The Lodge at Ventana Canyon

Review 1:Expensive nightly resort fee. Kitchen was not very useful, since no cook or prep ware was provided (there are only plates, glasses, and silverware for 2)

Review 2:Great location - beautiful quiet area. Friendly staff. Spacious room and bath.

Review 3:Great for hiking as a family. Close to great trails. Very friendly staff. Very comfortable rooms, bed, furniture, good to have kitchen facilities for families. Beautiful grounds. Hot tub at the end of the day. Will come back,

Review 4:Noisy guy next door blasting classical music late at night. Really unusual for this kind of hotel. Also odd was the fire dept and arson investigators one morning.

Review 5:Catalina Foothills location is beautiful. Staff is very attentive.

Review 6:Room dark and poorly equipped. Parking difficult at times. check in and check out processes were poor and staff unattentive

Review 7:Reasonable location for accessing area around Tucson - Sinora, Tombstone etc. good facilities - golf, pool, tennis. Room clean and comfortable.

Review 8:The coffee table hadnt been cleaned still had water rings from previous guests ...glasses in bathroom & coffee supplies not replaced. Was supposed to get USA today each morning never happened. And parking was terrible due to parking lot being redone...we mentioned that on check out & was told they have valet parking ...no one offered or told us about it for the 2 days we were there. Also told on reservation this was a special birthday getaway...never felt special...no one mentioned.

Review 9:Beautiful grounds great staff Filet mignon was outstanding

Review 10:Very good food, delicious and good value for money. Very spacious suite with comfortable leather sofa, separate bathtub and kitchen facilities. Nice environment with delicate gardening. Close to canyon and trails.

Review 11:We loved the place, but it could use some attention to the exteriors & walk-out patios.

Review 12:Breakfast was a little disappointing. Turndown service showed up twice after I requested no Turndown service. Second time, she knocked once and just opened the door. This after I told her no thank you the first time.

Review 13:Everything was great.

Review 14:THE POOL WAS NOT FINISHED, SO WE DROVE TO THE MAIN RESORT TO USE THAT POOL, BUT IT WAS NOT A FAULT OF THE LODGE, THERE WERE RENOVATIONS HAPPENING.

Review 15:CLOSE TO MANY VERY GOOD RESTAURANTS. GREAT ACCOMMODATIONS, THE ROOM WAS OLDER, BUT A GREAT SETUP. SEPARATE BEDROOMS, BATHROOMS AND LIVING AREA

Review 16:Found nothing I did not like.

Review 17:Quiet, clean, all amenities as advertised, wonderful spa and exercise equipment, beautiful mountain views and nature trail around the entire facility.

Review 18:The air conditioning unit was really loud! Coming and going was a bit hard because they were repaving the roads. Would have been fun to have a few more things to do around the hotel.

Review 19:The staff were really exceptional. We had John and Raine at meals. Just very personal and Pam at the front desk was great as well as all the boys at the front door.

Review 20:Housekeeping was unable to clean the room and change sheets. The kids pool needs to be re-plastered as it cut the bottoms of our kids feet.

Review 21:Staff was very friendly and attentive. The room accommodations were awesome.

Review 22:The ceiling air handler in the bedroom was kind of annoying, just a bad design, pool is a little walk from the rooms, didn't use pool because of that. If your a family the Lowes is more kid friendly, as we went with people that had kids, they stayed there and we stayed at the lodge , I prefer the lodge for privacy and room size, the suites are great & much larger than the standard rooms at Lowes.

Review 23:The staff was excellent ! Quiet location right on the golf course, not many activities for kids.

Review 24:Older, traditional style lodge in beautiful location. Unfortunately the air conditioning didn't work in our room. Staff brought us a noisy fan but that didn't remedy the uncomfortable room.

Review 25:The staff was very nice and quite helpful.

Review 26:Used room service a lot need to come up with some system to collect dirty dishes I do think a room needs to be checked to see if everything is working before being used ie fan, light bulbs

Review 27:When I asked for something it got done

Review 28:The bad sag in the middle and it wasn't very good.

Review 29:room service was efficient and timely; Parking was very good; The room was very comfortable except for the bed

Review 30:A luxurious resort with surroundings of a golf course. Having a bedroom separate from the living area and a full kitchen. It was close to the attractions we wanted to see but removed from in town hussle and bussle.

Review 31:- No daily breakfast buffet (only on Sundays), this is a bit of a shame compared to breakfast experience at similar hotels, especially with kids. - Hotel must have been amazing 15 years ago, but needs a bit of an update.

Review 32:- Amazing location and surroundings. Must be great for golf addicts - but also good for tennis and swimming pool. - Very nice staff, always helpful. - We had a very large suite with three double beds and a kitchen: perfect with 3 children.

Review 33:The pool was the reason I chose the Lodge and it was not available.

Review 34:Excellent location and staff. Wonderful housekeeping staff - friendly and responsive. Ricardo in the Bar & Grill was wonderful.

Review 35:There was only one thing that I didn't care too much for, and that was the Kuerig coffee maker. That coffee was tasteless and terrible.

Review 36:This was a weekend getaway for my 50th birthday, and it was VERY - enjoyably - peaceful, which is what I was aiming for. The room was huge, our three dogs were welcomed, and the bed was more comfortable than we expected it to be. We'll definitely go back.

Review 37:I was there for a convention, so the distance was a little far. I understand the purpose of the location is primarily for golfing and nature so with that in mind, it's wonderful!

Review 38:Huge suite, comfortable bed.

Review 39:The overall atmosphere was very comfortable. Good golf course and practice facility, tennis looked good and pool was very nice and basically empty. Main restaurant is closed some eves so be aware but grill is open. I would come back.

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:Found this property on the web, and booked it because it was close to our daughter's apartment. What a find! Lap pool, exercise/weight room, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room all first class. Very comfortable bed and great view from the room. Can't say enough good things, the list is too long.

Review 42:The food situation was awful. The restaurant was closed all three nights I was there. They were using it as a meeting room for functions. This is a country club and members block the bar at dinner time and there is nowhere to eat until they leave. Food in the bar was definitely not fine dining. Only one special and the same special (poorly prepared frozen fish) was offered twice in three nights. This is not a place to go if you want to enjoy your evening dinner.

Review 43:Huge suite. Great pool, staff are friendly, attentive and all around just plain nice people. Tennis and Golf looked good but I was there for hiking which was superb if you can take the heat.

Review 44:The distance to the pool area was inconvenient, but the pool area itself was very nice.

Review 45:We had our three teenage granddaughters with us, and the room was a big hit with them. they really enjoyed the upstairs bedroom layout with their own bathroom and we enjoyed the privacy of the master bedroom. We all enjoyed the restaurant breakfast menu and the service provided.

Review 46:Personally, I would have preferred to be able to go in the sauna or jacuzzi with the male parties in our group. The lodge has private sauna and jacuzzi facilities for it's members and guests, which I imagine pleased some people, but it left me feeling like a teen under supervision.

Review 47:Enjoyed the peace and quiet. They really work to ensure privacy and solitude are provided if desired. Huge room, comfortable bed, friendly staff.

Review 48:The resort fee was unclear because it was presented as covering all gratuitues and wifi. But an automatic 20 percent was also added to our meals, in addition to a 2.00 service charge(?).

Review 49:gated area, check-in at room, great room service with delicious food, very spacious suite with all amenities needed, all non-smoking rooms, no pets allowed!!

Review 50:Staff gave us the worst room and then charged us to switch to an acceptable room. Service at their restaurant was so slow and we were told it was because dining room was busy. Like we were less important since we were in the sports/bar area.

Review 51:The location

Review 52:excellent dinner buffet nicely heated outdoor jacuzzi

Review 53:A little old, but well maintained. Good location.

Review 54:The golf course is beautiful.

Review 55:Very comfortqble and friendly. Beautiful location.

Review 56:The mattress was horrible, sagged in the middle, was hard as a rock

Review 57:the room was beautiful

Review 58:The suite and private balcony were awesome. The grounds were beautiful and lovely to walk around.

Review 59:Room was excellent. Just as we expected.

Review 60:Quiet Excellent View

Review 61:I booked this room for a visiting friend. He loved it, so I couldn't be happier. I will try to book with you again in the future!

Review 62:N/A

Review 63:The beautiful views of the Catalina mountains were amazing.

Review 64:Didn't like the pillows.

Review 65:Spacious beautiful room great bathrooms.

Review 66:One patio door and screen were not in working order. The door got repared the next day, but the screen did not.

Review 67:Dated rooms need modernizing.

Review 68:The room had a beautiful view and the staff was great.

Review 69:Looking at little worn.

Review 70:The staff and service were excellent. Breakfasts amazing.

Review 71:Relaxing environment. Great views.

Review 72:Loud AC in room

Review 73:Beautiful quiet views

Review 74:Furnishings (carpet) are starting to look a little dated

Review 75:Large room, good facilities for golf , tennis. Swimming, hiking and relaxing

Review 76:No hot tub.

Review 77:Beautiful views

Review 78:Golf - Excellent golf shop and staff -Christmas Eve Buffet - friendly check in/out

Review 79:The walls and doors need more sound proofing.

Review 80:Beautiful location and facilities.

Review 81:Kitchen facility doesn't really exist...no pans, cooking utensils, etc. but a great hotel

Review 82:Great location, clean, friendly staff

Review 83:very nice, in the middle of a golf club

Review 84:Staff, rooms, dining, "resort faciilties", ridiculous fees, dishonest staff

Review 85:A fabulous two night stay that included spa treatments and an afternoon meal. Food was delicious and the room was fantastic.

Review 86:the views and the staff were fantastic

Review 87:the pool was 1/4 mile from my room. the only ice machine was on the other side of my room location. not enough parking. I asked for a room with the balcony facing the mountain, mine was facing east little mountain view. the TV was an antique. not even HD. Poor picture quality, some channels in black and white. Just horrible TV, Loud noises woke me up at night. No lighting above the stove or coffee maker, dim kitchen lighting.

Review 88:the location. the balcony was great. room was big and comfy. the shower was awesome.

Review 89:Older decor needs updating. Kitchenette had no supplies. We had to call down for every thing. The pool was like a kids day camp. One day we could not use the pool because of the amount of kids having a day csmp and were advised to use another hoteks pool..,

Review 90:That they did not have a Jacuzzi by the pool where everyone could go. They had seperate individual ones in men's and women's locker rooms

Review 91:Very pretty n quiet and clean.

Review 92:Price of meals

Review 93:Great location, very nice accommodations very helpful staff. A bit pricey for the food. For the price, food could have been better. Best meals were breakfast.

Review 94:Paying resort fees when the swimming pool was used for swimming lessons & no lanes left open to swim. Quality of coffee

Review 95:We loved the view from our unit & loft space in our room. Plenty space for a family with two tall teenage boys. We enjoyed the kitchenette

Review 96:Advertised free wi but it didn't work. Wanted to watch a pay per view movie after a long day of hiking only to find no pay per view service. Several advertised channels didn't work. Construction going on in next room very noisy. Will definitely stay there in future tho. Have stayed at lowes in Tucson and the Westin in the same area. Prefer your resort over the other two.

Review 97:The lack of a kitchen fan as i did extensive cooking sometimes setting off the smoke detector.

Review 98:Beautiful room. Friendly and efficient staff who ensured that your needs were met.

Review 99:Need renovation. Kitchen drawer pull missing, cabinets antiqued, brokenfloor tile, ac air intake rusty and dirty from service finger prints.Concierge didn't have maps of hiking trail. Difficult room access.

Review 100:Bedroom with separate kitchen and leisure room.

Review 101:TV didn't work properly and housekeeping struggled to fix it. The pillows were foam bricks and there was poor lighting for reading at night

Review 102:Large, clean, comfortable room that was newly remodeled. The bath had a large shower and clawfoot tub. I also enjoyed the workout area and tennis court. We had golf tee.times at another course so we didn't play at the hotels course, but we will stay there again and try their golf course then.

Review 103:Fees for parking and internet

Review 104:Beautiful location in Catalina foothills overlooking Tucson. Two very nice 18 hole golf courses. Nice restaurant overlooking a small lake and the golf course.

Review 105:the living room patio door did not open.

Review 106:facility, view, service and qualiity Two queen size beds.
